AI Technical Summary
Existing dispensers lack a reliable and secure locking mechanism that allows for easy assembly with various storage containers while preventing accidental detachment, especially under increased loads or external forces.
The dispenser features two locking beads with an insertion curve and a horizontally extending contact surface, designed to provide a reinforced locking connection by encasing the storage container, requiring significantly more force to detach than traditional designs, and an air path to prevent pressure buildup during pump actuation.
This configuration ensures a secure, non-detachable connection between the dispenser pump and storage container, maintaining reliability under increased loads and preventing accidental separation, while allowing easy assembly with different containers and preventing pressure buildup during use.
Description
field of technology
[0001] The invention relates to a dispenser for dispensing flowable, for example liquid or pasty, masses, according to the features of the preamble of claim 1. State of the art
[0002] A dispenser with a modular and interchangeable dispenser pump design is known, for example, from EP 1 015 340 B1. This design provides a compact dispenser pump that can be used with a variety of dispensers with freely configurable head pieces and storage containers.
[0003] DE 10 2008 030 118 A1 discloses a dispenser with a locking connection, in which the locking connection is provided by means of a locking bead. This locking connection is not considered satisfactory in all respects.
[0004] DE 100 330 040 A1 discloses a dispenser in which the pumping chamber comprises a pot portion connected to the inner wall of a storage container. During a pumping operation, a substance is pressed into an outlet channel, which simultaneously elastically pushes back a valve closing a dispensing opening of the outlet channel. A free space is assigned to the valve on the side facing away from the substance. To prevent excess pressure in the free space, an air path is provided from the free space into the interior formed by the pot portion and the piston portion, which in turn has an air path to the outside. The piston portion is guided directly along a wall portion that also forms an outer surface of the pot portion.
[0005] From DE 10 2011 001 512 A1 a dispenser for dispensing flowable masses is known, in which a circumferential individual locking bead is formed in the pot part, which is comparatively long in an insertion direction and which initially has a lower surface pointing obliquely outwards, then a central surface running parallel to the axis and again an upper surface running obliquely inwards.
[0006] US 2013 / 008924 A1 discloses a dispenser comprising two locking ridges arranged one above the other in a longitudinal section, with the upper locking ridge being longer and the lower locking ridge being shorter. Each of these ridges has a lower leg extending at an acute angle to a longitudinal axis, each of which transitions into an axially parallel section. The axially parallel section, in turn, transitions directly into a horizontally extending contact surface. Summary of the invention
[0007] Based on the last two documents mentioned, the object of the invention is to design a dispenser of the type in question which is advantageous with regard to fastening.
[0008] This object is achieved in the subject matter of claim 1, wherein the focus is on the fact that both locking beads are formed on the storage container side with an insertion rounding, whereas on the headpiece side with respect to the longitudinal cross-section with a substantially horizontally extending contact surface, that the two locking beads are designed identically, that each locking bead is initially provided with a leg enclosing an acute angle with an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of approximately 30° to 45° in a direction of insertion of the dispenser pump into the storage container, which leg extends radially outwards in a direction opposite to the insertion direction, that the leg merges at the end into an insertion rounding, which in turn runs into the contact surface which, with respect to the longitudinal axis in the longitudinal cross-section, runs approximately at right angles to the axis and is accordingly directed transversely to the insertion direction, and that, viewed in the direction of extension of a longitudinal axis, a height (a) of each locking bead corresponds to approximately one-third to two-thirds of the material thickness of the chamber wall, the height being measured between root areas of the locking beads, into which they run into an outer surface of the pot part.
[0009] The proposed design results in a particularly reliable dispenser. The dispenser pump can be easily combined with a variety of different storage containers during assembly during production. However, once the combination is established and the dispenser pump is locked into the storage container, a reliable, virtually indetachable connection is created.
[0010] With regard to the manufacture of the dispenser and the initial connection between the dispenser pump and the storage container, it is further ensured that the dispenser pump can be connected to any storage container designed specifically for the connection, while maintaining a comparatively simple design of the connecting formations on the dispenser pump and the storage container. This allows for a considerable degree of freedom in terms of manufacturing, right up until the actual assembly of the dispenser pump with the storage container, to choose between different dispenser pumps or different storage containers.
