Description

Technical area

[0001] The invention relates to a device for labeling containers. The invention further relates to a method for converting such a device. Technical background

[0002] In a container processing plant, a labeling device for labeling containers can be equipped with various setup components to adapt to different container formats. These setup components include, for example, turntables for rotating the containers during labeling.

[0003] Traditionally, changing turntables, for example, requires manual intervention by a user (e.g., operator or maintenance personnel). This may require opening a guard. The user can then take a certain number of turntables of a first type within their reach from an accessible area, usually between two labeling units, and place them, for example, on a trolley or in a box. The user can then insert turntables of a second type, which may also be stored on a trolley and must be pushed towards the machine, into the newly freed turntable receptacles of the labeling device. It may now be necessary to rotate the labeling device by a certain angle to allow the user access to the next turntables of the first type. This process is repeated until all turntables have been replaced.

[0004] A disadvantage of the current state of the art technology is that the manual changeover process can often be very time-consuming, depending on the variety of equipment and machine specifications. The manual changeover process may also require compromises in the safety concept during human-machine interaction and in terms of ergonomics, for example, with regard to the required further rotation of the labeling device in so-called jog mode.

[0005] The invention is based on the object of creating an improved technology for converting a labeling device, which preferably enables a quick, reliable and safe conversion. Summary of the invention

[0006] The problem is solved by the features of the independent claims. Advantageous further developments are specified in the dependent claims and the description.

[0007] One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a device for labeling containers (e.g., for a container processing plant). The device comprises a labeling device, preferably a rotary labeling device, for labeling the containers. The labeling device comprises a plurality of setup part receptacles, preferably turntable receptacles, for (e.g., releasably and / or lockably) receiving setup parts, preferably container turntables. The device further comprises a conversion system configured to convert the labeling device by exchanging the setup parts, preferably during a product and / or container format change. The conversion system comprises a magazine for storing the setup parts and a handling device with which the setup parts can be moved between the magazine and the plurality of setup part receptacles of the labeling device.

[0008] The device advantageously enables the change of setup parts to be made significantly more efficient, safer, and more ergonomic. The fast changeover time not only frees up more production time, but also frees up operator resources. Automatic changeover also allows for the parallelization of several steps, as certain safety measures can be eliminated because operator presence is not required. For example, other parts of the machine can be adjusted automatically at the same time, as there is no longer any risk of pinching or crushing for the previously required operator. Overall, the downtime of the labeling device and thus of the entire line can be reduced, increasing the effective line output per unit time.

[0009] In one embodiment, the magazine is a circulating magazine, preferably a single-track or multi-track magazine, preferably a drum magazine, a belt magazine, or a chain magazine. Alternatively, the magazine can be a stacking magazine, for example. Advantageously, these magazines can be particularly space-saving while also enabling rapid loading and unloading.

[0010] In a further embodiment, the setup parts comprise first setup parts for a first container format and second setup parts for a second container format. The magazine has several setup part receptacles, each designed to accommodate both the first setup parts and the second setup parts. Advantageously, a single magazine can thus be sufficient for converting between two types of setup parts. The magazine can be loaded either with the first setup parts or with the second setup parts instead of the first setup parts. This also advantageously enables a particularly space-saving solution.

[0011] The device can preferably comprise a control device configured to operate the changeover system in such a way that it fills vacant spaces (e.g., part receptacles) in the magazine during a changeover process with parts taken over by the labeling device during the changeover process. Advantageously, a single magazine can thus also be sufficient for changing between two types of parts, whereby the special operating mode allows the capacity of the magazine to be kept as low as possible. Advantageously, this also enables a particularly space-saving solution.

[0012] In a further embodiment, the handling device is designed to simultaneously move multiple setup parts between the magazine and the setup part receptacles of the labeling device. This advantageously enables a particularly fast changeover process.

[0013] Alternatively, it is also possible, for example, for the handling device to be designed to move a single setup part between the magazine and the setup part holders of the labeling device. This can advantageously simplify the design of the changeover system.

