AI Technical Summary
Existing parking facilities are complex and costly due to the high number of drives required for vertical and horizontal transport, as well as complex movement sequences that need to be recorded using sensors.
The parking facility features parking platforms that can move vertically on lifting grids and horizontally on transverse grids, with the lifting grids handling both vertical and horizontal movements, reducing the complexity and number of drives and sensors needed, and allowing for a simpler and more cost-effective design.
This solution reduces the complexity and cost of the parking facility by limiting complex movements to the lifting grids, requiring fewer drives and sensors, while maintaining efficient platform movement and access, thereby achieving a more reliable and cost-effective operation.

[0002] Park and procedures for its operation
[0003] The invention relates to a parking facility according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for its operation according to claim 24.
[0004] Parking systems or parking facilities serve to save space by parking motor vehicles while optimizing access areas. A parking system is known from DE 10 2020 102 244 A1. This parking system for motor vehicles comprises a parking rack with adjacent parking grids and a plurality of parking levels arranged one above the other. The parking levels comprise an uppermost parking level, a lowermost parking level, and at least one intermediate level in between. At least one parking level is connected to an access road and thus forms an entry level. Parking platforms for the motor vehicles are arranged in the parking rack, with at least one empty space provided in the at least one intermediate level. Each rack space has a displacement device for displacing the parking platform within the respective parking level, as well as at least one lifting device with lifting elements for vertically transporting the platforms. The lifting elements can be optionally coupled to the parking platform for vertical transport. A disadvantage is the large number of drives for vertical and horizontal transport, and the complex movement sequences also require sensor technology. The parking system is correspondingly complex and expensive.
[0005] The object of the invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a solution which is of low complexity, functions reliably and is cost-effective.
[0006] Main features of the invention are set forth in the characterizing part of claim 1 and claim 24. Embodiments are the subject of claims 2 to 23 and 25 to 27.
[0007] The invention relates to a parking facility or parking device for vehicles, with parking platforms that are movably arranged in at least two parking levels arranged one above the other and at least two parking grids arranged next to one another. This can be referred to as a parking rack with rack spaces. At least one of the parking grids is a lifting grid in which the parking platforms are vertically movable, in particular movably driven, by a vertical drive. According to the invention, at least one, preferably at least two, of the parking grids is a transverse grid in which the parking platforms are driven and / or mounted so as not to be vertically movable, wherein the parking platforms are mounted so as to be horizontally movable on tracks of the parking levels and are driven so as to be horizontally movable into the or at least one of the lifting grids by a transverse drive.
[0008] The advantage lies in the functional division into the functions of the relatively simple transverse grids and the lifting grids for vertical transport. The greater complexity of the lifting grids, which must provide both horizontal and vertical movements as well as the transition between these directions of movement, is thus limited to the lifting grids. Accordingly, fewer drives, other mechanics and monitoring sensors are required and the costs are low. The parking platforms should have a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction in the horizontal, with the longitudinal direction being larger than the transverse direction, and adjacent platforms should be arranged with their long edges adjacent to one another. Accordingly, vehicles on the platforms are positioned side by side and drive onto the platforms in the longitudinal direction.
[0009] According to a more detailed embodiment of the invention, the parking platforms are mounted in a rollable manner on tracks of the parking levels. Such a design is relatively uncomplicated, error-resistant, and allows the platforms to be moved horizontally with little effort and energy. Optionally, the tracks extend over the parking grids designed as lifting grids, in particular in at least two of the parking levels, preferably in all parking levels. This allows the parking platforms to be moved along the track into and / or over the lifting grid. The tracks should extend horizontally, in particular across all parking grids. It can also prove advantageous if parking platforms can be arranged simultaneously in several parking levels within the parking grid designed as a lifting grid. This makes it possible, for example, to clear another lifting grid while parking levels in the lifting grid are temporarily stored.
[0010] Specifically, the tracks can be designed as rails, and the parking platforms can have rollers that run on the rails. This ensures particularly smooth operation and enables precise guidance of the parking platforms.
