Description

[0001] The invention relates to a sealing device for sealing an edge joint between a drywall panel and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. Furthermore, the invention relates to a drywall panel comprising a retaining rail, a panel, and such a sealing device. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing a drywall panel with such a sealing device.

[0002] Edge joints, especially floor joints, are designed to ensure sound decoupling of the drywall from adjacent walls, ceilings or floors, especially floors.

[0003] The wall surfaces of drywall walls are formed by sheathing elements such as plasterboard, which often require protection from moisture. The edge joints therefore also form a barrier that protects the sheathing elements from rising moisture, for example, in the event of a pipe burst.

[0004] The edge joints are usually filled with a sealant to provide sound and fire protection and to seal the joint against air and odors.

[0005] Sealants have the disadvantage that their application is time-consuming and not very ergonomic. Furthermore, sealants can generally only be used reliably at temperatures of at least 5 °C, and the substrate must be dry and dust-free. Inspection is also challenging, as, for example, the installation depth cannot be verified non-destructively.

[0006] US 10 487 497 B1 discloses a generic sealing device.

[0007] The object of the invention is to provide a sealing device for an edge joint of a drywall that ensures simple installation of the sealing device and effective sealing of the edge joint. Furthermore, a drywall and a manufacturing method improved in these aspects are to be provided.

[0008] To achieve this objective, a sealing device is provided for sealing an edge joint between the paneling of a drywall and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. The sealing device comprises a one-piece sealing profile with a support web located opposite a peripheral side of the paneling, a fastening web running parallel to the support web for fastening the sealing profile to a retaining rail of the drywall, and an external support web that covers the edge joint at least partially, preferably completely, as seen in cross-section. The support web adjoins and supports the support web and connects the support web to the fastening web.

[0009] It was recognized that such a sealing device can be installed with minimal effort. The support bar ensures that the sealing device is precisely aligned with the paneling, while the sealing profile seals and closes an edge joint of a specified width. This effectively protects the paneling from moisture from an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling.

[0010] Viewed in cross-section, the fastening bar extends further outward than the support bar on the side farthest from the outer support bar, forming the outermost section of the sealing profile on this side. The fastening bar thus extends beyond the edge joint on the inner side, i.e., the side facing the retaining rail. This allows the fastening bar to be inserted into a gap between the retaining rail and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling to secure the sealing device.

[0011] The sealing profile features an internal support bar that extends perpendicular to the support bar and up to the fastening bar. This provides the sealing profile with two support bars, the internal support bar and the external support bar, that bear the load of the sheathing during installation of the drywall. This provides greater stability for the sealing device and ensures a consistent joint width.

[0012] The outer and inner support webs run parallel.

[0013] The outer and inner support webs originate from opposite ends of the support web, viewed in cross-section, which further increases the stability of the sealing profile.

[0014] The external support web runs perpendicular to the support web and thus forms a room-side closure that extends parallel to the wall surface of the paneling or drywall.

[0015] The sealing profile features a connecting web that connects the fastening web to the external support web. This gives the sealing profile particularly high strength along the joint depth.

[0016] In this case, the connecting web, viewed in cross section, can extend diagonally from a plane formed by the fastening web to the outer supporting web.

[0017] Sealing strips are arranged on the outside of the connecting web to close the gap between the plane and the connecting web. The sealing strip, together with the sealing profile, forms two functional sealing planes connected in series along the joint depth, thus providing a particularly effective seal.

[0018] According to one embodiment, a functional element made of an intumescent and / or sound-absorbing material is arranged inside the sealing profile and fastened to the sealing profile. The interior of the sealing profile refers to a cavity enclosed at least in sections by the sealing profile. Due to the functional element, the

[0019] The sealing device offers improved fire protection properties and / or provides more effective sound absorption. By locating the functional element inside the sealing profile, it is particularly protected, preventing damage to the functional element, especially during logistics or assembly.

[0020] The sealing profile can be covered on the outside, at least at the support web or completely, with an elastic sealing layer. This way, the paneling rests on the support web via the elastic sealing layer, sealing the gap between the paneling and the sealing profile particularly effectively. Furthermore, the elastic sealing layer can provide structure-borne sound insulation.

[0021] According to a further embodiment, the sealing profile is made of a metal or a plastic and can therefore be produced particularly stably and cost-effectively.

[0022] Furthermore, the sealing profile can be an extrusion profile, which allows the sealing device to be manufactured with little effort and in any length.

[0023] To achieve the above-mentioned object, a drywall wall with a retaining rail, a panel, and a sealing device according to the invention with the aforementioned advantages is also provided. The panel presses against the support web with its peripheral side, and the fastening web is held in a gap between the retaining rail and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. In this way, the edge joint formed between the panel and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling can be sealed reliably and with minimal effort by the sealing device. In particular, the sealing device can be attached without fasteners.

