Abstract
Description
[0001] Illuminatable glazing
[0002] The invention relates to a glazing arrangement with a light source.
[0003] Motor vehicles have a light distribution system in their interior that provides subtle or striking illumination, depending on requirements. This lighting not only provides orientation within the vehicle but also creates a pleasant atmosphere for passengers. Laminated glass, consisting of two or more glass or polymer panes, is used in vehicles as windshields, rear windows, side windows, and roof windows. In illuminable or illuminated glazing, light from a light source is coupled into a flat light guide in the form of a pane of the glazing using total internal reflection.
[0004] WO 2010 / 049638 A1 , WO 2013 / 053629 A1 , WO 2014060409 A1 or WO 2015 / 095288 A2 disclose the coupling of light into a glass pane via a side surface. If the light source is placed very close to the edge of the glass, light can be coupled into the light guide very efficiently and across the entire width of the light guide. This makes it possible to achieve very homogeneous planar illumination. From WO2013 / 110885 A1 , WO2018178591 A1 or WO2019 / 105855 A1 it is known to arrange the light source in a recess and thereby couple the light into the pane. The recesses are usually arranged in one of the two glass panes of a composite pane and are hidden by an opaque print when looking at the other of the two glass panes.Depending on the opacity of this print, the light source may be visible when looking at the other pane of glass, and a slightly brighter halo of light may appear around the point where the light is coupled into the pane. This should be avoided for aesthetic reasons.
[0005] DE 102017 103296 A1 discloses a pane arrangement with an illumination device. The illumination device is connected to the pane body and comprises a light source and a light guide layer attached to the pane body.
[0006] WO 2018 / 178591 A1 discloses a glazing assembly with an LED arranged in a recess. The glazing assembly includes a light-guiding element. The object of the present invention is to provide an improved glazing assembly that is highly efficient and has increased reliability.
[0007] This object is achieved by a glazing arrangement according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments emerge from the subclaims.
[0008] The glazing assembly according to the invention comprises a first pane with a first main surface and a second main surface. The first pane is connected to a second pane via an intermediate layer to form a composite pane. The first pane is designed to at least partially transmit coupled-in light. Furthermore, the glazing assembly comprises a light source for generating light that can be coupled into the first pane, which light source is arranged in a recess in the first pane. Furthermore, the glazing assembly comprises a cover for the recess and a filler material in the recess that is transparent to the optical radiation from the light source.
[0009] The filler material serves to embed the light source in the recess. This improves the coupling of the light emitted from the light source into the first pane. The glazing arrangement according to the invention achieves high efficiency and increased reliability, since the resulting light emerging from the light source enters the first pane in a targeted manner.
[0010] Preferably, the filler material is made of a hard, soft, deformable, gel-like, and / or liquid material. In particular, the deformable material can form-fit the recess, preventing any disruptive scattered light from escaping. The filler material can comprise, for example, silicone or resin, in particular synthetic resin.
[0011] The filler material in the recess can have a refractive index of 1.45 to 1.55. The refractive index of the filler material is selected to prevent total internal reflection at the interfaces between the filler material and the first pane. In particular, the refractive index of the filler material np and the refractive index of the first pane ns are selected such that np ≤ ns. Particularly advantageously, the filler material has a refractive index similar to that of glass.
[0012] For the purposes of the present invention, refractive indices are generally specified relative to a wavelength of 550 nm. The refractive index is fundamentally independent of the measurement method; it can be determined, for example, using ellipsometry. Ellipsometers are commercially available. The same measurement method is used to determine the refractive index of the filler material as for determining the refractive index of the first pane.
[0013] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the filler material is transparent. This allows the light to be coupled into the first pane particularly effectively.
[0014] In a further development of the invention, the filler material is additionally arranged around the recess on the first main surface of the first pane. For example, the filler material can protrude by approximately 2 mm to 50 mm, preferably 5 mm to 30 mm.
[0015] In an advantageous embodiment of a glazing arrangement according to the invention, the light source contains at least one light-emitting diode (LED), preferably at least one organic light-emitting diode (OLED), and / or at least one laser diode.