[0011] Preferably, the tracks in the parking grids designed as lifting grids are designed to be openable, preferably openable in such a way that they are movably mounted such that they can be moved out of the vertical projection (or the movement path) of a parking platform moving vertically through the lifting grid. Accordingly, the platforms can be easily lifted past the tracks, and the mechanism for avoiding a collision can be easily arranged on the side of the fixed track.
[0012] It is possible for the tracks in the parking grids designed as a lifting grid to be driven openable by at least one actuator. Optionally, each parking level in a lifting grid can have a separate actuator for opening the track. This allows the tracks to be opened selectively, which saves energy and reduces wear on the mechanical components. Furthermore, the unopened tracks can be used for horizontal transport of other platforms.
[0013] Alternatively, it is also possible for each lifting grid to have a single actuator for opening the tracks, which operates all tracks of the lifting grid via a kinematic coupling. Accordingly, only a small number of actuators are required and the complexity is low.
[0014] When transitioning from horizontal to vertical movement of a parking platform in a lifting grid, it is advisable to first pick up the parking platform in the lifting grid using the vertical drive and, if necessary, lift it (slightly) from the track before the track is opened. This relieves the load on the track's mechanics and the platform can be transferred to vertical movement smoothly. According to a special design, drivers are formed between the transverse drive of a parking level and the parking platforms in this parking level, with which the parking platforms are coupled for horizontal movement. Drivers have the advantage that no decoupling by separate drives is required during the transition from horizontal movement to vertical movement. Decoupling is preferably carried out exclusively by the vertical drive.
[0015] Optionally, the carriers can be mounted on one or more horizontally movable carrier slides driven by the transverse drive. Such a slide allows for precise guidance of the carriers.
[0016] Specifically, the carrier carriage(s) can have a horizontally extending rack, which is / are displaceably driven by a drive pinion of the transverse drive. This allows a rotational movement of a stationary drive motor to be easily transformed into a translational movement of the carrier carriage.
[0017] In a more detailed embodiment, at least two adjacent parking platforms on a parking level are driven by the transverse drive in a motion-coupled manner. Thus, no individual movement or relative movement between these motion-coupled platforms is possible.
[0018] A further design option is that the transverse drive can be designed in such a way that a parking platform in a parking level can only be moved by a single parking grid.
[0019] A reduced level of complexity can also be achieved through an optional design in which each parking platform located in a transverse grid is driven to move in only one of the lifting grids. The travel ranges are correspondingly small. Optionally, this can also be implemented in reverse, namely by each parking platform located in a lifting grid being driven to move in only one of the transverse grids. In a parking level, for example, each parking platform then has only two positions: a fixed position in one of the transverse grids and a fixed position in one of the lifting grids.
[0020] Furthermore, the vertical drive in a lifting grid can optionally have just one or just two drive motors. Accordingly, only a few drive motors are required for vertical transport. Due to the masses to be moved, these are usually the largest drives required, so that only a small number of them are needed. If two drive motors are present, they are preferably located on two opposite sides of the lifting grid. This keeps the complexity of uniform platform lifting to a minimum. Conversely, with just one drive motor, the number of motors can be kept to a minimum. Actuators can then be used to redirect the force in order to be able to move the platform vertically evenly on all sides, i.e. in particular without tipping or canting.
[0021] In a special design, all the sensors and actuators required to move the parking platforms horizontally are located in the cross grids. The parking platforms are then, in a sense, pushed out of the cross grids and pulled back into them.
[0022] Conversely, all the sensors and actuators required to move the parking platforms vertically should be located in the lifting grids. The cross grids do not require such sensors and actuators. This ultimately allows the lifting grids and cross grids to be easily combined or placed side by side without having to provide couplings for the sensors and actuators. This modularity with low complexity enables simple assembly.
[0023] In a more detailed design, the transverse drive in each transverse grid has exactly one drive motor per parking level. This allows each individual transverse grid to perform horizontal movement of the parking platform at each parking level. A transverse drive is not absolutely necessary in the lifting grids. Therefore, it is possible for the lifting grid(s) to have no transverse drive.
