Description

[0001] The invention relates to a drainage device, in particular a siphon, according to the preamble of the independent patent claim, as well as an arrangement comprising a drainage device with a mounting device of a sanitary facility.

[0002] Siphons are known in the art for use with various sanitary fixtures, such as washbasins, showers, bathtubs, toilets, or urinals. Such siphons, generally referred to as drainage devices, are intended, among other things, to prevent the passage of gas from a sewer pipe into the ambient air. This serves the particular purpose of preventing the release of unpleasant odors into the area surrounding the sanitary fixture, i.e., especially into the indoor air.

[0003] There are various designs of siphons. A frequently used form is the so-called tubular siphon, which features a water absorption area to prevent gas from passing between the wastewater pipe and the ambient air. Many siphons, including tubular siphons, have disadvantages in designs where the liquid flowing from the sanitary fixture has a low fall height. The continuous and immediate drainage of the liquid is particularly problematic in such designs, as a certain static pressure must be overcome to allow the liquid to drain away. However, this means that liquid collects up to a certain level and only then drains away in bursts, which is particularly undesirable in sinks, showers, etc. Even particularly space-saving siphon designs are often inadequate when it comes to draining the liquid.

[0004] Drainage devices with an actuating mechanism are known, for example, from KR101450461B1, US1634530A and DE346287C.

[0005] KR101450461B1 describes a siphon-type system in which a flap is used to prevent the release of odors. US1634530A describes a siphon-type system with a flap for draining dirt and foreign matter. DE346287C describes removable lids for a siphon-type system that are attached with a toggle lock.

[0006] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a drainage device, in particular a siphon, which overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art and which enables a continuous and immediate drainage of the liquid even with a low fall height of the draining liquid and / or with a small design of the drainage device and nevertheless ensures the odor trap.

[0007] These and other objects of the present invention are achieved by a drainage device having the features of the independent patent claim.

[0008] The invention thus relates to a drainage device, in particular a siphon, comprising an inlet opening connectable to a sanitary fixture and an outlet opening connectable to a sewer pipe. Furthermore, the device comprises a closure section arranged between the inlet opening and the outlet opening. The passage of gas between the inlet opening and the outlet opening can be prevented by filling the closure section with a liquid.

[0009] According to the invention, it can be provided that an actuating device and a ventilation opening are provided, wherein the actuating device closes the ventilation opening in a rest position and opens the ventilation opening in an activation position, and wherein in the activation position a passage of gas between the drain opening and the ventilation opening is made possible.

[0010] The actuating device can therefore assume at least two different positions. The transition between the rest position and the activation position can be achieved, in particular, by fluid flowing through the drain device.

[0011] According to the invention, it is provided that the actuating device can be brought into the activation position by liquid flowing through the drain device.

[0012] Optionally, the actuating device is designed as an actuating lever pivotable about a pivot axis. An actuating lever can, in particular, have two lever sections arranged on either side of the pivot axis.

[0013] Optionally, the actuating device may comprise a closure element that rests against the ventilation opening in the rest position and closes it. In particular, the closure element may be part of a lever portion of an actuating lever.

[0014] Optionally, the actuating device may include an angled inflow section. The inflow section may optionally be located at an end portion of the actuating device or the actuating lever.

[0015] If necessary, it is provided that a connecting pipe is arranged between the inlet opening and the outlet opening, which pipe comprises the closure section.

[0016] Optionally, it is provided that the connecting pipe comprises a first fall section, a second fall section and a riser section arranged between the first fall section and the second fall section.

[0017] Optionally, it is provided that the closure section is arranged in the region of the first drop section and the riser section, and that the actuating device is arranged in the region of the second drop section.

[0018] Curved connecting sections may optionally be arranged between the drop sections and the riser section. Preferably, the drop sections and the riser section run essentially parallel to each other.

[0019] If necessary, a fastening device is provided for attaching the drainage device to another component. The fastening device can be designed as a locking device or a clamping device.

[0020] If necessary, the fastening device comprises a recess into which a holding area of another component can be inserted.

[0021] Optionally, the drainage device is a tubular siphon. According to the invention, the ventilation opening is arranged in a housing of the drainage device and allows gas to pass between the environment of the drainage device and a connecting pipe arranged between the inlet opening and the outlet opening.

[0022] Optionally, it is provided that the connecting pipe comprises an inlet section in the region of the inlet opening and an outlet section in the region of the outlet opening, wherein the inlet section and the outlet section are arranged substantially orthogonally to one another.

[0023] If necessary, the closure section is arranged between the inlet section and the outlet section.

[0024] If necessary, it is provided that the closure section is arranged in the region of a curved connecting section between the first fall section and the riser section.

[0025] The invention further relates to an arrangement comprising a drainage device according to the invention with a mounting device for a sanitary facility, in particular with a flush-mounted box. The problem described above of the low fall height of the inflowing liquid occurs particularly with flush-mounted boxes, since these are typically designed in a particularly compact manner.

[0026] Optionally, the fastening device is connected to a holding area of the mounting device. The holding area can, for example, be designed as a region that can be connected to the fastening device in a form-fitting manner.

[0027] Where appropriate, the arrangement may also include a sanitary facility, in particular a washbasin.

[0028] Where appropriate, a drain of the sanitary facility is provided for to be connected to the inlet opening of the drainage device.

[0029] Further optional features of the invention emerge from the dependent patent claims, the figures and the description of the embodiments.