[0016] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the glazing arrangement additionally has a light guide in the recess. The light guide is provided for guiding the light so that the light generated by the light source enters the first pane. The light source and the light guide can be designed as a single structural unit, in particular a module. The structural unit can comprise an LED board comprising one or more LEDs. Furthermore, the LED board can be designed as a printed circuit board (PCB). Preferably, the light source comprises several LEDs. This type of light source is particularly bright and effective. The structural unit can be removably arranged on the first pane. A reversibly closed opening of the recess to the (vehicle) interior can also be advantageous with regard to maintenance work on the structural unit. In this embodiment, the filler material serves to embed the light guide with the light source in the recess. This improves the coupling of the light emitted from the light source into the first pane. The glazing arrangement achieves high efficiency and increased reliability, as the resulting light emerging from the light guide enters the first pane in a targeted manner.
[0017] Depending on the design variant, the particularly reflective cover can be disc-shaped, preferably made of aluminum. For example, the cover can be reflective and have a highly reflective layer on the side facing the recess. Preferably, the cover is arranged on the second main surface (III) of the first disc, with the reflective cover completely covering the recess. Preferably, the cover can be arranged all around the recess. The cover can project approximately 2 mm to 50 mm, preferably 5 mm to 30 mm.
[0018] The cover prevents moisture or components from the intermediate layer from diffusing into the recess. The cover is preferably designed as a metal foil or a metallized plastic film. Metal foils reflect well and can effectively redirect light emerging in the area of the light source back into the first pane. The metal foil is preferably an aluminum foil. It is understood that such films or layers can also be arranged on carrier films, for example, polymeric carrier films such as polyimide or polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
[0019] The cover is preferably directly connected to the second main surface of the first pane. It can be connected to the second main surface of the first pane, for example, via an adhesive layer. Preferably, the cover is additionally suitable for suppressing or redirecting light emerging from the first pane into the first pane by reflection, preferably directed reflection, scattering, preferably diffuse scattering, or diffraction.
[0020] In a particularly preferred embodiment, a shielding element for shielding the light source is arranged between the reflective cover and the second pane. When the glazing arrangement is in the installed position, the shielding element shields the light source from the outside. The shielding element completely covers the reflective cover. The shielding element is arranged in the region of the light source, i.e., when viewed through the composite pane, it overlaps with the recess in which the light source and the light guide are arranged. The shielding element is thus arranged in a locally limited area, i.e., not over the entire surface of the composite pane. Furthermore, the cover can be arranged around (on all sides) the recess and protrude by approximately 2 mm to 50 mm, preferably 5 mm to 30 mm. In other words, the cover can have a larger cross-sectional area than the recess and / or the cover. This has the advantage that no light is emitted from the recess towards the second pane, and the recess is shielded particularly tightly and stably. The shielding element can contain an opaque, preferably black, polyethylene (PET) film or a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film. In the context of the invention, opaque means that a viewer cannot see through the film, the intermediate layer, or the cover layer. The intermediate layer is preferably made of PVB. Therefore, a shielding element made of PVB can be particularly well integrated into an intermediate layer made of PVB. PET can be easily processed as a colored film because it is compatible with the common materials for the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer and the shielding element preferably have the same thickness.
[0021] The recess and the opaque shielding element can independently have any geometric shape, such as the shape of a circle, quadrilateral, triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon or any other regular or irregular polygon.
[0022] In an advantageous embodiment of the glazing assembly according to the invention, an opaque cover layer is arranged in a peripheral edge region on the second main surface (II) of the second pane. The cover layer can extend from the edge of the second pane over a distance of 1 mm to 500 mm, preferably 10 mm to 150 mm, particularly preferably 10 mm to 15 mm. In particular, the cover layer and the recess overlap at least partially in the viewing direction of the composite pane.
[0023] The cover layer is also referred to as a cover print or black print. The cover print is formed from a printing ink. The cover layer can be formed from an opaque enamel, preferably applied as a screen print or as a digital print. The enamel can contain glass frits and / or mineral frits and optionally at least one pigment, preferably glass frits and / or mineral frits based on oxides selected from boron, bismuth, zinc, silicon, aluminum, and sodium. The pigment ensures the opacity of the cover layer. The pigment can be a black pigment, for example pigment black (carbon black), aniline black, bone black, iron oxide black, spinel black, and / or graphite. Alternatively, the cover layer can be formed as an adhesive tape, in particular a black one, or a base layer, so-called primer. The composite pane can have multiple cover layers. The cover layers can have a layer thickness of 5 pm to 50 pm, particularly preferably of 8 pm to 25 pm.