[0011] On the other hand, the reinforced locking connection between the dispenser pump and the storage container is secured by the two locking bulges, which are vertically spaced from one another and project radially outward, with a rounded insertion on the storage container side and a horizontally extending contact surface on the headpiece side. Once the connection is established, the dispenser pump remains reliably attached to the container, even under increased load, particularly increased external load. For example, a lateral load (from the outside, respectively) on the locking connection, viewed with respect to the longitudinal axis of the dispenser, cannot trigger an effect that would undo the locking connection.Even if the dispenser pump is used when the dispenser is designed, for example, in a massage head, the dispenser pump cannot be separated from the storage container due to the reinforced snap-in connection, in particular not by normal manual force.
[0012] Furthermore, as a result of this design, it can also be ensured that the dispenser pump cannot be separated from the associated storage container and assigned to another, improper storage container without special, extraordinary effort.
[0013] The reinforcement is further preferably selected such that, compared to the known locking connection, in particular the known locking connection from the aforementioned prior art, at least 1.5 times up to 3 or 5 times the force is required to release the locking connection.
[0014] The locking connection is preferably selected in such a way that it cannot be removed by normal manual force, i.e. without the need for tools and without destruction.
[0015] The locking bulges can extend annularly relative to the longitudinal axis, correspondingly extending over the entire circumference of the part of the dispenser pump or storage container that has the locking bulge. The counter-locking part, corresponding to the storage container or the dispenser pump, preferably has locking grooves that are correspondingly designed and adapted to the cross-sections. These can also extend over the entire circumference, as is also preferred.
[0016] Alternatively, the locking beads, and possibly also the locking grooves, may extend only over a partial section of the circumference, wherein, viewed further over the circumference, a plurality of locking beads and locking grooves may optionally be provided.
[0017] The spacing of the locking beads viewed in an axial direction preferably corresponds to 1 to 5 times, more preferably 1.5 to 2 times, the extent of a locking bead viewed in the same direction.
[0018] The two locking beads have the same cross-sections, both in terms of their geometric design and their axial and radial dimensions.
[0019] The insertion rounding, which is formed on the locking bulges on the storage container side, provides support during the attachment of the dispenser pump to the storage container. As a result of the insertion rounding, the edge surrounding the container opening as well as the locking groove initially formed in the insertion direction are advantageously overrun.
[0020] The contact surface on the headpiece side of both locking beads, which is provided so as to run essentially horizontally with respect to the longitudinal cross-section, interacts in the locked fixing position of the dispenser pump on the storage container with a counter-contact surface of the locking groove, which preferably runs in the same direction, accordingly also essentially horizontally.
[0021] As a result of this design, the locking bulges are shaped like barbs, which supports the insertion and movement of the dispenser pump into the locking position relative to the storage container, but prevents the locking from being released.
[0022] The piston, which is slidably received in the pot part, serves to achieve a pumping stroke, with a return spring acting between a piston part connected to the piston and the pot base. The piston part has a contact surface against which the return spring, which is supported on the pot base, rests. Together with the pot part, this spring forms a first interior space whose volume changes upon pumping. Furthermore, the first interior space is surrounded by a second interior space formed between the head piece, the pot part, and the piston part.
[0023] In a dispenser known from DE 10330040 A1, a first interior space is connected to a second interior space located above it. However, when pressed down, the volume in the first and second interior spaces is merely compressed. Furthermore, the second interior space is further reduced by a closure element when the dispenser is opened, and the pressure in the first interior space is also increased.
[0024] A dispenser known from DE 19938798 A1 also features only two interior chambers arranged in series, which are also not connected by a ventilation opening. The same applies to the dispensers known from DE 3900267 A1 and EP 1015340 B1.
[0025] It is intended that an air path is formed in the system ceiling to prevent pressure build-up in the first interior space during pump operation.