[0024] Furthermore, at least one of the parking levels can be a drive-in level, designed such that a vehicle can be driven onto a parking platform positioned in the lifting grid at the drive-in level. Access to the drive-in level is typically provided on site. The lifting grid should have an openable gate at the drive-in level. This allows access to the parking facility to be blocked during movement.
[0025] Furthermore, the entry level can be designed such that at least one, preferably all, parking platforms positioned in the cross-grid at the entry level cannot be accessed by a vehicle. Access is thus restricted to the lifting grids. This requires less access space. Bicycle parking spaces, seating, or other facilities can then be placed in front of the cross-grids. Furthermore, the number of movable and driven gates, which are only required for the lifting grids, can be reduced. The cross-grid(s) can be structurally closed, particularly at the entry level, for example, with fixed cladding, fixed barriers, a service gate, or masonry. According to one possible embodiment, the parking platforms have coupling means, in particular suspension points, to which the vertical drive in the lifting grid couples for vertical transport. This achieves a mechanically simple connection to the vertical drive.
[0026] Specifically, the vertical drive can have four revolving cables or chains in the lifting grid, each with a carrier for one of the four corners of one of the parking platforms. This allows for a very space-saving guide for the vertical drive.
[0027] Additionally, the four circulating cables or chains can each have at least one or exactly one carrier per parking level. This eliminates the need to move the carriers into position across parking levels each time. This reduces access times because empty carrier runs are avoided.
[0028] The parking facility should preferably have a maximum number of parking platforms, or exactly enough platforms, to allow one of the parking grids to be completely cleared of parking platforms, especially one of the lifting grids. This allows exactly one lifting grid to be used as a vertical shaft at a time, allowing a selected platform to be moved through it.
[0029] A simple design is achieved when each parking platform has a permanently assigned parking level. This avoids the complexity of rearranging the parking platforms between the parking levels. A parking platform requested for removal is then moved back to its original parking level, if possible. This also fundamentally allows for the use of different distances between the parking levels, with lower parking levels then being usable only for sedans, for example, while higher parking levels can also be used for SUVs and minibuses.
[0030] In a special design, each parking platform is assigned to a specific vehicle, and the respective parking platform features customized wheel stops. The precise positioning of the vehicles on the platforms using the wheel stops allows for the use of short parking platforms, i.e., those with smaller safety overhangs.
[0031] To minimize horizontal travel distances, the cross grids and lifting grids should be arranged alternately next to each other. A design that always has exactly one cross grid between two lifting grids contributes to this goal. With this arrangement, a platform only needs to be moved a maximum of one parking space to enter a lifting grid. Furthermore, all parking platforms only need to be moved a maximum of one parking space to completely clear or unblock a lifting grid.
[0032] It's advisable that each of the parking platforms can only be requested in one of the lifting grids. This keeps horizontal movement distances to a minimum.
[0033] Furthermore, the parking facility can have exactly one row of parking spaces. This allows for quick access to the vehicles without drivers having to walk deep into the parking area to retrieve a vehicle.
[0034] Alternatively, the lifting grids and cross grids can have at least two consecutive rows of parking spaces, with at least or exactly one of the parking platforms in the front row being a drive-over platform, over which a vehicle can be driven from the entry level to the rear row of parking spaces and vice versa. The drive-over platform is preferably not designated as a parking space. This achieves a high parking density because the access road does not need to be expanded. The only difference is that one parking space in the front row is lost to the drive-over platform.
[0035] The parking facility should have a central control unit that controls all actuators and optionally monitors the movement sequences with sensors.
