Abstract
Description
1. Scope of the proposed technique
[0001] The field of the proposed technique is that of the design and manufacture of fences and more particularly that of the connection of panels to vertical posts of a fence.
[0002] The proposed technique relates, according to a first aspect, to a part for connecting panels to vertical posts of a fence.
[0003] The proposed technique also relates, according to a second aspect, to a method of manufacturing such connecting parts.
[0004] The proposed technique further relates, according to a third aspect, to a fence comprising at least one such piece for connecting a panel to a vertical post. 2. Prior art
[0005] Fencing installations, commonly called fences, are frequently implemented to demarcate the edges of plots of land and / or to secure access to them.
[0006] A fence generally consists of a succession of posts, the lower end of which is secured, directly or indirectly, to the ground, generally in such a way that they extend essentially vertically, and at least one separation element secured between two successive posts.
[0007] There are a wide variety of separating elements, including: rigid grilles, consisting of a lattice of vertical and horizontal wires; barred grilles, consisting of a partial frame (upper and lower tubes) connected by bars; decorative panels, consisting of a frame incorporating a solid or locally hollowed plate so as to define one or more decorative patterns; photovoltaic panels, consisting of at least one photovoltaic cell carried by a frame; etc.
[0008] A panel means any separation element having at least upper and lower tubes connected to each other, by means of bars, plates, photovoltaic cells, etc.
[0009] Furthermore, such fences include crosspieces, each connected on either side to a vertical post, by means of a cap if necessary, configured on the one hand to support (lower crosspiece) or retain (upper crosspiece) the panels, and on the other hand to contribute to the mechanical strength of the fence.
[0010] However, this technique is not fully satisfactory. There is therefore a need to provide a technique for connecting panels to vertical posts that is inexpensive, simple to use and can be implemented on different types of posts and / or with different types of panels. 3. Summary of the proposed technique
[0011] The proposed technique relates, according to a first aspect, to a single-piece connecting piece for fencing.
[0012] According to the proposed technique, the connecting piece comprises a first tubular portion of closed cross-section, extending along a longitudinal axis, having a first end, capable of cooperating with a fixing end piece on a vertical post of the fence, and a second end extended by a second tubular portion of open cross-section, capable of cooperating with a peripheral portion of the frame of a panel arranged between two posts of the fence.
[0013] The proposed technique therefore makes it possible to exploit the structural rigidity of the panel, and more particularly of its frame, to ensure the connection of this panel to the vertical posts of the fence. The implementation of such single-piece connecting parts therefore makes it possible to avoid the use of crosspieces.
[0014] According to a particular characteristic of the proposed technique, the second tubular portion has a length of between 40 and 70 cm.
[0015] Such a configuration of the second tubular portion makes it possible in particular to ensure an efficient and secure connection of the panel to the connection part.
[0016] According to another particular characteristic of the proposed technique, the connecting part comprises means for fixing the frame of the panel provided in the second tubular portion.
[0017] Such fixing means, preferably reversible, make it possible in particular to simplify the assembly and maintenance of the fence panel.
[0018] According to another particular characteristic of the proposed technique, the second tubular portion is formed by the extension of two adjacent sides of the first tubular portion.
[0019] Such a shape of the second tubular portion allows for simultaneous engagement of the connecting piece on one side of the panel frame and its edge (lower or upper depending on the position of the connecting piece). This therefore ensures that the panel is held in all directions. This results in effective mechanical retention of the panel in the fence.
[0020] According to another particular characteristic of the proposed technique, the second tubular portion is formed by the extension of two opposite sides of said first tubular portion.
[0021] Such a shape of the second tubular portion, which has two portions facing each other, makes it possible in particular to ensure engagement of the connecting piece on each side of the panel frame. This is particularly useful for ensuring effective fixing of the panel to the connecting piece, in particular by the use of fixing screws passing through the two opposite portions.
[0022] Such a shape also makes it possible to simplify the assembly of the panel in the fence, in particular by allowing the panel to slide between the second tubular portions of the connecting parts previously mounted on the post.