[0030] The invention is explained in detail below using an exemplary embodiment. This embodiment merely serves to illustrate the function of a device with preferred features of the invention and is not intended to limit the scope of the patent claims.

[0031] They show: Fig. 1 a side sectional view of a drainage device according to an embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2 a further side sectional view of a drainage device according to the embodiment of the present invention; and Fig. 3 a sectional view of an arrangement of the drainage device according to the embodiment on a flush-mounted box.

[0032] Fig. 1 and 2show two lateral sectional views of a drainage device according to an embodiment of the present invention, wherein the corresponding sectional planes are each arranged approximately orthogonally to one another.

[0033] The drainage device comprises an inlet opening 1 and an outlet opening 2. The inlet opening 1 is designed for connection to a sanitary fixture, such as a washbasin. The outlet opening 2 is designed for connection to a sewer pipe or, more generally, to a sewage system.

[0034] A connecting pipe 12 is arranged between the inlet opening 1 and the outlet opening 2, allowing the passage of liquid from the inlet opening 1 to the outlet opening 2. The drainage device illustrated in this embodiment is designed as a tubular siphon. Accordingly, the connecting pipe 12 comprises a first drop section 13, a second drop section 14, and a riser section 15 arranged between the drop sections 13, 14. The individual sections run essentially parallel to one another. The sections are arranged serially, i.e., one after the other, and are each connected to one another via curved connecting sections. In particular, the connecting pipe 12 in this embodiment is essentially S-shaped.

[0035] In this embodiment, the connecting pipe 12 comprises an inlet section 18 and an outlet section 19, which are arranged substantially orthogonally to one another. The inlet section 18 is arranged in the region of the inlet opening 1, while the outlet section 19 is arranged in the region of the outlet opening 2. The closure section 3, the drop sections 13, 14, and the riser section 15 are arranged between the inlet section 18 and the outlet section 19 in this embodiment.

[0036] In the intended use of the Fig. 1 and 2The siphon shown is intended to prevent the passage of gas from the drain pipe connected to the drain opening 2 into the ambient air of the sanitary fixture connected to the inlet opening 1. This serves the particular purpose of preventing the release of unpleasant odors from the sewage system. Therefore, the drainage device comprises the closure section 3, which in this exemplary embodiment is arranged at the transition between the first fall section 13 and the riser section 15. The closure section 3 can be filled with a liquid, in particular with liquid draining from the sanitary fixture, and when the closure section 3 has a sufficient fill level, the liquid prevents the passage of gas from the drain opening 2 to the inlet opening 1.

[0037] Due to the positioning of the inlet opening 1, the drop height and thus the flow pressure of the incoming liquid are low. To enable immediate and continuous drainage of the liquid from the sanitary fixture, the drainage device according to the invention of this exemplary embodiment comprises an actuating device 4 designed as an actuating lever 7. The actuating lever 7 is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis 6 and can assume at least one rest position and one activation position.

[0038] The actuating lever 7 assumes the rest position when no liquid is flowing through the drain device. In the rest position, a closure element 16 of the actuating lever 7 closes a ventilation opening 5 in the housing 17 of the drain device. The ventilation opening 5 establishes a gas-permeable connection between the interior of the housing 17, i.e., the connecting pipe 12, and the surroundings of the drain device.

[0039] The actuating lever 7 assumes the activation position when liquid flows through the drainage device. The pivoting movement of the actuating lever 7 releases the vent opening 5 from the closure element 16, allowing gas to pass between the drainage opening 2 and the vent opening 5 or the ambient air of the drainage device. This results in pressure equalization between the interior of the drainage device and the ambient air, ensuring continuous drainage of liquid.

[0040] The ventilation opening 5 acts, among other things, as a pressure equalizer between the connecting pipe 12 and the ambient air.

[0041] In order to improve the operation of the actuating lever 7, in this exemplary embodiment it has an angularly arranged inflow section 8. The inflow section 8 has a cross-sectional widening and is arranged at one end of the actuating lever.

[0042] As soon as no more liquid flows through the drain device, for example, after the liquid supply to the sanitary facility has been terminated, the actuating lever moves back to its rest position in the absence of flow pressure from the liquid, preventing gas from passing through the ventilation opening 5 and thus preventing the formation of unpleasant odors in the ambient air. When the liquid flow is restored, the actuating lever 7 is returned to the activation position, as described above.

[0043] The Fig. 1 and 2The drainage device shown additionally has a fastening device 9. The fastening device 9 is arranged on the housing 17 of the drainage device and serves to fasten the drainage device to another component, for example, to a mounting device. In particular, the fastening device 9 according to this embodiment serves to fasten the drainage device to a flush-mounted box.

[0044] Fig. 3shows a sectional view of an arrangement of the drainage device according to the exemplary embodiment on a flush-mounted box. The drainage device with the inlet opening 1 and the outlet opening 2 and the connecting pipe 12 arranged between the inlet opening 1 and the outlet opening 2 is fastened to a wall of a flush-mounted box 10 with the fastening device 9. The wall has a holding area 11 that can be inserted into a recess in the fastening device 9. This facilitates the installation of the drainage device according to the invention.

[0045] To simplify the presentation, some elements that are in the Fig. 1 and 2 shown in the Fig. 3 not reproduced.

[0046] While the embodiment described here shows a tubular siphon, the present invention can also be used with other siphon designs, for example bottle siphons, cup siphons, or the like. List of reference symbols
