Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a sensor support for a hermetic transformer immersed in a liquid, a transformation assembly and a safety assembly comprising such a sensor support, as well as a transformation installation comprising such a safety assembly.

[0002] The focus here is on hermetic electrical transformers cooled by a coolant. Such a transformer comprises a hermetic enclosure, which houses the transformer coils and which is filled with the coolant, so as to cool the transformer coils. Such a coolant is for example an oil or a mixture of oils, an ester or a mixture of esters. A hermetic transformer is generally equipped with at least one safety device, which is generally directly mounted on an orifice made on an upper wall of the enclosure and which monitors at least one parameter related to the operation of the transformer, in particular a level of the coolant in the enclosure, a temperature of this liquid, the presence of bubbles, water, vibrations, etc. If one of the parameters exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the safety device controls the disconnection of the transformer.

[0003] In the event of a transformer malfunction, particularly an electrical or thermal fault within the transformer, for example when a transient electrical arc occurs, the liquid degrades, leading to the formation of gas, particularly hydrogen. The hydrogen is initially found in dissolved form in the liquid. The dissolved hydrogen diffuses rapidly throughout the enclosure and, within a few minutes of the electrical fault, the dissolved hydrogen concentration is substantially homogeneous and equal to an average value. If the dissolved hydrogen concentration continues to increase, hydrogen in gaseous form may form, leading to the risk of explosion. It is therefore important to automatically and periodically measure the dissolved hydrogen concentration reliably to be alerted to the appearance and / or development of such a fault. This makes it possible to intervene before a parameter - for example a gas bubble - triggers the safety device, so as to avoid disconnection of the transformer, which leads to an uncontrolled power outage. By measurement "reliably" we mean that the measured value is substantially equal to the actual average value in the enclosure.

[0004] EP3291255 describes, for example, a bidirectional coolant flow adapter, this adapter being mounted on a valve port and used to take samples of this liquid, a dissolved gas content in the samples then being analyzed. Such a method gives precise and reliable values, but requires physical sampling, which is relatively cumbersome and expensive due to the installation of valves and pumping systems. The frequency of measurements is therefore relatively low, which does not allow for anticipating the development of faults, and thus does not prevent untimely disconnection of the transformer in the event of a fault.

[0005] It is also known to equip an existing safety device with a dissolved hydrogen sensor. However, this approach does not offer satisfactory responsiveness, i.e., in the event of an electrical fault, it takes too long before a reliable measurement of the dissolved hydrogen level can be obtained, and the safety system risks triggering without warning.

[0006] It is also known to directly drill a wall of the enclosure, to fix a dissolved hydrogen sensor. The measurements obtained are reliable, however the installation operation is complex and risky, requiring to drain - at least partially - the coolant contained in the enclosure before drilling, metal shavings risk falling into the enclosure. Also, such an approach is relatively cumbersome and expensive to implement if it is not planned from the manufacture of the enclosure, before the installation of the transformer in the enclosure.

[0007] It is these problems that the invention aims to address more specifically, by proposing a device which facilitates the mounting of sensor(s), in particular hydrogen sensor(s), while allowing reliable measurements.

[0008] For this purpose, the invention relates to a sensor support for a hermetic transformer. According to the invention: the sensor support comprises a main body which forms a cavity, the cavity having an elongated shape extending along a longitudinal axis and opening outside the main body: by a first mouth, which is located at a longitudinal end of the cavity and which is configured to be fluidically connected to an orifice arranged in a wall of the transformer, by at least one fluidic port, each fluidic port being different from the first mouth, the at least one fluidic port includes a main port, which is configured to be fluidically connected to a detection device, in particular a dissolved hydrogen probe, and a section of the cavity is at least as large as a section of the first mouth.

[0009] Thanks to the invention, it is possible to mount a sensor, in particular a dissolved hydrogen probe, on a pre-existing orifice on the transformer enclosure. The sensor is thus quickly and easily mounted. In particular, when the wall on which the orifice is provided is an upper wall of the enclosure, the sensor is mounted without having to drain the cooling fluid. The sensor support is thus particularly suitable for upgrading transformers already in service.

