Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a drainage device with an odor trap having a housing that can be fixed to a drain opening of a sanitary tub and an insert that is detachably fixed to the housing, wherein an inlet channel to a lower deflection is formed between the housing and the insert and at least one retaining wall is arranged in the housing, which retains dirty water from the lower deflection up to an overflow edge on the at least one retaining wall, wherein dirty water flows from the overflow edge into a drainage channel in the housing that is connected to a drain nozzle connected to the housing, and to a sanitary installation having such a drainage device.
[0002] DE 10 2009 023 015 B4 discloses a drain for sanitary facilities in which a pot-shaped housing is connected to the drain opening of a sanitary tub. A circular-cylindrical retaining wall is arranged in the housing, so that wastewater is retained at the retaining wall and flows at an overflow edge into an annular drainage collection channel. The annular drainage collection channel is connected to a connection piece of the housing. Such a drain has the disadvantage of being relatively high, and the drainage capacity is limited due to the numerous deflections and the small flow cross-sections. The cylindrical design of the retaining wall creates numerous turbulences, which reduces the flow velocity.
[0003] Furthermore, DE 10 2013 105 542 A1 discloses a channel drain that extends essentially across the entire width of a shower area and features a channel cover. Wastewater flows from a channel module to a central odor trap.
[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a drainage device which enables improved drainage of the dirty water and is of compact design.
[0005] This object is achieved with a drainage device having the features of claim 1.
[0006] The drainage device according to the invention with an odor trap comprises a housing that can be fixed to a drain opening of a sanitary bathtub and an insert that is detachably fixed in the housing. An inlet channel to a lower deflector is formed between the housing and the insert, and at least one retaining wall is arranged in the housing, which retains dirty water from the lower deflector up to an overflow edge on the at least one retaining wall. The dirty water can then flow from the overflow edge into a drainage channel in the housing, which is connected to a drain nozzle connected to the housing. According to the invention, two essentially parallel overflow edges are provided, and the dirty water flows from the two overflow edges into a common drainage channel. The two essentially parallel overflow edges can be arranged in a slightly wedge-shaped manner when viewed from above, for example at an angle of less than 10°, in particular less than 5°, and optionally also slightly curved. The overflow edges do not need to be exactly parallel. By arranging two essentially parallel overflow edges, wastewater can be drained away via defined flow cross-sections, so that this water flow reduces turbulence. During use, wastewater flows over the two parallel overflow edges, with the flow cross-section being strip-shaped or ribbon-shaped when overflowing over the overflow edge and remaining essentially constant, thus ensuring optimized flow conditions.
[0007] Preferably, the drainage channel behind the overflow edge has a rectangular cross-section. A long side of the cross-section can be at least twice as long as a narrow side, so that the installation space in the preferably pot-shaped housing, in particular one with a cylindrical outer wall, is utilized and the proportion of flow-calmed areas is reduced. The flow cross-section in the drainage channel can be approximately twice as large as the flow cross-section in the two retaining channels upstream of the overflow edge.
[0008] The insert is preferably hood-shaped. The insert can be inserted into the housing from above, allowing it to be easily removed from above for cleaning purposes. The insert can be arranged with two wall sections spaced from two walls around the drain channel, and with two additional wall sections adjacent to two walls around the drain channel. The insert has a rectangular cross-section, at least in some areas.
[0009] Preferably, two spaced-apart baffles are arranged in the housing, which are aligned essentially vertically and parallel and each have an overflow edge on their upper side. The two baffles are preferably connected to one another via two walls to form the drainage channel and surround a drainage channel that is preferably rectangular in cross-section. The insert can rest against these two walls at least in part, preferably rest flatly, so that when the insert is inserted, the two walls are used for guidance. For this purpose, profiles such as grooves or tongues can also be provided on the walls or the insert to enable the insert to be fixed in a precise position.
