Abstract
Description
[0001] The support rollers on which the drum rings of the washing drum in polishing machines for polishing / brushing root vegetables rest and are supported are usually made of steel and are equipped with two external ball bearings which are exposed to the dirt and water from the washing process without protection.
[0002] The drum rings are also made of steel. During operation, the steel ring runs on a steel support roller inside the drum, and the washing water runs over the external ball bearings.
[0003] These polishing machines are integrated into car wash lines and are an essential component of these lines. Because the drum rings run steel-on-steel on the support rollers, this very often leads to significant wear on the drum rings. In the past, this has repeatedly resulted in these drum rings breaking. This also happens when the unprotected external ball bearings fail due to water and dirt exposure, causing the support roller to stop. Then the drum ring rubs hard against the iron support roller and wears down massively until it breaks. This damage often shuts down the entire car wash operation.
[0004] Replacing the drum rings requires a complete disassembly of the vegetable polishing machine, which is very time-consuming and expensive. Replacement drum rings are also often not readily available.
[0005] The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem that the drum runs on the support rollers with steel on steel, and that as a result the drum ring wears down until it breaks uncontrollably, and that the ball bearings are protected on the outside against dirt and water by a seal in order to avoid machine downtime.
[0006] This problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1.
[0007] The invention achieves a drum running on a soft Vulkollan surface, with the ball bearings protected from dirt and water by an external oil seal. This prevents abrasion of the drum ring and protects the ball bearings from wear caused by dirt and water, thus preventing machine downtime.
[0008] The embodiment of the invention is described in the following. Fig. 1 explains. This shows: Fig. 1 support roller with Vulkollan coating and internally mounted ball bearings with external protection by a Simmerring.
[0009] The surface of the support roller is coated with Vulkollan, which has a Shore hardness of 95. This means the steel drum runs on an abrasion-resistant, water-resistant, and softer surface.
[0010] An advantageous invention is described in claims 2 and 3. The ball bearings are recessed inwards into the interior of the support roller, so that the ball bearings are protected against dirt and water on the outside by the oil seal.
[0011] An example implementation will be shown using the Fig. 1 explains. It shows: Fig. 1 the support roller in cross-section
[0012] The figure shows the support roller with Vulkollan layer 1, the steel core 2, and the larger bearing seats 3 for the inwardly offset position of the ball bearings 4. It also includes the oil seals 5, which protect the ball bearings from dirt and water, and the interior space between the ball bearings 6 for lubricating the inwardly open ball bearings.