[0010] According to advantageous but not mandatory aspects of the invention, such a sensor support may incorporate one or more of the following features taken in isolation or in any technically admissible combination: the at least one fluidic port includes, in addition to the main port, a purge port, which is configured to be fluidically connected to a purge device, provided for purging gas bubbles possibly present in the cavity when the sensor support is in a use configuration, in which the first mouth is fluidically connected to the orifice, the transformer being filled with a coolant. Each fluidic port is arranged radially to the longitudinal axis. The fluidic ports include, in addition to the main port, at least one additional secondary port, each secondary port being configured to be fluidically connected to an accessory, for example a valve or an additional measuring device.the at least one additional secondary port includes a port that has a mounting axis that is inclined relative to the longitudinal axis, such that the mounting axis passes through the first mouthpiece, the mounting axis preferably being substantially oriented toward a center of the first mouthpiece. The sensor support comprises a tube, which has an elongated shape with a length at least equal to a height of the cavity, preferably greater than this height, the tube comprising two end openings, while the tube is at least partly received in the cavity and passes through the first mouth, a central axis of the tube being aligned with the longitudinal axis of the cavity, one of the two end openings opening into the cavity, while the other end opening opens out of the cavity, and the tube is configured to promote convection movements of the coolant in the cavity when the sensor support is in the use configuration. The main body is made of a thermally conductive material. The cavity opens to the outside of the main body through a second mouth, different from the first mouth and the fluid ports, while the second mouth is oriented opposite the first mouth along the longitudinal axis and is configured to be fluidically connected to an accessory, for example a transformer safety device, and the first mouth and the second mouth each extend along a plane orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The second mouth has a diameter equal to a diameter of the first mouth.

[0011] The invention also relates to a transformation assembly, which comprises a hermetic transformer and a sensor support as described above, in which: the hermetic transformer comprises an enclosure, which delimits an internal volume and which comprises an upper wall, in which an orifice is arranged, the sensor support is fixed in a sealed manner to the upper wall, the first mouthpiece being fluidically connected to the orifice.

[0012] Advantageously: the orifice is provided for the fluid connection of a safety device, while the orifice has a diameter equal to 60 mm, and the first mouth has a diameter equal to 60 mm. The sensor support is as described previously, the second mouth being closed by a closing member.

[0013] The invention also relates to a safety assembly for a hermetic transformer, the safety assembly comprising: a safety device, comprising a fluid inlet configured to be connected to an orifice provided in a wall of the hermetic transformer, and a sensor support as defined previously, wherein the second mouth of the sensor holder is fluidically connected to the fluidic inlet of the safety assembly.

[0014] The invention finally relates to a transformation installation, comprising: a hermetic transformer, and a safety assembly as defined previously, in which: the hermetic transformer comprises an enclosure, which delimits an internal volume and which comprises an upper wall, in which an orifice is formed, the first mouthpiece is fluidically connected to the orifice.

[0015] The invention will be better understood, and other advantages thereof will appear more clearly in the light of the following description of several embodiments of a sensor support, a transformation assembly, a safety assembly and a transformation installation, in accordance with its principle, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which: [ Fig 1 ] there figure 1 is a cutaway of a perspective view of a transformation installation in accordance with a first embodiment of the invention, the transformation installation comprising a sensor support also in accordance with the first embodiment of the invention; [ Fig 2 ] there figure 2 is a section, according to plan II at the figure 1 , of a detail of the transformation installation of the figure 1 ; [ Fig 3 ] there figure 3 represents respectively, on two inserts a) and b), a detail of a transformation installation and a transformation assembly, in accordance with alternative embodiments of the invention; [ Fig 4 ] there figure 4 represents respectively, on two inserts a) and b), sensor supports in accordance with alternative embodiments of the invention, and [ Fig 5 ] there figure 5 is a sectional view of a sensor support according to another embodiment of the invention.

[0016] A processing plant 10 is shown in the figure 1 . The transformation installation 10 comprises a hermetic transformer 20, also simply called transformer 20 in the remainder of the description. The transformer 20 comprises an enclosure 22, and a transformation device 24, here represented by windings 26 and a magnetic core 28, the enclosure 22 providing an internal volume V22 in which the transformation device 24 is received. In operation, the internal volume V22 is filled with a cooling liquid, in which the transformation device 24 is immersed. The cooling liquid is not shown. In operation, the transformation device 24 generates heat, which is absorbed by the cooling liquid. In the example illustrated, the enclosure 22 advantageously comprises cooling fins 30, which are arranged outside the enclosure 22 and which are configured to dissipate the heat absorbed by the cooling liquid, in other words to cool the enclosure 22.