[0014] In a further embodiment, the handling device is a pick-and-place handling device. Alternatively, the handling device can be, for example, a preferably actuator- and / or cam-controlled sliding handling device, preferably designed to slide the setup parts from the magazine to the setup part receptacles of the labeling device and / or to slide the setup parts from the setup part receptacles of the labeling device to the magazine. This advantageously enables a comparatively simple design of the handling device, which nevertheless allows for high speed during changeover.

[0015] In one embodiment, the handling device has a driven pivoting mechanism, preferably with a horizontal pivot axis. The pivoting mechanism can preferably be designed to: to take one or more setup parts from the magazine and to pivot them to one or more of the setup part holders, preferably directly in a single pivoting movement; and / or to take one or more setup parts from the setup part holders of the labeling device and to pivot them to the magazine, preferably directly in a single pivoting movement.

[0016] In a further embodiment, the pivoting mechanism is a parallel pivoting mechanism. Alternatively or additionally, the pivoting mechanism comprises a base, a transfer head (e.g., gripper head), at least one (e.g., first) pivot arm, and optionally at least one second pivot arm. The at least one first pivot arm can be pivotably mounted on the base on the one hand and pivotably mounted on the transfer head on the other. Optionally, the at least one second pivot arm can be pivotably mounted on the base on the one hand and pivotably mounted on the transfer head on the other. Optionally, the at least one second pivot arm can also be arranged above the at least one first pivot arm. Advantageously, the parallel pivoting mechanism can enable the alignment of the setup parts to be maintained during movement by means of the handling device, so that no undesired degree of freedom exists in this regard.

[0017] In one embodiment, the handling device comprises a rotatable transfer head (e.g., gripper head) that has at least one setup part holder (e.g., gripper) on opposite sides for holding a setup part. This advantageously eliminates the need for the transfer head to travel between the magazine and the labeling device, enabling faster changeover.

[0018] In a further embodiment, the handling device has a guide rail along which the setup parts can be guided (e.g., laterally) toward and / or away from the multiple setup part receptacles of the labeling device. Alternatively or additionally, the multiple setup part receptacles of the labeling device can each have a guide rail along which one of the setup parts can be guided (e.g., laterally) toward and / or away from the respective setup part receptacle. This advantageously enables reliable movement of the setup parts during changeover without the setup parts, for example, undesirably changing their orientation or tipping to the side.

[0019] In one embodiment, the handling device comprises a preferably pneumatic ejection actuator (e.g., a cylinder-piston unit) and / or an ejection control cam (e.g., a movable or pivotable one) for ejecting the setup parts from a respective setup part receptacle of the labeling device. Alternatively or additionally, the handling device can comprise, for example, a preferably pneumatic insertion actuator (e.g., a cylinder-piston unit) and / or an insertion control cam for inserting the setup parts into a respective setup part receptacle of the labeling device. This advantageously enables a simple design of the handling device.

[0020] In a further embodiment, the setup part receptacles of the labeling device each have a locking mechanism for locking a respective setup part. The handling device can preferably have a preferably pneumatic unlocking actuator (e.g., a cylinder-piston unit) and / or a (e.g., displaceable or pivotable) locking control cam for actuating the locking mechanisms to unlock the respective setup part. This advantageously enables automatic unlocking of the setup parts in a structurally simple manner.

[0021] Preferably, the unlocking actuator, the ejection actuator, the unlocking control cam and / or the ejection control cam can be arranged radially inward of the setup part receptacles of the labeling device and / or can be connected to the labeling device in a non-rotating manner.

[0022] A further aspect of the present disclosure relates to a container treatment system (e.g., for manufacturing, cleaning, coating, testing, filling, closing, labeling, printing, marking, and / or packaging containers for liquid or pasty media, preferably beverages, liquid foodstuffs, or products from the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry). The container treatment system may comprise a device as disclosed herein.

[0023] For example, the containers can be designed as bottles, cans, canisters, cartons, flacons, tubes, etc.

[0024] Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for converting a device as disclosed herein. The method comprises a (e.g., automatic or semi-automatic)

[0025] The conversion system involves exchanging first setup parts, which are held by the setup part holders of the labeling device, for second setup parts from the magazine. Advantageously, the same advantages can be achieved with the method as already described with reference to the device. The same applies to the following preferred variants of the method.

