1. A chair (10), for example a medical chair, comprising: - a base (20) intended to rest on a floor and comprising a frame (25), - a seat portion (50) configured to cooperate with said base so as to form a seat for the chair - a back portion (60) configured to be mounted in a removable manner on said base in order to form a backrest for the chair; and - a mounting device (76) comprising: at least a first mounting orifice (72) provided in a lower edge (67) of the back portion; and at least a first mounting rod (42) secured to the base (20), said base comprising said first mounting rod, the latter extending substantially vertically or slightly inclined relative to the vertical when the chair (10) rests on said floor, said first mounting rod being configured to engage in a removable manner in said first mounting orifice for mounting the back portion on the base, characterized in that the base comprises a mounting piece (40) pivotally mounted relative to the frame of the base about a horizontal axis (X) between at least a first position and a second position, said at least one first mounting rod (42) being secured to said mounting piece.

9. The chair according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein said seat portion (50) is configured to be mounted on said base (20) in a removeable manner.
