[0008] The invention is based on the objective of creating an alternative and / or improved technique for constructing a compressed air module.
[0009] The problem is solved by the features of the independent claims. Advantageous further developments are specified in the dependent claims and the description.
[0010] One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a modular compressed air system for a commercial vehicle, preferably a truck. The modular system comprises several compressed air components and a mounting device that can be attached to the vehicle frame of the commercial vehicle. The mounting device and at least one (e.g., first) part of the several compressed air components can be combined to form a first compressed air module, wherein the first compressed air module comprises an air compressor, at least one compressed air reservoir, and a compressed air preparation system for the several compressed air components. The mounting device and at least one (e.g., second) part of the several compressed air components can be combined to form a second compressed air module, wherein the second compressed air module comprises the at least one compressed air reservoir and the compressed air preparation system, and, instead of the air compressor, at least one further compressed air reservoir for the several compressed air components.
[0011] The modular system offers the advantage of allowing the creation of two compressed air modules for different applications, using a large number of identical components (e.g., mounting bracket, at least one compressed air tank, compressed air preparation system). For example, the first compressed air module can be used with the air compressor for electric commercial vehicles, while the second module, with the additional compressed air tank, can replace the air compressor for internal combustion engine commercial vehicles. This is because the internal combustion engine commercial vehicle may already have an air compressor integrated into the engine block, eliminating the need for the second compressed air module. Therefore, the modular system preferably incorporates interchangeable air compressors and compressed air storage tanks. This allows the compressed air module to be adapted to the vehicle's drive system. The external dimensions and all other (compressed air) components can remain identical. This offers the advantage that the compressed air module can always be used as a single unit across all vehicle variants. This has a significant impact on vehicle development, as a single compressed air module can always be used as the basis, eliminating the need to create new variants for each drive type. Production also benefits from this invention, as the installation dimensions and interfaces are always identical. A complete fleet of electric and combustion engine-powered commercial vehicles can thus be equipped with just two different compressed air modules, which also share many identical parts because they are derived from the same modular system. This enables savings in numerous areas, such as development costs, manufacturing costs, assembly costs, and so on.
[0012] Preferably, the at least one compressed air reservoir and the compressed air preparation are arranged identically in the first compressed air module and in the second compressed air module.
[0013] Preferably, the air compressor in the first compressed air module is arranged in the same way as the at least one further compressed air reservoir in the second compressed air module.
[0014] In one embodiment, the support structure is designed to carry the multiple compressed air components in several, preferably two, vertically spaced levels. This can enable efficient use of installation space. Furthermore, it can be provided, for example, that one of the levels, e.g., an upper level, is used for the air compressor and at least one additional compressed air receiver, i.e., the interchangeable compressed air components. Preferably, another level, e.g., a lower level, can be used for the compressed air components (compressed air preparation, at least one compressed air receiver) that are identical to those of the first and second compressed air modules. This can, for example, simplify the unambiguous identification of the compressed air modules.
[0015] In another embodiment, the support device is designed to at least partially support the multiple compressed air components from below and to suspend them at least partially below the support device. Such an arrangement requires little installation space for the support device and also makes it possible to combine many compressed air components in the compressed air modules.
[0016] In another embodiment, the air compressor is supported on the mounting device, preferably by means of elastic damping elements. This allows, for example, vibration decoupling.
[0017] In another embodiment, at least one further compressed air reservoir is supported, preferably rigidly, on the support device.
[0018] In one embodiment, the at least one compressed air tank and / or the compressed air preparation system is suspended below the support device.
[0019] In another embodiment, the at least one compressed air reservoir has a first compressed air reservoir and a second compressed air reservoir.
[0020] In a further training course, the first and / or second compressed air reservoir in the first compressed air module has a different function than in the second compressed air module. This allows for a response to the respective commercial vehicle-specific requirements (e.g., pneumatically actuated transmission - yes / no) and also takes into account, for example, that the second compressed air module has the additional compressed air reservoir.
