AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing starter attachment methods for internal combustion engines require additional components like slugs and screws, complicating assembly and increasing material accumulation, which is inefficient and unnecessary.

Method used

A starter assembly with a holder attached to guide rods and a locking pin, allowing the starter to be inserted into a receiving bore in the crankcase, simplifying attachment and reducing material accumulation while improving accessibility.

Benefits of technology

Enhances assembly efficiency by improving screw accessibility and minimizing unnecessary material on the crankcase, thereby optimizing the starter's attachment process.

Description

[0001] The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with a universal bracket on an electric starter, in particular for laying the cable harness.

[0002] Starter devices are known in which the starter is bolted to a flange surface perpendicular to the starter axis. The fastening screws are screwed axially to the starter axis. Wiring harness attachments are also known that are realized via slugs on the engine's crankcase below the starter using individual sheet metal holders.

[0003] This is disadvantageous because it requires additional slugs that are actually not necessary.

[0004] An internal combustion engine with a starter and a starter gear is known from CN 111 441 890 A. The starter is attached to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine with a mounting half-shell and extends through an opening in a housing end element.

[0005] CN 102 042 390 A discloses an internal combustion engine having a starter with a starter gear. The starter is accommodated in an opening in a cylinder block of the internal combustion engine. The opening is formed by a recess in the cylinder block and a flange section that is screwed to the cylinder block.

[0006] US Pat. No. 3,536,051 A discloses an internal combustion engine with a starter and a starter gear. The starter is attached to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine via a first bracket, and the starter gear is attached to a second bracket. Another internal combustion engine is known from US Pat. No. 2,760,377 A.

[0007] It is therefore the object of the present invention to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages.

[0008] The solution to this problem provides an internal combustion engine comprising at least one starter with a starter gear arranged at the opposite end of the crankshaft or at the same end to transmit the rotation of the starter to the crankshaft. The starter is attached to the crankcase of the internal combustion engine and is inserted into a receiving bore and arranged to be fastened to the crankcase with at least one screw. A holder is arranged on the starter. This has the advantage that the accessibility of the fastening screws is significantly improved, while at the same time avoiding unnecessary accumulation of material on the crankcase.

[0009] The invention is defined in independent claim 1.

[0010] Further advantageous developments are contained in the subclaims.

[0011] The invention will be explained in more detail using exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Figure 1a starter assembly with holder, Figure 2a holder with locking pin and mounting hole, Figure 3a side view of the holder from Figure 1 , Figure 4 a starter with holder, support plate and cable harness arranged on the support plate.

[0012] Figure 1 shows a starter 1, which is detachably connected to the crankcase 4 by means of two screws 2 and which has a holder 5, which is fastened to two guide rods 6 and which has a locking pin 8, which engages in a corresponding recess in the starter outer skin, so that the holder is arranged non-displaceably on the starter 1. The holder 5 has two receiving bores 7, into which a support plate 3 can be screwed, which is suitable for receiving cable harnesses and / or fluid pipes.

[0013] In Figure 2 A holder 5 with a locking pin 8 and receiving holes 7 is shown. The holder 5 is attached to two guide rods 6 and has a locking pin 8 that engages in a corresponding recess in the starter outer skin, so that the holder is arranged immovably on the starter 1. The holder 5 has two receiving holes 7 into which a support plate 3 can be screwed, which is suitable for receiving cable harnesses and / or fluid pipes.

[0014] Figure 3 shows a side view of the holder 5 from Figure 1. The holder 5 is suspended from two guide rods 6 by means of the suspension contour for attachment to the starter 1 and has a locking pin 8 that engages in a corresponding recess in the starter outer skin, so that the holder is fixedly arranged on the starter 1. The holder 5 has two receiving bores 7 into which a support plate 3 can be screwed, which is suitable for receiving cable harnesses and / or fluid pipes.

[0015] Figure 4shows a starter with a bracket, support plate, and a wiring harness arranged on the support plate. The bracket 5 is suspended from two guide rods 6 by means of the suspension contour for attachment to the starter 1 and has a locking pin 8 that engages in a corresponding recess in the starter outer skin, so that the bracket is fixedly arranged on the starter 1. The bracket 5 has two mounting holes 7 into which a support plate 3 can be screwed. This support plate is suitable for accommodating wiring harnesses and / or fluid pipes.

[0016] To reduce possible vibrations of the free starter end, an additional support plate can be attached to the starter end. List of reference symbols