[0026] For example, all the first set-up parts can first be moved away from the set-up part holders, preferably shifted or pivoted, and then all the second set-up parts can be moved toward the set-up part holders, preferably shifted or pivoted. This advantageously allows the set-up part holders of the labeling device to first be completely emptied and then completely reloaded with the second set-up parts.

[0027] Alternatively, for example, a subset (e.g., one or more) of the first setup parts can be moved, preferably shifted or pivoted, away from the setup part receptacles, and a subset (e.g., one or more) of the second setup parts can be moved, preferably shifted or pivoted, toward the setup part receptacles (e.g., toward those setup part receptacles from which the previous subset of the first setup parts were moved away), until all first setup parts have been exchanged for the second setup parts. Advantageously, the setup part receptacles of the labeling device can thus be emptied in sections and refilled with the second setup parts.

[0028] In one embodiment, the replacement comprises: (a) Taking over at least one first setup part from at least one of the setup part holders of the labelling device by means of the handling device; (b) Moving, preferably pivoting or shifting, the taken over at least one first setup part to a free space in the magazine by means of the handling device; (c) Moving, preferably rotating or (e.g., stacking (e.g.,in a linear movement and / or spring-returned), of the magazine by at least one cycle by means of a drive of the magazine; (d) taking over at least one second setup part from the magazine by means of the handling device; (e) moving, preferably pivoting or shifting, the taken over at least one second setup part from the magazine to the at least one previously freed setup part holder (from which the at least one first setup part was previously taken over) of the labeling device by means of the handling device; (f) rotating the labeling device by at least one cycle by means of a drive of the labeling device; and optionally (g) repeating steps (a) to (f) until all first setup parts from the labeling device have been replaced by second setup parts from the magazine; with or without step (f) in the last repetition.

[0029] In one embodiment, the exchange comprises pushing out the first setup parts from the setup part receptacles of the labeling device by means of a preferably pneumatic push-out actuator (e.g. cylinder-piston unit) and / or a push-out control cam of the handling device, while the labeling device is rotated continuously or intermittently by means of a drive. The exchange optionally further comprises pushing in the second setup parts by means of a preferably pneumatic push-in actuator (e.g. cylinder-piston unit) and / or a push-in control cam of the handling device, while the labeling device is rotated continuously or intermittently by means of a drive, preferably during or after the pushing out. Preferably, the exchange can further comprise unlocking the first setup parts before the pushing out by means of a preferably pneumatic unlocking actuator (e.g. cylinder-piston unit) and / or a (e.g.movable) locking control cam.

[0030] In a further embodiment, the handling device has a rotatable transfer head, which has at least one setup part holder (e.g. gripper) on a first side and on a (e.g. opposite) second side for holding a setup part. During exchange, the transfer head takes over at least one second setup part from the magazine with its second side, then the transfer head is rotated (e.g. by 180°), and then the transfer head transfers at least one first setup part from its first side to at least one space in the magazine that was freed up by the previous transfer. Alternatively or additionally, during exchange, the transfer head can take over at least one first setup part with its first side from at least one setup part holder of the labeling device, then the transfer head canby 180°), and then the transfer head can transfer at least a second setup part from its second side to the at least one setup part holder of the labelling device that has been released by the previous transfer.

[0031] It is possible that the replacement will have: (a) Taking over at least one second setup part from the magazine by means of the second side of the rotatable transfer head of the handling device; (b) Moving, preferably pivoting or shifting, the taken over at least one second setup part to the labeling device and rotating the transfer head, e.g. by 180°, e.g. of the movement; (c) Taking over at least one first setup part from at least one of the setup part receptacles of the labeling device by means of the first side of the rotatable transfer head of the handling device; (d) Rotating the transfer head, e.g. by 180°; (e) Transferring the taken over at least one second setup part from the second side of the transfer head to the at least one of the setup part receptacles of the labeling device; (f) Moving, preferably pivoting or shifting, the taken over at least one first setup part to the magazine by means of the handling device and rotating the transfer head, e.g. B. by 180°, e.g.during the movement; and (g) transferring the received at least one first setup part from the first side of the transfer head to the magazine; (h) moving, preferably rotating or (e.g., stacking (e.g., in a linear movement and / or spring-returned), the magazine by at least one cycle by means of a drive of the magazine, (i) rotating the labeling device by at least one cycle; and optionally (j) repeating steps (a) to (i) until all first setup parts from the labeling device have been replaced by second setup parts from the magazine; with or without step (i) and / or (j) in the last repetition.