[0017] On the figure 1 , the transformer installation 10 is shown in a configuration of use, the transformer 20 being here assumed to be placed on a horizontal surface. The enclosure 22 comprises an upper wall 32, which is here oriented towards the top of the figure 1 . Schematically, when the transformation installation 10 is in operation, the cooling liquid heats up in contact with the transformation device 24, and cools down in contact with the walls of the enclosure 22, which creates a convective movement of the cooling liquid within the enclosure 22.

[0018] In the first embodiment, the transformation installation 10 also comprises a safety assembly 50. The safety assembly 50 comprises a safety device 60 and a sensor support 100. The safety assembly 50 is fixed to the enclosure 22, opposite an orifice 34 formed in a wall of the enclosure 22. Preferably, the orifice 34 is formed in the upper wall 32. The safety assembly 50 and the upper wall 32 are visible on a larger scale and in section on the figure 2 . In the illustrated example, the safety assembly 50 also comprises a detection device 110, in particular a dissolved hydrogen probe, which is attached to the sensor support 100.

[0019] The safety device 60 is shown in a schematic and non-limiting manner.

[0020] In reference to the figure 2 , the safety device 60 comprises a fluid inlet 62, configured to receive the cooling fluid, and measuring instruments 64, configured to perform measurements when the cooling fluid is present in the fluid inlet 62. According to non-limiting examples, the measuring instruments 64 are configured to perform a measurement of the level of the cooling liquid, and / or a measurement of the temperature of the liquid, and / or a measurement of the water content in the liquid, etc.

[0021] In the illustrated example, the safety device 60 also comprises a purge 65, which is provided to purge gas bubbles, in particular air or hydrogen, which may be present in the coolant.

[0022] Preferably, the orifice 34 is an orifice provided for connection to the safety device 60, in particular for connection to the fluid inlet 62, that is to say that in the absence of the sensor support 100, the safety device 60 is directly connectable to the orifice 34. The orifice 34 advantageously has a diameter D34 compatible with existing safety devices 60. In particular, the diameter D34 of the orifice 34 is preferably equal to 60 mm.

[0023] The sensor support 100 is now described.

[0024] The sensor support 100 comprises a main body 102, which provides a cavity V102. The cavity V102 has an elongated shape and extends along a longitudinal axis A102 and comprises two opposite ends. The cavity V102 preferably has a cylindrical shape of circular section centered on the longitudinal axis A102, as shown in the figure 2 . We define a height H102 of the cavity V102 as being a distance, along the longitudinal axis A102, between its two ends.

[0025] The cavity V102 opens, at one of the two ends, to the outside of the main body 102 via a first mouth 104, which is configured to be fluidically connected to the orifice 34. A section of the cavity V102 is at least as large as a section of the first mouth 104, so as to promote the movements of the cooling liquid between the internal volume V22 of the enclosure 22 and the cavity V102.

[0026] Preferably, a ratio between the height H102 of the cavity V102 and a diameter D104 of the first mouth 104 is less than 3, preferably less than 2.5, more preferably less than 2. Preferably, the height H102 of the cavity V102 is less than 200 mm, more preferably less than 150 mm, more preferably less than 120 mm.

[0027] In this embodiment, the cavity V102 also opens to the outside of the main body 102 through several fluid ports. Each of the fluid ports is different from the first opening 104.

[0028] The cavity V102 also opens to the outside of the body 102 through a second mouth 108, different from the first mouth 104 and the fluid ports.

[0029] The second mouthpiece 108 is oriented opposite the first mouthpiece 104 along the longitudinal axis A102 and is configured to be fluidically connected to an accessory. In the illustrated example, the second mouthpiece 108 is fluidically connected to the safety device 60 of the transformer 20. More specifically, the second mouthpiece 108 of the sensor support 100 is fluidically connected to the fluidic inlet 62 of the safety device 60.

[0030] In other words, the sensor support 100 is interposed between the safety device 60 and the orifice 34 of the wall 32. Preferably, the first mouth 104 and the second mouth 108 each extend along a plane orthogonal to the longitudinal axis A102. Preferably, the second mouth 108 has a diameter D108 which is equal to the diameter D104 of the first mouth 104.