[0026] The proposed air path prevents the formation of an air cushion between the pot part and the piston part when the dispenser pump is actuated, particularly when the pump chamber volume is reduced. The resulting pressure buildup would increase the actuating force for displacing the head piece in addition to the restoring force of the restoring device. This problem is avoided by the provided air path. In the preferred embodiment, the air path exposes the interior space formed between the pot part and the piston part to the ambient air pressure, regardless of the position of the head piece relative to the dispenser pump.
[0027] The second interior space, which surrounds the first interior space, is connected to the ambient air due to a gap usually present between the headpiece and the pot part and is therefore at the same pressure. Air flowing from the first interior space into the second interior space during operation, to prevent overpressure in the first interior space, can thus easily escape into the environment without causing a significant pressure buildup in the second interior space.
[0028] In one possible embodiment, the air path can be provided in a type of bore in the upper end wall of the piston part. The end wall can also be almost completely open outside of the structurally required areas for supporting, for example, a piston part wall and a connection to the outlet channel, thus creating a correspondingly enlarged air path. Furthermore, the end wall of the piston part can be designed in a spoke-like manner, for example, with respect to a plan view in which the longitudinal axis is represented as a point, with the air paths being formed between the spokes. Short description of the drawings
[0029] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing, which represents only one exemplary embodiment. It shows: Fig. 1 shows a donor of the type in question in longitudinal section; Fig. 2 shows the enlargement of area II in Figure 1; Fig. 3 the enlargement of area III in Figure 1 ; Fig. 4 a piston part of the dispenser in a perspective individual view. Description of the embodiments
[0030] Shown and described is, firstly, with reference to Figure 1 , a dispenser 1 for arrangement on a storage container 2.
[0031] In the illustrated embodiments, the storage container 2 is designed as a substantially cylindrical body, with a central longitudinal axis x, which in the corresponding assignment position also passes through the dispenser 1, preferably in the form of a rotation axis.
[0032] The storage container 2 has a storage chamber 3 for receiving a mass M to be dispensed. This storage chamber 3 is limited at the bottom by a follow-up piston 4.
[0033] The dispenser 1 is inserted into the opening of the storage container 2, which opening points upwards in a normal setup state of the storage container 2, and is fastened to the storage container 2.
[0034] The dispenser 1 essentially consists of a headpiece 5 and a dispenser pump 6.
[0035] The dispenser pump 6 initially comprises a piston body 7 with a piston 8 and a pot part 9 with a pot bottom 28 and a cylinder section 10. The piston 8 is slidably received in the cylinder section 10 along the longitudinal axis x, with a pump chamber 11 being formed between the piston 8 and the cylinder section 10 and further delimited by the pot bottom 28 of the pot part 9.
[0036] The pot part 9 is designed to be interchangeable in order to adapt to different storage containers 2, in particular different opening diameters and / or cross-sections of the storage container 2.
[0037] The pump chamber 11 connects an inlet channel 12 and an outlet channel 13, wherein both channels can be separated from the pump chamber 11 by an inlet-side valve 14 and an outlet-side valve 15.
[0038] The two valves 14 and 15, which are designed as check valves, are preferably installed so that they open in the same direction, i.e. in the dispensing direction.
[0039] A return device 16, here in the form of a cylindrical spring, is arranged between the piston part 7 and the cylinder section 10. This can typically be a metal cylindrical spring. Alternatively, a spring made of a plastic material with appropriate elastic recovery can be provided to create an all-plastic dispenser.
[0040] The return device 16 is further arranged such that it is supported at one end on the pot bottom 28 in a preferably concentric arrangement to the longitudinal axis x and at the other end acts against an upper end wall of the piston part 7, such that the head piece 5 with the piston part 7 and the piston 8 is acted upon in the direction of a pump chamber enlargement in order to fill the pump chamber 11 again after a pump stroke has taken place, during which the pump chamber volume is reduced.