[0032] Preferably, the term "control device" used herein can refer to electronics (e.g., implemented as a driver circuit or with microprocessor(s) and data memory) and / or a mechanical, pneumatic, and / or hydraulic control system, which, depending on its design, can perform control tasks and / or regulation tasks and / or processing tasks. Even if the term "control" is used herein, it can also appropriately include or mean "regulation" or "control with feedback" and / or "processing."

[0035] The embodiments shown in the figures correspond at least partially, so that similar or identical parts are provided with the same reference numerals and for their explanation reference is also made to the description of the other embodiments or figures in order to avoid repetition.

[0036] For the sake of clarity, in the figures where there are a large number of components of the same type (e.g. setup parts, setup part holders, locking mechanisms), not all components are provided with their own reference symbol. Detailed description of exemplary embodiments

[0037] The Figure 1 shows a device 10 for labeling containers. Preferably, the device 10 can be incorporated into a container processing system.

[0038] The device 10 has a labeling device 12 and a conversion system 26. Optionally, the device 10 can also have, for example, an input conveyor 14 and an output conveyor 16.

[0039] The labeling device 12 can be arranged downstream (container-wise) from the input conveyor 14. The labeling device 12 can receive containers to be labeled from the input conveyor 14. The input conveyor 14 can preferably be designed as an infeed star.

[0040] The labeling device 12 can be arranged (container-wise) upstream of the output conveyor 16. The labeling device 12 can transfer the labeled containers to the output conveyor 16. The output conveyor 16 can preferably be designed as an outlet star.

[0041] The labeling device 12 can label containers. For example, the labeling device 12 can have at least one labeling unit 18. The at least one labeling unit 18 can be interchangeably coupled and uncoupled from a periphery of the labeling device 12, e.g., via a preferably tool-free quick-coupling mechanism. The at least one labeling unit can be designed for applying labels, e.g., self-adhesive labels, cold-glue labels, or roll labels.

[0042] The labeling device 12 can be rotatable by means of a drive. Preferably, the labeling device 12 can be designed as a rotary labeling device with a carousel that can be rotated by means of the drive. Containers can be held spaced apart from one another on a circumference of the carousel and labeled by means of the at least one labeling unit 18. Alternatively, the labeling device 12 can be designed, for example, as a linear labeling device.

[0043] The labeling device 12 can be converted to label different container formats. During conversion, (first) setup parts 20, which are adapted to a first container format, can be replaced by (second) setup parts 22, which are adapted to a second container format, or vice versa.

[0044] In the illustrated embodiment of Figure 1For example, the labeling device 12 is equipped with the setup parts 20. The conversion system 26 is equipped with the setup parts 22. Accordingly, the labeling device 12 can be converted by exchanging the setup parts 20 for the setup parts 22. After the conversion, the labeling device 12 can be equipped with the setup parts 22, and the conversion system 26 can be equipped with the setup parts 20. It is understood that a further conversion of the labeling device 12 back to the setup parts 20 is possible.

[0045] The fitting parts 20, 22 can be, for example, (container) turntables for rotating the containers during labeling, centering bells for clamping the containers or grippers for expanding tubular labels, etc.

[0046] The setup part holders 24 of the labeling device 12 can accommodate the setup parts 20, 22 accordingly.

[0047] In the preferred embodiment shown, the setup parts 20, 22 are designed as container turntables, and the setup part receptacles 24 are designed as turntable receptacles. However, it is understood that the techniques disclosed herein can also be advantageously applied to other setup parts of the labeling device 12, e.g., to centering bells for clamping the containers or grippers for expanding tubular labels.

[0048] The fitting parts 20, 22 can each have a functional area designed to interact with a container. The functional area of the fitting parts 20 can differ from the functional area of the fitting parts 22, e.g., in terms of dimensions and / or structure. The functional area of the fitting parts 20 can be adapted to a first container format. The functional area of the fitting parts 22 can be adapted to a second container format. The first and second container formats can differ from one another.

