Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a circuit arrangement between a known refrigerated box trailer and the associated tractor.
[0002] The following commentary explains the state of the art and the given facts.
[0003] Basically, the situation is that a refrigerated box trailer is transported over long distances by the associated tractor unit.
[0004] In this regard, it is necessary that drivers take appropriate breaks.
[0005] All temperature-dependent goods that, due to their nature, properties and transportability, need to be cooled in summer and heated in winter are transported.
[0006] This includes not only food, but also medicine, high-quality furniture, chemicals, paints and so on.
[0007] While driving, these tractors must generate the electricity needed not only for refrigerators, auxiliary heating, power converters, microwaves, etc., but also for all kinds of electronic assistance systems that a driver needs in long-distance transport, while simultaneously charging the vehicle battery to 100%.
[0008] The technical assistance systems also monitor each other when the vehicle is stationary, when the driver is taking a break in the tractor unit during long-distance transport and has switched off the engine.
[0009] The problem with the known solution, as described above, is that the CO2 requirements for fleet consumption limit the charging current of the alternator for each tractor unit.
[0010] In order to achieve the manufacturer's target average consumption, the alternators go into idle and produce no power, so that the batteries are only half charged even after 400 km.
[0011] However, a fully charged battery is extremely important to ensure comprehensive operation of all devices, especially when the tractor is stationary.
[0012] All modern tractors are equipped with an electric parking air conditioner, a refrigerator, and other electrical devices. The parking air conditioner and other electrical devices that must be operated while stationary draw power from the tractor's onboard battery. Today, tractors are equipped with a load shutoff system to ensure that the tractor restarts after a break.
[0013] As a result, the driver has no power during his break in the tractor, which affects his quality of life and rest periods.
[0014] Solutions were found by having the driver leave the tractor running while stationary, which is counted towards the tractor operator's CO2 footprint and thus represents a significant disadvantage. It's also important to note that unnecessary idle consumption is directly included in the calculations for the new Energy Efficiency Act, thus unnecessarily driving up fleet consumption.
[0015] The object of the invention is to remedy this disadvantage and to realize a circuit arrangement between a refrigerated box trailer and the associated tractor.
[0016] The object is achieved by providing a circuit arrangement between a refrigerated box trailer and the associated tractor for charging the battery of the tractor, which is realized in claim 1.
[0017] Circuit arrangement between a refrigerated box trailer and the associated tractor unit for charging the battery of the tractor unit, wherein a charging charger with a priority circuit is connected between a battery and the refrigeration unit of the refrigerated box trailer and a NATO power supply cable with 12 V is connected from the charging charger to the jump start box of the tractor unit with a priority circuit.
[0018] The following application solution is given.
[0019] Our refrigerated box trailer is equipped with a cooling unit that has a temperature setting of -30 to +30 degrees, which can be operated independently via a diesel engine or via an external power supply.
[0020] Now we're going to install a standard charger, which is also used to operate a tail lift.
[0021] Since the engine-driven cooling unit has a three-phase generator that continuously produces power, we tap this power via the charger and route it directly to the tractor's jumper box via a standard NATO power supply cable. Every tractor or van, for example, has this emergency connection point. From there, the power goes directly to the tractor's battery.
[0022] We therefore use the permanently produced electrical energy of the cooling unit through a priority circuit by diesel or external power in continuous operation or start-stop for the additional electrical charging of the tractor's batteries
[0023] This happens both while driving and when stationary, as long as the tractor unit is connected to the trailer.
[0024] The priority circuit in the charger and the emergency power box ensures that there is no reverse current in the respective components.
[0025] The following advantages of the inventive solution are given.
[0026] The working conditions of the tractor drivers are significantly improved because they always have fully charged batteries to power their electrical devices. Noise and environmental pollution are significantly reduced. NOx sensors are protected, and the particulate filter doesn't fill up when stationary.
[0027] This is extremely important in the summer for operating the parking air conditioner and in the winter for operating the parking heater. You have to remember that drivers are in their trucks 24 hours a day, with outside temperatures between +35 and -15 degrees Celsius in Europe. In other countries, it's more extreme.
[0028] There is no longer any additional idle diesel consumption for the tractor operator.
[0029] Furthermore, CO2 emissions are reduced and environmental pollution is reduced to zero by leaving the tractor's engine running. The German Road Traffic Act (STVO) also applies here, which limits the time the engine can be run while stationary and imposes penalties for non-compliance.
[0030] Due to the constant charging process, the maintenance condition of the tractor's battery is optimal.
[0031] In addition, the existing standards of occupational health and safety regulations for drivers of tractors, especially those with refrigerated box trailers, are complied with. In the Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the circuit arrangement between the refrigerated box trailer 8 and the tractor 9.
[0032] A refrigerated box trailer 8 with a corresponding cooler 7 is provided for cooling and heating the goods contained therein.
[0033] Furthermore, a tractor 9 is shown.
[0034] In addition, a NATO connection cable 3 for 12 V is shown as a connection between the refrigerated box trailer 8 and the tractor 9, with NATO cable sockets 6 being arranged on the refrigerated box trailer 8 and the tractor 9.
[0035] In this case, a connection is provided on the refrigerated box trailer 8 between a charging device 1 and the cooler 7, wherein a connection is provided from the charging device 1 to the truck connection 2 and a NATO cable socket 6 for the NATO connection cable 3 is provided on this truck connection 2.
[0036] On the truck side, there is a NATO cable socket 6 on the jump start box 4 of the tractor 9, with a further connection from the jump start box 4 via the truck connection 2 to the batteries 5.