[0023] The proposed technique relates, according to a second aspect, to a method of manufacturing two connecting parts as described above. Such a manufacturing method comprises the following steps: providing a tube having a first longitudinal end and a second longitudinal end; at a predetermined distance from the first end of the tube, at least a first partial transverse cut of the tube so as to delimit the first tubular portion of a first connecting piece; from each end of said at least first partial transverse cut, a longitudinal cut of the tube up to a predetermined distance from the second end of the tube so as to delimit the second tubular portions of the first and second connecting pieces;and at the predetermined distance from the second end of the tube, at least one second partial transverse cut of the tube so as to delimit the first tubular portion of a second connecting piece, said at least one second partial transverse cut being opposite said at least one first partial transverse cut so as to ensure a head-to-tail arrangement of the second tubular portions of the first and second connecting pieces.;
[0024] Such a manufacturing process therefore aims to optimize the resources used, in this case the tube, by minimizing, or even eliminating, any unused and therefore discarded tubular portion. This also results in a reduction in manufacturing costs and an improvement in the manufacturing rate of connection parts in accordance with the proposed technique.
[0025] The proposed technique relates, according to a third aspect, to a fence having at least one panel and at least one connecting piece as described previously for connecting a peripheral portion of the panel frame to a vertical post.
[0026] By eliminating, in whole or in part, the use of traditional sleepers, a fence equipped with connecting pieces conforming to the proposed technique is notably lighter than traditional fences. This is particularly advantageous for the handling and transport of such a fence. The use of such connecting pieces also makes it possible to minimize the size of the fence when disassembled. This is also particularly advantageous for storage and transport.
[0027] According to a particular characteristic of the proposed technique, the panel, substantially parallelepiped in shape, is arranged longitudinally between two vertical posts, and at least two longitudinally aligned angles respectively carry a connecting piece to the associated post.
[0028] According to another particular characteristic of the proposed technique, the panel has a predetermined length, and the connecting piece has a length corresponding to a value between 20 and 30% of the length of the panel.
[0029] Such a configuration of the second tubular portion makes it possible in particular to ensure an efficient and secure connection of the panel to the connection part. 4. List of Figures

Detailed description of the proposed technique
[0031] For the sake of clarity, the same elements are designated by the same references in the different figures of the same embodiment. These same elements are designated by the same references in the different figures to which the symbol “ ' ” is added incrementally between each embodiment.
[0032] Furthermore, the terms orientation and positioning are subsequently used to refer arbitrarily to an installed position of the fence, when the latter is fixed, directly or indirectly, to the ground and extends in a plane substantially perpendicular to the ground, so as to be arranged substantially vertically. 5.1 General principle
[0033] As indicated above, fences are known which use crossbars, each connected on either side to a vertical post, configured on the one hand to support (lower crossbar) or retain (upper crossbar) panels, and on the other hand to contribute to the mechanical strength of the fence.
[0034] Seeking to reduce the amount of resources used in the manufacture of fences, the inventors of the proposed technique found that the panels inherently, via their respective frames, had sufficient rigidity to ensure the mechanical strength traditionally achieved by sleepers.
[0035] Based on this observation, and at the cost of a non-obvious approach taking into account the different types of frames in particular, the inventors identified a new and inventive technique exploiting the structural rigidity of the panel to ensure the connection of the panel to the associated vertical posts.
[0036] The general principle of the proposed technique therefore consists of a single-piece connecting piece for fencing comprising a first tubular portion of closed cross-section extended by a second tubular portion of open cross-section and allowing the connection of a panel to a vertical post of the fence.
[0037] Typically, four connecting pieces conforming to the proposed technique are added in the extension of each corner of the panel and then mounted on the associated post. The proposed technique thus makes it possible to avoid the use of traditional crosspieces.
[0038] This translates in particular into a reduction in the quantity of resources used for the manufacture of fences, and therefore a reduction in their mass. Such a connecting piece also simplifies the assembly and maintenance of the fence which is equipped with it.
[0039] The proposed technique also relates to a fence comprising at least one such connecting piece.