[0049] In the case of setup parts 20, 22 designed as turntables, the functional area can be designed, for example, as a container holder for receiving a base of a container.

[0050] The setup parts 20, 22 can be releasably mounted on the setup part receptacles 24. For example, one setup part 20, 22 can be releasably mounted on each setup part receptacle 24. Preferably, the setup parts 20, 22 can be plugged or placed onto the setup part receptacles 24. The setup part receptacles 24 can support the setup parts 20, 22, for example, on the floor.

[0051] Particularly preferably, the fitting parts 20, 22 can be locked to the fitting part receptacles 24 for fastening and unlocked for release, e.g., for removing the respective fitting part 20, 22.

[0052] For example, locking can occur automatically when a setup part 20, 22 is pressed against a respective setup part holder 24 and, for example, engages. Unlocking may require, for example, the actuation of a release switch or similar.

[0053] The setup part receptacles 22 can, for example, be arranged distributed around a circumference of a carousel of the labeling device 12. Accordingly, the setup parts 20, 22 received on the setup part receptacles 22 can be positioned distributed around the circumference of the carousel of the labeling device 12.

[0054] The fitting parts 20, 22 can each have an attachment area designed for attaching the fitting parts 20, 22 to the fitting part receptacles 24. The attachment area of the fitting parts 20 and the attachment area of the fitting parts 22 can be the same.

[0055] The conversion system 26 is designed to convert the labeling device 12 by exchanging the conversion parts 20 and 22. The labeling device 12 can thus be converted to a different container format by changing from the first conversion parts 20 to the second conversion parts 22 (and vice versa). The conversion system 26 can be semi- or fully automatic, for example.

[0056] The conversion system 26 can preferably be coupled to the labeling device 12 and decoupled from the labeling device 12.

[0057] During coupling, the conversion system can be brought into a predetermined position and / or alignment with the labeling device 12. For example, the conversion system 26 can be raised to compensate for uneven floors.

[0058] In the coupled state, there is preferably a mechanical (physical) connection between the conversion system 26 and the labeling device 12. Particularly preferably, the conversion system 26 can be coupled to the same coupling points of the labeling device 12 to which the labeling units 18 can also be coupled.

[0059] Preferably, in the coupled state, the conversion system 26 can be supplied with electrical energy and / or media (e.g., sterile air or compressed air) by means of the labeling device 12. Alternatively, the conversion system 26 itself can be equipped with an electrical energy storage device and / or a media source (e.g., an air compressor).

[0060] In the uncoupled state, the conversion system 26 can be pushed or pulled by a user or a vehicle, e.g., toward or away from the labeling device 12. Alternatively, the conversion system 26 can be connected, connectable, or integrated with an autonomous transport system, for example. The transport system can be configured to move autonomously to the labeling device 12 and couple to it. In order to be able to move on the system floor, the conversion system 26 in all variants can have, for example, rollers or similar features.

[0061] As an alternative to coupling and uncoupling, it is also possible for the conversion system 26 to be permanently connected to the labeling device 12.

[0062] The conversion system 26 has a magazine 28 and a handling device 32.

[0063] Both the setup parts 20 and the setup parts 22 can be received and stored (stocked) in the magazine 28. For example, the magazine 28 can have several setup part receptacles 30. The setup part receptacles 30 can be designed to accommodate both the setup parts 20 and the setup parts 22.

[0064] Alternatively, it is possible, for example, to include a first magazine for receiving the setup parts 20 and a second magazine for receiving the setup parts 22.

[0065] Preferably, the magazine 28 can be a circulating magazine. For example, the circulating magazine can be a drum magazine, a belt magazine, or a chain magazine. Alternatively, the magazine 28 can be a stacking magazine, for example.

[0066] The magazine 28 can be single-track or multi-track. In a single-track magazine, the setup parts 20, 22 can be positioned one behind the other in a single row (track). For example, the setup part holders 30 can be arranged one behind the other in a single row. In a multi-track magazine, the setup parts 20, 22 can be positioned next to each other in several rows. The rows can preferably run parallel to each other. For example, the setup part holders 30 can be arranged next to each other in several rows.

