Description

[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of containers comprising a container and a lid.

[0002] The present invention relates more particularly to a leak-proof lid intended for use with a container.

[0003] The present invention relates in particular, but not exclusively, to reusable containers intended to receive food preparations, such as yogurts.

[0004] Documents WO2011 / 144869 and WO2011 / 144870 disclose a container whose side wall has an external ridge at its upper edge. This external ridge forms an additional thickness with a lower annular rim designed to suspend the container in an opening of suitable cross-section. This external ridge has a slight slope, the outer perimeter of the container decreasing towards the base of the external ridge. This external ridge serves as a support wall for a lower peripheral collar of a lid configured to seal the upper opening of the container. Such a container can be made of glass. A drawback of the aforementioned embodiment lies in the dimensional tolerances of the container, which hinder the achievement of a satisfactory seal when the container is sealed with the aforementioned lid.

[0005] Document CN 204184715 U discloses a container comprising a lid hinged to a container with a hinged device having an upper element that clamps the lid and a lower element that clamps the container. The upper and lower elements are mounted in grooves and are hinged to each other. A removable retaining device connecting the upper and lower elements is arranged opposite the hinge. One drawback of the aforementioned embodiment lies in the manipulations required to close the lid on the container. The lid retaining device has several moving parts that must be manipulated precisely to ensure a tight seal of the lid. Another drawback of the aforementioned embodiment lies in the manipulations required to separate the lid from the container. It is indeed necessary to dismantle the articulation device in order to separate the lid from the container.

[0006] A leak-proof cover according to the characteristics of the preamble of claim 1 is known from document US2018255950.

[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a leak-proof lid intended for use with a container having a lower annular rim, which is easier to remove and put in place.

[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a container comprising a watertight lid and a container having a lower annular rim, in which the watertight lid is easier to remove and put in place.

[0009] These objects are achieved with a leak-proof lid configured for use with a container having an upper rim and a side wall having a lower annular rim, the leak-proof lid having a sealing piece carrying an annular support element configured to bear annularly on the upper rim, and a latching member, the leak-proof lid having a ring configured to be mounted around the container to bear below the lower annular rim, the latching member being configured to engage with the ring such that the annular support element provides a seal with the upper rim when the ring bears below the lower annular rim and the latching member is engaged with the ring, because the latching member is connected to the sealing piece by a first elastic hinge, that the first elastic hinge,The fastening element and at least part of the sealing piece belong to a body made of plastic, and the fastening element has a hook configured to engage with a lower rib of the body when the fastening element is engaged with the ring. Thus, the fastening element of the airtight lid according to the invention engages with a part of the airtight lid, and not with the container. Such an embodiment makes it easier to overcome the dimensional tolerances of the container, particularly when the container is made of glass. Such an embodiment also makes it easier to ensure the airtight lid is securely attached. If desired, several first elastic hinges can be provided between the fastening element and the sealing piece. The body can, in particular, be made of injection-molded plastic. If desired, the body can be made of a transparent or translucent material. Alternatively,The sealing piece may include an insert. The body can then be overmolded onto the sealing piece. The latching member, having a second hook configured to engage with a lower rib of the body when the latching member is engaged with the ring, improves the sealing of the container formed by the airtight lid closing the receptacle. The annular support element may be formed by an annular seal configured to bear against the upper edge when the ring bears against the lower annular rim and the latching member is engaged with the ring. Alternatively, the annular support element may be formed from the body, for example, by an annular lip engaged inside or outside the upper edge of the container.

[0010] The body may have a lower peripheral annular rib, with the annular seal being mounted under the body inside the lower peripheral annular rib.

[0011] The body may have an inner lower annular rib, with the annular seal mounted under the body between the peripheral lower annular rib and the inner lower annular rib.

[0012] Alternatively, the annular seal can be overmolded onto the body. The fastening element may have a hook configured to engage with a lower edge of the ring when the fastening element is engaged with the ring.

[0013] The hook can then be engaged in a lower recess of the ring adjacent to the lower edge when the fastening element is in contact with the ring. This arrangement strengthens the ring.

[0014] According to one embodiment, the watertight cover may include a second elastic hinge connecting the sealing piece to the ring.

[0015] The second elastic hinge and the ring may belong to the body.

