Abstract
Description
[0001] Multi-purpose kitchen appliance with vacuum device, adapter unit and process
[0002] Field of the invention
[0003] The present invention relates to a multi-purpose kitchen appliance with a vacuuming device and a method.
[0004] State of the art
[0005] Multipurpose kitchen appliances are known. For example, the publications DE 10 2014 112 959 A1 and DE 10 2014 113 552 A1 disclose multipurpose kitchen appliances designed as combined cooking and mixing appliances.
[0006] Multipurpose kitchen appliances, for example, have a removable pot in which, for example, a stirrer for preparing food is located. The stirrer can be driven by an electric motor on the kitchen appliance, for which purpose the receiving area and the pot have corresponding coupling elements.
[0007] Furthermore, it is known to provide a heating device for the pot. For this purpose, the bottom of the pot, for example, has an electrically controlled heating element.
[0008] In addition, electrical measuring devices for measuring temperature, pressure or similar can also be provided on the pot.
[0009] Methods for operating kitchen appliances are also known from the prior art. For example, DE 10 2016 110 715 A1 discloses a method, in particular a method for operating a kitchen appliance, wherein, during a preparation operation, at least one processing device of the kitchen appliance is controlled for the at least partially automatic preparation of at least one food item. The method comprises the steps: - determining at least one control value by first detecting at least one control parameter during the preparation operation, wherein the control parameter is specific to the preparation,
[0010] - Determining at least one result value by a second recording of at least one result parameter, wherein the result parameter is specific to the result of the preparation,
[0011] Recording the trigger value and the result value in a preparation record so that it is assigned to the preparation as a recorded preparation.
[0012] Task and solution of the invention
[0013] The object of the present invention is to provide an alternative multi-purpose kitchen appliance. Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to provide an adapter unit for a pot lid. Finally, it is an object of the invention to provide a method for operating a multi-purpose kitchen appliance.
[0014] The objects are achieved by the features of independent claims 1, 17, and 19, respectively. Preferred embodiments emerge from the dependent claims.
[0015] According to a first aspect of the invention, a multi-purpose kitchen appliance is provided, in particular a food processor with a base unit and a preparation vessel connectable to the base unit, wherein the preparation vessel has at least one pot and a lid closing a pot opening of the pot. Furthermore, a vacuuming device is provided, which is integrated into the base unit or connected to the base unit. The vacuuming device has at least one evacuation unit and a connecting element, wherein a first opening is formed in the pot or in the lid, and the connecting element is configured to fluidically connect the evacuation unit to the opening for evacuating the pot. The connecting element can be designed, for example, as a vacuum hose.
[0016] The evacuation device is preferably suitable and intended for conveying a fluid, in particular a gas, and particularly preferably air, out of the pot. For this purpose, the evacuation device can be designed, for example, as a vacuum pump or another suitable compressor device. The evacuation device can also be provided separately. The evacuation device can be fluidically connected to the pot, for example, via the connecting element, in order to evacuate the pot or pump out a fluid located in the pot.
[0017] The fluidic connection to the pot can be established, for example, via a lid opening or via an opening in the side wall of the pot. Preferably, the first opening is formed by an opening in the lid.
[0018] The invention accordingly provides a multipurpose kitchen appliance equipped with a vacuum sealing device. This allows the pot to be subjected to a vacuum before food preparation. This reduces oxidation processes in the processed food, thus preventing or at least reducing damage to healthy enzymes and unwanted discoloration. This measure also enables vacuum cooking or sous-vide cooking of meat, fish, or vegetables at relatively low temperatures of below 100°C, thus ensuring gentle preparation. A plastic bag, which would otherwise be mandatory and wrap the food, is no longer required.
[0019] In particular, the multi-purpose kitchen appliance is provided with a heating element for heating the food in the pot, so that it is possible to cook, steam, simmer, etc. food under vacuum and using the heating element.
[0020] The multi-purpose kitchen appliance 1 can, in particular, have a sensing device, wherein the sensing device is provided to sense pressure data with respect to a location on the pot. The control unit can, in particular, be configured to operate the vacuuming device based on the pressure data. The control unit can, in particular, be configured to determine an initial pressure based on the pressure data; and to operate the vacuuming device to set the pressure to a target value. In one embodiment of the invention, the perforation is formed by an opening in the lid, and an adapter unit is inserted into the opening in the lid, wherein the adapter unit is configured to be connected to the connecting element.
[0021] The adapter unit can, for example, be a plug that can be connected to the connecting element on the one hand and placed on the adapter on the other.
[0022] The adapter unit can in particular comprise: a base body, preferably of rotationally symmetrical design, which is inserted with a lower open end into the first opening formed by the lid opening of the lid; a first closing element which closes the base body at the upper axial end and on whose upper side a receiving section for receiving the connecting element is formed; wherein the first closing element has a second opening in the receiving section and an elastic element arranged in the second opening, which is designed to seal the second opening in at least a first state of use and to open the second opening in at least a second state of use.
