A system for evaluating the effectiveness of honey and hydrogel in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers

Abstract

A system for evaluating the efficacy of honey and hydrogel in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, comprising: a) a wound preparation unit configured for the surgical removal of necrotic tissue and calluses in diabetic foot ulcers; b) a topical treatment unit configured to apply at least one therapeutic agent selected from the group consisting of honey gel, hydrogel, a combination of honey gel and hydrogel, or topical antibiotic ointment to the wound bed; c) a relief unit configured to provide pressure relief devices for the ulcer site; and d) a monitoring unit configured to measure wound size and track healing progress at predetermined intervals.