[0031] The fluid ports are two in number here, and include a main port 106A, which is configured to be fluidically connected to a detection device 110, in particular a dissolved hydrogen probe, and a purge port 106B, which is configured to be fluidically connected to a purge device 109.

[0032] When the detection device 110 is mounted on the main port 106A and the sensor support 100 is in a use configuration, that is to say when the first mouth 104 is fluidically connected to the orifice 34, the enclosure 22 being filled with a cooling liquid, the detection device 110 is in contact with the cooling liquid present in the cavity V102. Thus the shape of the cavity V102, in particular the height H102 of the cavity V102, is chosen according to the type of the detection device 110.

[0033] The purge device 109 is provided for purging gas bubbles, in particular air or hydrogen, which would be present in the cavity V102 when the sensor support 100 is in a use configuration, that is to say when the first mouth 104 is fluidically connected to the orifice 34, the enclosure 22 being filled with a cooling liquid. The purge device 109 is here represented schematically by a manual valve. According to alternatives not shown, the purge device 109 is a plug, or even a protection relay. The arrangement of the purge port 106B and the purge device 109 as shown in the figures is schematic and non-limiting.

[0034] In the example of the figure 2 , the purge device 109 is optional, because the safety device 60 already includes the purge 65. More generally, it is understood that when an accessory, whether an accessory of the type of the safety device 60 or of another type, is mounted to the sensor support 100 and this accessory already includes a purge, then it is not necessary for the sensor support 100 to include the purge device 109.

[0035] The sensor support 100, interposed between the orifice 34 and the safety device 60, thus allows the installation of the detection device 110, without having to modify the enclosure 22 of the transformer. Preferably, the fluid ports are distributed around the longitudinal axis A102 so as to facilitate the installation of the detection device 110, in particular without having to modify the orifice 34.

[0036] In the illustrated example, the fluid ports are arranged radially to the longitudinal axis A102. Preferably, the fluid ports are regularly distributed around the longitudinal axis A102.

[0037] In the illustrated example, the sensor support 100 advantageously comprises a tube 120, which has an elongated shape extending along a central axis A120. The tube 120 is open at its two ends and has a length L120, measured between its two ends parallel to the main axis A120. The length L120 of the tube 120 is at least equal to the height H102 of the cavity V102, preferably greater than this height H102. The tube 120 comprises, at each of its ends, an end opening 122. The tube 120 is integral with the body 102, that is to say that the tube 120 is considered to be fixed relative to the main body 102. For example, the tube 120 is fixed to the main body 102 by fixing lugs, which extend between the main body 102 and the tube 120. The fixing lugs are not shown.

[0038] The tube 120 is partially received in the cavity V102 and passes through the first mouth 104, such that a first of the two end openings 122 opens into the cavity V102, while the other end opening opens out of the cavity V102. Thus, when the first mouth 104 is connected to the orifice 34, the end opening 122 which opens out of the cavity V102 opens into the internal volume V22 of the enclosure 22. In a variant not shown, the tube 120 is entirely received in the cavity V102, one of the two end openings 122 being oriented towards the first mouth 104.

[0039] Schematically, when the transformation installation 10 is in operation, that is to say in the use configuration while the transformation device 24 is supplied with electrical energy, the cooling fluid heated in contact with the transformation device 24 enters the cavity V102 via the tube 120, cools in contact with the body 102 of the sensor support 100, and circulates from the cavity V102 into the internal volume V22 of the enclosure 22 via the first opening 104, around the tube 120. This creates a thermal convection movement, similar to a thermosiphon.

[0040] In other words, the tube 120 promotes the circulation of the coolant between the internal volume V22 and the cavity V102. More generally, the tube 120 is configured to promote the convection movements of the coolant in the cavity V102 when the sensor support 100 is in the use configuration. In the event of an electrical fault, for example in the event of a fault generating dissolved hydrogen in the coolant, the tube 120 contributes to accelerating the homogenization of the concentration of dissolved hydrogen within the cavity V102 and the internal volume V22. When the detection device 110 is a hydrogen probe, the values measured by the detection device 110 are representative of the average concentration, in other words the measurements are reliable.