[0023] It is preferred if the elastic element is a rubber seal designed as a one-way valve. The rubber seal can in particular be inserted into the second opening. If the rubber seal is enclosed, for example, by the connecting element and the rubber seal is subjected to a vacuum, the rubber seal opens the second opening so that the pot can be evacuated. If, for example, the evacuation is ended, the rubber seal closes and maintains the vacuum in the pot. To ventilate the pot, the user can apply force to the rubber seal, for example with a finger, i.e., press it downwards, to open the opening and create pressure equalization.
[0024] The adapter unit can in particular have a projection extending radially outwards on a circumferential section and arranged in the circumferential direction, which forms an axially downwardly directed contact surface which is designed to be brought into contact with a corresponding contact surface of the cover.
[0025] In particular, the receiving portion may have a projection extending axially upwards and circumferentially, which forms a radial boundary of the receiving portion.
[0026] It is advantageous if a first sealing means is arranged and configured to seal the adapter unit with respect to the first opening in the cover. This can, for example, be a rubberized sheath arranged circumferentially below the projection, which can preferably be brought into contact with an axially downwardly extending portion of the cover.
[0027] In a further embodiment of the invention, the adapter unit further comprises a connecting part. The connecting part is in particular rotationally symmetrical and has an upper second end element with a third opening, wherein the third opening can be connected to the connecting element via a connecting piece. A connecting part that is connectable or connected to the connecting element facilitates the connection of the connecting element to the first opening, in particular to the opening of the cover. The connecting part can be designed, for example, as a plug. In one embodiment, the connecting part can be formed integrally with the connecting element. In an alternative embodiment, the connecting element and connecting part can be formed as separate components, in particular in two parts.
[0028] It is preferred if the connecting part has a second sealing means that can be brought into contact with the receiving section and encloses the elastic element in the circumferential direction. When the connecting part is placed on the receiving section, it encloses the elastic element and, during an evacuation, fluidically connects the second opening to a suction opening of the connecting element. In other words, during operation of the evacuation unit, the connecting part is pressed tightly onto the top side of the adapter unit, and the elastic element releases the second opening. After the evacuation is complete, the connecting part can be removed, while the elastic element of the adapter unit maintains the vacuum in the pot.
[0029] This advantageously provides a connecting part that does not require a mechanical locking mechanism for evacuation. The sealed connection between the adapter unit and the connecting part is achieved by means of negative pressure. This also allows the connecting element to be used quickly.
[0030] In one embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the lid closes the pot and the connecting part connected to the connecting element is inserted into the receiving section in such a way that the second sealing means contacts the upper side of the first closing element, so that during the evacuation of the pot by means of the evacuation unit, the sealing means of the connecting part is sucked or pressed into the receiving section, whereby the connecting part closes tightly; and the elastic element opens the opening so that a flow channel is formed which fluidically connects the space of the pot with the connecting element so that a fluid located in the pot can be pumped out, and that upon completion of the evacuation, the elastic element seals the second opening in order to maintain the vacuum in the pot and releases the connecting part for removal from the receiving section.
[0031] According to a second aspect of the invention, an adapter unit for a lid of a multi-purpose kitchen appliance is provided, the adapter unit comprising: a base body, which is in particular rotationally symmetrical and which can be inserted with a lower open end into a first opening in a lid of a pot, a closing element which closes the base body at the upper axial end and on the upper side of which a receiving section for receiving a connecting element is formed, wherein the closing element has a second opening in the receiving section and an elastic element arranged in the second opening, which is designed to seal the opening in at least a first state of use and to open the opening in at least a second state of use.
[0032] The adapter unit according to the second aspect of the invention can be developed with the features of the adapter unit of the multi-purpose kitchen appliance according to the first aspect. To avoid repetition, reference is made to the above explanations.
[0033] According to a third aspect of the invention, a method is provided, namely a method for operating a multi-purpose kitchen appliance comprising a preparation vessel with a pot and a lid, a base unit and a vacuuming device arranged to evacuate the pot, the method comprising:
[0034] - Collecting pressure data related to a location in the pot,
[0035] - Operating the vacuuming device to evacuate a fluid from the pot depending on the pressure data in the pot.
[0036] The method is intended, in particular, for operating a food processor. Thus, a method is preferably provided for operating a food processor with a vacuuming device to enable the preparation of food under vacuum conditions. Pressure sensors, in particular, can be used to acquire pressure data.

[0048] The structure and operation of the multi-purpose kitchen appliance and the adapter unit are explained below with reference to the figures. The figures show preferred embodiments of the invention.
