Abstract
Description
Field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a support platform for mop buckets, which permits convenient transport of the mop bucket and, when in use, is sufficiently stable to prevent accidental tipping. Background of the invention
[0002] In the field of household cleaning products, mop buckets play a crucial role in facilitating the task of cleaning floors and surfaces. However, conventional designs have certain drawbacks, especially in terms of transport and stability during use.
[0003] Historically, mop buckets have been designed without wheels, which significantly limits their portability. This lack of mobility makes it difficult for the user to move the bucket from one place to another, especially in large spaces or in situations where the bucket needs to be taken to different areas of the house or workplace.
[0004] Additionally, the incorporation of wheels in some designs to improve mobility has proven to be a suboptimal solution. The inclusion of wheels presents the risk of tipping over during use, which can result in water and detergent spills, increasing the risk of accidents and damage to the surrounding environment.
[0005] In addition, it does not allow wringing by twisting, since when pressing and rotating to wring, the bucket rotates on itself.Disclosure of the invention
[0006] Therefore, an objective of the present invention is to provide a support platform for mop buckets that simultaneously addresses the problems of transportation, wringing and stability, providing a practical and efficient solution for users.
[0007] With the support platform for mop buckets of the invention said disadvantages are solved, presenting other advantages that will be described below.
[0008] The support platform for mop buckets in accordance with the present invention is described in claim 1, and the dependent claims include additional features that are optional.
[0009] In particular, the support platform for mop buckets comprises wheels and at least one support foot, at least one of the wheels being movable between a transport position, in which said at least one wheel protrudes with respect to said support foot, and a use position, in which said support foot protrudes with respect to said wheels.
[0010] Preferably, all wheels are movable between the transport position and the use position.
[0011] Thus, in the transport position, the platform, with the mop bucket on it, can be moved to the desired position, and in the use position, the at least one support foot blocks such movement and provides the necessary stability for using the mop bucket, for example, for wringing out a mop.
[0012] Advantageously, each wheel comprises a spring that pushes the wheel into its transport position, so that when insufficient pressure is applied to the platform, the wheels remain in the transport position by the action of the springs.
[0013] Preferably, the wheels can be conventional, swivel, fixed or spherical wheels.
[0014] The support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention may also comprise a plurality of guiding protrusions and a perimeter flange, for example, inclined, to facilitate the coupling of a mop bucket onto the support platform.
[0015] In addition, the wheels can be housed inside the guiding protrusions.
[0016] Advantageously, the at least one wheel is mounted on a rotating support, so that the wheel can also rotate about an axis perpendicular to the central axis of the wheel.
[0017] In addition, preferably, the spring and the rotating support are located inside one of the guiding protrusions, which comprises a retaining cap for retaining the rotating support and the spring inside the guiding protrusion.
[0018] The support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention also preferably comprises a cavity, which serves for stacking, and the at least one wheel movable between the transport position and the use position is preferably located inside said cavity.
[0019] On platforms that are not stackable, i.e., do not have the stacking cavity that is used to house the caster wheel, the wheels can be positioned tangentially outside the platform itself or molded into the platform itself.Brief description of the drawings
[0020] For better understanding of what has been disclosed, some drawings in which, schematically and only by way of a non-limiting example, a practical case of embodiment is shown. Figure 1 is a lower plan view of a support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention; Figure 2 is a section elevation view of the support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention; Figure 3 is a section elevation view of a support foot with a wheel of the support platform for mop buckets in accordance with the present invention; Figures 4 and 5 are bottom plan view of the support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention, according to two alternative embodiments; Figure 6 is a bottom perspective exploded view of the support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention, according to another alternative embodiment; and Figures 7 to 9 are bottom perspective views of the support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention, according to alternative embodiments in which at least one wheel is arranged displaced outwardly from the edge of the platform. Description of preferred embodiments
[0021] The present invention relates to a support platform (1) designed for mop buckets, with the aim of overcoming the drawbacks associated with lack of portability and stability and locking during use. This support platform (1) can be fully or partially foamed.
[0022] As shown in the figures, the support platform (1) comprises wheels (2), spherical or conventional, and at least one support foot (3). According to the embodiment depicted, the support platform (1) comprises four wheels (2), although it could comprise any suitable number of wheels, for example, three or more wheels.
[0023] In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the wheels (2) are movable between a transport position and a position of use. In the transport position, the wheels (2) protrude with respect to said at least one support foot (3), allowing an easy displacement of the mop bucket. Instead, in the position of use, the support foot (3) protrudes with respect to the wheels (2), providing stability during the scrubbing process.
[0024] Each wheel (2) comprises a spring (4) that facilitates automatic return to the transport position, ensuring a smooth change between the two configurations.
[0025] Additionally, the platform may incorporate guiding protrusions (5) and an inclined perimeter flange (6) to facilitate the attachment of the mop bucket, since the guiding projections (5) and the flange (6) are complementary to the bottom of said bucket.
[0026] In the embodiment shown, the wheels (2) are housed inside the guiding projections (5).
[0027] The operation is very simple, since as long as the springs (4) are not compressed, the bucket can be transported by moving it in any direction.
[0028] Once the springs (4) are compressed and the at least one support foot (3) contacts the floor, rotation and displacement of the bucket is prevented, allowing the bucket to drain with torsion without overturning the bucket itself.
[0029] As can be seen in the figures, each support foot (3) is preferably C-shaped or crescent-shaped, although it could have any suitable shape. In addition, it could also have some engravings on its surface in contact with the ground.
[0030] It should be indicated that the support platform (1) according to the present invention could also comprise a strip of a flexible material, such as rubber or the like, which contacts the ground and prevents the support platform (1) from accidentally moving if the ground is inclined.
[0031] Figures 4 and 5 show two alternative embodiments of the support platform according to the present invention, whose shapes are, respectively, circular and oval.
[0032] In figure 6 an alternately embodiment of the support platform according to the present invention is shown. For the sake of clarity, the same reference numbers are used as in the previous embodiments to identify the same or equivalent elements.
[0033] In this embodiment, there is only one wheel (2) that is movable between the transport position and the use position, and this wheel (2) is mounted on a swivel bracket (7), so that the wheel (2) can also rotate about an axis perpendicular to the central axis of the wheel (2).
[0034] Furthermore, the spring (4) and the swivel bracket (7) are located inside one of the guiding protrusions (5), which comprises a retaining cap (8) for retaining the swivel bracket (7) and the spring (4) inside the guiding protrusion (5).
[0035] In this embodiment, the support platform also comprises a cavity (10), which serves for stacking, and the at least one wheel (2) movable between the transport position and the use position is preferably located inside said cavity (10).
[0036] Figures 7 to 9 show in lower perspective different embodiments of the support platform for mop buckets according to the present invention, in which at least one wheel is arranged displaced outwardly from the edge of the platform.
[0037] In particular, Figure 7 shows a support platform (1) has an oval shape and comprises a wheel (2) located outside the outer edge of said support platform (1).
[0038] Figure 8 shows a support platform (1) having a circular shape and comprises a wheel (2) located outside the outer edge of said support platform (1), and Figure 9 shows a support platform (1) having a circular shape and comprises three wheels (2) located outside the outer edge of said support platform (1).
[0039] Although reference has been made to specific embodiments of the invention, it is apparent to a person skilled in the art that the described support platform for mop buckets is susceptible of numerous variations and modifications, and that all the details mentioned can be replaced by other technically equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection defined by the appended claims.