[0067] The handling device 32 is designed to move the setup parts 20, 22 between the magazine 28 and the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12. For example, the handling device 32 can move the setup parts 22 from the magazine 28 to the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12. Alternatively or additionally, the handling device 32 can move the setup parts 20 from the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12 to the magazine 28.

[0068] The handling device 32 can, for example, be a stationary or mobile robot or any other type of handling device. For example, the handling device can have a pivotable and / or displaceable arm for moving the setup parts 20, 22 between the setup part receptacles 24 and the magazine 28.

[0069] Preferably, the handling device 32 can be a pick-and-place handling device or a push handling device (push-over handling device).

[0070] The pick-and-place handling device can preferably perform only a (single) pivoting movement, e.g., by approximately 180°, to move the setup parts 20, 22 between the magazine 28 and the setup part holders 24. The pivoting movement can, for example, be approximately 180° and / or around a horizontally oriented pivot axis. To perform the pivoting movement, the handling device 32 can, for example, have a pivot arm, a SCARA robot, or a multi-axis robot.

[0071] The sliding handling device can slide the setup parts 22 from the magazine 28 toward the setup part receptacles 24. For example, the sliding handling device can slide the setup parts 22 into the setup part receptacles 24 or slide them onto the setup part receptacles 24. Alternatively or additionally, the sliding handling device can slide the setup parts 20 away from the setup part receptacles 24 toward the magazine 28. The sliding can be performed, for example, by means of a preferably pneumatic actuator and / or cam-controlled.

[0072] Preferably, the handling device 32 can simultaneously move a plurality of setup parts 20, 22 between the magazine 28 and the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12. For example, the handling device 32 can simultaneously move two, three, or more of the setup parts 20 from the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12 to the magazine 28. Alternatively or additionally, the handling device 32 can, for example, simultaneously move two, three, or more of the setup parts 22 from the magazine 28 to the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12.

[0073] Alternatively, the handling device 32 can, for example, move only one of the setup parts 20, 22 at a time between the magazine 28 and the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12, e.g., from the magazine 28 to one of the setup part receptacles 24 or vice versa.

[0074] Preferably, the changeover system 26 can be operated by a control device such that spaces (e.g., setup part receptacles 30) in the magazine 28 that become vacant during a changeover process are occupied by setup parts 20 taken over from the labeling device 12 during this changeover process. For example, at least one space (e.g., setup part receptacle 30) in the magazine 28 can become vacant if at least one setup part 22 is moved by the handling device 32 to at least one of the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12. This at least one vacated space can be reoccupied by at least one setup part 20 that is moved by the handling device 32 from at least one of the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12 to the magazine 28.

[0075] The conversion system 26 can be operated by a control device for converting the labeling device 12, for example, as follows. First, at least one of the setup parts 20 can be taken over from at least one of the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12 by means of the handling device 32. The taken over at least one setup part 20 can be moved, preferably pivoted or shifted, to a free location in the magazine 28 designed as a circulating magazine by means of the handling device 32. The magazine 28 can be moved further, preferably rotated, by a drive of the magazine 28 by at least one cycle. By means of the handling device 32, at least one of the setup parts 22 can be removed from the magazine 28. The taken over at least one setup part 22 can be moved, preferably pivoted or shifted, by means of the handling device 32 to the previously emptied at least one setup part receptacle 24 of the labeling device 12.The labeling device 12 can be rotated by at least one cycle and the process repeated until all setup parts 20 have been replaced by setup parts 22.

[0076] The Figure 2 shows an exemplary conversion system 26 with a magazine 28 designed as a drum magazine. A drive can rotate the drum magazine intermittently. The drum magazine can, for example, be rotatable about a horizontal drum axis. The drum magazine can have several parallel tracks, e.g., three tracks as shown.

[0077] The Figure 2 further shows a preferred embodiment of the handling device 32.

[0078] The handling device 32 can have a driven pivoting mechanism 34. The pivoting mechanism 34 preferably has a single pivot axis for pivoting at least one tool 20, 22 between the tool holders 24, 30 in a single pivoting movement. The pivot axis is preferably oriented horizontally.

[0079] The pivoting mechanism 34 can be designed, for example, as a parallel pivoting mechanism. The tooling parts 20, 22 pivoted by the pivoting mechanism 34 can maintain their, preferably upright, orientation during pivoting.

