Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a sealing profile for sealing an edge joint between a paneling section of a drywall partition and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. The invention further relates to a drywall partition comprising such a sealing profile, a stud frame, and a paneling section. The invention also relates to a method for attaching such a sealing profile to a support structure using fasteners.
[0002] Edge joints, especially floor joints, are executed to ensure sound decoupling of the drywall from adjacent walls, ceilings or floors, especially floors.
[0003] The wall surfaces of drywall partitions are formed by sheathing components such as gypsum boards, which often need protection from moisture. The perimeter joints therefore also form a barrier that protects the sheathing components from rising damp, for example, in the event of a burst pipe.
[0004] The perimeter joints are usually injected with a sealant to provide sound and fire protection, as well as to seal the joint against air and odors.
[0005] Sealants have the disadvantage of being time-consuming and not very ergonomic to apply. Furthermore, sealants can generally only be used reliably at temperatures of at least 5 °C, and the substrate must be dry. Inspection is also not easy, as, for example, the installation depth cannot be checked non-destructively.
[0006] EP 0 418 699 A1 discloses a generic sealing profile for sealing an edge joint between a paneling part of a drywall partition and an adjacent floor, wall or ceiling.
[0007] The object of the invention is to provide a sealing device for an edge joint of a drywall partition that ensures easy installation of the sealing device and effective sealing of the edge joint.
[0008] To solve the problem, a sealing profile with the features of claim 1 is provided as a sealing device for sealing an edge joint between a paneling section of a drywall partition and an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. The sealing profile has a base body with a mounting side, which forms a support for the paneling section, and a fastening section with a fastening side. The fastening section and the fastening side are arranged opposite the mounting side of the base body. Furthermore, the base body has fastening openings spaced apart from one another in the direction of the profile's extension, which extend from the mounting side at least partially to the fastening section.
[0009] It was recognized that the sealing profile can be quickly and easily attached via the mounting holes using fasteners such as nails or bolts. With a sealing profile lacking such mounting holes, the mounting side is deformed, for example by the nail head, creating a crater-like shape towards the fastening side, thus impairing the sealing properties of the profile.
[0010] Furthermore, the sealing profile ensures that the edge joint has a defined width and is reliably sealed. Thus, the cladding section is effectively protected from moisture from an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling by the sealing profile.
[0011] The fastening openings can extend completely through the base body. Since the fastening openings are designed as through holes in the base body, the sealing profile can be attached via the fastening openings using fasteners such as nails or bolts without significantly deforming the base body, as, for example, the nail head does not rest against or clamp the base body in the fastening direction.
[0012] According to the invention, the sealing profile has a reinforcement, at least in the sections of the fastening openings, which is arranged between the mounting side and the fastening side. The reinforcement borders the fastening section or is at least partially located within it. The reinforcement forms a robust and tear-resistant layer that ensures the sealing profile can be reliably fastened using fasteners such as nails or bolts.
[0013] The reinforcement consists of a reinforcing grid, reinforcing fabric, or reinforcing discs. In this way, the reinforcement can be defined and effectively positioned within the sealing profile.
[0014] It is possible for the base body and the mounting section to be formed as a single piece. This allows the sealing profile to have consistent sealing properties from the mounting side to the mounting side and also enables it to be manufactured with minimal effort.
[0015] In an alternative embodiment, the base body is made of a first material and the fastening section of a second material that has a higher tensile strength than the first material. This has the advantage that the sealing profile can be reliably fastened using fasteners such as nails or bolts driven through the fastening section. Furthermore, a material with particularly good sealing properties can be used for the base body, even if it has only low tensile strength.
[0016] The second material is, for example, a tough-elastic material. For the purposes of the invention, a tough-elastic material is understood to be, in particular, a material that exhibits an elasticity corresponding to that of natural rubber.
[0017] According to one embodiment, the fastening section is made of an intumescent material. Additionally or alternatively, the sealing profile can have a strip of intumescent material, which is arranged, in particular, between the base body and the fastening section. This gives the sealing profile improved fire protection properties.
[0018] The base body is made of a foam or an elastomer, which gives it particularly good sealing properties.
[0019] According to another embodiment, the sealing profile is a hollow profile with a cavity, particularly in the base body. The hollow profile design has the advantage that the sealing profile can be manufactured very efficiently using material. Furthermore, the sealing profile is more easily compressible in sections with a hollow profile, which allows for a more effective sealing of rough cut edges of an adjacent cladding section in these sections.
