Description

[0001] The present invention relates to an awning suitable for realizing a covering of areas of land in outdoor environments.

[0002] Therefore, the present invention is included in the field of furnishing environments such as, for example, homes, buildings, parks, and the like. Typically, an awning is constrained or constrainable to a wall, for example to a wall of a building, by one or more connecting brackets.

[0003] Awnings of known type generally comprise a crosspiece that supports a pair of arms opposite each other, arranged transversely with respect to the crosspiece and configured to support a sheet interposed between them.

[0004] In order to allow a user to arbitrarily cover or uncover an area of land adjacent to the wall to which the awning is constrained, it is known to provide the latter with a roller and a sheet that can be wound around and unwound from the roller. The arms are in this case extendable, to extend the sheet, and foldable, to wind the sheet around the roller. The awnings of this type comprise a motorized member active on the arms and / or on the roller to wind and unwind the sheet.

[0005] Nowadays it is known to provide an awning with an outer casing, suitable for housing the motorized member, the crosspiece, the roller and the arms when folded.

[0006] However, this solution has the drawback of being expensive, complex to install, cumbersome, and difficult to adapt to restricted environments, such as for example small-sized balconies.

[0007] In this context, the technical task underlying the present invention is to propose an awning which overcomes at least some of the drawbacks in the prior art as mentioned above.

[0008] In particular, aim of the present invention is to propose a versatile and functional awning, adaptable to restricted environments and pleasing to the eye.

[0009] The technical task set and the objects specified are substantially achieved by a cover device for realizing a covering of areas of land comprising the technical features as set out in one or more of the accompanying claims. In particular, in accordance with one aspect of the present invention the awning comprises at least one crosspiece and at least one band extending alongside and parallel to the crosspiece.

[0010] The awning also comprises at least one bracket, constrained or constrainable to a wall, suitable for supporting the crosspiece, which is in turn configured to support a roller for the sheet, arms suitable for supporting the sheet, and the band.

[0011] The bracket comprises a support portion, to support the crosspiece, and a housing seat, next to the support portion and suitable for receiving the band. Advantageously, the bracket thanks to the housing seat and the support portion allows easy mounting of the awning.

[0012] Advantageously, moreover, the roller and the band define a lateral covering (that is, extending along a direction of maximum extension) of the crosspiece, making the awning subject-matter of the present invention slender and versatile, as well as adaptable to restricted environments. Further features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the indicative, and therefore non-limiting, description of preferred but non-exclusive embodiments of an awning.

[0013] Such description will be set forth herein below with reference to the accompanying drawings, provided for merely indicative and therefore non-limiting purpose, wherein: figure 1 shows a perspective and schematic view of the awning subject-matter of the present invention in an extended configuration; figure 2 shows a detail of the awning of figure 1; figure 3 shows the awning of figure 1 at the back and in a retracted configuration; figure 4 shows a detail of figure 3; figure 5 shows a component of the awning of figures 1-4.

[0014] Within the scope of the present description, the awning subject-matter of the present invention has been indicated with the reference numeral 100 and will hereinafter be referred to as "awning 100".

[0015] The awning 100 is suitable to be constrained to a wall so as to cover an area of land adjacent to the wall and underlying the awning 100 itself. With reference to figure 1, the awning 100 comprises at least one crosspiece 1 extending along a respective longitudinal axis "X" and preferably defined by a metal profile.

[0016] In use, i.e. in a condition wherein the awning 100 is constrained to the wall, the crosspiece 1 is arranged along a horizontal direction.

[0017] Within the scope of the present description, "horizontal direction" means a transverse direction, in particular perpendicular, with respect to a direction along which the weight force acts.

[0018] The awning 100 also comprises at least one roller 2 extending parallel to the longitudinal axis "X", the roller 2 and the crosspiece 1 are mutually alongside.

[0019] The awning 100 comprises a cover sheet 3, extending as winding around the roller 2 between a first end portion 3a, constrained to the roller 2, and a second end portion 3b, movable with respect to the first end portion 3a. The roller 2 is therefore rotatable and suitable, by means of its rotation, to define a winding / unwinding of the sheet 3.

[0020] Therefore, the awning 100 is movable between an extended configuration (shown in figure 1), wherein the sheet 3 is unwound from the roller 2, and a retracted configuration (shown in figure 3), wherein the sheet 3 is wound around the roller 2.

[0021] In detail, the roller 2 is supported by the crosspiece 1.

[0022] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, and with reference to figure 2, the awning 100 comprises a pair of supports 8, each extending from a respective end of the crosspiece 1 along a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1, configured to support the roller 2 in free rotation.

[0023] Thus, each support 8 comprises an insertion seat intended to receive a respective end of the roller 2, which is free to move in rotation within the respective insertion seat.