[0049] Fig. 1 shows an exemplary multipurpose kitchen appliance 1 in the form of an electric motor-driven food processor. The food processor 1 comprises the components: a preparation vessel 2, a base unit 3, a pot 4, and a lid 5 with an opening 9.
[0050] The food processor 1 further comprises a stirrer or blade for preparing food. The blade is connected to a drive unit via a coupling element. The food processor 1 can also be equipped with a heating element. Sensors can also be provided, each of which is arranged, for example, in different areas of the food processor 1, inside or outside the food processor 1, for detecting different variables.
[0051] In addition, the food processor 1 can comprise a control panel 30, which comprises, for example, a display, preferably a touchscreen. In particular, the control panel 30 serves as an input device. In this case, the display serves in particular both as an input and an output means. The control panel enables, in particular, a user of the food processor 1 to set preparation parameters and / or recipes and / or operating parameters, such as the stirring speed, the heating temperature and / or the duration of preparation or stirring and / or various programs of the
[0052] Food processor, can be set and / or activated and / or deactivated. Furthermore, recipe-related instructions and / or notes and / or graphical control elements can also be output via the display.
[0053] The food processor 1 has a switch 40, which is intended in particular for turning the food processor on and off. However, the switch 70 can also be used to confirm input commands or the like.
[0054] The food processor shown in Fig. 1 is provided according to the invention with a vacuuming device with which, on the one hand, the pot 5 can be evacuated in order to prepare food in an evacuated state and, on the other hand, to evacuate external containers, such as the container 50 shown, in order, for example, to make prepared food last longer.
[0055] A sensing device is arranged in the base unit 3 and configured to sense pressure data relative to a location on the pot 4 and to operate the vacuuming device 6 based on the pressure data. The control unit can, in particular, determine an output pressure based on the pressure data and operate the vacuuming device to set the pressure to a target value.
[0056] Pressure measurements can be processed into control-relevant data, preferably at different points at different times during the evacuation process. This allows precise statements about the current state of the system.
[0057] Preferably, a selection can be made from a plurality of vacuum levels. The vacuum level is to be understood as a measure of the negative pressure. It has proven advantageous if three or four different vacuum levels can be selected. For example, in one embodiment, the following vacuum modes can be selected: 0 bar, 0.3 bar, and 0.7 bar. In another embodiment, the following vacuum modes can be selected: 0 bar, 0.25 bar, 0.5 bar, and 0.75 bar.
[0058] The vacuuming device 6 can be operated via the control panel 30, which comprises, for example, a display, preferably a touchscreen. In particular, the control panel allows a user to set a specific vacuum level.
[0059] Providing different vacuum levels has the advantage of being able to respond flexibly to different preparation requirements, depending on the food or the preparation method. It is conceivable that an absolute vacuum may not be desirable for every food and every cooking temperature.
[0060] The vacuuming device 6 is integrated into the base unit 3 and has at least one evacuation unit 7 in the form of a vacuum pump and a connecting element 20. The connecting element is preferably a vacuum hose 8. The vacuum hose 8 is connected on the device side to a connector 81, which in turn fluidly connects the end of the vacuum hose 8 connected to it to the vacuum pump. The other end of the vacuum hose 8 is provided with a connecting part 20, which is placed in a receiving area of a vessel 50. The receiving area of the vessel 50 has an opening in which a rubber element is inserted, which functions as a one-way valve. In this way, the fluid, in particular air, can be sucked out of the vessel 50, while at the same time the one-way valve maintains the vacuum in the vessel.
[0061] Further details on the vessel and vessel lid can be found in Figs. 7 and 8.
[0062] Fig. 2 shows how the vacuum hose 8 fluidically connects the vacuum pump to the opening 9 of the cover 5. Detailed view A shows an enlarged section of the connection between the cover 5, adapter unit 10, and connecting part 20.
[0063] For a better connection of the vacuum hose 8, an adapter unit 10 is provided, which is inserted into the opening 9 of the cover 5.
[0064] The adapter unit comprises a rotationally symmetrical base body 11, which is inserted into the opening 9 with a lower open end 12. Furthermore, the adapter unit comprises a closing element 13, which closes the base body 11 at the upper axial end and on the upper side of which a receiving section 14 for receiving a
[0065] vacuum hose 8 is formed.
[0066] The closing element 13 has a second opening 15 in the receiving section 14 and an elastic element 16 arranged in the second opening 15, which is designed to seal the opening 15 in at least a first state of use and to open the opening 15 in at least a second state of use.
[0067] The elastic element 16 is a rubber seal inserted into the hole-shaped opening and designed as a one-way valve. When a vacuum is applied, the rubber seal 16 releases the opening 15, allowing the air to be evacuated. Once the evacuation is complete, the vacuum is maintained in the pot. By manually pressing the center of the rubber seal 16, the opening 15 is opened, allowing pressure equalization to occur.