[0020] Furthermore, the base body, in particular the sealing profile, can be an extrusion profile, which means that the sealing profile can be produced in any length with minimal effort.
[0021] The base body may be designed to have at least two support sections, each of which can form a bearing surface for the sheathing element. In particular, one of the support sections is located on the installation side. The multiple bearing surfaces allow the sealing profile to be used in different positions to seal the perimeter joint. This has the advantage that the sealing profile can be attached to the adjacent support, which is particularly suitable for this purpose due to its composition and / or shape, using fasteners such as nails or bolts. In this context, a support is, for example, a stud frame of the drywall, a floor, a wall, or a ceiling.
[0022] According to the invention, a drywall partition with a sealing profile according to the invention, offering the aforementioned advantages, a stud frame, and a sheathing panel is also provided to solve the aforementioned problem. The sheathing panel rests against one side of the base body with its circumferential edge, while the sealing profile rests against an adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling. The sealing profile is attached to the stud frame or the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling by means of fasteners. In this way, the perimeter joint formed between the sheathing panel and the adjacent floor, wall, or ceiling can be reliably sealed by the sealing profile with minimal effort.
[0023] In one embodiment, the fastening elements are nails and / or bolts, by means of which the sealing profile can be fastened in a short time and with particularly little effort, in particular with a nail gun or a bolt setting tool.
[0024] According to the invention, a method with the features of claim 11 for fastening a sealing profile according to the invention with the aforementioned advantages is also provided to solve the above-mentioned problem, in which the sealing profile is fastened to a support, in particular to a frame construction, a floor, a wall or a ceiling, by means of fastening elements in the following steps: a) Positioning the sealing profile on the support so that the fastening side faces the support, and b) fastening the sealing profile to the support by driving or inserting the fastening elements from the mounting side through the fastening openings and into the support through the fastening section.
[0025] In this way, the sealing profile can be attached quickly and with minimal effort to reliably seal an edge joint.
[0026] According to one embodiment, the fastening elements are nails and / or bolts, by means of which the sealing profile can be fastened in a short time and with particularly little effort, in particular with a nail gun or a bolt setting tool.
[0027] Further advantages and features will become apparent from the following description and the accompanying drawings. These show: Figure 1in a perspective view a drywall partition according to the invention with a sealing profile according to the invention, Figure 2 in a perspective view the sealing profile made of Figure 1 , Figure 3 in a perspective view a drywall according to the invention in a further embodiment with the sealing profile made of Figure 1 , Figure 4 in a schematic sectional view a sealing profile according to the invention in a further embodiment, Figure 5 in a perspective view a sealing profile according to the invention in a further embodiment, and Figure 6 in a schematic sectional view the sealing profile made of Figure 5 .
[0028] In Figure 1 is a drywall 10 with a sheathing part 12 (plasterboard) and a retaining rail 14, which is part of a stud construction of the drywall 10, shown in cross-section.
[0029] In the present case, the retaining rail 14 is a floor profile that is firmly anchored to the floor 8 extending in the horizontal direction H, for example by means of dowels.
[0030] The sheathing part 12 is spaced from the floor 8 and attached to the frame structure, thereby forming an edge joint 16 in the form of a floor joint in the vertical direction V between a circumferential side 18 of the sheathing part 12 and the floor 8.
[0031] To seal the perimeter joint 16, the drywall 10 also has a hollow sealing profile 20, the structure of which is described below based on the Figure 2 The sealing profile 20 is also suitable for sealing the perimeter joint 16 between the drywall 10 and the ceiling and / or wall.
[0032] The sealing profile 20 has a base body 22 with a mounting side 24 and a fastening section 26 with a fastening side 28. The mounting side 24 and fastening side 28 form opposite sides of the sealing profile 20, which are aligned parallel to each other.
[0033] The sealing profile 20 has a cross-section with a square base shape.
[0034] The base body 22 has three flat support sections 31, 32, 33. One support section 32 adjoins the mounting side 24, while the other two support sections 31, 33 each adjoin a side of the sealing profile 20 that connects the mounting side 24 with the fastening side 28.
[0035] The sealing profile 20 is a hollow profile with a cavity 34 which adjoins the fastening section 26 and extends through the base body 22 in the extension direction P of the profile.
[0036] In the present embodiment, the sealing profile 20 is an extruded profile.
[0037] The base body 22 is formed in one piece together with the fastening section 26 and is therefore made of the same material as the latter.