[0010] For a compact design, two retention channels are preferably formed in the housing, with each retention channel being located between a wall of the insert and the retention wall. Each retention channel can have a rectangular cross-section, so that the wastewater is guided in a band-like manner. The respective retention wall can be formed integrally with the housing; for example, the retention wall can protrude upward from a bottom of the housing.
[0011] The insert preferably has two curved sections on its upper side, which are connected to each other at a central recess. Due to the curved design, a cross-section across the overflow edge can remain essentially constant, allowing dirty water to flow in an arc between the curved sections of the insert and the overflow edge.
[0012] Each overflow edge is preferably rounded and has a radius of curvature between 2 mm and 6 mm. The rounding of the overflow edge can be provided, for example, by a bead that is thicker than the dam wall. Optionally, the rounding can be formed by an attachment on the dam wall or integrally with the dam wall. Preferably, a rounding can also be provided in the region of the lower deflection between the inlet channel and the dam channel, which is formed, for example, on a lower edge of the insert and preferably has a radius between 1.5 mm and 8 mm, in particular 2 mm to 6 mm.
[0013] Preferably, at least one overflow edge is provided with a hydrophilic surface, at least in part. Such a hydrophilic surface has a contact angle with water of less than 90°, in particular less than 30° or less than 15°. This can reduce or eliminate the protrusion of a water column caused by the surface tension of the wastewater. The hydrophilic surface can be provided over the entire length of the at least one overflow edge. The hydrophilic surface can be provided, for example, by plasma treatment or by a coating with a hydrophilic material.
[0014] In a further embodiment, at least two outlet nozzles are connected to the drainage channel. This can increase drainage capacity. The drainage channel extending downwards from the overflow edge can be split and branched off with a tubular section on either side. Optionally, these two tubular sections can be reconnected, for example, in an area around the annular inlet channel.
[0015] The drainage channel preferably has a right-angled deflection from the overflow edge to the drain nozzle. The drainage channel can initially be guided vertically downwards from the overflow edge and, in the lower area, exits the housing essentially horizontally to the drain nozzle. The drainage channel can be guided through an annular inlet channel in the housing. The cross-section of the drainage channel can decrease, preferably continuously, for example by at least 10%. This accelerates the dirty water as it flows through the drainage channel and can exert a suction effect on the dirty water at the overflow edge, which increases the drainage capacity.
[0016] The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a drainage device according to the invention; Figures 2A to 2C show several views of the drainage device of the Figure 1 ; Figure 3 a sectional view through the drainage device of the Figure 1 ; Figure 4 a sectional view through the drainage device of the Figure 1 in an installed position; Figure 5 shows a further sectional view through the drainage device of the Figure 4 , and Figure 6 shows a further sectional view through a modified drainage device similar to Figure 5 .
[0017] A drainage device 1 comprises a pot-shaped housing 2, which can be fixed to a sanitary basin, for example a shower tray, a bathtub, or a washbasin, via a clamping ring 5. A hood-shaped insert 3 is arranged on the housing 2 to form a flow channel for dirty water from the sanitary basin. An annular inlet channel 4 is formed between the insert 3 and the housing 2, which is preferably circular on the outer circumference, and a drain nozzle 6 is provided on a side wall of the housing 2, which serves to drain the dirty water from the inlet channel 4. A radially projecting flange 7 is provided on the housing 2.
[0018] By Figures 2A to 2C The drainage device 1 is shown in an assembled position. The insert 3 is inserted into the housing 2 from above and surrounded by the annular inlet channel 4. The housing 2 and the insert 3 can be made of plastic.
[0019] In Figure 3 the drainage device 1 is shown in section. The pot-shaped housing 2 contains the insert 3, which comprises two walls 15 that are arranged at a distance from a baffle wall 9. As a result, two baffle channels 11 are formed in the housing 2, each having a substantially rectangular cross-section that is at least twice as long as it is wide, so that the available interior space in the housing 2 can be optimally used. The two baffle walls 9 form a drainage channel 12 between them and are connected to one another at the end via a wall 13. A wall 19 of the hood-shaped insert 3 rests against this wall 13, with the wall 19 optionally having a profile, such as a groove, to enable exact positioning when pushed onto the wall 13. On the side opposite the wall 13, two angled webs are formed, which optionally rest against the baffle wall 9 via a seal.