[0041] The piston part 7 and the cup part 9 are each essentially cup-shaped. They engage with each other and together delimit the dispenser pump 6 to the outside, forming a capsule-like housing. At least one fastening projection 28 can be provided on a radial cup wall 17 of the cup part 9, which can also be designed, for example, as an annular projection. This fastening projection 18 serves to fix the position of the dispenser pump 6 in the installed state between the head piece 5 and the storage container 2.
[0042] In the embodiment shown, the valves 14 and 15 are designed as so-called annular gap valves with a ring-like valve body, which each covers an annular gap 19 or 20 of the inlet or outlet channel 12, 13.
[0043] The radially symmetrical design of the dispenser pump 6 ensures a homogeneous dispensing behavior. However, the dispenser pump is not limited to radially symmetrical designs; it can also have any cross-sectional shape, for example, square or polygonal. Instead of the annular gap valves shown, other known check valves, such as flap valves, can also be used.
[0044] Furthermore, the piston 8 can be formed integrally with the piston part 7. A kinematic reversal of the dispenser pump 6 with a reversal of the opening direction of the check valves is also possible.
[0045] The dispenser pump 3 is adjoined by the head piece 5, which has a dome-like actuating part 21 with a dispensing channel 22 and a dispensing orifice 23, furthermore an actuating surface 24 formed on the upper side preferably transversely to the longitudinal axis x and an actuating part wall 25 which may be concentric with the longitudinal axis x.
[0046] On the outside of the wall, the actuating part 21 is guided in the axial direction via its actuating part wall 25 through the pot wall 17 of the pot part 9.
[0047] The dispensing channel 22, which in the illustrated embodiment initially receives the longitudinal axis x centrally in its longitudinal extension, is with reference to a cross-sectional view in which the longitudinal axis x is shown as a line, for example according to Figure 1It is guided outward at a preferably obtuse angle to the longitudinal axis x and opens into the dispensing orifice 23. The dispensing channel 22 is sealingly inserted into the outlet channel 13, whereby, in the use position, the piston 8, the piston part 7, and the dispensing channel 22, together with the actuating part 21, cooperate for joint movement along the longitudinal axis x. Accordingly, the entire head piece 5 with the piston 8 attached thereto is supported by the return device 16.
[0048] When the dispenser pump 6 or the dispenser 1 as a whole is inserted into the storage container 2, a lower edge 28 of the dispenser pump 6 with its inlet channel 12 dips so deeply into the storage container 2 and thus into the mass M stored there that direct contact with the mass M to be dispensed is established. Thus, when the dispenser 1 is placed on the storage container 2, the mass M can spread out into the pump chamber 11 for the first filling thereof, preferably through the inlet valve 14, which opens during the exposure to pressure as a result.
[0049] As further shown in Figure 1 As can be seen, the dispenser 1, in particular the head piece 5, can be covered by a cap 26 in the non-use position. In this case, this cap is snapped into place in the area of the pot wall 17, optionally, as further preferred, with axial support on the fastening projection 18.
[0050] In addition, a limiting device 27 is provided to limit the axial displacement of the head piece 5 together with the piston 8, particularly in a position spaced from the pot part 9. This limiting position shown represents the maximum filling position of the pump chamber 11.
[0051] The dispenser pump 6 is secured to the storage container 2 by a snap-in connection 30. This is provided in an area substantially directly below the fastening projection 18 of the pot part 9, which rests on the wall of the storage container 2.
[0052] Thus, on the outside of the pot wall 17, two locking beads 31, 32 are provided which are spaced apart from one another with respect to the longitudinal axis x and which each project radially outwards beyond an otherwise given circumferential outer surface 33 of the pot wall 17.
[0053] In a preferred embodiment, the outer surface 33 of this pot wall 17 rests against the facing inner surface 34 of the chamber wall 35 in the locking position.
[0054] The two locking beads 31, 32 are in the illustrated embodiment with respect to a cross section according to the illustration in Figure 2 designed the same.
[0055] Thus, each locking bead 31, 32 is initially provided in the insertion direction r of the dispenser pump 6 into the storage container 2 with a leg 36 which forms an acute angle α with an axis parallel y of approximately 30 to 45 degrees as viewed with respect to the longitudinal axis x and which extends radially outwards in an upward direction opposite to the insertion direction r.