[0038] The sealing profile 20 consists of a plastic, for example EPDM, PE foam, PP foam, PS foam, particle foam, silicone foam, a thermoplastic elastomer.
[0039] In principle, the sealing profile 20 can be made of any material and in any way. Preferably, however, at least the base body 22 is an extruded profile.
[0040] For fastening the sealing profile 20, the sealing profile 20 has fastening openings 36 which are arranged at regular intervals in the extension direction P of the profile and extend vertically from the mounting side 24 through the base body 22 to the cavity 34.
[0041] To reliably seal the perimeter joint 16 with the sealing profile 20, the sealing profile 20 is installed adjacent to the retaining rail 14 during the assembly of the drywall 10 (see Figure 1 ) on the ground 8 by means of fastening elements 38 in the form of nails or bolts.
[0042] In a first step, the sealing profile 20 is placed on the base 8 with the fastening side 28.
[0043] In a second step, the fastening elements 38 are driven through the fastening openings 36 and into the ground 8 via the fastening section 26.
[0044] In this way, the sealing profile 20 is attached to the floor 8 by means of the fastening elements 38 via the fastening section 26.
[0045] Now the paneling part 12 is placed with its circumferential side 18 onto the support section 32, so that the sealing profile 20 is pressed against the floor 8, and then attached to the stud construction of the drywall 10.
[0046] The support section 32 forms a support 40, against which the planking part 12 rests with its circumferential side 18.
[0047] By placing the sheathing part 12 on the support section 32 during assembly, it is ensured that the edge joint 16 has a defined width, while the weight of the sheathing part 12 ensures that the sealing profile 20 lies tightly against the floor 8.
[0048] In principle, the sealing profile 20 can be used to seal any edge joint 16 formed between a circumferential side 18 of the paneling part 12 and an adjacent floor, wall or ceiling.
[0049] Of course, in addition to or as an alternative to nails and / or bolts, any fasteners 38 can be used for fastening, for example clamps.
[0050] Based on the Figure 3A drywall partition according to a further embodiment will now be described. The same reference numerals are used for the components known from the embodiment above, and reference is made to the preceding explanations in this respect.
[0051] Unlike the drywall partition 10, which is located in the Figure 1 As shown, the sealing profile 20 is attached to the retaining rail 14, which consists of a wooden strip and thus forms a suitable support for attaching the sealing profile 20.
[0052] Here, the sealing profile 20 rests against the retaining rail 14 with its fastening side 28, while the cladding part 12 rests against the support section 31 with its circumferential side 18.
[0053] In this embodiment, the mounting side 24 is exposed, allowing access to the fastening openings 36 even after the cladding section 12 has been placed on the sealing profile 20. This allows the sealing profile 20 to be attached to the retaining rail 14 before and / or after the cladding section 12 has been placed on the support 40.
[0054] Based on the Figure 4 A sealing profile according to a further embodiment is now described. The same reference numerals are used for the components known from the above embodiments, and reference is made to the preceding explanations in this respect.
[0055] The Figure 4 shows a cross-section of the sealing profile 20 at a point with a mounting opening 36.
[0056] The fastening opening 36 extends from the mounting side 24 to the fastening section 26 completely through the base body 22.
[0057] The sealing profile 20 has a reinforcement 42 in the form of reinforcing discs 44, which are arranged in the fastening openings 36 adjacent to the fastening section 26.
[0058] The reinforcing discs 44, for example, are made of plastic or metal.
[0059] Additionally or alternatively, the reinforcing discs 44 can be clamped in the fastening openings 36 or bonded to the base body 22 and / or the fastening section 26.
[0060] The reinforcement 42 serves to make the section more robust where the sealing profile 20 is connected to the fastening element 38.
[0061] The reinforcing discs 44 each have a passage 46, which ensures that the fastening elements 38 can penetrate the reinforcement 40 at this point. Alternatively, there is no passage 46 in the reinforcing discs 46, so that the bolt or nail is driven through the reinforcing disc 44 and then through the sealing profile 20.
[0062] The sealing profile 20 is designed here as a solid profile, i.e. without cavity 34, but this can also be different.
[0063] Based on the Figures 5 and 6 A sealing profile 20 according to a further embodiment is now described. The same reference numerals are used for the components known from the above embodiments, and reference is made to the preceding explanations in this respect.
[0064] In this embodiment, the sealing profile 20 is designed in three layers. The base body 22 and the fastening section 26 each form a layer, which are connected via an intermediate layer in the form of the reinforcement 42.
