Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a fastening device for fastening a first element to a second element, in particular a fastening device for fastening a wall or a door, for example a glass element such as a glass wall or a glass door, a shower cubicle to a fitting.
[0002] Fastening devices are known for fastening a first element, for example a glass element such as a glass wall or glass door of a shower cubicle, to a second element, for example a fitting, wherein the first element comprises a through-opening and the second element an internal thread with a longitudinal axis, wherein a screw passes through the through-opening and engages in the internal thread. In order to be able to optimally align the first element relative to the second element despite manufacturing tolerances, it is known to make the first through-opening significantly larger than necessary for the screw and to arrange a pot-shaped metal insert in the first through-opening, in which the head of the screw can be moved in different directions and thus arranged with a large amount of play. This makes it possible to fix the first element in different positions relative to the second element within the scope of the play. The disadvantage is that the through-hole is comparatively large compared to the screw required for fastening, resulting in a fastening device that is visually unappealing. As a rule, fastening devices are considered more visually appealing the smaller they are.
[0003] DE 20 2006 000735 U1, EP 1 234 214 A2 and US 2017 / 058584 A1 are cited as state of the art.
[0004] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a fastening device for fastening a first element to a second element, in particular for fastening a glass element to a fitting, which allows play when fastening the two elements relative to each other, but impairs the appearance as little as possible.
[0005] The object is achieved according to the invention by a fastening device for fastening a first element to a second element having the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
[0006] The fastening device according to the invention for fastening a first element to a second element has the first element, the second element and a screw, wherein the first element comprises a through-opening and the second element an internal thread with a longitudinal axis, wherein the screw passes through the through-opening and engages in the internal thread, is characterized in that the second element comprises a recess and an insert arranged captively in the recess, wherein the internal thread is arranged in the insert, and wherein the insert is arranged displaceably in the recess at least in a direction which runs transversely, preferably perpendicularly, to the longitudinal axis of the internal thread.
[0007] The invention is therefore based on the idea of providing the necessary play between the screw and the element, which allows relative movement between the two elements before the screw is finally tightened, not between the screw and the first element, as in the prior art, but between the screw and the second element. The through-hole in the first element, in which the screw head lies, can thus be designed such that it is only slightly larger than the screw head, so that the visual appearance of the first element is hardly impaired. The displaceability is shifted to the second element, for example, the fitting.Due to the fact that no longer a play of the screw head in the through hole is used, but only a play of the screw body in the recess in the second element, it is possible to achieve the same play with a smaller and more compact design, which has a beneficial effect on the appearance of the fastening device.
[0008] Particularly preferably, the insert is arranged to be displaceable in different directions in the recess in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the internal thread, which allows a more flexible alignment between the first element and the second element.
[0009] According to an advantageous development of the invention, the recess has a first cylindrical section with a first inner diameter and a second cylindrical section with a second inner diameter, wherein the first inner diameter is smaller than the second inner diameter. This design allows a loss-prevention feature for the insert to be provided in a simple manner.
[0010] According to the invention, the recess has a first cylindrical section and a second cylindrical section, with a ring element arranged in the first cylindrical section. Such a design enables a simple way of securing the insert against loss, which can be installed after the insert has been inserted into the recess.
[0011] The first cylindrical portion has an internal thread and the ring element has an external thread, with the ring element being screwed into the first cylindrical portion. This can simplify the assembly of the threaded ring.
[0012] Advantageously, the ring element has at least one recess in an end face, preferably two diametrically opposed recesses, which can simplify the mounting of the ring element.
[0013] A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the recess has a bottom surface in which a groove is arranged, particularly in a diametrical direction. This recess provides an anti-twist feature for the insert, which can facilitate screwing the screw into the insert.
[0014] According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the recess is cup-shaped with a single access opening. The access opening is, in particular, the opening through which the screw shaft is screwed into the internal thread. Such a recess has the advantage that dirt is less likely to accumulate and deposit in it.
[0015] According to the invention, the insert comprises a cylindrical base plate with a base plate outer diameter and a cylindrical extension arranged on a first side of the base plate with an extension outer diameter that is smaller than the base plate outer diameter, wherein the internal thread is arranged in a recess that extends at least through the extension and preferably also through the base plate. In this way, the insert can be constructed compactly. Furthermore, the step resulting from the different outer diameters can be used to easily implement a loss-prevention feature if the step interacts with the undercut in the recess.