[0024] The laminated pane has a see-through area where the laminated pane has no covering layer. The see-through area of the laminated pane accounts for at least 30%, preferably 50%, of the surface area of the laminated pane. If the laminated pane is designed as a roof pane or windshield, the see-through area can account for at least 70% or at least 80% of the surface area of the laminated pane.
[0025] Basically, all electrically insulating substrates that are thermally and chemically stable as well as dimensionally stable under the conditions of manufacture and use of the composite pane are suitable as the first pane and second pane.
[0026] The first pane and the second pane preferably contain glass, more preferably float glass made of clear glass, most preferably diamond glass. Alternatively, the panes can also contain flat glass such as soda-lime glass, borosilicate glass or quartz glass, or clear plastics, rigid clear plastics, in particular polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, polyamide, polyester, polyvinyl chloride and / or mixtures thereof. The first pane and / or second pane are preferably transparent, in particular for use of the panes as a roof pane, windshield or rear window of a vehicle or other applications where high light transmission is desired. In particular, at least the first pane and preferably also the second pane are made of clear glass.
[0027] A coating, in particular a pane or an object, is understood to be transparent if the coating, the pane or the object has a transmission in the visible spectral range of greater than 20%, preferably 50%, particularly preferably greater than 70%, in particular greater than 85%.
[0028] For windows that are not in the driver's relevant field of vision, such as roof windows, the transmission can be much lower, perhaps greater than 5%. For this purpose, the second pane and / or the intermediate layer can be tinted or colored.
[0029] The thickness of the first pane and the second pane can vary widely and thus be perfectly adapted to the requirements of the individual case. Standard thicknesses of 1.0 mm to 25 mm are preferably used, preferably 1.4 mm to 2.5 mm for vehicle glass and preferably 4 mm to 25 mm for furniture, appliances and buildings. The size of the panes can vary widely and depends on the size of the inventive use. The first pane and the second pane have areas of 200 cm, for example, which are common in vehicle construction and architecture. 2 up to 20 m 2The composite pane can have any three-dimensional shape. Preferably, the three-dimensional shape has no shadow zones, so that it can be coated with additional coatings, for example, by cathode sputtering. The panes are preferably planar or slightly or strongly curved in one or more directions of space. Planar substrates are used in particular. The panes can be colorless or colored.
[0030] The first pane and the second pane are connected to one another by at least the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer is preferably transparent, tinted, or colored. The intermediate layer preferably contains or consists of at least one plastic, preferably polyvinyl butyral (PVB), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), and / or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). However, the intermediate layer can also contain, for example, polyurethane (PU), polypropylene (PP), polyacrylate, polyethylene (PE), polycarbonate (PC), polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, polyacetate resin, casting resins, acrylates, fluorinated ethylene-propylene, polyvinyl fluoride, and / or ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene, or copolymers or mixtures thereof. The intermediate layer can be formed by one or more films arranged one above the other, with the thickness of a film preferably being from 0.025 mm to 1 mm, typically 0.38 mm or 0.76 mm.The intermediate layers can preferably be thermoplastic and, after lamination, bond the first pane, the second pane, and any additional intermediate layers together. So-called acoustically dampening intermediate layers, which preferably consist of three layers of PVB, are particularly advantageous, with the middle layer being softer than the two outer layers.
[0031] The intermediate layer may also comprise a functional layer, in particular an infrared-reflecting layer, an infrared-absorbing layer, a UV-absorbing layer, a layer that is colored at least in sections, and / or a layer that is tinted at least in sections. For example, the thermoplastic intermediate layer may also be a bandpass filter.
[0032] The terms “first pane” and “second pane” are chosen to distinguish between the two panes in a composite pane according to the invention. These terms do not imply any statement about the geometric arrangement. If the composite pane according to the invention is intended, for example, to separate the interior from the exterior in an opening, for example in a vehicle or a building, the first pane can face the interior or the exterior. In an advantageous embodiment of the glazing according to the invention, a light extraction means can be attached to / in at least one of the main surfaces, preferably to / in the second main surface of the first pane. The light coupled into the first pane is then coupled out of the first pane via the light extraction means, thus causing the first pane to illuminate there. The light extraction means is suitable for extracting a portion of the light guided in the first disc, preferably by scattering, reflection, refraction or diffraction, at at least one of the main surfaces of the first disc.
