Description

The invention relates to a beater wheel for use in a cutter ring timber chipper, which, in a plan view of the beater wheel in the direction of an axis of rotation, comprises a plurality of beater plates arranged next to one another in a circumferential direction of the beater wheel.By use, cutter ring wood chippers are known with which wood chips are produced from fresh wood chips or recycled wood, which are used, for example, for producing particle boards, which in turn are intended for use in the furniture or construction industry.A club wheel is known, for example, from DE 19835144 A1.In a cutter ring wood chipper, the machining takes place by a cutter ring which rotates in the opposite direction to a beater wheel. By means of the beater wheel, wood to be comminuted introduced into the rotary cutter chipper is moved by centrifugal forces in the direction of the cutter ring. Between the cutter ring and the club wheel, a gap is formed which is bounded by a knife of the cutter ring and a striking strip of the club wheel. Due to the movement of the cutter ring in the opposite direction to the beater wheel, the wood to be comminuted, which is larger than the gap, is comminuted and guided through the cutter ring into a collection device for comminuted wood for further use. Also known are cutter ring timber chippers in which the cutter ring is fixed.A club wheel comprises two club wheel rings spaced apart from one another in an axial direction, between which the club plates are arranged, wherein the club plates, when a club wheel is viewed from above, are arranged next to one another in the circumferential direction of the club wheel rings in the axial direction, that is to say in the direction of an axis of rotation of the club wheel about which the club wheel rotates when it is used as intended in a cutter timber chipper. The object of the invention is to provide a club wheel of the type mentioned at the beginning which is particularly easy to maintain.According to the invention, the object is achieved in that at least one of the striking plates has a multi-part wear plate which can be detachably connected to a striking plate base body. The wear plate is that part of the beater wheel which, during operation of a cutter-type wood chopping device, has direct contact with wood to be comminuted, that is to say is arranged at the front of the beater plate in the direction of rotation of the beater wheel. If the wear plate is formed in multiple parts and can be detachably connected to the striking plate base body, an exchange of individual parts of the multiple-part wear plate is advantageously possible. The replacement of the entire wear plate in the event of wear at only one single point is no longer necessary, in contrast to impact plates known from the prior art. An exchange can take place according to requirements, i.e. according to wear.Expediently, the multi-part wear plate has two preferably flat wear plate parts which are arranged one behind the other in a radial direction of the club wheel. The inventors have found at which locations the greatest wear occurs on a wear plate and deduced from this finding the optimal number of wear plate parts. It has been recognized that it is advantageous and sufficient if the multi-part wear plate is formed in two parts.Preferably, the two wear plate parts are flush with each other. In one embodiment of the invention, the multi-part wear plate has two wear plate parts which are arranged one behind the other in a radial direction of the club wheel and which are of different sizes. The inventors have evaluated a typical wear pattern of a striking plate of a striking wheel of a cutter ring wood chipper and have found that the two parts of the multi-part wear plate must have different sizes. For this purpose, the smaller part is attached to a location of the impact plate at which higher wear occurs, while the larger part is attached to a location with lower wear. Advantageously, the wear plate parts can be replaced only in a wear-appropriate manner during maintenance. An exchange without or with only slight regional wear is not necessary. In a further embodiment of the invention, a first wear plate part, which is smaller than a second wear plate part, is arranged at an end of the impact plate facing the axis of rotation of the club wheel and is preferably designed in the form of a strip. The inventors have recognized that the highest wear of a striking plate occurs in the region facing the axis of rotation of the striking wheel. This embodiment of the invention advantageously ensures that that that region of the percussion plate friction body which is subject to the highest wear is covered with its own wear plate part. It has been found to be advantageous and sufficient if this first wear plate part is designed in the form of a strip. In one embodiment of the invention, the first wear plate part, which is preferably designed in the form of a strip, protrudes in a radial direction of the club wheel in the direction of the axis of rotation beyond the main impact plate body, to which the first wear plate part can be detachably fastened. If the first wear plate part protrudes beyond the striking plate base body, particularly good wear protection is achieved. It is