Abstract
Description
The problems so far:
[0001] Until now, loading a motorcycle onto a trailer with a loading ramp or folding mechanism has always been risky unless a second person is available to assist. The risk of causing personal injury or property damage is ever-present. The reasons for this vary; often it's due to the unwieldiness of some motorcycles, but slippery surfaces or excessively steep loading angles also pose problems and can easily lead to the motorcycle tipping over. There are also frequent reports of elderly people lacking the strength or dexterity to safely drive or push the motorcycle onto the trailer. Additionally, there's the challenge of positioning the motorcycle in such a way as to create an optimal base for securing it.The reason for this is the lack of a center stand, which manufacturers are increasingly omitting; in some cases, the motorcycle's weight is so high that using the center stand is simply impossible. Previous motorcycle stands or rockers were not mobile and were designed only for stationary use. The solution to the problem:
[0002] This is a rolling and adjustable loading aid for motorcycles with an integrated electric winch, which can be individually adapted to different motorcycle types. The wheel mount (11) must be adjusted so that the motorcycle tire achieves sufficient clamping force. The telescopic unit (13) can also be continuously adjusted to increase lateral stability if necessary. For transport purposes, this unit (13) can be completely removed to reduce the overall width of the unit. A version is also available in which the front wheels cannot be adjusted with the telescopic units (13). In this version, the front wheels are aligned with the rear wheels.
[0003] For loading, the motorcycle is pushed into the cradle (1) with momentum until the adjustable wheel support (11) is reached. This secures the front wheel and / or the entire motorcycle. Additionally, the motorcycle must be secured to the two eyelets (9) with ratchet straps. The locking lever (5) on the cradle is then engaged. The tightness of the two telescopic sections (13) must now be checked. To do this, check that the two wing nuts (10) are tight and tighten the locknut. Once the motorcycle is positioned straight in front of the loading ramp, the loading process can begin. First, the steel cable of the electric winch (12) must be unwound to allow the lifting hook to move freely. The lifting hook must then be attached to a sturdy eyelet or fastening unit to ensure safe loading. A strong magnet with an eyelet can also be used as a fastening unit. While the electric winch (12) pulls the motorcycle forward, care should be taken to ensure it remains traveling straight ahead so that it is always positioned centrally for optimal weight distribution. Once the motorcycle is fully on the loading platform, it can be secured according to current load securing standards and regulations. The unloading process is carried out in reverse order. To ensure a clear view of the loading process from all sides, it is recommended to choose a model with a radio remote control that also operates in both directions.