[0021] In another embodiment, the first compressed air reservoir is arranged, preferably centrally, between the second compressed air reservoir and the compressed air preparation unit, preferably suspended from the support structure. This allows the compressed air preparation unit to be easily accessible on the outside of the support structure, facilitating simple replacement of wear parts and easy connection of fluid lines to the compressed air preparation unit.
[0022] In another embodiment, the first compressed air tank extends beyond the support structure with respect to a transverse axis of the support structure (e.g., parallel to a transverse axis of the vehicle frame or the commercial vehicle) (e.g., towards the vehicle or below the vehicle frame). This allows unused space under the vehicle frame to be utilized and creates additional space for the compressed air preparation system and the second compressed air tank.
[0023] In one design variant, the first compressed air module has its first compressed air reservoir assigned to a first brake circuit of the commercial vehicle and / or its second compressed air reservoir assigned to a second brake circuit of the commercial vehicle.
[0024] In another variant, in the second compressed air module, the first compressed air reservoir is assigned to the first brake circuit of the commercial vehicle, the second compressed air reservoir to a pneumatic auxiliary consumer (e.g. transmission control or air suspension etc.) of the commercial vehicle and / or at least one further compressed air reservoir is assigned or assignable to the second brake circuit.
[0025] In another embodiment, the support structure comprises a first, e.g., L-shaped, support and a second, e.g., L-shaped, support, which are preferably connected to each other by at least one transverse element (e.g., cross brace, plate). Preferably, the first and second supports are identical components, and / or the structure includes several transverse elements that are identical components. This can reduce part variation and manufacturing costs, and also prevent incorrect assembly. The L-shaped supports can provide ample space for arranging compressed air components, e.g., above and below the L-shaped supports.
[0026] In one embodiment, the support device, preferably a horizontal leg of an L-shaped support beam, has at least one, preferably rectangular, through-hole through which a tension band is stretched, supporting a pressure vessel of the at least one pressure vessel. Thus, a receptacle for the tension band can be integrated directly into the support device. It is not necessary to attach a separate bracket for securing the tension band to the support device.
[0027] In a further training course, at least one through-hole in the area of contact with the tension band is rounded or chamfered. Alternatively or additionally, for example, a lower edge of the support device in the area of contact with the pressure vessel can be rounded or chamfered. This reduces the risk of damage to the tension band and the pressure vessel.
[0028] In a further embodiment, the support device has at least one collar section for flat contact with the vehicle frame, wherein preferably the at least one collar section is reinforced by, preferably welded, support ribs.
[0029] In another embodiment, the air compressor has a replaceable filter, and the support structure has a reinforcing strut (e.g., diagonal strut and / or tension rod) with a recess (e.g., indentation, notch, hole). The recess provides the necessary assembly space for changing the replaceable filter, whereby the replaceable filter must be guided through the recess during disassembly or assembly.
[0030] In another embodiment, the compressed air preparation system includes an air dryer, a pressure regulator and / or a multi-circuit protection valve, preferably a four-circuit protection valve, preferably as an integrated device.
[0031] It is noted that the first compressed air module and the second compressed air module disclosed herein are also each disclosed individually and independently of the compressed air module modular system.
[0032] Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to an electrically driven commercial vehicle, preferably a truck, comprising the first compressed air module which can be combined from the compressed air module modular system as disclosed herein.
[0033] Preferably, the first compressed air module is mounted on a vehicle frame, e.g. ladder frame, of the commercial vehicle, e.g. outside and / or between a front axle and a rear axle of the commercial vehicle.
[0034] Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to an internal combustion engine-powered commercial vehicle, preferably a truck, comprising the second compressed air module, which can be combined from the compressed air module modular system as disclosed herein.
[0035] Preferably, the second compressed air module is mounted on a vehicle frame, e.g. ladder frame, of the commercial vehicle, e.g. outside and / or between a front axle and a rear axle of the commercial vehicle.
[0036] Particularly preferably, the internal combustion engine-powered commercial vehicle has an internal combustion engine in which an air compressor is included, preferably integrated.
