Therefore, the features defined with "first" and "second" may explicitly or implicitly include one or more of these features. In the description of the present invention, the term "a plurality of" means two or more unless otherwise specified.

[0015] A ducted air conditioner in the present invention performs a refrigeration cycle of the ducted air conditioner by using a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator. The refrigeration cycle includes a series of processes involving compression, condensation, expansion and evaporation, and a process of supplying refrigerant to air that has been conditioned and heat-exchanged.

[0016] The compressor compresses refrigerant gas in a state of high temperature and high pressure and discharges the compressed refrigerant gas. The discharged refrigerant gas flows into the condenser. The condenser condenses the compressed refrigerant into a liquid phase, and heat is released to a surrounding environment through the condensation process.

[0017] The expansion valve expands the liquid-phase refrigerant that is condensed in the condenser and is in the state of high temperature and high pressure into a liquid-phase refrigerant that is in a state of low pressure. The evaporator evaporates the refrigerant expanded in the expansion valve, and makes refrigerant gas in a state of low temperature and low pressure return to the compressor. The evaporator may achieve a refrigeration effect through heat exchange between latent heat of evaporation of the refrigerant and a material to be cooled. Throughout the refrigeration cycle, the ducted air conditioner may regulate a temperature of an indoor space.

[0018] An outdoor unit of an air conditioning system refers to a part of the refrigeration cycle which includes the compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger. An indoor unit (e.g., the ducted air conditioner) of the air conditioning system includes an indoor heat exchanger, and the expansion valve may be provided in the indoor unit or the outdoor unit.

[0019] The indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger are used as the condensers or the evaporators. In a case where the indoor heat exchanger is used as the condenser, the ducted air conditioner is used as a heater in a heating mode. In a case where the indoor heat exchanger is used as the evaporator, the ducted air conditioner is used as a cooler in a refrigeration mode.

[0020] In an embodiment of the present invention, functional components of the ducted air conditioner include a fan system and a heat exchange system, which are arranged in separate spaces. The fan system makes air flow having a pressure enter a space where the heat exchange system is located, and after being heat exchanged by the heat exchange system, the air flow enters the air duct. Then, the air flow having the pressure enters each room through the air duct for refrigeration or heating.

[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the ducted air conditioner of the present invention includes a housing 1, a heat-retaining and drainage device 2, a heat exchange system 3 and a fan system 4.