[0024] The supports 8 can be welded to the crosspiece 1 so as to define, with the crosspiece 1 itself, a single monolithic body, alternatively, the supports 8 have a retaining seat "S" suitable for defining a head coupling with a respective end of the crosspiece 1.

[0025] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the awning 100 is provided with a motion unit 4, configured to support the second end portion 3b of the sheet 3 and to perform a handling of the sheet 3 for winding around, and unwinding from, the roller 2.

[0026] In particular, the motion unit 4, as clearly visible in figure 1, is provided with a pair of arms 40 arranged in sequence along the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1. In other words, the arms 40 are opposite and arranged along the crosspiece 1, preferably each proximally to, or at, an end portion of the crosspiece 1.

[0027] Each arm 40 extends between a fastening end 40a constrained to the crosspiece 1, for example by means of a special connecting element, and a handling end 40b constrained to the second end portion 3b of the sheet 3. Therefore, the arms 40 are arranged transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1.

[0028] The handling end 40b is movable closer to / away from the fastening end 40a and along a direction transversal "Y" to the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1.

[0029] Therefore, the handling end 40b is suitable for guiding a winding / unwinding of the sheet 3 on / from the roller 2 so as to define the extended configuration of the awning 100, wherein the sheet 3 is unwound from the roller 2, and the retracted configuration of the awning 100, wherein the sheet 3 is wound around the roller 2.

[0030] In detail, in order to handle the awning 100 between the aforementioned extended and retracted configurations, each arm 40 is movable between an open configuration, wherein the handling end 40b is moved away from the fastening end 40a so as to unwind the sheet 3 from the roller 2, and a closed configuration, wherein the handling end 40b is moved closer to the fastening end 40a so as to wind the sheet 3 around the roller 2.

[0031] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the awning 100 comprises a motorized member suitable for moving the arms 40 between the open configuration and the closed configuration.

[0032] In accordance with one embodiment illustrated in the accompanying figures, and with particular reference to figure 1, each arm 40 comprises a pair of segments 400 hinged to each other at respective hinge ends and movable around respective hinge ends to define a folding of the corresponding arm 40 onto itself, and away from each other, to define an extension of the corresponding arm 40. In particular, the segments 400 are movable along a plane parallel to the transverse direction "Y" and passing through the roller 2.

[0033] Preferably, the awning 100 comprises an end crosspiece 10, connected to the arms 40 at the respective handling ends 40b and configured to support the second end portion 3b of the sheet 3.

[0034] Advantageously, the end crosspiece 10 strongly limits a downward bending of the sheet 3, i.e. towards an area underlying the sheet 3 itself when the arms 40 are in the open configuration.

[0035] In accordance with a particular aspect of the invention, the awning 100 comprises at least one band 5, extending alongside the crosspiece 1 and parallel to its longitudinal axis "X", such that the crosspiece 1 is interposed between the band 5 and the roller 2.

[0036] Advantageously, the band 5 allows, in use, to realize a covering of a wall to which the awning 100 is constrained, giving the awning 100 a pleasant appearance.

[0037] Therefore, the band 5, in cooperation with the roller 2, is able to define a lateral covering of the crosspiece 1, that is, a covering extending around the crosspiece 1 itself and extending from one end of the crosspiece 1 to the other, while making the awning 100 slender and adaptable to restricted environments.

[0038] In particular, the band 5, with reference to figures 1-3, has a first face "F1" facing the crosspiece 1 and a second face "F2" opposite the first face "F1". The band 5 is also supported by the crosspiece 1.

[0039] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, with reference to figure 2, the awning 100 comprises a pair of cover elements 9 extending between a first end 9a associated with the roller 2, and a second end 9b, positioned distal from the roller 2 with respect to the crosspiece 1 and aligned to the band 5.

[0040] In more detail, each cover element 9 extends along a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1 and is arranged as a connection between one end of the roller 2 (at the first end 9a) and one end of the band 5 (at the second end 9b).

[0041] Each cover element 9 has a curved portion suitable for defining an alignment of the second end 9b to the band 5, and therefore to a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis "X".

[0042] Each cover element 9 is associated with the band 5 at one end thereof, in particular, the second end 9b of the cover elements 9 is connected to the band 5.

[0043] The second end 9b may for example define an interlock with the corresponding end of the band 5, or it may be welded with a corresponding end of the band 5.

[0044] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, each cover element 9 is associated with a respective support 8, to occlude the support 8 itself from view.

[0045] Therefore, the cover elements 9 are arranged externally with respect to the crosspiece 1, the roller 2 and with respect to the supports 8.

[0046] "Externally" means a peripheral position positioned distal with respect to the support 8 with reference to a centreline of the crosspiece 1.

[0047] Preferably, the cover elements 9 and the supports 8 are welded together.

[0048] Advantageously, the welding between the cover elements 9 and the supports 8 allows to support the band 5 and the roller 2 by means of a single pair of elements that define the connection of the crosspiece 1 with both elements (band 5 and roller 2).

