Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] Title: System for covering a luggage compartment of a motor vehicle

[0003] The invention relates to a system for covering a luggage compartment of a motor vehicle.

[0004] It is known to produce a system for covering a luggage compartment of a motor vehicle, said system comprising:

[0005] • a covering assembly for said compartment, said assembly comprising a shelf removable by vertical translation and an electrical device, said shelf comprising a power supply socket for said device arranged along one of its lateral edges, said socket being provided with a plurality of power supply terminals for said device,

[0006] • two side fittings of said compartment receiving said shelf, one of said fittings being provided with a reciprocal socket for receiving said socket, said reciprocal socket being provided with a plurality of reciprocal terminals for receiving each of said terminals, the connection of said terminals and reciprocal terminals being made by mounting said shelf on said fittings.

[0007] With such an arrangement, it may be difficult to ensure an efficient connection between the sockets, due to the transverse dispersions that may appear in the positioning of the tablet in relation to its nominal position.

[0008] The invention aims to overcome this drawback.

[0009] To this end, the invention proposes a system for covering a luggage compartment of a motor vehicle, said system comprising:

[0010] • a covering assembly for said compartment, said assembly comprising a shelf removable by vertical translation and an electrical device, said shelf comprising a power supply socket for said device arranged along one of its lateral edges, said socket being provided with a plurality of power supply terminals for said device,

[0011] • two side fittings of said compartment receiving said shelf, one of said fittings being provided with a reciprocal socket for receiving said socket, said reciprocal socket being provided with a plurality of reciprocal terminals for receiving each of said terminals, the connection of said terminals and reciprocal terminals being made by mounting said shelf on said fittings, said system furthermore having the following characteristics:

[0012] • a terminal - respectively or a reciprocal terminal - is in the form of a blade extending along a transverse vertical plane, a reciprocal terminal - respectively or a terminal - being in the form of a spring-loaded metal clip defining an opening opening vertically, said clip comprising two branches elastically biased towards each other, the end parts of said branches moving away from each other as one moves towards their free ends, so as to define a flared shape allowing the insertion of said terminal - respectively or said reciprocal terminal - to arrange it in a pinch between said branches,

[0013] • said sockets, once connected together, can slide with a minimum transverse clearance of 5 mm while remaining connected, so as to allow absorption of the transverse positioning tolerances of said tablet in relation to its nominal position while ensuring the power supply of said device.

[0014] In this description, the terms of positioning in space (top, longitudinal, transverse, lateral, front, rear, vertical, below, etc.) are taken in reference to the system arranged in the vehicle.

[0015] With the proposed arrangement, the tablet can have its transverse position offset from its nominal position, while maintaining the connection of the sockets between them, ensuring the power supply to the electrical device.

[0016] Other features and advantages of the invention will appear in the following description, given with reference to the attached figures, in which:

[0024] • a terminal 7, according to the embodiment shown, - respectively or a reciprocal terminal 10, according to an embodiment not shown - is in the form of a blade extending along a transverse vertical plane, a reciprocal terminal 10, according to the embodiment shown, - respectively or a terminal 7, according to an embodiment not shown - being in the form of a spring-loaded metal clip defining an opening 11 opening vertically (upwards according to the embodiment shown), said clip comprising two branches 12 elastically biased towards each other, the end parts 13 of said branches moving away from each other as one moves towards their free ends, so as to define a flared shape allowing the insertion of said terminal - respectively or said reciprocal terminal - to arrange it in a pinch between said branches,

[0025] • said sockets, once connected together, can slide with a minimum transverse clearance of 5 mm while remaining connected, so as to allow absorption of the transverse positioning tolerances of said tablet in relation to its nominal position while ensuring the power supply of said device.

[0026] According to the embodiment shown, the assembly 2 further comprises a flap 14 arranged behind the shelf 3, the front edge 15 of said flap being mounted to rotate along the rear edge 16 of said shelf, so as to allow access to the luggage compartment by rotating said flap upwards.