[0040] The proposed technique further relates to an inventive method of manufacturing two connecting pieces in accordance with the proposed technique, arranged head to tail. 5.2 Description of an illustrative embodiment
[0041] A first embodiment of the proposed technique is then illustrated, treated as a simple illustrative, and non-limiting, example, in support of the Figures 1 to 10C . 5.2.1 One-piece connecting piece
[0042] THE Figures 1 and 2 illustrate an isolated connecting piece and the figures 3 to 8 illustrate a fence whose panels are coupled to the vertical posts by means of such connecting pieces.
[0043] In this embodiment, the single-piece connecting piece 1 comprises a first tubular portion 10, of square cross-section, extending along a longitudinal axis X.
[0044] The first tubular portion 10 has a first end 10 1 capable of cooperating with a tip E for fixing to a vertical post P of a fence C, as illustrated in figures 2 And 7 notably.
[0045] The first tubular portion 10 further has a second end 10 2 , opposite the first end 10 1 , which is partially extended by a second tubular portion 11 capable of cooperating with a peripheral frame portion 21 of a panel 2 arranged between two consecutive posts P of the fence C, as illustrated in figures 3 And 4 notably.
[0046] This second tubular portion 11, which corresponds to the extension of two adjacent sides of the first tubular portion 10, has an open cross-section having substantially the shape of an “L”.
[0047] Such a shape of the second tubular portion 11 makes it possible to simultaneously ensure engagement of the connecting piece 1 on one side of the frame 21 of the panel 2 and on the edge (lower or upper depending on the position of the connecting piece) of this same frame, as illustrated in figures 3 And 4 in particular. This therefore ensures that the panel is held in place in all directions.
[0048] Furthermore, the second tubular portion 11 of the connecting piece 1 has a length L 11 predetermined as a function of the length L 2 of the panel 2 of the fence C. More precisely, the length L 11 of the second tubular portion 11 is determined so as to ensure the connection and maintenance of the panel.
[0049] In this embodiment, in order to ensure an efficient and secure connection of the panel 2 to a connecting piece 1, the length L 11 of the second tubular portion 11 corresponds to a value between 20 and 30% of the length L 2 of the fence panel 2, as illustrated in figure 3 notably.
[0050] The second tubular portion 11 further has means 112 for fixing the connecting piece 1 to the frame 21 of the fence panel 2.
[0051] In the example illustrated, the fence C comprises vertical posts P, spaced from each other and planted in the ground S, between which are positioned, in the upper and central parts, two photovoltaic panels 2 and, in the lower part, a rigid grid G made up of a lattice of vertical and horizontal wires.
[0052] Each photovoltaic panel 2 has a complete frame 21 formed of vertical tubes whose common ends are connected by horizontal tubes. The photovoltaic cell(s) are thus bordered by tubes.
[0053] Each panel 2 carries, at its corners, a connecting piece 1 conforming to the proposed technique cooperating with an end piece E. More precisely, each connecting piece 1 is attached to one end of the vertical tubes of the frame 21.
[0054] This end piece E comprises a sleeve, capable of being inserted into the first end 10 1 of the first tubular portion 10, from which a fixing insert projects. This fixing insert is configured to cooperate with a fixing clip F1 removably mounted on the post P. To do this, the fixing clip F1 comprises lugs configured to be inserted into holes P 10 of the post, as illustrated in figure 7 .
[0055] In this example, where the panel 2 has a length L 2 of 278 cm, the second tubular portion 11 of each connecting piece 1 has a length L 11 of 58 cm, i.e. approximately 21% of the length L 2 of the panel 2.
[0056] Obviously, depending on the length L 2 of the panel 2, the length L 11 of the second tubular portion 11 can be between 40 and 70 cm, preferably between 50 and 60 cm, for example.
[0057] Furthermore, in this example, the fixing means 112 of the connecting part 1 are formed by a plurality of holes for the passage of fixing screws intended to be inserted into the vertical tubes of the frame 21 of the panel 2. 5.2.2 Manufacturing process
[0058] The proposed technique also relates, according to another aspect, to a method of manufacturing two identical single-piece connecting parts 1 conforming to this first embodiment.
[0059] There figure 9 is a flowchart of the main stages of manufacturing two connecting parts conforming to the proposed technique. The Figures 10A to 10C illustrate some of these manufacturing steps.
