Subsequent securing with a commercially available cable lock / U-lock through the through-holes of the device prevents parallel displacement of the molded parts. In this state, the paddle lock can no longer be opened and the paddle can be secured to a fixed object with the cable lock. The buoyancy of the paddle lock is achieved through hollow chambers inside the plastic molded parts, which, through a type of honeycomb structure, also contribute to stability and weight reduction. Striking and bright colors of the surfaces of the paddle lock are achieved through the use of colored plastic and are intended to indicate that the objects are secured, even from a distance. [0005] The paddle lock consists of two interlocking plastic blocks (sheet 1 Fig. 2; a1+ a2) with a round, central recess for the paddle shaft of a double paddle, single paddle, SUP paddle, or other suitable items. The two lock moldings ( Fig. 3; a1 + a2) are attached to the paddle shaft ( Fig. 3; b). By subsequently sliding them together in parallel ( Fig. 4) the “puzzle”-shaped fitting parts are closed ( Fig. 5) and prevents the two halves from being pulled apart. The through holes are now aligned, allowing the paddle lock to be secured with a cable lock ( Fig. 6; c) or a U-lock can be secured against further movement and can no longer be opened.