[0037] The preferred embodiments and features of the invention described above can be combined in any way desired. Further details and advantages of the invention are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. These show: Figure 1 is a top view of a vehicle frame of a commercial vehicle; Figure 2 is a perspective view of an exemplary support device for a compressed air module; Figure 3 is a perspective view of an exemplary compressed air module; Figure 4 is a side view of the exemplary compressed air module; Figure 5 is another side view of the exemplary compressed air module; Figure 6 is a perspective view of another exemplary compressed air module; Figure 7 is a side view of another exemplary compressed air module; Figure 8 is another side view of another exemplary compressed air module; and Figure 9 is a perspective view of a holder of the exemplary support device for holding a compressed air preparation unit.
[0038] The embodiments shown in the figures correspond at least partially, so that similar or identical parts are provided with the same reference numerals and for their explanation reference is also made to the description of the other embodiments or figures in order to avoid repetition.
[0039] Figure 1 Figure 1 shows a (vehicle) frame 10 of a commercial vehicle. The commercial vehicle is preferably a truck. The frame 10 is designed as a ladder frame. The frame 10 has two longitudinal members 12. The two longitudinal members 12 run essentially parallel to each other. The two longitudinal members 12 are connected to each other by means of several cross members 14. It is also possible that the frame 10 is not designed as a ladder frame, but, for example, as a lattice frame. The frame 10 can be supported on several axles of the commercial vehicle, for example, on a front axle 16 and a rear axle 18, as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1is shown.
[0040] Depending on the design, the commercial vehicle can be, for example, an electrically powered commercial vehicle or a commercial vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine. The drive unit 20 (optionally including transmission, power electronics, etc.) can, for example, be located in a front area of the frame 10. The drive unit 20 can, for example, be connected to a driveshaft 22 for driving the rear axle 18. It is understood that drive concepts without a central drive unit are also covered by this disclosure, for example, wheel hub motors, wheel-mounted motors, etc.
[0041] The frame 10 carries a compressed air module 24. Preferably, the compressed air module 24 is attached to an outer side of the frame 10, particularly preferably to the outside of one of the longitudinal members 12 of the frame 10. For example, the compressed air module 24 is arranged between the front axle 16 and the rear axle 18, which is particularly advantageous in terms of installation and space requirements. The compressed air module 24 incorporates a variety of compressed air-related functions, as described in more detail below by way of example.
[0042] A special feature of the present disclosure is that the compressed air module 24 can be combined or assembled from a modular system. Preferably, at least two different variants of the compressed air module 24 can be provided using this modular system. The first variant of the compressed air module 24 (also referred to herein as the first compressed air module 24A) is intended for use in an electrically powered commercial vehicle. The second variant of the compressed air module 24 (also referred to herein as the second compressed air module 24B) is intended for use in an internal combustion engine-powered commercial vehicle. Details of this will be provided later herein, for example, with reference to the Figures 3 to 8 explained.
[0043] Figure 2 shows an exemplary support device 26 of the compressed air module 24 of Figure 1The support device 26 can offer the special feature that it can be used as a common part for several compressed air modules 24 that can be combined from the modular building system.
[0044] The support device 26 is designed to be attached to the frame 10 of the commercial vehicle. The support device 26 can, for example, have two beams 28, two cross members 30, and optionally two reinforcing struts 32. It is possible for the support device to have a different number of beams 28, cross members 30, and / or reinforcing struts 32. If there are multiple beams 28, multiple cross members 30, and / or multiple reinforcing struts 32, these can each be identical components.
[0045] The beams 28 are preferably designed as L-shaped beams. Each beam 28 can have a vertical leg 34 and a horizontal leg 36. The beams 28 can be designed, for example, as sheet metal parts (e.g., deep-drawn parts) or as welded structures.
[0046] The vertical leg 34 of the support 28 is attached to the frame 10, for example by means of detachable screw connections. The vertical leg 34 can, for example, have a U-shaped cross-section. The vertical leg 34 can have a collar section 38. The collar section 38 can be reinforced with support ribs 40, preferably welded in place. The collar section 38 can have through holes that serve to attach the support 28 to the frame 10.