[0016] The first elastic hinge can be arranged opposite the second elastic hinge with respect to the sealing piece.

[0017] The ring can have four sides, the second elastic hinge being connected to a first side.

[0018] The latching device can then be configured to engage with a second side opposite the first side.

[0019] The second elastic hinge may consist of a first elastic section connected to a second elastic section by an intermediate section that is more rigid than both the first and second sections. This arrangement allows the first elastic section to be positioned at the upper edge of the container and the second elastic section at the lower annular rim of the container. Thus, the height of the intermediate section of the second elastic hinge is close to the height of the lower annular rim of the container.

[0020] According to another embodiment, the sealing cover may include another fastening member connected to the sealing piece by another first elastic hinge, the sealing piece being arranged between the fastening member and the other fastening member, the other fastening member being configured to engage with the ring, so that the annular support element ensures a seal with the upper edge when the ring rests under the lower annular rim and the other fastening member is engaged with the ring.

[0021] The other first elastic hinge and the other fastening device may belong to the body.

[0022] If desired, the watertight cover can include a second elastic hinge connecting the sealing piece to the ring.

[0023] Alternatively, the ring can be independent of the sealing piece. Thus, the ring can be independent of the body.

[0024] The annular seal can be configured to bear on the upper edge when the ring bears under the lower annular rim and the hooking member and the other hooking member are engaged with the ring.

[0025] The other attachment member may have a similar construction to the first attachment member. This second attachment member may have another hook configured to engage with the lower edge of the ring when the first attachment member is engaged with the ring. This second hook may be engaged in another lower recess of the ring adjacent to the lower edge when the first attachment member is engaged with the ring. The second attachment member may have a second hook configured to engage with another lower rib of the body when the first attachment member is engaged with the ring.

[0026] These objects are also reached with a container comprising a receptacle and a leak-proof lid, in which the receptacle has an upper edge and a side wall having a lower annular rim, because the leak-proof lid conforms to at least one of the aforementioned characteristics.

[0027] The container can be made of glass, which is particularly interesting for a reusable food container.

[0028] The invention will be better understood by examining two exemplary embodiments, taken by way of no limitation whatsoever, illustrated in the attached figures, in which: [ Fig 1 ] There figure 1 is a perspective view of an example of an embodiment of a container comprising a watertight lid according to the invention mounted on a container and in an open position, [ Fig 2 ] There figure 2 is a perspective view of the container illustrated on the figure 1 , [ Fig 3 ] There figure 3 is a perspective view of the watertight lid illustrated on the figure 1 , shown in a flat configuration, showing the obturator face, [ Fig 4 ] There figure 4 is a top perspective view of the watertight cover shown on the figures 1 And 3 , shown in a flat configuration, showing the face opposite the obturator face, [ Fig 5 ] There figure 5 is a perspective view of a body of the watertight cover illustrated on the figures 1 , 3 And 4 , shown in a flat configuration, showing the obturator face, [ Fig 6 ] There figure 6 is a perspective view of an annular sealing gasket of the watertight cover illustrated on the figures 1 , 3 And 4 , [ Fig 7 ] There figure 7 is a perspective view of the watertight cover illustrated on the figures 1 , 3 And 4 , mounted on the container illustrated on the figures 1 et 2 , and presenting a closed position, [ Fig 8 ] There figure 8 is a cross-sectional view of the watertight lid shown on the figures 1 , 3 , 4 And 7 , mounted on the container illustrated on the figures 1, 2 And 7 , and presenting a closed position, [ Fig 9 ] There figure 9 is a perspective view of an example of an embodiment of a container comprising a receptacle and a watertight lid according to the invention made in two parts, [ Fig 10 ] There figure 10 is a cross-sectional view of the watertight lid shown on the figure 9 mounted on the container shown on the figure 9 .

[0029] Container 3 shown on the figures 1 , 7 et 8 It comprises a container 1 and a leak-proof lid 2. Container 1 is intended for holding food. The leak-proof lid 2 allows container 1 to be closed. Container 3 can be used for transporting or storing the food contained in container 1.

[0030] Container 1 can be used, in particular, for preparing yogurt. For this purpose, container 1 is advantageously made of glass.