[0036] The invention further relates to a method for operating a parking facility as specified above and below, in which the following steps are carried out. First, one of the parking platforms in a parking level of the or one of the lifting grids is requested (step a)). Typically, this is done to remove a vehicle from the requested parking platform or to park one on it. It is rather rare for a requester to simply remove something from the vehicle or place something in it, or the like. This is followed by a check to determine whether the lifting grid is free of the other parking platforms, and if not, the entire lifting grid is cleared of the other parking platforms (i.e., the unrequested parking platforms) by moving these parking platforms horizontally from the lifting grid into adjacent transverse grids (step b)). It may optionally be necessary for platforms in adjacent transverse grids to also be moved horizontally. After or simultaneously with clearing (step b)), a check is made to determine whether the requested parking platform is already located in the lifting grid, and if not, the requested parking platform is moved from an adjacent transverse grid into the lifting grid (step c)). As a result, the requested parking platform is then located in the desired lifting grid, in particular alone. Subsequently, a check is made to determine whether the requested parking platform is already located in the parking level in the lifting grid in which the requested parking platform is requested, and if not, the requested parking platform is moved vertically in the lifting grid towards the parking level in which the requested parking platform is requested (step d)).
[0037] The advantages correspond to those of the parking system and lie primarily in the low complexity of the movement sequences to be implemented according to the process, with the lifting movements in particular being limited to the lifting grid. The testing can be purely logical, with the result already determined, so that the action of the procedural step is triggered or skipped. However, the testing can also be supplemented with sensor technology, which compares a target state with the actual state detected by sensors.
[0038] The process can optionally include granting access to the requested parking platform if this parking platform is located at the parking level in the lifting grid in which the requested parking platform is requested (i.e., after step d)). This is typically an entry level, and a person can access a vehicle on the parking platform or park a vehicle on the parking platform. No movement of the parking platforms or their drives should occur as long as access is granted. This avoids the need for a transfer cabin or similar device to protect the person on the requested parking platform.
[0039] Following this procedure, access to the requested parking platform can be blocked after its release. Afterward, a check is made to determine whether the requested platform is located on the original parking level. If not, the requested parking platform is moved vertically back to the original parking level. This ensures a fixed allocation of the parking platforms within the parking levels.
[0040] Specifically, the method can be provided for the vertical movement of the requested parking platform within the lifting grid (i.e., within the scope of step d)) to open tracks in the lifting grid on which the parking platforms are mounted in a rollable manner within the parking levels. Regarding the advantages and options, reference is made to the above explanations regarding the track of the parking facility.
[0041] The additional features of the parking facility can each be used in the method and be functionally utilized therein. Further features, details, and advantages of the invention emerge from the wording of the claims and the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. They show:

[0044] Fig. 3 a sketch of a parking area in side view with a row of parking spaces;

[0048] Fig. 7a-c three sketches of a parking facility with five parking levels and five parking grids, with a possible movement sequence to request another platform in three steps.
[0049] Fig. 1 shows a perspective sketch of a parking facility 1 with a parking space row Z1. This parking facility 1 is shown in Fig. 2 in a frontal view, in Fig. 3 in a side view, and in Fig. 4 with a detail of a transverse drive 4. Figs. 1 to 4 are therefore described together, and the same reference numerals refer to the same components.
[0050] Figures 1 to 4 each show a schematic representation of a section of a parking facility 1 for vehicles, with parking platforms comprising only a few parking platforms 11, 12, 13. In particular, Figures 1 to 3 show three parking levels E1, E2, E3 and two parking grids R1, R2. This can be optionally expanded to include almost any number of parking levels and parking grids.
[0051] The parking platforms 11, 12, 13 are movably arranged in these three superimposed parking levels E1, E2, E3 and the two adjacent parking grids R1, R2. One of the parking grids R1, R2 is a lifting grid R2, in which the parking platforms 11, 12, 13 are vertically movable by a vertical drive 2. The other of the parking grids R1, R2 is a transverse grid R1, in which the parking platforms 11, 12, 13 are driven and / or mounted so as not to be vertically movable. The parking platforms 11, 12, and 13 are mounted on rollers for horizontal movement on tracks 40, 41, and 42 (see especially Figs. 2, 3, and 4) of the parking levels E1, E2, and E3, and are driven by a transverse drive 4, 5 for horizontal movement into the lifting grid R2. The tracks 40, 41, and 42 are designed as rails. The parking platforms 11, 12, 13 have a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction in the horizontal, whereby the longitudinal direction is greater than the transverse direction and the horizontal movement between the parking grids R1, R2 occurs in the transverse direction.