[0060] Such a manufacturing process includes in particular the following main steps: the provision S1 of a tube T having a first longitudinal end T E1 and a second longitudinal end T E2; at a predetermined distance D1 from the first end T E1 of the tube, at least a first partial transverse cut S2 of the tube, in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X, so as to delimit the first tubular portion 10 of a first connecting piece 1, as illustrated in Figure 10A; from each end of said at least first partial transverse cut, a longitudinal cut S3 of the tube, along the longitudinal axis X, up to a predetermined distance D2 from the second end T E2 of the tube T so as to delimit the second tubular portions 11 of the first and second connecting pieces 1, as illustrated in Figure 10B ; at the predetermined distance D2 from the second end T E2 of the tube, at least one second partial transverse cut S4 of the tube, in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X, so as to delimit the first tubular portion 10 of a second connecting part 1, said at least one second partial transverse cut is opposite said at least one first partial transverse cut so as to ensure a head-to-tail arrangement, as illustrated in Figure 10C .
[0061] Obviously, the cutting steps can be carried out via a continuous cutting operation, i.e. by alternating transverse and longitudinal cuts, or discontinuous, i.e. by first carrying out the transverse cuts then the longitudinal cuts, or vice versa.
[0062] The manufacturing method further comprises drilling S5 the orifices 112 for the passage of fixing means on the second tubular portions 11 of the first and second connecting parts 1.
[0063] Such a drilling step is preferably carried out upstream of the cutouts, on the tube therefore, but can also be carried out downstream, on each of the two connection parts 1 in this case.
[0064] It appears that such a process makes it possible to ensure, from a single tube of suitable cross-section, the manufacture of two identical single-piece connecting pieces 1 arranged head to tail.
[0065] Such a manufacturing process therefore makes it possible to ensure rapid and economical manufacturing of single-piece connecting parts conforming to the proposed technique. 5.2 Other embodiments illustrated
[0066] THE Figures 11A and 11B illustrate, according to schematic perspective and cross-sectional views respectively, a single-piece connecting part in accordance with a second embodiment of the proposed technique.
[0067] This second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the pattern of the opening of the open cross-section. For reasons of clarity and conciseness, only the differences from the first embodiment are described below.
[0068] In this second embodiment, the second tubular portion 11' of the connecting piece 1' corresponds to the extension of two opposite sides of the first tubular portion 10' of square cross-section.
[0069] The second tubular portion 11' thus has a cross-section formed of two straight lines parallel to each other, i.e. substantially in the shape of an "II". This is clearly evident from the Figure 11B , which is a cross-sectional view, according to plane P 11 , of the connecting piece 1' illustrated in Figure 11A .
[0070] Again, the particular shape of the tubular portion 11' is such that it is possible, from a single tube of square section, to shape two connecting pieces 1', arranged head to tail, via a manufacturing process similar to that described in the first embodiment.
[0071] The shape of the second tubular portion 11', which has two facing portions, makes it possible in particular to ensure engagement of the connecting piece 1' on each side of the panel frame. This can be particularly useful for ensuring effective fixing of the panel to the connecting piece 1', in particular by the use of fixing screws passing through the two opposite portions of the second tubular portion 11'.
[0072] THE Figures 12A and 12B illustrate, according to schematic perspective and cross-sectional views respectively, a single-piece connecting part in accordance with a third embodiment of the proposed technique.
[0073] This third embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the shape of its cross-sections and, by extension, in the pattern of the opening of the open cross-section. For the sake of clarity and conciseness, only the differences from the first embodiment are described hereinafter.
[0074] In this third embodiment, the first tubular portion 10" of the connecting piece 1" has an annular cross section.
[0075] The second 11" tubular portion has a semicircular cross-section, i.e. roughly C-shaped. This is clearly evident from the Figure 12B , which is a cross-sectional view, according to plane P 12 , of the connecting piece 1" illustrated in Figure 12A .
[0076] The semi-circular shape of the second tubular portion 11" is such that it is possible, from a single tube of annular section, to shape two connecting pieces 1", arranged head to tail, via a manufacturing process similar to that described in the first embodiment.
[0077] A connecting piece conforming to this third embodiment, which has substantially the same advantages as that of the first embodiment, is particularly interesting for all fences equipped with panels whose frame is formed from annular tubular portions, at least on the connection areas.
