Rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) for passenger transport, having a car body (4), a passenger compartment (34) arranged in the car body (4), an underfloor area (26), an interior ceiling area (32) and a number of device containers (44, 44a, 44b, 44c) for accommodating vehicle components, wherein the passenger compartment (34) comprises a first end wall area (36) and a second end wall area (38) arranged opposite the first end wall area (36), wherein the device containers (44, 44a, 44b, 44c) can be arranged in the said areas (26, 32, 36, 38), wherein the first end wall area (36) extends along the vehicle longitudinal direction (12) from a first end wall defining the passenger compartment (34) to a first plane (40) running through the car body (4) perpendicular to the vehicle longitudinal direction (12), which plane is spaced from this first end wall by 50 cm, wherein the second end wall area (38) extends along the vehicle longitudinal direction (12) from a second end wall defining the passenger compartment (34) to a second plane (42) running through the car body (4) perpendicular to the vehicle longitudinal direction (12), which plane is spaced from this second end wall by 50 cm, wherein each device container (44, 44a, 44b, 44c) of the rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) is arranged in one of the said areas (26, 32, 36, 38) and wherein at least one of the device containers (44a) is arranged in the interior ceiling area (32).

2. Rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) according to claim 1, characterised in that at least one of the device containers (44b) is arranged in the underfloor area (26).

3. Rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one of the device containers (44c) is arranged in the first end wall area (36) of the passenger compartment (34) or in the second end wall area (38) of the passenger compartment (34).

4. Rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that at least one of the device containers (44c) is arranged in each of the two end wall areas (36, 38).

5. Rail vehicle according to one of the preceding claims, characterised by a driver cab area (46) and a partition wall (48), which separates the driver cab area (46) from the passenger compartment (34), wherein the car body (4) has a car body end wall (20) defining the passenger compartment (34), the first end wall area (36) of the passenger compartment (34) adjoins the car body end wall (20) and the second end wall area (38) of the passenger compartment (34) adjoins the partition wall (48).

Rail vehicle (2a) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the car body (4) has a first car body end wall (20) defining the passenger compartment (34) and a second car body end wall (22) defining the passenger compartment (34), which is arranged opposite the first car body end wall (20), wherein the first end wall area (36) of the passenger compartment (34) adjoins the first car body end wall (20) and the second end wall area (38) of the passenger compartment (34) adjoins the second car body end wall (22).

Rail vehicle (2c) according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised by a first driver cab area (46), a first partition wall (48), which separates the first driver cab area (46) from the passenger compartment (34), a second driver cab area (50) and a second partition wall (52), which separates the second driver cab area (50) from the passenger compartment (34), wherein the first end wall area (36) of the passenger compartment (34) adjoins the first partition wall (48) and the second end wall area (38) of the passenger compartment (34) adjoins the second partition wall (52).

Rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) according to one of claims 5 to 7, characterised in that at least one of the device containers (44c) is arranged in the first end wall area (36), at least one of the device containers (44c) is arranged in the second end wall area (38) or at least one of the device containers (44c) is arranged in both end wall areas (36, 38) in each case.

9. Rail vehicle (2a, 2b, 2c) according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one of the device containers (44, 44c, 44b, 44c) is arranged in at least one of the two end wall areas (36, 38) of the passenger compartment (34), in the underfloor area (26) and in the interior ceiling area (32) in each case.