[0024] In one embodiment, the drywall is a double-layered drywall and has a second sealing device according to the invention. The sheathing is a two-layer sheathing with a first sheathing part and a second sheathing part, wherein the first sheathing part presses with its peripheral side against the support web of the first sealing profile and the second sheathing part presses with its peripheral side against the support web of the second sealing profile. The fastening web of the second sealing profile is arranged in a gap between the first sealing profile and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. The sealing profiles are arranged in series in the direction of the joint depth and thus provide a particularly effective seal for the edge joint formed by the two-layer sheathing and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling.

[0025] In a further embodiment, the drywall has at least one sealing device according to the invention, which comprises a connecting web with an external sealing strip. The sealing strip is arranged on the outside of the connecting web between the wall, floor, or ceiling and the opposite, diagonally running fastening web in such a way that the gap between the wall, floor, or ceiling and the opposite, diagonally running fastening web is closed and thus sealed.

[0026] According to the invention, in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a method for producing a drywall with a retaining rail, a paneling and a sealing device according to the invention is further provided, comprising the following steps: Attaching the support rail to the wall, floor and / or ceiling, driving the fastening web into a gap between the support rail and the adjacent floor, wall or ceiling so that the fastening web is clamped between the support rail and the adjacent floor, wall or ceiling, and attaching the sheathing to a stud construction of the drywall, with the sheathing resting with its peripheral side against the support web.

[0027] Further advantages and features are evident from the following description and the attached drawings. These show: Figure 1 in a schematic sectional view of a drywall with a sealing device, Figure 2 in a perspective view a sealing device according to the invention according to a further embodiment, Figure 3in a schematic sectional view of a drywall with a double-planked wall surface and a sealing device according to a further embodiment, and Figure 4 in a schematic sectional view of a sealing device according to a further embodiment.

[0028] In Figure 1 a drywall 10 with a planking 12 (gypsum wall) and a retaining rail 14, which is part of a stud construction of the drywall 10, is shown in cross section.

[0029] In the present case, the support rail 14 is a U-shaped floor profile (of which Figure 1 only one half is shown), which is firmly anchored to the floor 8 extending in the horizontal direction H, for example by means of dowels.

[0030] The planking 12 is attached to the stud construction at a distance from the floor 8, whereby an edge joint 16 in the form of a floor joint is formed in the vertical direction V between a peripheral side 18 of the planking 12 and the floor 8.

[0031] To seal the edge joint 16, the drywall 10 further includes a sealing device 20, the structure of which is described below. The sealing device 20 is also suitable for sealing the edge joint 16 between the drywall 10 and the ceiling and / or wall.

[0032] The sealing device 20 comprises a one-piece sealing profile 22 with a fastening web 24, a connecting web 26, an outer support web 28 and a bearing web 30, which together form a C-shaped base body that encloses a cavity 32 in the interior 34.

[0033] At the outer end 36 or edge of the support web 30, ie the end 36 facing away from the holding rail 14, the outer support web 28 extends perpendicularly away from the support web 30 and is connected via the connecting web 26 to the fastening web 24, which extends parallel to the support web 30 beyond the inner end 38 of the support web 30 in the horizontal direction H.

[0034] The sealing profile 22, for example, is an extruded profile made of an impact-resistant plastic such as polyamide, PVC or ABS.

[0035] Alternatively, the sealing profile 22 may be made of metal, in particular of a formed sheet metal.

[0036] When installing the drywall 10, the support rail 14 is first anchored to the floor 8 and the stud construction of the drywall 10 is erected.

[0037] Subsequently, the sealing device 20 with the fastening web 24 is placed adjacent to the base 8 on the holding rail 14 so that the fastening web 24 rests against the gap 40 formed between the holding rail 14 and the base 8.

[0038] Subsequently, the sealing device 20 is driven, for example with a hammer, in the horizontal direction H into the gap 40 until the fastening web 24 is clamped between the holding rail 14 and the floor 8 and is thus securely fastened.

[0039] In a subsequent step, the planking 12 is attached to the stud construction.

[0040] Here, the planking 12 is placed with its peripheral side 18 on the support web 30 so that the sealing device 20 is pressed against the floor 8, and then fastened to the stud construction of the drywall 10.

[0041] By placing the planking 12 on the support web 30 during assembly, it is ensured that the edge joint 16 has a defined width, while the weight of the planking 12 ensures that the sealing device 20 lies tightly against the floor 8.

[0042] The sealing device 20 is sized to ensure that it is clamped in the edge joint 16 between the peripheral side 18 of the planking 12 and the floor 8, thus reliably sealing the edge joint 16. The external support web 28 supports the support web 30 in the vertical direction V.

[0043] In all embodiments, the support web 30 is arranged opposite the peripheral side 18 of the planking 12 and forms a support for it.

[0044] In principle, the sealing device 20 can be used to seal any edge joint 16 formed between a peripheral side 18 of the paneling 12 and an adjacent floor 8, an adjacent wall or ceiling.