[0078] THE Figures 13A and 13B illustrate, according to schematic perspective and cross-sectional views respectively, a single-piece connecting part in accordance with a fourth embodiment of the proposed technique.
[0079] This fourth embodiment differs from the second embodiment in the shape of its cross-sections, and by extension, in the pattern of the opening of the open cross-section. For reasons of clarity and conciseness, only the differences from the second embodiment are described below.
[0080] In this fourth embodiment, the first tubular portion 10'" of the connecting piece 1‴ has an annular cross section.
[0081] The second tubular portion 11‴ of the connecting piece 1‴ corresponds to the extension of two quarter circles, also called “sides”, opposite the first tubular portion 10” of annular cross-section. This is clear from the Figure 13B , which is a cross-sectional view, according to plane P 13 , of the connecting piece 1‴ illustrated in Figure 13A .
[0082] Again, the particular shape of the tubular portion 11‴ is such that it is possible, from a single tube of annular section, to shape two connecting pieces 1‴, arranged head to tail, via a manufacturing process similar to that described in the first embodiment.
[0083] A connecting piece conforming to this fourth embodiment, which has substantially the same advantages as that of the third embodiment, is particularly interesting for all fences equipped with panels whose frame is formed from annular tubular portions, at least on the connection areas. 5.3 Other embodiments not illustrated and alternative embodiments
[0084] In the example illustrated in relation to the first embodiment, the fence comprises two photovoltaic panels. Of course, depending on the needs, the fence can comprise more or fewer photovoltaic panels and / or panels of other types (as long as they have a frame).
[0085] Furthermore, in the example illustrated in relation to the first embodiment, the frame of each panel is formed of vertical tubes whose common ends are connected by horizontal tubes. Obviously, depending on the requirements, the frame can be partial and therefore formed only of vertical tubes (top and bottom).
[0086] In the example illustrated in relation to the first embodiment, the fence is installed by placing the posts directly in the ground. Alternatively, the posts are connected to plates which are themselves fixed to concrete blocks or stringers.
[0087] In the example illustrated in relation to the first embodiment, the fixing means are holes for the passage of fixing screws. Obviously, any other fixing means, such as snap-on lugs, can be used.
[0088] In the example illustrated in relation to the first embodiment, the fence comprises, in the lower part, a grid. Obviously, depending on the needs and / or the topography of the land, it is possible to do without such a grid or to replace it with another separation element. For example, it may be possible to consider implementing a base plate allowing a better finish to the fence and protecting it, particularly during mowing.
[0089] In the various embodiments illustrated, the second tubular portions of the connecting pieces are defined so as to allow, from a single tube, two identical connecting pieces arranged head to tail to be shaped. However, in alternative embodiments, not illustrated, the solid and empty portions of the open cross-sections may not be symmetrical. In such cases, any other manufacturing method, less optimized because it does not allow the simultaneous manufacturing of two identical connecting pieces, may be implemented. This may for example be the case when the tube from which the connecting piece is shaped has a rectangular cross-section.
[0090] In the various embodiments illustrated, the first end of the first tubular portion cooperates with a fixing end piece (intermediate piece). However, in another embodiment, not illustrated, this first end is secured directly to the post.
[0091] In a non-illustrated embodiment, the first tubular portion of the connecting piece has an oval cross-section. Such a shape makes it possible in particular to combine the simplicity of manufacture of the third embodiment and the holding efficiency of the fourth embodiment.
[0092] Obviously, the proposed technique is not limited to the embodiments described above and provided solely as an example. It encompasses various modifications, alternative forms and other variants that may be envisaged by those skilled in the art within the framework of the proposed technique and in particular all combinations of the different embodiments described above, which may be taken separately or in association.
[0093] According to different aspects, the proposed technique therefore presents all or part of the following advantages, depending on the embodiments chosen: limit the use of resources for the manufacture of fences; reduce the mass of a fence; offer a versatile solution, adaptable to several types of fence panels, allow limited space requirements; guarantee significant longevity; limit manufacturing costs; guarantee simplicity of manufacture; etc.