[0049] Preferably, the cover elements 9 define, with the band 5, a "C" seat in use facing away from the wall to which the awning 100 is constrained. The crosspiece 1, the roller 2 and the arms 40 are inserted within the aforementioned "C" seat when folded (in closed configuration). Advantageously, the cover elements 9 are able to define an improved covering of the crosspiece 1, defining with the band 5 and with the roller 2 an annular profile extending between the ends of the crosspiece 1 so as to enclose the crosspiece 1 itself, realizing a lateral covering and making the awning 100 slender and adaptable to restricted environments.

[0050] "Lateral covering" means a covering realized around a vertical direction, that is, around a direction towards which the weight force is oriented.

[0051] In accordance with a particular aspect of the invention, the awning 100 comprises at least one bracket 6, shown in the accompanying figures. The bracket 6 is configured to support the crosspiece 1 and is provided with a fastening portion 60, constrained or constrainable to a wall by means of a respective contact surface 60a with the wall shown in figures 4 and 5. Advantageously, the bracket 6, thanks to the contact surface 60a, allows to support the crosspiece 1 by constraining it to a wall; in this way the bracket 6, in cooperation with the crosspiece 1, is able to support the entire awning 100 (the roller 2, the arms 40 and the band 5 are actually supported by the crosspiece 1).

[0052] In detail, the contact surface 60a is placed at a distance from the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1 greater than or equal to the second face of the band "F2".

[0053] Therefore, in one embodiment (not illustrated in the accompanying figures) the contact surface 60a is arranged flush with respect to the second face "F2" of the band 5, while in the embodiment illustrated in the accompanying figures the contact surface 60a is projecting, away from the crosspiece 1, with respect to the second face "F2" of the band 5.

[0054] In order to support the crosspiece 1, with reference to figure 5, the bracket 6 comprises a support portion 61 of the crosspiece 1, suitable for receiving and supporting the crosspiece 1.

[0055] The support portion 61 is provided with a first portion 61a, interposed between the crosspiece 1 and the band 5, and a second support portion 61b, extending along the transversal direction "Y" away from the fastening portion 60 to define a support surface for the crosspiece 1.

[0056] Preferably, the second support portion 61b is arranged perpendicularly to the first one 61a, defining with the latter an "L-shaped" profile suitable for receiving the crosspiece 1 restingly.

[0057] Preferably, the first portion 61a is defined by a spacer element, suitable for defining a predetermined spacing, more preferably equal to an extension of the spacer element itself, between the crosspiece 1 and the band 5.

[0058] Preferably, the second portion is defined by an appendage 61b, suitable for engaging with the crosspiece 1 so as to receive it restingly and support it. In other words, the appendage defines a rest surface for the crosspiece 1. In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the support portion 61 defines a housing 610 crossed by the crosspiece 1 parallel to its longitudinal axis "X". Thus, the housing 610 is defined by at least the first and second portions 61a and 61b of the support portion 61.

[0059] Preferably, the housing 610 is counter-shaped relative to a cross-section, orthogonal to the longitudinal axis "X", of the crosspiece 1.

[0060] The housing 610, defining an insertion and / or retention seat for the crosspiece 1, guarantees an easy mounting of the awning 100. An operator, in fact, in order to mount the awning 100, needs to constrain the bracket 6 to a wall and insert the crosspiece 1 into the housing 610, in particular resting on the second support portion 61b.

[0061] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the awning 100 comprises locking means 7 configured to constrain the crosspiece 1 to the support portion 61.

[0062] Preferably, the locking means 7 are configured to constrain the crosspiece 1 to the second support portion 61b.

[0063] With reference to figure 5, the bracket 6 preferably comprises a mounting opening 64 and at least one connecting hole 63 arranged as a connection between the mounting opening 64 and the housing 610, while the locking means 7 comprise a locking pin 7a inserted or insertable into the connecting hole 63 so as to protrude within the housing 610 to constrain the crosspiece 1.

[0064] The pin 7a is therefore suitable to be inserted within the second portion 61b of the support portion 61, for example by means of threaded coupling, to constrain a sliding of the crosspiece 1 along the second portion 61b itself and away from the first portion 61a.

[0065] With reference to figure 5, the locking means 7 may further comprise a cover element 7b adapted to occlude a peripheral portion of the housing 610. In other words, the first portion 61a and the second portion 61b of the support portion (61) define a concave portion of the bracket 6, in particular of a perimeter edge thereof, defining the housing 610, and the cover element 7b is suitable for defining a peripheral occlusion of the housing 610.

[0066] Therefore, the cover element 7b is suitable to define a closure of the housing 610 so as to constrain a sliding of the crosspiece 1 along the second portion 61b and away from the first portion 61a.