[0033] Advantageously, the light coupling means is arranged or incorporated into the first main surface and / or into the second main surface and / or within the first pane.
[0034] For this purpose, the light extraction means is preferably introduced into the first main surface and / or the second main surface by laser structuring, mechanical structuring such as sandblasting and / or by etching.
[0035] Alternatively or in combination, the light coupling means can be materially connected to the first main surface and / or to the second main surface of the first pane, preferably by printing or gluing on a color, a paste or particles, particularly preferably light-scattering, light-refracting or light-reflecting particles.
[0036] Alternatively or in combination, the light coupling means may comprise or consist of particles, particularly preferably light-scattering, light-refracting, light-diffracting or light-reflecting particles or cavities, which are arranged within the first disc.
[0037] In an advantageous embodiment, the composite pane is a roof pane of a motor vehicle, with the first pane being the inner pane and the second pane being the outer pane. This achieves the technical advantage, for example, of allowing the glazing assembly to be used in a particularly suitable location.
[0038] Furthermore, the first pane and / or the second pane can have other suitable coatings, for example an anti-reflection coating, a non-stick coating, an anti-scratch coating, a photocatalytic coating, a sun protection coating, and / or a low-E coating. In a preferred embodiment, the second pane is provided on its second main surface with a transparent functional coating comprising electrically conductive layers. The transparent functional coating is preferably a sun protection coating. Sun protection coatings reflect portions of solar radiation in the near-infrared spectrum and prevent them from penetrating and heating the vehicle interior. They typically have one or more silver layers that provide the IR-reflecting properties, as is known, for example, from WO2013 / 104439A1 and DE 19927683C1.Therefore, these layers are arranged on the side of the second pane facing the thermoplastic intermediate layer to protect it from corrosion and mechanical damage.
[0039] In a preferred embodiment, the first pane is provided with a low-E coating on its first main surface. Low-E coatings are emissivity-reducing coatings and reflect IR radiation, in particular the thermal radiation emanating from a heated glass pane. The penetration of thermal radiation into the vehicle interior is reduced, which also results in less heating of the interior. In winter, at low outside temperatures, the radiation of heat from the interior to the outside environment is prevented. Transparent emissivity-reducing coatings can, for example, contain reflective layers based on indium tin oxide (ITO) or other transparent conductive oxides (TCO), as known, for example, from WO2013 / 131667A1. When designed as a roof pane, these ensure that thermal radiation is reflected into the interior of the vehicle, which significantly increases comfort for the vehicle occupants. The low-E coating preferably does not contain any silver layers and can thus be arranged on the first main surface of the first disc without causing problems with corrosion.
[0040] In a preferred embodiment of the glazing arrangement according to the invention, a functional coating comprising electrically conductive layers, in particular silver layers, is arranged on the second main surface of the second pane. The opaque cover print is arranged in the edge region of the functional coating. This means that the opaque cover print is printed directly onto the functional coating. The cover print is preferably formed from a printing ink that has corrosive properties compared to the functional coating. In this case, the advantages of the invention are particularly evident, since a cover print formed in this way is often unable to adequately conceal the light source when switched on. Here, an additional measure, namely the shielding element according to the invention, is an excellent solution.Furthermore, the glazing arrangement can optionally comprise further functional elements, in particular electronically controllable optical elements, for example PDLC elements, electrochromic elements or the like, which are typically arranged between the first pane and the second pane.
[0041] A further aspect of the invention encompasses the glazing assembly according to the invention, comprising a voltage source and control electronics connected to the light source. The voltage source and control electronics can control the light source so that it emits light when a voltage is applied to the light source.
[0042] In a further aspect, the present invention comprises vehicles, in particular passenger cars, with a glazing arrangement according to the invention.
[0043] In a further aspect, the present invention comprises a method for producing a glazing arrangement according to the invention, at least comprising:
[0044] • Providing a first pane, a second pane and an intermediate layer, in particular a thermoplastic layer,
[0045] • Creating at least one recess in the first disc,
[0046] • Arranging the cover on the recess,
[0047] • Connecting the first disc and the second disc via the thermoplastic intermediate layer, so that the second main surface (III) of the first disc faces the thermoplastic intermediate layer,
[0048] • Filling the recess with the filling material that is transparent to optical radiation,
[0049] • Arranging at least one light source in the recess.
