Abstract

Device for a building installation comprising a housing (2), a computing unit (3) configured for controlling the device (1), and a power supply unit (4), wherein the computing unit (3) and the power supply unit (4) are arranged inside the housing (2), a switch (20) arranged on the outside of the housing (2) and mechanically actuated, wherein the switch (20) is connected to the computing unit (3) and has at least two switching positions (25, 26), and wherein the computing unit (3) is configured to determine the switching position (25, 26) of the switch (20), characterized in that the switch is designed as an optical switch (20) with a light emitter (21) and a light receiver (22) arranged spaced apart from each other in the housing (2), and the optical switch (2) has a switching element (23) mechanically adjustable on the outside of the housing.wherein the optical switch (20) in a first mechanical switching position (25) of the switching element (23) directs light emitted by the light emitter (21) to the light receiver (22) and wherein the optical switch (20) in a second mechanical switching position (26) of the switching element (23) does not direct light emitted by the light emitter (21) to the light receiver (22).