[0016] Preferably, at least one projection is arranged on the base plate, preferably on a second side of the base plate opposite the first side, which projection is arranged in a radial direction. This projection, in particular together with the groove arranged in the bottom surface of the recess, can provide an anti-twist feature for the insert.
[0017] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the through-opening of the first element is conical. This can result in better transmission of forces into the first element, in particular into a glass element such as a glass wall or a glass door.
[0018] Preferably, a plastic element, made of polyamide, for example, is arranged in the through-hole of the first element. This can provide protection between the screw, which is usually made of metal, and the first element, which is made of glass, for example.
[0019] Advantageously, the screw has a plastic coating, for example, made of polyamide, at least in sections. Such a coating can also protect the first element, which is made of glass, for example, against damage that could be caused by the screw, which is usually made of metal.
[0020] According to an advantageous development of the invention, the through-opening of the first element can be closed by a cover element, in particular flush with the surface. Such a cover element can prevent contamination of the through-opening and also improve the appearance.
[0021] Particularly preferably, the first element is made of glass and designed, for example, as a glass wall or glass door. The fastening device according to the invention offers significant advantages, especially for glass elements, since the through-opening can be made smaller than in conventional fastening devices, thus achieving essentially the same clearance.
[0022] Particularly preferably, the second element is designed as a fitting. The fastening device according to the invention offers significant advantages, particularly for fittings, for example, for living room doors or shower cubicle elements, since the fitting can be designed smaller than conventional fastening devices, thereby achieving essentially the same clearance.
[0023] An embodiment of the invention is explained in detail with reference to the following figures. Fig. 1 a longitudinal section through an embodiment of a fastening device according to the invention for fastening a first element, in particular a glass element, to a second element, in particular a fitting, Fig. 2 a section of Fig. 1 , in which only the recess arranged in the second element is shown, Fig. 3 a plan view of the in Fig. 2shown recess, Fig. 4 a top view of the threaded ring of the fastening device according to Fig. 1 , Fig. 5 an axial section through the threaded ring according to Fig. 4 , Fig. 6 a plan view of the use of the fastening device according to Fig. 1 and Fig. 7 an axial section through the insert according to Fig. 6 .
[0024] The Figures 1 to 7 show various views of an embodiment of a fastening device 10 according to the invention for fastening a first element 100 to a second element 200, wherein the first element 100 comprises a through-opening 20 and the second element 200 comprises an internal thread 54 with a longitudinal axis 1, wherein a screw 30 passes through the through-opening 20 and engages in the internal thread 54. The screw 30 comprises, in particular, a screw head 32 and a shaft 34, wherein the shaft 34 has an external thread 36.
[0025] The first element 100 is particularly designed as a glass element. For example, the first element 200 is a wall or a door, such as a glass wall or a glass door, for a shower cubicle.
[0026] The second element 200 is designed in particular as a fitting with which the first element 100 can be connected, for example as in Figure 1 shown can be pivoted around an axis A or rigidly attached to a wall.
[0027] The through-opening 20 can be conical and can taper in particular in the direction of the second element 200 in order to be able to form a suitable receptacle for the screw head 32 of the screw 32 (cf. Fig. 1To minimize damage to the first element 100 by the screw 30, either a plastic element 25, which is particularly adapted to the surface contour of the through-hole 20, can be inserted into the through-hole 20, or the surface of the screw 30 can be provided with a plastic coating, at least in sections. Polyamide is a suitable plastic material.
[0028] The second element 200 comprises a recess 40 and an insert 50 arranged captively in the recess 40, wherein the internal thread 54 is arranged in the insert 50.
[0029] The recess 40, which is particularly in the Figures 1 to 3can be seen, can be pot-shaped with a single access opening 46. The access opening 46 is arranged in particular in a surface 210 of the second element 200 facing the first element 100. The surface 220 of the second element 200 facing away from the first element 100 can thus be smooth and without grooves or edges (cf. Fig. 2 ).