[0031] As best seen on the figure 2 The container 1 has an upper edge 10 and a side wall 12 having a lower annular rim 14. The upper edge 10 is extended by an outer annular side rim 11. The container 1 has a side wall 12 and a bottom 13. The side wall 12 has a lower annular rim 14 arranged outside the container 1 below the outer annular side rim 11. The lower annular rim 14 may be provided to rest on an edge of an opening in a container support, in order to suspend the container 1 in said opening.

[0032] The airtight lid 2 is configured to be used with the container 1 having the upper rim 10 and the side wall 12 having the lower annular rim 14, to form the container 3.

[0033] The container 1 and the airtight lid 2 shown in the figures have a square geometry. The side wall 12 has several faces 15 connected by curved sections 16, and the lower annular rim 14 has several segments connected by rounded parts. Thus, the side wall 12 and the lower annular rim 14 have non-circular geometries. However, other polygonal geometries, for example hexagonal, or non-polygonal geometries, for example elliptical or circular, are possible for the side wall 12 and the lower annular rim 14.

[0034] As best seen on the figures 3 And 4The sealing lid 2 includes an annular support element 20 configured to bear annularly on the upper edge 10 of the container 1. The sealing lid 2 includes a sealing piece 30 configured to seal the upper opening of the container 1 in association with the annular support element 20. The sealing lid 2 includes a latching member 40 connected to the sealing piece 30 by a first elastic hinge 50.

[0035] The sealing lid 2 has a ring 60 connected to the sealing piece 30 by a second elastic hinge 70. The first elastic hinge 50 and the second elastic hinge 70 are arranged on either side of the sealing piece 30. The ring 60 is configured to be mounted around the container 1 to bear against the lower annular rim 14. The latching member 40 is configured to engage with the ring 60 so that the annular support element 20 ensures a seal with the upper edge 10 when the ring 60 bears against the lower annular rim 14 and the latching member 40 is engaged with the ring 60.

[0036] The airtight lid 2 is thus removable from the container 1, and can have a configuration in which the container 1 and the airtight lid 2 form a sealed container.

[0037] The materials used for the airtight lid 2 are chosen to allow for food preservation, see food freezing.

[0038] In the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the ring 60, the first elastic hinge 50, the sealing piece 30, the second elastic hinge 70 and the latching member 40 belong to a body 80, illustrated in the figure 5 The body 80 is made of plastic. Food-grade polypropylene grades resistant to the desired temperature variations can be considered. If desired, the body 80 can be made of transparent or translucent material.

[0039] In the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the annular support element 20 is formed by an annular joint 21 configured to bear against the upper edge 10 when the ring 60 bears against the lower annular rim 14 and the fastening member 40 is engaged with the ring 60, as seen in the figure 8 .

[0040] As seen on the figure 3 The annular joint 21 has a first bearing face 22 with annular ribs 23. In the embodiment example illustrated on the figure 3 The first bearing face 22 has three annular ribs 23. Preferably the first bearing face 22 has between two and four annular ribs 23. The first bearing face 22 is configured to bear on the upper edge 10 when the ring 60 bears under the lower annular rim 14 and the hooking member 40 is engaged with the ring 60.

[0041] As best seen on the figure 5 The body 80 has a peripheral lower annular rib 81. The annular seal 21 is mounted under the body 80, inside the peripheral lower annular rib 81. If desired, the annular seal 21 can be removed for cleaning or replacement. The body 80 has an inner lower annular rib 82 surrounded by the peripheral lower annular rib 81. The peripheral lower annular rib 81 and the inner lower annular rib 82 form an annular groove 84. The annular seal 21 is mounted under the body 80 between the peripheral lower annular rib 81 and the inner lower annular rib 82. In other words, the annular seal 21 is mounted in the annular groove 84. This arrangement improves the seal between the upper edge 10 and the annular seal 21.

[0042] As seen on the figure 6 The annular joint 21 has a second bearing face 24 opposite the first bearing face 22. The second bearing face 24 has annular ribs 25. In the embodiment illustrated on the figure 6 The second bearing face 24 has three annular ribs 25. Preferably the second bearing face 24 has between two and four annular ribs 25. The second bearing face 24 is configured to be mounted between the lower peripheral annular rib 81 and the lower inner annular rib 82.

[0043] As seen on the figures 1 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 7 et 8 , the first elastic hinge 50 is arranged opposite the second elastic hinge 70 with respect to the sealing piece 30.

