Abstract
Description
[0001] Since time immemorial, gold has been extracted from sand and gravel using chutes (locks). These are covered with various mats or skins, in which the heavier gold particles are trapped along with the black sand. The lighter sand and gravel are washed away.
[0002] The earlier wooden slides had ledges behind which the nuggets would cling. Today's steel slides have expanded metal at the bottom, with plastic mats (shoe mats) underneath for the finest gold particles and black sand. These are approximately 5-10 meters long and about 1 meter wide.
[0003] These devices are called SLUICE or SLUICE BOX.
[0004] Cleaning the sluice is very time-consuming. The expanded metal sheets and plastic mats are dismantled and laboriously cleaned daily or every few days. This is very labor-intensive and takes several hours. Three to five people are required. All equipment in the gold mining facility (excavators, dump trucks, wheel loaders, washing drums, sluice, etc.) are shut down during this time. The risk of gold particles being stolen is very high.
[0005] Our idea for a significant simplification and significant cost and time savings as well as theft prevention is: The aforementioned sluice is installed in a rotating device and has a roof-shaped cover. This is electrically rotated daily or every few days. The sluice is then suspended upside down, and a water jet or compressed air rinses out even the finest gold particles. They fall into the pointed tray and from there flow directly into a collection container (tank) or a gold centrifuge or similar device for further gold concentration. The whole process takes a few minutes; mats and expanded metal are not dismantled. One person is sufficient. The sluice can also be positioned lengthwise or crosswise, at an angle, or vertically, and then rinsed with water or compressed air.
[0006] This can be done either by opening the lock or by moving the floor sideways. Claims
[1] Rotatable or vertically or diagonally adjustable or hinged gold lock made of wood, metal, plastic or similar (device) for gold extraction in which the gold particles (with black sand) are washed out or removed with compressed air after this change of position (e.g. rotation). [2] The same device in which the gold particles (with black sand) are removed after the position change by shaking, shaking or shocking. [3] The same device in which the soil is moved sideways or lengthways - whereby the gold particles are removed by introducing water or compressed air or by shaking from top to bottom or to the side. [4] Same device with hydraulic, mechanical or electrical tilt adjustment (for flow optimization and emptying). [5] The same device where the floor mats or similar are generally not removed during emptying. [6] Same device with lockable access (manhole) and lockable outlet (e.g. hydraulic hose system) to prevent theft, among other things. [7] The same device with a built-in water jet system, e.g. with high pressure, which sprays the floor (mats) so that the gold parts (with so-called black sand) fall into the pointed tub (inverted roof). [8] Same device from which the gold particles (with black sand) flow directly into further concentration (e.g. centrifuge or shaking table etc.). [9] Same device with built-in GPS system for theft monitoring. [10] Same device with a shaking or shock system or similar to enhance the sinking of the fine gold shimmer. [11] The same device with a dosing device for adding detergent or similar to the water to reduce the surface tension of the water. This promotes the sinking of the gold flakes into the mat.
