[0003] The invention relates to a method for handling packaging material for wrapping products of the cigarette industry, wherein a weakening line is applied to the packaging material, in particular as an opening aid, according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0004] Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding device according to the preamble of claim 15 and one for products of the cigarette industry according to the preamble of claim 20.
[0005] EP 0 007423 A1 discloses a pack for products of the cigarette industry in which a line of weakness in the packaging material for an inner wrapper of a group of cigarettes is formed by perforations. The perforations serve to delimit a pull-off tab 49 which is used to open the wrapper. This solution has the disadvantage that the wrapper is not tight due to the perforations, so that the cigarettes can be exposed to adverse environmental influences. This technology is therefore particularly suitable for today's common sealed packs in which the wrapper tightly encloses the group of cigarettes. [0006] Based on this, the invention is based on the object of further developing known methods and devices for handling packaging material for wrapping products in the cigarette industry, as well as corresponding packages, particularly with regard to the arrangement of opening aids that do not reduce the tightness of the packaging material and / or enable good processability of the packaging material. Claims
Patent claims 1. A method for handling packaging material for a wrapper (12) of products (11) of the cigarette industry, wherein a weakening line (18) is applied to the packaging material, in particular as an opening aid, characterized in that the weakening line (18) is formed (only) by embossing the packaging material, preferably on a continuous material web (28) of the packaging material.
2. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that the packaging material has a barrier layer (25) on one side and that the weakening line (18) is applied by embossing from the side opposite the barrier layer (25) without damaging the barrier layer (25).
3. Method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a tear strip (19) is applied to the packaging material as a tear-open aid, and that the weakening line (18) is applied adjacent to the tear strip (19).
4. Method according to claim 3 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that two weakening lines (18) are applied, which are arranged on either side of the tear strip (19), or that one weakening line (18) is applied, the width of which is greater than the width of the tear strip (19), such that the edges of the weakening line (18) extend on either side of the tear strip (19).
5. Method according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the or each weakening line (18) and the tear strip (19) are applied parallel to each other and preferably have a linear course.
6. Method according to claim 5 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the or each weakening line (18) and the tear strip (19) are arranged in a small, defined section relative to one another.
7. Method according to claim 1 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that a preferably multi-actuable adhesive label (17) is attached to the packaging material for closing a removal opening, and in that the weakening line (18) is attached as a boundary of the removal opening.
8. Method according to claim 7 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that the weakening line (18) is applied in such a way that it is arranged within the contour of the adhesive label (17) and is preferably covered by it on all sides.
9. Method according to claim 1 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that a continuous material web (28) of the packaging material is drawn off a reel (29) and transported along a conveyor path (31), wherein a plurality of stations (34, 35, 45) for processing the material web (28) are arranged along the conveyor path (31), wherein a web advance unit (30, 42, 46) is provided downstream of each of these processing stations, with which the material web (28) is transported.
10. Method according to claim 1 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that a continuous material web (28) of the packaging material is drawn off a reel (29) and transported along a conveyor line (31), wherein a plurality of stations (34, 35, 45) for processing the material web (28) are arranged along the conveyor line (31), wherein the control of the processing of the material web (28) takes place either in accordance with print marks applied to the material web (28) or in accordance with tear strips (19) applied to the material web (28).
11. Method according to claim 1 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that a continuous material web (28) of the packaging material is pulled off a reel (29) and transported along a conveyor line (31), wherein several stations (34, 35, 45) for processing the material web (28) are arranged along the conveyor line (31), wherein the material web (28) is provided on one side with an adhesive (44) in a glue application station (45) along the conveyor line (31), and wherein a web advance unit (30, 42, 46) following the glue application station (45), the material web (28) provided with adhesive (44) is transported by means of a suction roller (48), on which the material web (28) is held by means of negative pressure with the side opposite the adhesive (44).
12. Method according to claim 3 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that in addition to the tear strip (19), edge-side incisions (54) are made in the packaging material, which run parallel to the longitudinal direction of the tear strip (19) and which are preferably arranged on both sides of a gripping tip (21) of the tear strip (19).
13. Method according to claim 1 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that in addition to the weakening line (18), additional weakening lines (53) are applied to the packaging material by embossing to form fold lines.
14. Method according to claim 1 or one of the other preceding claims, characterized in that a continuous material web (28) of the packaging material is drawn off from a reel (29) and transported along a conveyor line (31), wherein a plurality of stations (34, 35, 45) for processing the material web (28) are arranged along the conveyor line (31), and wherein blanks for a wrapper (12) of one or more products of the cigarette industry are severed from the continuous material web (28) by means of a knife roller, wherein the knife roller is positively controlled with an embossing roller (36) for applying the weakening lines (18).