[0044] As best seen on the figures 3 , 4 And 5The ring 60 has four sides 61, 62, 63, 64. The second elastic hinge 70 is connected to a first side 61. The hooking member 40 is configured to engage with a second side 62 opposite the first side 61. A third side 63 and a fourth side 64 extend between the first side 61 and the second side 62.

[0045] As best seen on the figures 3 , 5 , 7 et 8 The second elastic hinge 70 comprises a first elastic part 71 connected to a second elastic part 72 by an intermediate part 73 which is more rigid than the first elastic part 71 and more rigid than the second elastic part 72. The first elastic part 71 is connected to the ring 60. The second elastic part 72 is connected to the sealing piece 30.

[0046] In the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the attachment member 40 has several attachment elements. As more clearly seen in the figures 3 , 4 , 5 7 et 8 The attachment member 40 has a hook 41 and a second hook 42. As more clearly seen on the figure 8 The hook 41 is configured to engage with a lower edge 65 of the ring 60 when the latching member 40 is engaged with the ring 60. The hook 41 is engaged in a lower recess 66 of the ring 60 adjacent to the lower edge 65 when the latching member 40 is engaged with the ring 60. The second hook 42 is configured to engage with a lower rib 83 of the body 80 when the latching member 40 is engaged with the ring 60. In the embodiment shown in the figures, the lower rib 83 is formed by a portion of the peripheral lower annular rib 81. If desired, the lower rib 83 may be separate from the peripheral lower annular rib 81, or the body 80 may lack a peripheral lower annular rib 81. In the embodiment shown in the figures, the hook 41 is larger than the second bracket 42.

[0047] The airtight lid 2 and the container 3 shown on the figures 1 à 8 They are used in the following way.

[0048] The user can store the airtight lid 2 flat, as shown in the figures 3 And 4 .

[0049] To close the container 3, the user positions the ring 60 under the lower annular rim 14 of the container 1. The user then rotates the sealing piece 30 about the second elastic hinge 70 so that the annular support element 20 bears annularily against the upper edge 10 of the container 1, and also rotates the latching member 40 about the first elastic hinge 50 so that the latching member 40 engages with the ring 60. The hook 41 is then engaged in the lower housing 66, and the second hook 42 then engages with the lower rib 83 of the body 80 formed by a portion of the peripheral lower annular rib 81. The container 3 is then hermetically sealed and can be used for transport or storage.

[0050] To open the container 3, the user releases the hooking member 40 from the ring 60 by rotating it around the first elastic hinge 50, then releases the annular support element 20 from the upper edge 10 of the container 1 by rotating the sealing piece 30 around the second elastic hinge 70. The user can then remove the ring 60 from the container 1.

[0051] The proposed construction makes it possible to obtain a resealable container 3 using a container 1 with relatively undemanding dimensional tolerances, such as, for example, a glass container 1. Attaching the fastening element 40 to the ring 60 allows for a hermetic seal of the container 3 by compressing the annular support element 20 of the airtight lid 2 against the upper edge 10 of the container 1.

[0052] The 2" watertight lid shown on the figures 9 et 10 is also configured for use with the container 1 having the upper edge 10 and the side wall 12 having a lower annular rim 14. Like the sealed lid 2, the sealed lid 2' has an annular support element 20 configured to bear annularly on the upper edge 10, a sealing piece 30', and a latching member 40 connected to the sealing piece 30' by a first elastic hinge 50. The sealed lid 2' has a body 80' made of plastic, comprising the sealing piece 30', the first elastic hinge 50 and the latching member 40.

[0053] The watertight lid 2' has a ring 60' configured to be mounted around the container 1 to bear against the lower annular rim 14. The latching member 40 is configured to engage with the ring 60' such that the annular support element 20 provides a seal with the upper edge 10 when the ring 60' bears against the lower annular rim 14 and the latching member 40 is engaged with the ring 60', as shown in the figure 10 .

[0054] The 2" watertight lid shown on the figures 9 et 10 differs from the airtight lid 2 shown on the figures 1 And 3 à 8in that it comprises another attachment member 40' connected to the shutter piece 30' by another first elastic hinge 50', and in that it does not comprise a second elastic hinge connecting the ring 60' to the shutter piece 30'. Thus, the ring 60' is independent of the shutter piece 30'. The other attachment member 40' can be identical to the attachment member 40.