[0056] This leg 36 merges at the end into an insertion rounding 37, which in turn runs into a contact surface 38 which, with respect to the longitudinal axis x, runs approximately at right angles to the axis in the longitudinal cross section. The contact surface 38 is accordingly directed opposite and transverse to the insertion direction r.
[0057] Overall, this results in an approximately triangular or wedge-shaped cross-sectional design of the locking bead 31, 32 with a corner formation rounded by the introduction rounding 37.
[0058] Viewed in the direction of extension of the longitudinal axis x, a height a of each locking bead 31, 32 results, which can correspond to approximately 1 / 3 to 2 / 3, furthermore, for example, approximately 1 / 2 of the material thickness of the chamber wall 35. The height dimension a is measured between the root areas of the locking beads 31, 32, in which they run into the outer surface 33 of the pot part 9 (compare Figure 2 ).
[0059] The distance b between the locking beads 31, 32, also considered in the direction of extension of the longitudinal axis x, can correspond to approximately 1.5 to 3 times, furthermore approximately 2 times the locking bead height a.
[0060] The radial extension c viewed transversely to the height a, which in the locking position corresponds to the entry dimension of the locking beads 31, 32 into the chamber wall 35, can correspond to approximately 0.3 to 0.8 times, furthermore approximately 0.5 times the bead height a.
[0061] The locking beads 31, 32 are in the locking position according to Figure 2 into correspondingly arranged and cross-sectionally adapted locking grooves 39 of the chamber wall 35. These locking grooves open accordingly towards the inner surface 34 of the chamber wall 35, whereby, to reinforce the locking position, correspondingly aligned counter-contact surfaces 41 are assigned to the contact surfaces 38 of the locking beads 31, 32, completely covering them.
[0062] In the locking position, the locking beads 31, 32 are in a rear grip position with respect to the counter contact surfaces 41 of the locking grooves 39, 40.
[0063] Due to the chamfered design of the legs 36 and the adjacent insertion curve 37, the locking position can be conveniently located. In particular, the free upper edge of the chamber wall 35, as well as the locking groove 49 initially provided in the insertion direction r, are conveniently overrun. The legs 36 and the insertion curve 37 support this effect.
[0064] A withdrawal of the dispenser pump 6 from the locking position against the insertion direction r is prevented by the possible full-surface contact of the contact surfaces 38 on the counter-contact surfaces 41.
[0065] A first interior space 43 is formed between the cylinder section 10 of the pot part 9 and a piston part wall 42 encompassing this cylinder section 10 and the return device 16. The return device 16 is accommodated in this first interior space, preferably in the form of a cylinder spring.
[0066] The piston part wall 42 is arranged on the piston part 7 via an upper contact cover 44, against which the return device 16 acts on the underside.
[0067] To prevent pressure buildup in the interior space 43 during actuation of the head part 5 and the associated reduction in the volume of the pump chamber 11 as well as the volume of the interior space 43, the system ceiling 44 has an air path 45 that connects the first interior space 43 to the environment using a surrounding second interior space 47. Accordingly, a normal ambient pressure is maintained in the first interior space 43, regardless of the position of the head part 5 relative to the dispenser pump 6.
[0068] The second interior space 47 opens into a gap between the head piece 5 and the pot part 9, which allows for a constant exchange with the ambient air. When the head piece 5 is pressed down, as a result of actuating the dispenser, the first interior space 43 is reduced in size, and air can flow through the air path, specifically the opening 46, into the second interior space 47 and from there via the aforementioned gap into the environment. As noted, the air path 45 in the illustrated embodiment is in the form of a bore-like opening 46 within the end wall 44 (see in particular Figure 4 ).
[0069] In addition, this opening 46 provides improved ventilation and venting of the spring chamber designed underneath.
[0070] Furthermore, during the assembly of the dispenser 1, a check, for example a visual inspection, can be carried out via the opening 46 to determine whether the reset device 16 required for the function of the dispenser 1 is installed. This is usually visible through the opening 46.