[0050] The first and second panes are laminated together via the intermediate layer, for example, using autoclave processes, vacuum bag processes, vacuum ring processes, calender processes, vacuum laminators, or combinations thereof. The bonding of the panes is typically achieved under the influence of heat, vacuum, and / or pressure.
[0051] The recess can be created using a wide variety of methods for drilling or cutting glass known to those skilled in the art. Preferably, the first pane and the second pane comprise glass. The recess is created in the pane using a laser process. This is particularly advantageous because laser processes can be carried out without mechanical processing steps, such as breaking through mechanical pressure. This cuts the glass pane gently, resulting in smooth cut edges without disruptive damage. Laser processing is particularly useful when using thin glass panes (thickness less than or equal to 1.4 mm).
[0052] The thermoplastic intermediate layer is preferably provided as a film.
[0053] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the method, a light guide is arranged in the recess together with the light source. The light source and the light guide can be designed as a single unit, in particular a module. The single unit can comprise an LED circuit board comprising one or more LEDs.
[0054] Furthermore, the present invention encompasses the use of the glazing arrangement according to the invention in means of transport for traffic on land, in the air or on water, in particular in motor vehicles, for example as a roof window, rear window and / or side window.
[0055] Within the scope of the present invention, all embodiments mentioned for individual features can also be freely combined with one another, provided they are not contradictory.
[0056] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to figures and exemplary embodiments. The figures are schematic representations and not to scale. The figures do not limit the invention in any way.
[0057] They show:
[0058] Figure 1 is a plan view of an embodiment of a composite pane according to the invention using the example of a roof pane of a vehicle,
[0059] Figure 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a first embodiment of the glazing arrangement according to the invention without a filling material, and
[0060] Figure 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the glazing arrangement according to the invention with filling material,
[0061] Figure 4 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a third embodiment of the glazing arrangement according to the invention with a shielding element,
[0062] Figure 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a fourth embodiment of the glazing arrangement according to the invention.
[0063] Numerical values are generally not to be understood as exact values, but also include a tolerance of + / - 1% to + / - 10%.
[0064] Figure 1 shows a plan view of an embodiment of a glazing assembly 10 according to the invention. The glazing assembly 10 comprises a composite pane 101 and at least one structural unit 5. The glazing assembly 10 can, for example, be a roof pane for a vehicle. Alternatively, the glazing assembly 10 can be structural glazing or a component of a piece of furniture or electrical device. The glazing assembly 10 can also be part of an insulating glazing unit and serve, for example, as an outer or inner pane in a window of a building. Furthermore, the glazing assembly 10 can be installed in an interior space and can serve, for example, as glazing in a conference room.
[0065] The glazing assembly 10 comprises the laminated pane 101 and two structural units 5, each with a light source 5.1. The light sources 5.1 are designed to emit light in the visible range. Alternatively, they can emit infrared or ultraviolet light.
[0066] The composite pane 101 further comprises four light extraction means 11. A light extraction means 11 extracts light from the composite pane 101. The light extraction means 11 are arranged on a first main surface (IV) of the composite pane 101. At the location where a light extraction means 11 is arranged, the light can exit the composite pane 101 via the main surface (IV).
[0067] The light extraction means 11 can be arranged at any location on the first main surface (IV). In Figure 1, the light extraction means 1 comprises structures on the main surface IV, at which total internal reflection within the composite pane 101 is prevented and light exits the composite pane 101 via the main surface (IV). The light extraction means 11 can comprise an imprint on the first main surface (IV) or light-scattering, light-refracting, light-diffracting, or light-reflecting particles or cavities introduced into the composite pane 101.
[0068] In the present embodiment, the light extraction means 11 is formed as an imprint of fine light-scattering particles on the main surface (IV). This interrupts the total internal reflection of a light beam at the interface between the composite pane 101 and the surrounding air, and the light is extracted from the composite pane 101 by scattering.
[0069] The composite pane 101 has a see-through area 15 and an edge area 16. A cover layer 4 is arranged in the edge area 16. The composite pane 101 also includes a circumferential pane edge 17. The cover layer 4 extends circumferentially along the entire circumferential pane edge 17. In this embodiment, the cover layer 4 extends frame-like in the edge area 16 of the composite pane 101. The cover layer 16 frames the see-through area 12.