[0052] In Fig. 4, a dividing line in track 40 indicates that tracks 40, 41, 42 are designed to be openable in the parking grids R1, R2 configured as a lifting grid R2. Specifically, they are openable in such a way that they are movably mounted such that they can be moved from the vertical projection of a parking platform 11, 12, 13 moving vertically through the lifting grid R2. An actuator is provided for opening the track. The parking platform 11, 12, 13 should first be raised from the tracks 40, 41, 42 in the lifting grid R2 using the vertical drive 2 before the tracks 40, 41, 42 are opened.
[0053] As can be seen in particular from Fig. 4, drivers 50 are formed between the transverse drive 4 of a parking level E1 and the parking platform 11 in this parking level E1, to which the parking platform 11 is coupled for horizontal movement. The drivers 50 are seated on a driver carriage 51 that is mounted for horizontal movement and driven by the transverse drive 4. The driver carriage 51 has a horizontally extending rack 52 that is displaceably driven by a drive pinion 9 of the transverse drive 4. In this way, the drivers 50, the driver carriage 51 and the parking platform 11 are displaced horizontally together with the drive pinion 9. The transverse drive 4 is designed such that the parking platform 11 in the parking level E1 is driven for displacement by only a single parking grid R1, R2.
[0054] The vertical drive 2 has two drive motors in the lifting grid R2, which are arranged longitudinally at the front and rear ends of the lifting grid R2 and above the parking levels E1, E2, and E3. The transverse grid R1 houses all the sensors and actuators for moving the parking platforms 11, 12, and 13 horizontally. The lifting grid R2 houses all the sensors and actuators for moving the parking platforms 11, 12, and 13 vertically.
[0055] The parking platforms 11, 12, 13 have coupling means 60, in particular suspension points, to which the vertical drive 2 couples in the lifting grid R2 for vertical transport. For this purpose, the vertical drive 2 in the lifting grid R2 has four revolving cables or chains 61 (see Figs. 2 and 3), each of which in turn has a driver 62 for one of four corners of one of the parking platforms 11, 12, 13. It is provided that the four revolving cables or chains 61 each have exactly one driver 62 per parking level E1, E2, E3.
[0056] The parking facility 1 has exactly enough platforms 11, 12, 13 so that one of the parking grids R1, R2, in particular the lifting grid R2, can be completely cleared of parking platforms 11, 12, 13. The parking platforms 11, 12, 13 each have a permanently assigned parking level E1, E2, E3. As a result, the vertical drive 2 must be able to support a maximum of one parking platform 11, 12, 13 at a time. A specific vehicle can be assigned to each parking platform 11, 12, 13, and the respective parking platform 11, 12, 13 can have wheel stops customized for this vehicle.
[0057] Fig. 5 shows a sketch of a parking facility 1 in a side view with two rows of parking spaces Z1, Z2 in a building shell. The first row of parking spaces Z1 can be designed as in Figs. 1 to 4. Behind it, with the exception of an additional parking level E4, there is a corresponding second row of parking spaces Z2. The lifting grids and cross grids are therefore arranged in the two consecutive rows of parking spaces Z1, Z2. One of the parking platforms 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 of the front row of parking spaces Z1 is a drive-over platform 12, over which a vehicle can be driven from the entry level shown (here the parking level E3) into the rear row of parking spaces Z2 and vice versa. The drive-over platform is not approved as a parking space.
[0058] The lifting grid visible in the side view features an openable gate 70 at the entry level (parking level E3). In contrast, the parking platforms positioned in the cross grid at the entry level are not accessible by vehicle. No corresponding openable gate is provided there, but rather a structural barrier.