[0047] The horizontal leg 36 of the beam 28 is designed to support multiple compressed air components. The beam 28 can support compressed air components at multiple levels. For example, compressed air components can be supported above the horizontal legs 36. Compressed air components can also be suspended from the horizontal legs 36. The horizontal legs 36 of the beam 28 can be connected to each other by the cross braces 30. For example, the cross braces 30 can be welded onto the beam 28. The cross braces 30 can also support compressed air components.
[0048] The horizontal leg 36 can have a U-shaped cross-section. The horizontal leg 36 preferably has at least one, preferably rectangular, through-hole 42. A tension band (in Figure 2(not shown) with which a compressed air component (e.g., a compressed air tank), preferably suspended below the support 28, can be carried. Preferably, several through-holes 42 for several tensioning straps are included. Preferably, through-holes 42 aligned with each other can also be included in both horizontal legs 36 for the passage of the same tensioning strap. This allows for the creation of multiple attachment points for the same tensioning strap.
[0049] The reinforcing struts 32 can connect the horizontal leg 36 and the vertical leg 34. The reinforcing struts 32 act as tension rods and can, for example, ensure a uniform distribution of force into the legs 34 and the frame 10. The reinforcing struts can extend diagonally between the legs 34 and 36.
[0050] Optionally, at least one bracket 44 for holding one or more compressed air components can be attached to the support 28. The bracket 44 is suspended from the support 28 and is located below the support 28.
[0051] The Figures 3 to 5 They show the first compressed air module 24A. Figures 6 to 8 The second compressed air module 24B is shown. Both compressed air modules 24A and 24B can be combined from the modular system, using the support device 26 as an identical part.
[0052] Both compressed air modules 24A and 24B have several compressed air components, some of which are used as identical parts. It is possible that at least one compressed air component used as an identical part has a different function in the first compressed air module 24A and the second compressed air module 24B.
[0053] Both compressed air modules 24A and 24B have a (first) compressed air reservoir 46, a (second) compressed air reservoir 48, and a compressed air preparation unit 50 with, for example, a compressed air valve assembly 52 and an air dryer 54. The first compressed air module 24A also has an air compressor 56. Instead of the air compressor 56, the second compressed air module 24B has a (third) compressed air reservoir 58.
[0054] The first compressed air module 24A is intended for use with an electrically powered commercial vehicle. The second compressed air module 24B is intended for use with an internal combustion engine-powered commercial vehicle. The internal combustion engine-powered commercial vehicle may already have an air compressor integrated into its drive unit 20. For example, a compressor housing may be cast together with the engine block of the internal combustion engine (= drive unit 20). Therefore, it is not necessary for the second compressed air module 24B to have an air compressor. In contrast, an air compressor cannot be integrated into the drive unit 20 of the electrically powered commercial vehicle. Therefore, it is preferred that the first compressed air module 24A includes the air compressor 56. In the second compressed air module 24B, the compressed air reservoir 58 may be arranged instead of an air compressor. The arrangement of the compressed air tank also makes sense from a space perspective, as there is a relatively large amount of space available in the area where the air compressor 56 is located in the first compressed air module 24A. The arrangement of the compressed air tank allows for the integration of further compressed air-related functions in the second compressed air module 24B.
[0055] The compressed air reservoir 46 is identical in construction and arrangement for both the first compressed air module 24A and the second compressed air module 24B. The compressed air reservoir 46 can be assigned to a brake circuit of the commercial vehicle in both compressed air modules 24A and 24B, for example, a front axle brake circuit. The compressed air reservoir 46 is suspended below the support device 26, preferably centrally. Several tension bands 60 can secure the compressed air reservoir 46 at the opposing through-holes 42 (see figure). Figures 4 and 7The horizontal legs 36 are positioned centrally between the supports 28. The compressed air tank 46 can, for example, be a 40-liter compressed air tank.
[0056] To prevent damage to the tension bands 60, the preferably rectangular through-holes 42 can be chamfered or rounded, preferably in sections that directly abut the tension bands 60. To prevent damage to the compressed air reservoir 46, a lower edge of the leg 36 that contacts the compressed air reservoir 46 can be chamfered or rounded.