[0041] The main body 102 is made of a thermally conductive material, so as to promote the convection movements of the coolant entering the cavity V102 via the tube 120. Preferably, the body 102 is made of metal, preferably stainless, for example stainless steel.

[0042] Preferably, the central axis A120 is aligned with the longitudinal axis A102 of the cavity V102, so as to promote the convection movement of the cooling fluid. Preferably, a passage section of the tube 120 is equal, to within ±10%, to a passage section of the first mouth 104 around the tube 120, which promotes the convection movement of the cooling liquid.

[0043] Alternative embodiments of the invention are shown in figure 3 And 4. In each embodiment, elements similar to those of the embodiments bear the same references and function in the same way as for the preceding embodiment(s). In the following, the differences between each embodiment and the preceding embodiment(s) are mainly described.

[0044] A 250 transformation set is shown in the figure 3 a) . The transformer assembly 250 comprises the hermetic transformer 20 and the sensor holder 100, the sensor holder 100 being sealed to the upper wall 32, the first mouthpiece 104 being fluidically connected to the orifice 34. One of the main differences compared to the previous embodiment is that the safety device 60 of the previous embodiment is absent.

[0045] The second mouth 108 is closed by a closing member 210, here a cover. The sensor support 100 comprises the purge device 109, which is here mounted on the purge port 106B. In a variant not shown, the closing member 210 integrates the purge device.

[0046] The main port 106A receives the detection device 110. When the transformation assembly 250 is in operation, that is to say when the enclosure 22 and the cavity V102 are filled with the cooling fluid, the detection device 110 carries out measurements, for example measurements of the concentration of hydrogen dissolved in the cooling liquid, which are reliable.

[0047] When the hermetic transformer 20 is equipped with the sensor support 100, forming the transformation assembly 250, this transformation assembly 250 can easily be equipped with a safety device of the type of the safety device 60 described previously.

[0048] A transformation assembly 350, in accordance with another embodiment of the invention, is shown in FIG. figure 3 b) . The transformation subassembly 350 comprises the hermetic transformer 20 and a sensor support 300, which differs from the sensor support 100 of the previous embodiments in particular in that the second mouthpiece is absent. It is therefore not possible to connect the safety device 60 described previously.

[0049] The sensor support 300 includes several fluid ports, which here include the main port 106A and the purge port 106B. The purge port 106B is here arranged on an upper portion of the main body 102 and is oriented opposite the first mouth 104. Thus, when the first mouth 104 is connected to the port 34 and the transformer is in the use position, the purge port 106B is oriented upwards.

[0050] A sensor support 400 according to an alternative embodiment of the invention is shown in perspective in the figure 4 a) .

[0051] The sensor support 400 comprises the first mouth 104, which is bordered by a first flange 404 for connection to an orifice of the type of the orifice 34, and the second mouth 108, which is bordered by a second flange 408 for attachment to a fluid inlet of the type of the fluid inlet 62. In the illustrated example, holes 410 are provided in the first and second flanges 404 and 408, these holes being configured to cooperate with attachment members, for example screws, provided for the connection of the sensor support 400 to the hermetic transformer 20 and to the safety device 60. The transformer 20 and the safety device 60 are not shown.

[0052] The sensor support 400 also includes several fluid ports 106, here six in number, only three fluid ports 106 being shown in the figure 4 a) . The fluid ports 106 are here arranged radially to the longitudinal axis A102. The fluid ports 106 are advantageously distributed regularly around the longitudinal axis A102.

[0053] The fluid ports 106 are here located in the same plane orthogonal to the longitudinal axis A102. In a variant not shown, some of the fluid ports 106 are offset, along the longitudinal axis A102, relative to the other fluid ports 106. According to another variant not shown, the fluid ports 106 are distributed along the longitudinal axis A102.

[0054] Some of the fluid ports 106 are advantageously threaded, so as to facilitate the mounting of an accessory on the fluid ports 106. When a fluid port 106 does not receive any accessory, this fluid port is closed, for example by means of a plug screwed into this fluid port 106. The diameters of the fluid ports 106 are advantageously provided according to the various accessories likely to be connected to these fluid ports. For example, one of the fluid ports 106 is intended to receive a valve, for example to take samples of the coolant. The valve is not shown.