[0080] For example, the pivoting mechanism 34 may include a base 36, a transfer head 38, at least one pivot arm 40, 42, and a drive 44 for driving the at least one pivot arm 40, 42.

[0081] The transfer head 38 is preferably designed to hold one or more setup parts 20, 22. For example, the transfer head 38 can have at least one gripper for gripping and holding a setup part 20, 22. The at least one gripper can be, for example, a hole gripper or an external gripper, e.g., a parallel gripper.

[0082] The at least one pivot arm 40, 42 can pivotally support the transfer head 38 on the base 36. The transfer head 38 can be pivoted about the base 36 by the at least one pivot arm 40, 42.

[0083] Preferably, at least one first pivot arm 40 can be pivotally mounted on the base 36 on the one hand and pivotally mounted on the transfer head 38 on the other. Preferably, at least one second pivot arm 42 can be pivotally mounted on the base 36 on the one hand and pivotally mounted on the transfer head 38 on the other. The at least one second pivot arm 42 can be arranged above the at least one first pivot arm 40.

[0084] Preferably, two pivot arms 40 and two pivot arms 42 can be included. The transfer head 38 can, for example, be arranged between the two pivot arms 40 and the two pivot arms 42.

[0085] The Figure 3shows an exemplary conversion system 26 with a magazine 28 designed as a belt magazine. A drive can rotate the belt magazine intermittently. The belt magazine can, for example, be rotatable about two spaced-apart horizontal belt axes. The belt magazine can have several parallel tracks, e.g., three tracks as shown.

[0086] The Figure 4 shows a variant of the handling device 32 with a special transfer head 38'.

[0087] As already explained, the transfer head 38' can be pivoted by means of at least one pivot arm 40. The at least one pivot arm 40 can be driven by the drive 44. In addition, the transfer head 38' can be rotatable, e.g., about its own longitudinal axis. A drive 46 can rotate the transfer head 38'.

[0088] As in Figure 4As shown schematically, the rotatable transfer head 38' can have at least one setup part holder (e.g., any type of gripper as disclosed herein) on opposite sides for holding a setup part 20, 22. Thus, the rotatable transfer head 38' can simultaneously hold at least one first setup part 20 on its first side and at least one second setup part 22 on its second side, or vice versa.

[0089] The changeover can then proceed, for example, as follows. Second setup parts 22 can be taken over from the magazine 28 using the second side of the transfer head 38'. The transfer head 38' can pivot towards the labeling device 12 using the drive 44 and, in doing so, can also rotate 180° using the drive 46. The transfer head 38' can now take over first setup parts 20 from the setup part holders 24 using the first side. The transfer head 38' can then rotate 180° using the drive 46 and transfer the previously taken over second setup parts 22 to the newly released setup part holders 24. The transfer head 38' can now pivot back to the magazine 28 using the drive 44 and, in doing so, can also rotate 180° using the drive 46. Having arrived at the magazine 28, the transfer head 38' can transfer the previously taken over first setup parts 20 to the previously vacated locations in the magazine 28.The previous steps can be repeated, whereby the magazine 28 and the labeling device 12 can be rotated further by at least one cycle beforehand.

[0090] The Figure 5 shows a handling device 32 which, for example, has an insertion actuator 48.

[0091] The insertion actuator 48 can push the setup parts 22 from the magazine 28 to the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12. During the pushing, the setup parts 22 can preferably be guided, e.g., on a guide rail of the handling device 32 and / or on a guide rail of a respective setup part receptacle 24.

[0092] The insertion actuator 48 can, for example, push the setup parts 22 completely onto the setup part receptacle 24, partially onto the setup part receptacles 24, or only close to the setup part receptacles 24. The insertion actuator 48 can, for example, push one of the setup parts 22 at a time or several of the setup parts 22 simultaneously toward the setup part receptacles 24. Preferably, the setup parts 22 can be pushed radially by the insertion actuator 48 with respect to a central rotational axis of the labeling device 12.

[0093] The insertion actuator 48 can preferably be a pneumatic actuator. The insertion actuator 48 can, for example, be designed as a cylinder-piston unit.

