Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a paint roller handle, comprising a handle in which a receptacle is formed and a multiply angled handle having an end portion that is inserted into the receptacle.
[0002] Such paint roller handles, together with a paint roller attached to the handle, form a painting tool. The handle of the paint roller handle is usually made of plastic, while the handle connected to the handle is usually made of metal. By replacing the paint roller, a paint roller handle can be used multiple times. However, after a certain period of use, paint roller handles are discarded, especially if the handle and / or the paint roller handle are dirty with paint. Used paint roller handles of this type are usually disposed of with general waste.
[0003] In the interest of resource conservation and sustainability, the sustainable use of used paint roller handles would be desirable.
[0004] The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a paint roller bracket that enables more sustainable use.
[0005] To solve this problem, a paint roller bracket with the features of claim 1 is provided.
[0006] In the paint roller handle according to the invention, it is provided that the handle has a holder into which a section of the handle that is angled relative to the end section is releasably inserted.
[0007] The invention is based on the discovery that the handle and the bracket can be separated from each other at the end of their normal service life. Separation is made possible by the fact that the end section of the bracket is detachably inserted into the handle holder. Since the bracket and the handle are made of different materials, namely a metal alloy on the one hand and plastic on the other, both components can be recycled separately after separation and reused. The invention thus avoids unnecessary waste and conserves valuable resources. The bracket, which is detachably inserted into the holder, can be easily removed manually by the user without the need for any tools.
[0008] Within the scope of the invention, it is preferred that the holder be designed as a tubular segment having two opposing and spaced-apart projections, between which a free space is formed for inserting and removing the bracket. The holder prevents unwanted rotation of the end section of the bracket about its longitudinal axis. The bracket is thus held in two places. On the one hand, the end section of the bracket is inserted into the receptacle; on the other hand, the angled section of the bracket is held by the holder. The holder is a tubular segment having an opening that allows insertion and removal of the angled section of the bracket.
[0009] Preferably, the projections of the holder surround the angled section of the bracket in a form-fitting and / or friction-fitting manner. The two projections exhibit a certain degree of elasticity. When inserting the bracket, the projections are pushed apart at least slightly. When mounted, they exert at least a slight holding force on the bracket. This friction-fitting and form-fitting mounting prevents the bracket from wobbling, vibrating, or rattling. Furthermore, rotation of the end section of the bracket in the holder is prevented. The holder, together with the holder integrated into the handle, serves to secure the bracket in two places.
[0010] After use, the handle can be separated from the holder and pulled out of the receptacle by pulling the handle lengthwise. This separation of the two recyclable materials, plastic and metal, can be performed by the user. The handle, holder, and receptacle are designed to work together so that the handle remains firmly connected to the handle during normal use. A certain amount of pulling force is required to separate the two parts, which can be applied manually by the user. This makes detaching the handle from the handle easy.
[0011] With regard to the receptacle arranged in the handle, it is preferred that it be tubular and surround the bracket in a form-fitting manner. The end section of the bracket can then be held in the receptacle in a form-fitting and / or force-fitting manner.
[0012] An alternative embodiment provides for the receptacle to comprise several separate clamping sections that surround the bracket in the circumferential direction. The inner diameter of the clamping sections and the outer diameter of the bracket are selected such that the clamping sections are pressed outward and elastically deformed upon insertion into the receptacle. The elastic clamping sections ensure a positive and / or non-positive mounting and connection between the end section of the bracket and the receptacle. In particular, this prevents the bracket from wobbling or rattling in the receptacle.
[0013] In this context, it can be provided that a clamping section has a radially outward-facing projection. Such a projection increases the rigidity of the clamping section in the radial direction. The projection can be designed as a rib.
[0014] Within the scope of the invention, it is preferred that the holder and preferably also the handle are made of a plastic material. The holder and handle can be manufactured as a single piece using an injection molding process. The handle can be single-colored or, for example, two-colored. It can also be made of two different plastics.
[0015] The bracket is preferably made of a metal alloy, in particular a steel alloy.
[0016] The invention also relates to a painting tool comprising a paint roller handle of the type described and a paint roller attached to the handle. The paint roller handle can be reused multiple times by replacing the paint roller. When no longer usable, the handle and handle can be easily separated for separate recycling.