[0055] The ring 60', the sealing piece 30, the first elastic hinge 50, the hooking member 40, the other first elastic hinge 50' and the other hooking member 40' belong to the body 80'. The ring 60' is independent of the body 80'.

[0056] As best seen on the figure 10 The sealing piece 30' is arranged between the hooking member 40 and the other hooking member 40'. The other hooking member 40' is configured to engage with the ring 60', so that the annular support element 20 ensures a seal with the upper edge 10 when the ring 60' rests under the lower annular rim 14 and the other hooking member 40' is engaged with the ring 60'.

[0057] The annular joint 21 is configured to bear on the upper edge 10 when the ring 60' bears under the lower annular rim 14 and the hooking member 40 and the other hooking member 40' are engaged with the ring 60'.

[0058] The other 40' attachment member has another hook 41' configured to engage with a lower edge of the 60' ring when the other 40' attachment member is engaged with the 60' ring. The other hook 41' is engaged in another lower housing 66' of the 60' ring adjacent to the lower edge when the other 40' attachment member is engaged with the 60' ring. The other 40' attachment member has another second hook 42' configured to engage with another lower rib of the 80' body when the other 40' attachment member is engaged with the 60' ring.

[0059] As best seen on the figure 9 The ring 60' has four sides 61, 62, 63, 64. If desired, the four sides 61, 62, 63, 64 can be identical. The latching member 40 is configured to engage with one of the sides 61, 62, 63, 64. The other latching member 40' is configured to engage with another of the sides 61, 62, 63, 64 opposite the aforementioned side.

[0060] If desired, the watertight cover 2' can include a second elastic hinge connecting the sealing piece 30 to the ring 60'.

[0061] The 2" airtight lid and the 3" container shown on the figures 9 et 10 They are used in the following way.

[0062] The user mounts the 60' ring under the lower annular rim 14 of the container 1. If desired, the user can permanently mount the 60' ring on the container 1. In other words, the 60' ring can be configured to be mounted lightly forcibly around the side wall 12 of the container 1 under the lower annular rim 14.

[0063] To close the container 3', the user positions the body 80' on the container 1 so that the annular support element 20 rests annularily on the upper edge 10 of the container 1. The user then rotates the hook member 40 around the first elastic hinge 50 so that the hook member 40 engages with the ring 60', and then rotates the other hook member 40' around the other first elastic hinge 50' so that the other hook member 40' engages with the ring 60'.

[0064] Hook 41 and the other hook 41' are then engaged respectively in the lower housing 66 and the other lower housing 66'. The second hook 42 and the other second hook 42' then engage with the lower rib 83' of the body 80'. The container 3 is then hermetically sealed and can be used for transport or storage.

[0065] To open the container 3, the user releases the hooking member 40 from the ring 60' by rotating it around the first elastic hinge 50, then the other hooking member 40' from the ring 60' by rotating it around the other first elastic hinge 50. The user can then lift the annular support element 20 from the upper edge 10 of the container 1.

[0066] The proposed construction also allows for a resealable container 3' using a container 1 with relatively undemanding dimensional tolerances, such as, for example, a glass container 1. Attaching the fastening member 40 and the other fastening member 40' to the ring 60' creates a leak-proof seal for the container 3 by compressing the annular support element 20 of the leak-proof lid 2' against the upper edge 10 of the container 1.

[0067] Alternatively, at least part of the sealing piece 30; 30' may belong to the body 80; 80' made of plastic, forming the first elastic hinge 50 as well as the other first elastic hinge 50' and / or the second elastic hinge 70. The sealing piece 30, 30' may include an insert, in particular an insert made of transparent or translucent material, for example, a glass insert. The body 80; 80' may then be overmolded onto the insert.

[0068] As an alternative, the watertight lid 2; 2' does not necessarily include an annular support element 20 formed by an annular seal 21 mounted in a lower peripheral annular rib 81 of the body 80; 80'. According to an alternative embodiment, not shown in the figures, an annular seal could, in particular, be overmolded onto the body 80; 80'. According to another alternative embodiment, not shown in the figures, the annular support element 20 could be formed from the body 80; 80', for example by an annular lip engaged inside or outside the upper edge 10 of the container 1.