[0055] A sensor support 500 according to an alternative embodiment of the invention is shown in perspective in the figure 4 b) . Compared to the sensor support 400 of the previous embodiment, the second flange 408 is omitted, while the holes 410 are made directly in the body 102, in the thickness of the walls delimiting the cavity V102.

[0056] A sensor holder 600 according to an alternative embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. figure 5 . One of the main differences with the sensor supports of the previous embodiments is that the sensor support 600 does not include the tube 120. The sensor support 600 is shown mounted on the wall 32 of the enclosure 22, the first mouth 104 being fluidly connected to the orifice 34 provided in the wall 32. The sensor support 600 and the transformer 20 together form a transformation assembly 650.

[0057] In the illustrated example, the detection device 110 is mounted on the main port 106A, so as to measure a concentration of dissolved hydrogen in the cavity V102. The main port 106A is here arranged radially to the longitudinal axis A102. The second mouth 108 is closed by the closing member 210.

[0058] In a variant not shown, a safety device, of the type of the safety device 60, is mounted on the second mouth 108. According to another variant, a purge device, of the type of the purge device 109, is mounted on the second mouth 108.

[0059] The transformation assembly 650 comprises an accessory, here a measuring device 610, while the sensor support 600 comprises a secondary port 606, on which the measuring device 610 is mounted. According to non-limiting examples, the measuring device 610 is configured to measure the temperature, and / or the activity of the water in the liquid, and / or the activity of the partial discharges. The secondary port 606 comprises an internal mouth 606A and an external mouth 606B. Thus the cavity V102 opens to the outside of the main body 102 via the external mouth 606B. The measuring device 610 here comprises a measuring head 612, which has an elongated shape and which extends along a head axis A612. The secondary port 606 defines a mounting axis A606. When the measuring device 610 is mounted on the secondary port 606, the head axis A612 is aligned with the mounting axis A606.The secondary port 606 is arranged such that the mounting axis A606 passes through the first opening 104. Thus, when the sensor support 600 is mounted on the wall 32, the mounting axis A606 passes through the opening 34.

[0060] The mounting axis A606 is inclined relative to the longitudinal axis A102, i.e. the mounting axis A606 forms, with the longitudinal axis A102, a mounting angle α606 other than 90° or 0°. The mounting angle α606 is considered to be zero when the mounting axis A606 is aligned with the longitudinal axis A102. In the example illustrated, the mounting angle α606 is substantially equal to 50°. In practice, the mounting angle α606 is between 20° and 70°, preferably between 30° and 60°. The inclined mounting axis A606 reduces the risk of an air or gas bubble becoming lodged in the measuring chamber of the measuring head 612, which would distort the measurement.

[0061] Preferably, the mounting axis A606 is substantially oriented towards a center of the first opening 104. Thus, when the sensor support 600 is mounted on the wall 32 and the measuring device 610 is mounted on the secondary port 606, the measuring head 612 passes through the orifice 34 and protrudes from the cavity V102 within the internal volume V22, without interfering with the main body 102 or with the wall 32. The measuring device 610 can thus carry out measurements directly on the coolant contained in the enclosure 22, these measurements being particularly reliable.

[0062] More generally, it is understood that multiple variants of the sensor supports are possible for equipping an existing hermetic transformer with one or more accessories, in particular a dissolved hydrogen probe. The sensor support thus comprises at least one fluidic port for mounting the detection device 110, for example a fluidic port of the type of the main port 106A, or even as a variant an inclined port of the type of the fluidic port 606. Depending on the case, one or more other additional fluidic ports are provided, for mounting one or more additional accessories.

[0063] When the sensor support includes the second opening, this sensor support makes it possible to install, on a hermetic transformer provided with an orifice of the orifice 34 type, one or more accessories, while providing a location for mounting the safety device, without having to drill a new orifice in the transformer enclosure, which greatly reduces downtime.

[0064] Furthermore, the sensor supports according to the invention promote the circulation of the fluid in the cavity, which contributes to the reliability of the measurements carried out by the accessories and / or by the safety device, thus reducing the risks of untimely shutdown of the transformer in the event of a fault.

[0065] The embodiments and variations mentioned above may be combined with each other to generate new embodiments of the invention within the scope of the claims.