[0057] The compressed air reservoir 46 can be arranged with an end section directly below the longitudinal beam 12 in order to create, for example, more installation space for the compressed air reservoir 48 and the integrated compressed air treatment system 50 (see Figures 5 and 8In other words, the compressed air reservoir 46 extends beyond the support structure 26 with respect to a transverse axis of the support structure 26. The compressed air reservoir 48 and the compressed air preparation unit 50 can be arranged on opposite sides of the compressed air reservoir 46.
[0058] The compressed air reservoir 48 is identical in construction and arrangement for both the first compressed air module 24A and the second compressed air module 24B. However, the compressed air reservoir 48 can perform a different function in the first compressed air module 24A than in the second compressed air module 24B. For example, in the first compressed air module 24A, the compressed air reservoir 48 can be assigned to a second brake circuit of the commercial vehicle, such as a rear axle brake circuit. In the second compressed air module 24B, on the other hand, the compressed air reservoir 48 can be assigned to a pneumatic transmission control system for a transmission, such as an automatic transmission. The compressed air reservoir 48 can also be assigned to another pneumatic auxiliary consumer, such as the air suspension of the commercial vehicle. The compressed air reservoir 48 is suspended below the support device 26, for example, by means of a tension band (not shown) attached to a bracket that is mounted on the support 28.The compressed air tank 48 can, for example, be an 8-liter compressed air tank.
[0059] Figure 9 Figure 50 shows the compressed air preparation unit 50 in greater detail. The compressed air preparation unit 50 is identical in design and arrangement for both the first compressed air module 24A and the second compressed air module 24B. The air dryer 54 is designed for dehumidifying air. The air dryer 54 may have a replaceable cartridge. The compressed air valve assembly 52 may, for example, include a pressure regulator, check valves, and a multi-circuit safety valve for the different compressed air circuits, preferably brake circuits, of the commercial vehicle.
[0060] The compressed air preparation unit 50 is suspended from the support device 26 by means of the bracket 44. The compressed air preparation unit 50 is located below the support device 26. The bracket 44 can be connected to the compressed air preparation unit 50 at several connection points. The bracket 44 is also connected to the horizontal arms 36 at several connection points. The compressed air preparation unit 50 can thus be securely held from several sides.
[0061] The air compressor 56 of the first compressed air module 24A compresses air into compressed air. The air compressor 56 can comprise a compressor section and a drive section. The air compressor 56 is supported on the horizontal legs 36 and the cross braces 30. The air compressor 56 is arranged above the horizontal legs 36 and the cross braces 30. Preferably, the air compressor 56 is damped on the support structure 26 by means of elastic damping elements 62. The air compressor 56 can be supported by the damping elements 62, for example, by means of a four-point bearing. The damping elements 62 can decouple the air compressor 56 from the support structure 26 and thus from the frame 10 with respect to vibration. The air compressor 56 can be oriented such that the solid cooling fins of the drive section of the air compressor 56 are mounted facing outwards. The massive drive component can therefore provide a certain degree of protection.
[0062] The air compressor 56 of the first compressed air module 24A can have a replaceable filter 64, preferably an air filter or an oil filter. To provide sufficient installation space for changing the filter 64, the reinforcing strut 32 can have a recess 66, e.g., in the form of a notch, depression, or through-hole. During replacement, the filter 64 can be guided through or along the recess 66, e.g., parallel to the longitudinal axis of the commercial vehicle (see Figure 1). Figure 5 ).
[0063] The compressed air reservoir 58 of the second compressed air module 24B is supported on the horizontal legs 36 and the cross members 30, e.g., by means of intermediate brackets 68 that rest on the cross members 30. The compressed air reservoir 58 can be fastened to the brackets 68 by means of tension bands (not shown). The compressed air reservoir 58 is located above the horizontal legs 36 of the cross member 30. The compressed air reservoir 58 can advantageously be assigned to a rear axle brake circuit of the commercial vehicle. The compressed air reservoir 58 can, for example, be a 40-liter compressed air reservoir.
[0064] The invention is not limited to the preferred embodiments described above. Reference symbol list