[0030] The recess 40 has a first cylindrical section 41 and a second cylindrical section 42. It is important that an undercut is formed between the first cylindrical section 41 and the second cylindrical section 42, by means of which the insert 50 can be held captively. For this purpose, according to the invention, a ring element 60 is arranged in the first cylindrical section 42, which ring element 60 itself can be inserted into the Figures 4 and 5is shown. According to the invention, an internal thread 43 is arranged in the first cylindrical section 41, while the ring element 60 has a corresponding external thread 61, so that the ring element 60 can be screwed into the first cylindrical section 41. The ring element 60 can have at least one recess 64 on an end face 63, preferably two diametrically opposed recesses 64, into which a tool for screwing the ring element 60 into the first cylindrical section 41 can be inserted.
[0031] The ring element 60 has an inner diameter 60I, which represents a first inner diameter 41I in the first cylindrical portion 41. The second cylindrical portion 42 has a second inner diameter 42I, wherein the first inner diameter 41I is smaller than the second inner diameter 42I. This forms an undercut.
[0032] If the recess 40 is accessible exclusively from the surface of the second element 200 facing the first element 100, the insert 50 can first be inserted into the recess 40 and then the ring element 60 can be inserted into the first cylindrical section 41 of the recess 40 in order to arrange the insert 50 in the recess 40 in a captive manner.
[0033] The stake 50, which in itself is in the Figures 6 and 7 , has a cylindrical base plate 51 with a first side 51a, a second side 51b opposite the first side 51a, and a base plate outer diameter 51A, wherein a cylindrical extension 52 with an extension outer diameter 52A is preferably arranged in one piece on the first side 51a of the base plate 51. The extension outer diameter 52A is smaller than the base plate outer diameter 51A, resulting in a particularly step-like configuration.
[0034] The insert 50 is arranged in the recess 40 in such a way that the base plate 51 is arranged substantially in the second cylindrical portion 42 and the projection 52 is arranged substantially in the first cylindrical portion 41. The first inner diameter 41I is smaller than the base plate outer diameter 51A, thereby providing a loss-prevention feature.
[0035] The insert 50 has a recess 53, which in particular completely penetrates the projection 52 and preferably also the base plate 53. The internal thread 54 is arranged in the recess 53, into which the external thread 36 of the screw 30 can be screwed.
[0036] In order to be able to provide an anti-twist device when screwing the screw 30 into the internal thread 54, at least one projection 55, in the present embodiment two projections 55, is arranged on the base plate 51, preferably on the second side 51b, which projection 55 is arranged in particular radially, while a groove 45 is arranged in a bottom surface 44 of the recess, in particular running in a diametrical direction. The dimensions of the projections 55 and the groove 45 are such that the projections 55 can engage in the groove 45, but do not significantly block the displaceability of the insert 50 in the recess 40. If the screw 30 is to be screwed into the insert 50, the insert 50 rotates against the recess 40, if necessary by a few degrees, until the projection(s) 55 abut the inner wall of the groove 45.
[0037] The invention provides that the insert 50 is arranged so as to be displaceable in different directions in the recess 40 at least along an axis which runs transversely to the longitudinal axis l of the internal thread 54, preferably in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis l of the internal thread 54. In the present exemplary embodiment, this is achieved in that the first inner diameter 41I of the first cylindrical section 41 is larger than the shoulder outer diameter 52A, for example by a factor of 1.1 to 2, preferably by a factor of approximately 1.5, and the second inner diameter 42I of the second cylindrical section 42 is larger than the base plate outer diameter 51A, for example likewise by a factor of 1.1 to 2, preferably by a factor of approximately 1.5.This allows a displacement of the insert 50 in any direction within the recess 40, wherein the displacements take place within a plane which is arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis l of the internal thread 54 and which runs, for example, through the bottom surface 44 of the recess 40 or parallel to it.
[0038] If the screw 30 is screwed into the internal thread 54, the through-opening 20 on the surface 110 of the first element 100 facing away from the second element 200 can be closed with a cover element 70, in particular flush with the surface (cf. Fig. 1 ).
[0039] To prevent the first element 100 from being damaged by the second element 200, as shown in Figure 1 As can be seen, a protective layer 300, for example made of an elastomer, can be arranged between the first element 100 and the second element 200. List of reference symbols