[0020] In Figure 4 The drainage device 1 is shown in section in an assembled position. A sanitary tub 20, for example a shower tray, comprises a drain opening 22 at an annular recess 21, into which the drainage device 1 is inserted. The clamping ring 5 engages over the recess 21 and is screwed into a thread on the housing 2. This allows an annular seal 8 on the flange 7 to be pressed against an underside of the recess 21, so that the housing 2 is sealed off from the sanitary tub 20.
[0021] Dirty water flowing into the drain opening 22 is led into the annular inlet channel 4 up to a lower deflection which runs around a downwardly projecting wall 15 of the insert 3 as indicated by the arrow. The dirty water thereby reaches a retention channel 11 and flows from bottom to top. The retention wall 9 is formed integrally with a base 25 of the housing 2, but can also be fixed to the base 25 via fastening means. The dirty water is dammed up to an overflow edge 10 of the retention wall 9, so that the dirty water flows via an upper deflection into the drain channel 12. The upper deflection is limited by an arc-shaped section 16 which is arranged around the overflow edge 10.The flow cross-section of the retention channel 11 is essentially constant in the area of the diversion, and the two curved sections 16 are connected to each other at a recess 17 and thus both flow into the discharge channel 12, which has approximately twice the cross-section of one of the two retention channels 11. The wastewater is deflected in the discharge channel 12 essentially at a right angle into a section 18, which passes through the annular inlet channel 4 and flows into the discharge nozzle 6. The discharge nozzle 6 has a larger flow cross-section than section 18.
[0022] In the area of the deflections, the respective overflow edge 10 is preferably rounded, for example, with a radius of curvature between 2 mm and 6 mm, to prevent flow separation when the dirty water flows away. A corresponding rounding can also be formed on the downwardly projecting wall 15 of the insert 3.
[0023] In Figure 5 The drainage device 1 is shown in a further sectional view through the drain nozzle 6, and it can be seen that the section 18 has a lower height than the drain nozzle 6, for example, the section 18 can have a height between 15 mm and 35 mm, while the drain nozzle has a diameter of 50 mm. The insert 3 rests with a wall 19 against the wall 13, and on the opposite side, a wall is in contact with the wall 14 above the section 18. As a result, the two storage channels 11 are rectangular in cross-section, as shown in Figure 3 is shown. With the drainage device 1, a drainage capacity of between 24 l / min and 40 l / min can be achieved with a low installation height of between 45 mm and 65 mm below the recess 21.
[0024] In Figure 6 a modified drainage device 1 is shown in which the drainage channel 12 has a different shape than in Figure 5The drainage channel 12 has an arcuate outer surface 23, in particular with a parabolic shape, and an arcuate inner surface 24, optionally also with a parabolic shape. The arcuate outer surface 23 and the arcuate inner surface 24 can be arranged between the two retaining walls 9. Preferably, the cross-section decreases from the overflow edge 10 to the section 18 and the drain nozzle 6; in particular, a continuous taper of the cross-section can occur. As a result, the dirty water is accelerated as it flows through the modified drainage channel 12 and can exert a suction effect on the dirty water still located at the overflow edge 10. The flow cross-section of the drainage channel 12 then expands at the drain nozzle 6.
[0025] To produce the arcuate outer surface 23, the bottom 25 of the housing 2 can have an opening or the outer surface 23 can be produced by an additional component.
[0026] The two overflow edges 10 are preferably provided with a hydrophilic surface, at least in some areas, for example, by plasma treatment or by coating with a hydrophilic material. This allows the water column above the overflow edge 10 to be reduced as wastewater flows off. List of reference symbols