[0059] Fig. 6a and 7a show an identical initial situation of parking platforms 11-30 in a parking facility 1 with five parking levels E1, E2, E3, E4, E5 and five parking grids R1, R2, R3, R4, R5. Three of the parking grids R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are transverse grids R1, R3, R5 and two lifting grids R2, R4. The transverse grids R1, R3, R5 and lifting grids R2, R4 are arranged alternately next to one another. Between two lifting grids R2, R4 there is always exactly one transverse grid R1, R3, R5 arranged, and conversely between two transverse grids R1, R3, R5 there is always exactly one lifting grid R2, R4 arranged. The number of parking platforms 11-30 comprises exactly one empty space per parking level E1, E2, E3, E4, E5. The two lifting grids R2, R4 each have a vertical drive 2, 3. In addition, a transverse drive 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 is provided in each parking level E1, E2, E3, E4, E5. Furthermore, these three transverse grids R1, R3, R5 and two lifting grids R2, R4 can be configured according to the descriptions of Figs. 1 to 4.
[0060] The initial situation in Figs. 6a and 7a assumes that the lifting grid R2 is free of parking platforms 11-30. The transverse grids R1, R3, R5, and the further lifting grid R4 are occupied by parking platforms 11-30.
[0061] The following method can now be carried out according to Fig. 6a, 6b, 6c: a) Request the parking platform 16 in the parking level E3 of the lifting grid R2; b) Check whether the lifting grid R2 is free of the other parking platforms (11-30 except 16), which is the case, so that no clearing is required; c) after step b) or simultaneously with step b): Check whether the requested parking platform 16 is already in the lifting grid R2, which is not the case, and move the requested parking platform 16 from the adjacent transverse grid R3 into the lifting grid R2 as shown in Fig. 6b; and d) checking whether the requested parking platform 16 is already located in the parking level E3 in the lifting grid R2 in which the requested parking platform 16 is requested, which is not the case, and moving the requested parking platform 16 vertically in the lifting grid R2 towards the parking level E3 in which the requested parking platform 16 is requested, as shown in Fig. 6c.
[0062] As can be seen in Fig. 6b, the parking platform 17 moves horizontally with the horizontal movement of the parking platform 16. The two adjacent parking platforms 16, 17 are driven by the transverse drive 5 in a motion-coupled manner.
[0063] As soon as parking platform 16 is located at parking level E3 in the lifting grid R2, access to the requested parking platform 16 can be granted. As long as access is granted, no movement of parking platforms 11-30 or their drives occurs. After successful granting, access to the requested parking platform 16 can be blocked again. It is then checked and determined that parking platform 16 is not located at its original parking level E2, and it moves back to this parking level E2. A new request for another platform 11-30 can be made before or after this.
[0064] Unlike in Fig. 6a, 6b, 6c, in the initial situation of Fig. 7a the parking platform 30 in the parking level E3 of the lifting grid R4 is requested and the method runs as follows: b) Check whether the lifting grid R4 is free of the other parking platforms 11-29, and because this is not the case in Fig. 7a, clearing the entire lifting grid R4 from the other parking platforms 11-29, namely the platforms 13, 17, 21, 25, 29, by horizontally moving these parking platforms 13, 17, 21, 25, 29 from the lifting grid R4 into the adjacent transverse grid R3; Because the transverse grid R3 is occupied by the parking platforms 12, 16, 20, 24 in the initial situation of Fig. 7a, these are moved horizontally into the lifting grid R2. This is also due to the fact that the parking platforms 12-13, 16-17, 20-21, 24-25, 28-29 are each horizontally driven in a motion-coupled manner; c) As can be seen in Fig.7b, simultaneously with step b) (or shortly thereafter): a check can be carried out to determine whether the requested parking platform 30 is already located in the lifting grid R4, and since this is not yet the case in Fig. 7a, the requested parking platform 30 can be moved from the adjacent transverse grid R5 into the lifting grid R4; and d) Since the requested parking platform 30 is then not yet located in the parking level E3 in which the requested parking platform 30 is requested, the requested parking platform 30 is moved vertically in the lifting grid R4 towards the parking level E3 in which the requested parking platform 30 is requested. This target position is shown in Fig. 7c.
[0065] The invention is not limited to one of the embodiments described above, but can be modified in many ways.
[0066] All features and advantages arising from the claims, the description and the drawings, including design details, spatial arrangements and method steps, can be essential to the invention both individually and in a wide variety of combinations.