[0065] The reinforcement 42 is here a reinforcing grid 48, which extends adjacent to the fastening section 26 and parallel to the fastening side 28 in the extension direction P of the profile.
[0066] In an alternative embodiment, the reinforcement 42 can be arranged at any point in or adjacent to the base body 22 and / or fastening section 26 and can extend through or relative to the base body 22 and / or the fastening section 26 in any way.
[0067] Preferably, however, the reinforcement 42 extends over the area in which the fastening openings 36 are arranged, as well as in or adjacent to the fastening section 26.
[0068] Reinforcement 42, for example, is a polyester or fiberglass mesh.
[0069] In principle, the reinforcement 42 can have any structure. In particular, in an alternative embodiment, the reinforcement 42 can be a reinforcing fabric.
[0070] The fastening openings 36 are through holes that extend completely through the base body 22.
[0071] In all embodiments, the fastening openings 36 can have any depth, i.e., the fastening openings 36 can extend from the mounting side 24 over any distance in the base body 22 against the vertical direction V.
[0072] Furthermore, the fastening openings 36 can, in principle, be arranged at any location in the base body 22.
[0073] In an alternative embodiment, the mounting openings 36 adjoin a side surface of the base body 22, which is thus interrupted by the mounting openings 36. Such an embodiment corresponds, for example, to the one in Figure 6 the embodiment shown, however the Figure 6 In this case, the illustration does not show a sectional view of the sealing profile 20, but rather the sealing profile 20 itself, or a section thereof, in a perspective view. The advantage of this embodiment is that the mounting openings 36 can have a large diameter or cross-section, which allows the sealing profile 20 to be easily attached via the mounting openings 36. At the same time, the base body 22 is sufficiently robust due to the lateral arrangement of the mounting openings 36 to reliably seal an edge joint 16.
[0074] The basic body 22 is in the Figures 5 and 6The embodiment shown is formed from a material with high elasticity, for example foam, whereby the base body forms a sealing element with a particularly high sealing effect.
[0075] The fastening section 26, on the other hand, is made of a tough-elastic material, for example rubber, which has a higher tensile strength compared to the base body 22.
[0076] In order to provide a sealing profile 20 with particularly good fire protection properties, the fastening section 26 can be made of an intumescent material.
[0077] Additionally or alternatively, the sealing profile 20 can have a strip of intumescent material, which, for example, forms a further layer between the base body 22 and the fastening section 26.
[0078] In embodiments where the base body 22 and / or the fastening section 26 are made of a temperature-resistant material, a fire-resistant version of the sealing profile 20 can be implemented without intumescent material.
[0079] Unlike the sealing profile 20, which is in the Figure 1 As shown, the sealing profile 20 has in the Figures 5 and 6 a rectangular cross-section. Furthermore, only the mounting side 24 is provided as a support section 32, which forms a bearing 40.
[0080] Of course, in an alternative embodiment, any sides of the base body 22 can be provided as support sections 31, 32, 33.
[0081] To produce the sealing profile 20, the base body 22, the fastening section 26 and the reinforcement 42 can be bonded or welded together, for example by means of ultrasonic welding.
[0082] In an alternative embodiment, the sealing profile 20 can be manufactured using 2-component extrusion.
[0083] To seal particularly deep perimeter joints 16, several sealing profiles 20 can be arranged adjacent to each other in series in the horizontal direction H in all embodiments. For example, in a drywall partition 10 with a double-layered wall consisting of two adjacent sheathing sections 12, two sealing profiles 20 can be arranged in the perimeter joint 16, each sealing profile 20 forming a support 40 for a sheathing section 12.
[0084] In this way, a sealing profile 20 is provided for an edge joint 16 of a drywall 10, which in all embodiments ensures easy assembly of the sealing profile 20 together with the erection of the stud construction.
[0085] In particular, the design of the sealing profile 20 ensures that it can be fastened quickly and reliably using fastening elements such as nails or bolts.
[0086] Furthermore, the sealing profile 20 ensures an effective seal of the edge joint 16 against air and sound.
[0087] The sealing profile 20 makes the drywall 10 a fire-resistant construction, by means of which the transmission of smoke, temperature and fire to the side of the drywall 10 facing away from the fire can be prevented.
[0088] The dimensions of the sealing profile 20 ensure a defined joint width and also protect the cladding part 12 against moisture in or on the ground 8, especially during the construction phase.
[0089] Furthermore, the sealing profile 20 is a factory-made application solution with consistent properties, which facilitates the sealing of edge joints with consistently high quality.