[0067] The cover element 7b can be constrained to the bracket 6, preferably to the second support portion 61b, by means of threaded coupling.

[0068] In accordance with one embodiment illustrated in the accompanying figures, the locking means 7 comprise both the pin 7a and the cover element 7b. Preferably, the locking pin 7a is configured to engage with the cover element 7b so as to constrain the cover element 7b to the bracket 6.

[0069] With reference to figure 5, the bracket 6 further comprises a housing seat 62, shaped to at least partially receive the band 5 and defined between the fastening portion 60 and the support portion 61.

[0070] In other words, a perimeter edge of the bracket 6 has a concavity, defining the housing seat 62, shaped to accommodate at least part of the band 5, receiving restingly at least the first face "F1" (facing the crosspiece 1) of the band 5.

[0071] With reference to figures 4 and 5, the bracket 6 preferably comprises at least one groove "G", interposed between the fastening portion 60 and the first portion 61a of the support portion 61, defining the housing seat 62.

[0072] Preferably, the groove "G" is shaped to receive restingly both the first and second faces "F1", "F2" of the band 5.

[0073] In more detail, the groove "G" is transversely (with respect to the longitudinal axis "X") delimited by a first wall "P1" and a second wall "P2" parallel to each other and defined by the first portion 61a of the support portion 61 and the fastening portion 60, respectively.

[0074] In other words, the bracket 6 has a recess (defined by the fastening portion 60 and the first portion 61a) suitable for receiving the band 5.

[0075] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, the band 5 is inserted passing through the groove "G" parallel to the longitudinal axis "X".

[0076] Preferably, the groove "G" is counter-shaped relative to a cross-section, orthogonal to the longitudinal direction "X", of the band 5 to receive the band 5.

[0077] Preferably, the groove "G" has a "C" shape facing, in use, an area of land underlying the awning 100. Therefore, the groove "G" has its opening facing in use (when the bracket 6 is constrained to a wall) downwards, i.e. along the same direction as the weight force.

[0078] In more detail, the aforementioned "C" shape of the groove "G" is defined by the aforementioned first and second walls "P1" and "P2" and by a third abutting wall "P3", arranged between the first and second walls "P1" and "P2" so as to abut with an upper longitudinal edge "B" of the band 5.

[0079] "Upper" means an opposite arrangement with respect to an area of land underlying the awning 100.

[0080] Preferably, a longitudinal portion of the band 5, facing, in use, an area of land underlying the awning 100, i.e. arranged below, is projecting from the groove "G".

[0081] More preferably, the first face "F1" of the band 5 is arranged adjacent to the first portion 61a of the support portion 61 and the second face "F2" is arranged adjacent to the fastening portion 60.

[0082] Advantageously, the groove "G", as well as the arrangement of the contact surface 60a, allows an operator to unequivocally recognise an orientation to be imposed on the bracket 6 in a step of constraint of the same to a wall. Therefore, the bracket 6 ensures easy mounting of the awning 100.

[0083] Preferably, the band 5 is supported only by the crosspiece 1, in particular thanks to the cover elements 9, while the groove "G" is suitable for receiving the band 5, preferably by means of coupling with play.

[0084] Advantageously, the bracket 6 thanks to the fastening 60 and support 61 portions, and thanks to the housing seat 62, allows an easy mounting of the awning 100, actually requiring an insertion of the crosspiece 1 into the support portion 61, of the band 5 into the housing seat 62 and a connection of the bracket 6 itself to a wall, in particular at the contact surface 60a.

[0085] In accordance with one embodiment, the bracket 6 comprises a further upper contact surface 60'a arranged transversely, and preferably perpendicularly, with respect to the contact surface 60a.

[0086] Advantageously, the contact surface 60'a allows to constrain the bracket 6 above a wall, for example a protruding portion of a building, such as a canopy or a ceiling, conferring improved stability to the awning 100 when in use, i.e. when constrained to a wall.

[0087] Preferably, the awning 100 comprises a plurality of brackets 6 side by side along the longitudinal axis "X" of the crosspiece 1 to support the crosspiece 1 along its subsequent portions.

[0088] Advantageously, the plurality of brackets 6 confers an improved stability to the awning 100 when in use, i.e. when constrained to a wall.

[0089] The present invention achieves the proposed aim, overcoming the drawbacks reported in the prior art.

[0090] The awning 100 is easy to mount and inexpensive thanks to the bracket 6, which, by means of the portion for fastening 60 to a wall, the support portion 61 for the crosspiece 1, and the housing seat 62 for the band 5, allows an operator to easily mount it as it actually requires, in addition to a constraint of the bracket 6 to a wall, an insertion of the crosspiece 1 and the band 5 into the respective seat 61, 62.

[0091] The awning 100 is also slender and suitable even for small spaces, while maintaining a pleasant aesthetic appearance.