advantageously ensured that even in the case of turbulence in a cutter ring wood chipper, no wear occurs on the main body of the striking plate. The detachable connection allows simple replacement of the first wear plate part.In a further embodiment of the invention, each wear plate part of a multi-part wear plate can be detachably connected to the striking plate base body, preferably by a screw connection.A screw connection has proven to be particularly suitable for achieving a releasable connection. Special tools are not required, but rather standard tools are sufficient.Because each wear plate part is individually replaceable, a repair- and maintenance-friendly club wheel is provided. A cutter ring timber chipper comprising such a club wheel is also repair- and maintenance-friendly, thereby preventing long downtime.Expediently, the wear plate of the at least one striking plate comprises on opposite sides a projection which projects in the direction of a striking wheel ring and which preferably has a base surface which is triangular in regions. There is a protrusion on each of the two opposing sides. The projection is arranged in a region of the wear plate facing away from the axis of rotation of the club wheel when the wear plate is installed in a club wheel as intended. If the wear plate comprises two wear plate parts of different sizes, the two projections are attached to the larger wear plate part, for example integrally formed. The projection closes a passage on each of the two opposite sides, through which passage wood to be comminuted or already partially comminuted material can pass without being comminuted. This leads to increased wear of the impeller ring in the region of the passage due to the high speeds at which an impeller rotates. The inventors have recognized that the aforementioned passage can be effectively closed by such a projection, which is preferably triangular in sections, whereby a longer use of the club wheel is advantageously possible. In one embodiment of the invention, at least one of the impact plates has an impact strip which can be detachably connected to the impact plate base body. When the beater wheel is used as intended in a cutter ring timber chipper, the beater bar is arranged behind the multi-part wear plate in a radial direction of the beater wheel and is preferably flush with the multi-part wear plateBecause the impact strip is relevant to cutting and has direct contact with wood to be comminuted, it is exposed to increased wear. Owing to the detachable connectivity, its simple replacement is advantageously possible. This is relevant in particular when recycling wood is used, by means of which wear-promoting sand grains can be introduced into a cutter ring wood chipper. In a further embodiment of the invention, the impact strip can be detachably connected to an impact strip carrier body, and the impact strip carrier body can be detachably connected to the impact plate base body.If the impact strip is detachably attached to an impact strip carrier body and the latter is detachably attached to the impact plate base body, a modular unit is advantageously created, which is either completely replaceable, or the individual parts of which are replaceable.A time required for maintenance of the club wheel is significantly shortened, in contrast to maintenance durations known today.Expediently, the impact strip carrier body is L-shaped or T-shaped in cross section, wherein an impact strip attached thereto preferably bears with a single side face against the impact strip carrier body.An L- or T-shaped impact strip carrier body has proven to be particularly advantageous. The one single side surface, against which the impact strip preferably abuts the impact strip carrier body, is particularly preferably that side which is facing away from a side of the impact strip which has contact with wood to be comminuted. Advantageously, a displacement of the impact strips in a radial direction of the impeller is possible with increasing wear of the impeller or of the knife ring.In one embodiment of the invention, the beater wheel comprises at least one impact strip, which can be detachably connected to an impact strip carrier body.An impact strip of a beater wheel is a strip against which wood to be comminuted impacts upon rotation of the beater wheel, whereby its movement is effected in the direction of a cutter ring of a cutter ring wood chipper.Impact strips known from the prior art are welded to the beater wheel, whereby when they are replaced by welding in a new impact strip due to wear, balancing of the beater wheel is necessary. The inventors have recognized that, by means of an impact strip carrier body welded to the beater wheel and an impact strip which can be detachably connected thereto and which protects the impact strip carrier body from wear, not only is it possible to easily replace the impact strip, but balancing is no longer necessary after replacement thereof. Such a club wheel is advantageously particularly easy to maintain.A knife ring timber chipper according to the invention is characterized in that it has a beater wheel according to the invention. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments and the appended drawings relating to the exemplary embodiments.