15. Device for handling packaging material for a wrapper (12) of products (11) of the cigarette industry, with an embossing device (35) for embossing the packaging material, in particular for carrying out the method according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that (exclusively) the embossing device (35) is used to apply a weakening line (18) to the packaging material.
16. Device according to claim 15, characterized in that the packaging material is fed as a continuous material web (28) from a reel (29) peelable and transportable along a conveyor path (31) of the device, wherein a station (34) for applying tear strips (19) to the material web (28) is arranged along the conveyor path (31), and that downstream of the station (34) for applying the tear strips (19) an embossing station (35) with the embossing device (35) for applying weakening lines (18) is arranged.
17. Device according to claim 16, characterized in that downstream of the embossing station (35) there is a glue application station (45) in which the material web (28) is provided with adhesive (44), in particular by means of a slot die (43), and that the material web (28) can then be guided through a suction box (47), wherein the material web (28) in the region of the suction box (47) rests against suction rollers (48) which hold and transport the material web (28) by means of negative pressure on the side opposite the adhesive (44).
18. Device according to claim 15 or one of the other preceding claims 16 or 17, characterized in that downstream of stations (34, 35, 45) for processing the material web (28), in particular the station (34) for applying tear strips (19), the embossing station (35) and the glue application station (45), a web advance unit (30, 42, 46) is arranged in each case for transporting the processed material web (28) in the conveying direction.
19. Device according to claim 15 or one of the other preceding claims 16 to 18, characterized in that downstream of the embossing station (35) in a separating station by means of a knife roller, blanks for a wrapper (12) of one or more products of the cigarette industry can be separated from the continuous material web (28), wherein the knife roller is positively controlled with an embossing roller for applying the weakening lines (18).
20. Pack for products of the cigarette industry, wherein one or more products are preferably directly surrounded at least partially by a wrapper (12) made of a packaging material, in particular produced in a method according to one or more of the preceding claims 1 to 14, characterized by a weakening line (18) formed (only) by embossing the packaging material, in particular as an opening aid.
21. Pack according to claim 20, characterized in that the packaging material has a one-sided coating as a barrier layer (25), wherein the line of weakness (18) is formed starting from the side of the packaging material opposite the barrier layer (25) in such a way that the barrier layer (25) is not impaired by the embossing.
22. Pack according to claim 20 or 21, characterized in that the wrapping (12) has a tear-open strip (19) as a tear-open aid and that the weakening line (18) is arranged adjacent to the tear-open strip (19).
23. Pack according to claim 22, characterized in that two lines of weakness (18) are applied, which are arranged on both sides of the tear strip (19), or that one line of weakness (18) is applied, the width of which is greater than the width of the tear strip (19), such that the edges of the line of weakness (18) extend on both sides of the tear strip (19).
24. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 23, characterized in that the or each weakening line (18) and the tear strip (19) are arranged parallel to one another and preferably have a linear course.
25. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 24, characterized in that the or each weakening line (18) and the tear strip (19) are arranged in a small, defined section relative to one another.
26. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 25, characterized in that the wrapping (12) has a preferably multiply operable adhesive label (17) for closing a removal opening, and in that the weakening line (18) is arranged as a boundary of the removal opening.
27. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 26, characterized in that the weakening line (18) is arranged such that it is located within the contour of the adhesive label (17) and is preferably covered by it on all sides.
28. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 27, characterized in that the wrapping (12) in addition to the tear strip (19) also has edge-side incisions (54) in the packaging material, which run parallel to the longitudinal direction of the tear strip (19) and which are preferably arranged on both sides of a gripping tip of the tear strip (19).
29. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 28, characterized in that the wrapping (12) has, in addition to the weakening line (18), additional weakening lines (53) formed by embossing for forming fold lines on the packaging material.
30. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 29, characterized in that the packaging material consists of paper or substantially of paper and is provided on one side with a coating as a barrier layer (25).
31. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 30, characterized in that the tear strip (19) is arranged circumferentially on the wrapping (12) in such a way that a cap-like section of the wrapping (12) can be separated from the rest of the wrapping (12) by means of the tear strip (19).
32. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 31, characterized in that the cap-like section contains the material of the wrapping (12) in the region of a narrow side of the pack as well as edge-side sections of the wrapping (12) in the region of a front side, an end side, a back side and a bottom side of the wrapping (12) adjacent to the narrow side.
33. Pack according to one of the preceding claims 20 to 32, characterized in that the pack (10) is a bundle pack (26), and that packs (10) for products of the cigarette industry are wrapped in the wrapping (12), which are arranged in an ordered formation, in particular as a so-called cigarette rod, wherein the weakening line (18) runs in the area between adjacent packs (10), preferably circumferentially around the bundle pack (26).