[0070] Alternatively, the cover layer 4 can be arranged at least partially along the circumferential pane edge 12. The width of the edge region 16 can vary. In this embodiment, the width of the edge region 16 is measured from the pane edge 12 and is, for example, 10 mm, 50 mm, or 100 mm.
[0071] The laminated pane 101 has a see-through area 15 in which the laminated pane 101 has no covering layer. The see-through area 15 of the laminated pane 101 makes up at least 70% of the surface of the laminated pane.
[0072] Figure 2 shows a cross-sectional view of the glazing assembly 10 according to the invention from Figure 1. The composite pane 101 comprises a first pane 1, which is connected to a second pane 2 via an intermediate layer 3. The first pane 1, the intermediate layer 3, and the second pane 6 were connected to one another by lamination, in particular autoclaving. The first pane 1 has a first main surface IV and a second main surface III opposite the first main surface IV. The second pane 2 has a first main surface I and a second main surface II opposite the first main surface I.
[0073] The side surfaces of the composite pane 101 are arranged orthogonally to the main surfaces III, IV. The first pane 1 and the second pane 2 are made, for example, of soda-lime glass. The intermediate layer 3 is thermoplastic and is formed, for example, from a 0.76 mm thick PVB film. The thickness of the first pane 1 is, for example, 1.6 mm and the thickness of the second pane 2 is 2.1 mm. The first pane 1 and the second pane
[0074] 2 can also have any thickness, for example, be the same thickness. The composite pane 101 is defined by four circumferential side surfaces.
[0075] The first pane 1 can comprise tempered, semi-tempered, or non-tempered glass. Alternatively, the first pane 1 can be made of a plastic, for example, polycarbonate. The first pane 1, the second pane 2, and the intermediate layer
[0076] 3 are, for example, clear (neither tinted nor colored). Alternatively, the intermediate layer 3 can have a tinted, in particular a dark tint (gray, brown, blue) or colored PVB film. Alternatively or additionally, the second pane 2 can be dark tinted (gray, brown, blue).
[0077] The first pane 1 has a recess 9 into which the structural unit 5 projects. The recess 9 extends continuously from the first main surface IV of the first pane 1 to the second main surface III of the first pane 1. To seal the recess 9, a cover 6 in the form of an aluminum foil or disc is attached using an adhesive tape over the recess on the second main surface III of the first pane 1 (in the installed position of the composite pane). In addition to improving long-term stability by protecting against, for example, moisture diffusion, the cover 6, due to its good reflective properties, directs light from a light source 5.1 back into the first pane 1, thus increasing the total amount of coupled-in light.
[0078] The assembly 5 comprises the light sources 5.1 and a light guide 5.2. The assembly 5 can be a so-called LED module. The intermediate layer 3 has not been removed in the area of the recess 9. The light source 5.1 is located entirely within the composite pane 101. The light source 5.1 is preferably an LED. The light source 5.1 can comprise one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs, LED lamps). A light source 5.1 can also comprise an organic light-emitting diode (OLED).
[0079] The light emitted by light source 5.1 is directed toward pane 1 and reaches the first pane 1 via light guide 5.2. The light emitted by light source 5.1 is coupled into the first pane 1 and propagates within the first pane 1. The pane 1 is designed to transmit the coupled light longitudinally through the pane 1.
[0080] The first pane 1 preferably represents an inner pane and the second pane 2 an outer pane. The inner pane faces an interior space in the installed position. The outer pane faces the exterior environment (e.g., a vehicle) in the installed position. This arrangement is particularly advantageous due to the position of the light sources 5.1 in the first pane 1, as the light is coupled out toward the interior of the vehicle, creating a pleasant atmosphere in the interior. Alternatively, the second pane 2 can also represent the inner pane and the first pane 1 the outer pane.
[0081] A first cover layer 4 and a second cover layer 4 are applied to the first main surface IV of the first pane 1 and to the second main surface II of the second pane 2. The cover layers 4 are opaque and dark, particularly black or gray. The cover layer 4 is formed from a printing ink. Since light extraction at the edges of the composite pane 101 is undesirable, the edge region 16 of the first pane 1 has the cover layer 4.