[0045] Based on the Figure 2 A sealing device according to a further embodiment will now be described. The same reference numerals are used for the components known from the above embodiment, and reference is made to the previous explanations. The extension direction P here denotes the direction in which the profile extends in its longitudinal direction.

[0046] In contrast to the sealing device 20, which is Figure 1As shown, the sealing profile 22 has, in addition to the outer support web 28, an inner support web 42 which extends from the inner end 38 of the support web 30 parallel to the outer support web 28 to the fastening web 24.

[0047] Furthermore, the outer support web 28 is shorter than in the Figure 1 shown embodiment and thus does not extend across the entire joint width. Viewed in cross section, the connecting web 26 is inclined toward the support web 30 at an angle α relative to a plane E that runs parallel to the fastening web 24. This creates a gap 44, for example, wedge-shaped, between the connecting web 26 and the plane E.

[0048] The sealing device 20 has a sealing strip 46 which is arranged in the gap 44 on the outside of the connecting web 26.

[0049] The sealing strip 46 extends in the vertical direction V beyond the plane E.

[0050] When the sealing device 20 is installed, the sealing strip 46 is compressed between the connecting web 26 and the adjacent floor 8, wall or ceiling, thus ensuring effective sealing of the gap 44 and thus of the edge joint 16.

[0051] To ensure that the peripheral side 18 of the planking 12 rests tightly against the sealing device 20, the sealing device 20 further comprises an elastic sealing layer 48, which is attached to the outer side of the support web 30 on the sealing profile 22. In the present case, this is a sealing strip.

[0052] Based on the Figure 3 A drywall with a sealing device according to a further embodiment will now be described. The same reference numerals are used for the components known from the above embodiments, and reference is made to the previous explanations.

[0053] The drywall 10 has a two-layer planking 12 with an inner planking part 50 adjacent to the stud construction and an outer planking part 52 adjacent to the inner planking part 50, which forms the outer side of the drywall 10.

[0054] The edge joint 16 is sealed by two identical sealing devices 20, 21 arranged in series in the horizontal direction H. The outer sealing device 21 is attached to the inner sealing device 20 by clamping the fastening web 24 of the outer sealing device 21 in a gap formed by the connecting section 26 of the inner sealing device 20 and the adjacent floor 8.

[0055] The inner sealing device 20 rests under prestress with the support web 30 on the peripheral side 18 of the inner planking part 50, while the outer sealing device 21 rests under prestress with the support web 30 on the peripheral side 18 of the outer planking part 52.

[0056] In contrast to the sealing device 20, which is Figure 1 As shown, each of the sealing devices 20, 21 has a functional element 54 which is fastened in the interior 34 of the sealing profile 22 to the outer support web 28.

[0057] The material from which the functional element 54 is made has intumescent, thermally insulating, water-repellent, sealing and / or sound-damping properties and is, for example, a foam or mineral wool.

[0058] In principle, the functional element 54 can be attached to any section of the sealing profile 22. Additionally or alternatively, the functional element 54 can fill the entire cavity 32.

[0059] Based on the Figure 4 A sealing device according to a further embodiment will now be described. The same reference numerals are used for the components known from the above embodiments, and reference is made to the previous explanations.

[0060] The sealing device 20 has an elastic sealing layer 48 which extends over the entire outer side of the inner support web 42, the support web 30, the outer support web 28 and the connecting web 26 and thus covers the sealing profile 22 on all sides, viewed in cross section, at least in sections.

[0061] This embodiment can be manufactured particularly cost-effectively by forming the sealing profile 22 from a sheet metal which is first coated with the elastic sealing layer 48 and then formed.

[0062] Of course, in an alternative embodiment, the elastic sealing layer 48 can extend over the entire outer side of the sealing profile 22.

[0063] In this way, a sealing device 20 for an edge joint 16 of a drywall 10 is provided, which ensures simple installation in all embodiments.

[0064] In particular, the design of the sealing device 20 ensures that it can be fastened quickly and reliably without fasteners such as bolts or nails.

[0065] Furthermore, the sealing device 20 ensures effective sealing of the edge joint 16 against air and sound.

[0066] The sealing device 20 transforms the drywall 10 into a fireproof construction, by means of which the spread of smoke, temperature and fire to the side of the drywall 10 facing away from the fire can be prevented.

[0067] The dimensions of the sealing profile 22 ensure a defined joint width and also protect the planking 12 against moisture in or on the floor 8, particularly during the construction phase.

[0068] Furthermore, the sealing device 20 is a factory-made application solution with consistent properties that facilitates the sealing of edge joints with consistently high quality.

[0069] The invention is not limited to the embodiments shown. In particular, individual features of one embodiment can be combined arbitrarily with features of other embodiments within the scope of the appended claims, independently of the other features of the corresponding embodiments.

[0070] For example, each of the sealing devices 20 may comprise a sealing strip 46, an elastic sealing layer 48 and / or a functional element 54.