[0068] The adapter unit 10 further comprises a projection 17 extending radially outward on a circumferential portion and arranged in the circumferential direction, forming an axially downwardly directed contact surface that is designed to engage with a corresponding contact surface of the lid 5. This prevents the adapter unit 10 from falling into the pot.
[0069] The receiving portion 14 has a projection extending axially upward and circumferentially, forming a radial boundary of the receiving portion 14. Furthermore, a rubber sheath 18 is arranged and designed to seal the adapter unit 10 with respect to the first opening 9 of the cover. This rubber sheath rests against an insertion portion of the cover 5.
[0070] For better coupling of the other end of the vacuum hose to the adapter unit 10, the other end of the vacuum hose is connected to a connecting part 20 that can be inserted into the adapter unit 10. The connecting part 20 is designed to be rotationally symmetrical 21 corresponding to the adapter unit 10 and has an upper second closure element 22 with a third opening 23, wherein the third opening 23 is fluidically connected to the vacuum hose 8 via a tubular connector 24. The opening 23 has a funnel-shaped profile in cross-section and essentially forms the suction opening of the vacuum hose 8.
[0071] The connecting part 20 has a sealing means 25 that is in contact with the receiving portion 14 and circumferentially surrounds the elastic element 16. The sealing means is preferably rubber-like and is arranged at at least one axial end of the connecting part 20 so that it comes into contact with the top side of the adapter unit and surrounds the elastic element 16.
[0072] How it works:
[0073] The pot is inserted into the receiving area of the base unit and closed with the lid, which is preferably locked by a locking device. The lid 5 seals the pot 4 with a circumferential seal 35.
[0074] The adapter unit 10 is inserted into the opening 9 of the cover 5. The connecting part 20, in turn, is inserted or placed into the receiving section of the adapter unit.
[0075] When the vacuum pump is switched on, the rubber-coated section 25 is pressed firmly into the removal section by means of the resulting negative pressure, so that the connecting part 20 sits tightly on the end element 13 of the adapter unit 10.
[0076] The negative pressure causes the elastic element 16 to open the opening 15, forming a flow channel that fluidically connects the space of the pot 4 with the vacuum hose 8, allowing a fluid, particularly air, located in the pot 4 to be pumped out. Upon completion of the evacuation, the elastic element 16 keeps the second opening 15 sealed to maintain the vacuum in the pot 4. After the evacuation is complete, the connecting part 20 is released and can be removed.
[0077] The food processor 1 can now be operated to prepare food under vacuum or at a vacuum level. After preparing the food, the pressure can be equalized by pressing the elastic element, thus ventilating the pot.
[0078] The adapter unit described in Fig. 2 can also be used for vessel 50. The method of evacuating the fluid is the same.
[0079] Fig. 3 shows the food processor 1 of Fig. 1 in a cross-section and further views. In particular, it shows how the vacuuming device 6 and the evacuation unit 7 are integrated into the base unit.
[0080] The detailed view B shows an enlarged section of the connection of the vessel lid 60, the adapter unit for the vessel lid and the connecting part 20. The adapter unit 10 can be integrated into the vessel lid and have the same features as the previously described adapter unit 10, so that reference can be made to the embodiment in Fig. 2.
[0081] The detailed view C shows an enlarged section of a sealing area between vessel 50 and vessel lid 60. The vessel lid 60 is sealed with respect to the vessel 50 by a circumferential sealing ring which is guided in a circumferential groove in a lid section.
[0082] Fig. 4 shows further views of the lid 5. On the underside of a lid handle, a collar-shaped detent is provided, which corresponds, for example, to a locking device integrated in the handle.
[0083] Fig. 5 shows the adapter unit 10 from Fig. 2 in a section and in further views.
[0084] Furthermore, particular reference can be made to the explanations in Fig. 2. Fig. 6 shows the connecting part from Figs. 1, 2 and 3 in a section and further views. The conically tapered section 26 is particularly clearly visible. The conically tapered section 26 facilitates insertion into the adapter unit 10 and enlarges the adjacent outer surface in order to increase the sealing effect. The connecting part 20 is preferably designed as a plug whose outer surface is rubberized, preferably inside and out. Furthermore, particular reference can be made to the explanations in Fig. 2.
[0085] Figs. 7 and 8 show further views of the vessel 50 and the vessel lid 60. Also shown in Fig. 7 is an elastic element 62, which has the same function as the elastic element 16. For further details, reference can be made to the explanations in Figs. 1 and 3.
[0086] Fig. 13 schematically shows a method 100 for operating the multi-purpose kitchen appliance 1 from Fig. 1. The method comprises the steps:
[0087] - Collecting 101 pressure data relating to a location in pot 4; and
[0088] - Operating 102 the vacuuming device for evacuating a fluid from the pot 4 depending on the pressure data in the pot 4.
[0089] Further embodiments of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art within the scope of the following claims and the accompanying drawings.