[0082] Additionally, the second opaque, dark, in particular black or gray, cover layer 4 is arranged on the second main surface II of the second pane 2. In particular, the first cover layer 4 and the second cover layer 4 overlap in the viewing direction of the composite pane 101. The recess 9 is covered in the viewing direction by the second cover layer 4. The first and second cover layers 4 are a peripheral, i.e., frame-like, cover print. The cover layers 4 can be opaque, opaque, and / or full-surface.
[0083] The first cover layer 4 and the second cover layer 4 contain pigments and glass frits. They may contain other chemical compounds. The glass frits can be melted or fused, thereby permanently bonding (melting or sintering) the cover layer 4 to the glass surface. The pigment provides the opacity of the cover layer 4. Such cover layers are applied as enamel. Alternatively, the first cover layer 4 and / or the second cover layer 4 can be formed as an adhesive tape, paint layer, or primer. [0084] Figure 3 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the glazing arrangement 10 according to the invention. The glazing arrangement 10 shown in Figure 3 is particularly suitable as a roof window of a motor vehicle. The glazing arrangement 10 from Figure 3 has a similar structure to the glazing arrangement 10 from Figure 2. The second pane 6 (outer pane) is identical to the pane 6 from Figure 2. In contrast to Figure 2, the recess 9 has a filler material 7. The filler material 7 serves to embed the light guide 5.2 with the light source 5.1 in the recess 9. This improves the coupling of the light emitted from the light source 5.1 into the first pane 1. The glazing arrangement 10 thus achieves high efficiency and increased reliability because the resulting light emerging from the light guide 5.2 enters the first pane 1 in a targeted manner.
[0085] The filler material 7 is formed from a deformable material. The filler material 7 is transparent. The transparent filler material 7 fills the recess in a form-fitting manner. The filler material 7 can comprise, for example, silicone or resin, in particular synthetic resin. Additionally, the filler material 7 is arranged around the recess 9 on the first main surface IV of the first pane 1. For example, the filler material can protrude by approximately 10 mm or 15 mm.
[0086] The filler material 7 has a refractive index of 1.50. The refractive index of the filler material is equal to the refractive index of the first pane 1. The refractive index of the filler material 7 is selected such that total reflection at the interfaces between the light guide 5.2 and the first pane 1 is avoided.
[0087] Figure 4 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of a further embodiment of the glazing arrangement 10 according to the invention. The glazing arrangement 10 shown in Figure 4 is particularly suitable as a roof window of a motor vehicle. The glazing arrangement 10 from Figure 4 has a similar structure to the glazing arrangement 10 from Figure 3. In contrast to Figure 3, the composite pane 101 comprises a shielding element 8. The shielding element 8 is arranged on the reflective cover 6. When the glazing arrangement 10 is installed as a roof window of a vehicle, the shielding element 8 is arranged above the cover 6. The shielding element 8 protrudes around the recess 9 by the distance shown of 3 mm.
[0088] The shielding element 8 is designed as a black PVB film that is inserted between two 0.38 mm thick PVB sub-layers 3.1 and 3.2 of the thermoplastic intermediate layer 3. The shielding element 8 is made of the same material as the thermoplastic intermediate layer 3. This prevents material incompatibilities and possible dimensional changes of the inserted film and intermediate layer after lamination. Thanks to the shielding element 8 arranged according to the invention, the occurrence of a light shimmer in the area of the light source 5.1 is also prevented in this case. The cover 6 is arranged below the shielding element 8 and attached directly to the second main surface III of the first pane 1.
[0089] Figure 5 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of a further embodiment of the glazing assembly 10 according to the invention. The glazing assembly 10 shown in Figure 5 is particularly suitable as a roof window of a motor vehicle. The glazing assembly 10 of Figure 5 has a similar structure to the glazing assembly 10 of Figure 4.
[0090] The shielding element 8 is designed as a black PVB film inserted into the 0.76 mm thick intermediate layer 3. The shielding element 8 is made of the same material as the thermoplastic intermediate layer 3. This prevents material incompatibilities and possible dimensional changes between the inserted film and the intermediate layer after lamination. Thanks to the shielding element 8 arranged according to the invention, the occurrence of a light shimmer in the area of the light source 5.1 is also prevented in this case. The cover 6 is arranged below the shielding element 8 and attached directly to the second main surface III of the first pane 1.