[0017] The invention is explained below using exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. The drawings are schematic representations and show: Fig. 1 is a side view of a first embodiment of a paint roller bracket according to the invention; Fig. 2 is a view of the paint roller bracket rotated by 90° Fig. 1 ; Fig. 3 a top view of the handle of the paint roller handle; Fig. 4 a sectional view of the handle inserted in the holder; Fig. 5 a perspective view of the handle of the paint roller handle according to the invention; Fig. 6 a sectional view of the handle; Fig. 7 a view of the handle rotated by 90° Fig. 1 with inserted handle; Fig. 8 a perspective view of the handle of a paint roller handle according to the invention according to a second embodiment; Fig. 9 a top view of the handle of Fig. 8 ; Fig. 10 a sectional view of the Fig. 8 shown handle; and Fig. 11 a view of the handle rotated by 90° from Fig. 10 with inserted bracket.
[0018] The Fig. 1 bis 7 show a first embodiment of a paint roller bracket 1, wherein Fig. 1 a side view, Fig. 2 a view of the paint roller handle rotated by 90°, Fig. 3 a top view of the handle of the paint roller and Fig. 4 shows a sectional view of the bracket inserted into the holder. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the handle of the paint roller handle 1, Fig. 6 and Fig. 7 are sectional views of the handle, where Fig. 7 also shows the bracket.
[0019] The paint roller handle 1 comprises a handle 2 in which a tubular receptacle 3 is formed. The handle 2 is injection-molded from a plastic material. A multi-angled handle 4 is inserted into the receptacle 2 with its end section 5. A paint roller can be attached to the opposite outer end section 6 of the handle 4, thus forming a painting tool.
[0020] In Fig. 5 It can be seen that the handle 2 has a holder 7 protruding laterally on its upper side. The holder 7 is designed as a tubular segment having two opposing and spaced-apart projections 8, between which a free space 9 is formed so that the bracket 4 can be inserted into the holder 7. The free space 9 is designed as a longitudinally extending opening in the tubular segment. In the assembled state, the projections 8 bear against the bracket 4 in a form-fitting and force-fitting manner.
[0021] In Fig. 6 and 7 It is shown that the end section 5 of the bracket 4 is inserted into the receptacle. The tubular receptacle 3 surrounds the end section 5 of the bracket 4 in a form-fitting manner. Additionally, the bracket 4 is secured by the holder 7. In this assembled state, the bracket 4 is firmly connected to the handle 2.
[0022] In the top view of Fig. 4 It can be seen that a total of four projections extend outward from the receptacle 3 to the inner surfaces of the handle 2, which are designed as ribs 10. The ribs 10 support and reinforce the tubular receptacle 3.
[0023] By attaching a paint roller to the paint roller handle, a painting tool is created. When the paint roller handle is no longer needed, the end section 5 of the handle 4 can be pulled out of the receptacle 3 in the longitudinal direction of the handle 2, just as the adjacent angled section of the handle 4 can be pulled out of the holder 7. The opposing projections 8 are elastically deformed outward, allowing the handle 4 to be removed.
[0024] The Fig. 8 bis 11 show a second embodiment of a paint roller bracket, which is constructed similarly to the first embodiment. Therefore, identical components will not be explained in detail again here. Fig. 8 is a perspective view of the handle of the paint roller frame, Fig. 9 is a top view and Fig. 10 and Fig. 11 are cut side views, similar to Fig. 6 and Fig. 7 .
[0025] The paint roller handle 11 comprises a handle 12 with a tubular receptacle 13. Unlike the first embodiment, the receptacle 13 is formed from several clamping sections 14, each clamping section 14 extending approximately over a quarter of the circumference of the receptacle 13. On the side facing the center of the receptacle 13, each clamping section 14 is formed as a circular segment. A rib 15 extends radially outward to reinforce the clamping section 14.
[0026] When inserting the end section 5 of the bracket 4, the clamping sections 14 of the receptacle 13 are pressed at least slightly elastically outwards. In the assembled state, the clamping sections 14 exert a clamping force on the bracket. In addition, a section 16 of the bracket 4 that is angled relative to the end section 5 is held in the holder 7. By applying a tensile force acting in the longitudinal direction of the handle 12, the angled section 16 of the bracket 4 can be pulled out of the holder 7, and the end section 5 can be pulled out of the receptacle 13, in order to recycle the handle 12 and the paint roller bracket 11 separately.