[0094] The insertion actuator 48 can, for example, be connected to a one- or two-sided swing door 50. The swing door 50 can preferably only be opened in one direction, namely only by the following setup parts 22 or in a direction toward the labeling device 12. As soon as a setup part 22 has passed the swing door 50, the insertion actuator 48 can push the swing door 50 together with the setup part 22 toward the setup part holder 24.

[0095] The Figures 6 and 7 show a handling device 32, which has, for example, an insertion control cam 52. For the sake of clarity, the Figures 6 and 7 only one setup part 22 and only one setup part holder 24 are shown.

[0096] The insertion control cam 52 can completely push setup parts 22, which have already been pre-positioned, e.g. pushed, close to the setup part holders 24 or partially on the setup part holders 24, onto the setup part holders 24. For example, the setup parts 22 can be pushed by the magazine 28 or the insertion actuator 48 (see Figure 5 ) can be pre-positioned in this way.

[0097] Preferably, the insertion control curve 52 can extend elongated and arcuately along a section of the labeling device 12. Along its elongated and arcuate course, the insertion control curve 52 can steadily approach a partial circle of the labeling device 12 or the setup part receptacles 24 of the labeling device 12 for pushing the setup parts 22 onto the setup part receptacles 24.

[0098] When the labeling device 22 rotates, the pre-positioned setup parts 22 can be taken along and then pushed completely onto the setup part holders 24 by the insertion control cam 52.

[0099] The Figures 6 and 7 also show exemplary guide rails 54, 56.

[0100] The setup parts 20, 22 can be guided by the guide rail 54 and pushed toward and / or away from the plurality of setup part receptacles 24. Alternatively or additionally, the setup parts 20, 22 can be guided by a guide rail 56 of a respective setup part receptacle 24 and pushed toward and / or away from the respective setup part receptacle 24. Preferably, the guide rails 54, 56 can be aligned radially with respect to a central axis of rotation of the labeling device 12.

[0101] The fitting parts 20, 22 can have at least one guide element 58, which engages with the guide rail 54 and / or 56 for guidance. The guide element 58 can be designed, for example, as a sliding piece. Preferably, the guide element 58 can encompass the guide rail 54 and / or 56, e.g., on one long side or both long sides of the respective guide rail 54, 56.

[0102] Preferably, the guide rails 54 and / or 56 can also support the setup parts 20, 22 on the floor side.

[0103] The guide rails 54, 56 can particularly preferably be included as components of a sliding handling device 32.

[0104] The Figure 8 shows a handling device 32, which may, for example, have an unlocking actuator 62 and / or an ejection actuator 64.

[0105] As already mentioned, it is possible for the setup part receptacles 24 to each have a locking mechanism 60 for locking a respective setup part 20, 22 to the respective setup part receptacle 24.

[0106] The unlocking actuator 62 can be included to unlock the locking mechanisms 60. The unlocking actuator 62 can, for example, extend to actuate at least one locking mechanism 60 positioned in front of it to unlock the respective setup part 20, 22. The labeling device 12 can be rotated further to position the next locking mechanism 60 24 in front of the unlocking actuator 62.

[0107] The ejection actuator 64 can be included for ejecting the, preferably unlocked, setup parts 20, 22. The ejection actuator 64 can, for example, extend to push at least one setup part 20 positioned in front of it from the respective setup part holder 24 toward the magazine 28. The labeling device 12 can be rotated further to position the next setup part 24 in front of the ejection actuator 64.

[0108] The unlocking actuator 62 and / or the ejection actuator 64 can preferably be a pneumatic actuator. The unlocking actuator 62 and / or the ejection actuator 64 can, for example, be designed as a cylinder-piston unit.

[0109] It is possible to include an unlocking control cam for unlocking the locking mechanisms 60 during rotation of the labeling device 12. Preferably, the unlocking control cam can be selectively engaged with the locking mechanisms 60, e.g., by sliding or pivoting the unlocking control cam.

[0110] It is also possible to include an ejection control cam for ejecting the setup parts 20, 22 from the setup part receptacles 24 during rotation of the labeling device 12. Preferably, the ejection control cam can be selectively engaged with the setup parts 20, 22, e.g., by shifting or pivoting the ejection control cam.
