Description

[0001] The invention relates to a hinge for a device, in particular for a household appliance or a piece of furniture. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device, in particular a household appliance or a device, comprising at least one such hinge.

[0002] Devices such as household appliances and furniture with hinges are already well known in the general art. Each device has a body which includes, for example, a receiving chamber, also referred to as a receiving area. This receiving chamber could be, for example, a baking tray, in which case the device is designed as an oven. The receiving chamber could be a cooking chamber in which food can be cooked. In particular, if the device is designed as a dishwasher, for example, the receiving chamber could be a treatment chamber for washing or rinsing dishes. The device further comprises a door, also referred to as a flap, which is pivotally connected to the respective device body via at least one hinge, usually via at least or exactly two hinges, and is thereby held on the respective device body in a pivotable manner relative to the respective device body.

[0003] EP 3 061 383 A1 discloses a household appliance with a hinge. EP 0 692 598 A1 discloses a hinge for a household appliance.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide a hinge for a device such as a household appliance or a piece of furniture, and a device with at least one such hinge, so that a particularly advantageous actuation of a door of the device can be realized.

[0005] This problem is solved according to the invention by a hinge having the features of claim 1 and by a device having the features of claim 14. Advantageous embodiments with expedient further developments of the invention are specified in the remaining claims.

[0006] A first aspect of the invention relates to a hinge for a device. This means that the device, in its fully manufactured state, includes the hinge. In particular, the device, in its fully manufactured state, has a device body, also referred to simply as the base body or body, which may, for example, have a receiving area, also referred to as the receiving area. Furthermore, the device, in its fully manufactured state, has, for example, a door, also referred to as a flap, which is pivotally connected to the device body by means of the hinge. Thus, the door is pivotally held on the device body by means of the hinge so that it can pivot relative to the device body. In other words, the door can pivot relative to the device body while being held on the device body by means of the hinge. For example, the door can be pivoted relative to the device body between at least one open position and one closed position by means of the hinge. In particular, it is conceivable that the receiving space has an opening, especially one designed as a through-opening, which opens, for example, on one side into the receiving space and on the other side to the surroundings of the device body itself, that is, considered on its own. In the closed position, for example, at least a portion of the opening, and thus of the receiving space, is closed off by the door, particularly from the surroundings. It is also conceivable that, in the closed position, the entire opening, and thus the entire receiving space, is covered and closed off by the door, particularly from the surroundings. In the open position, the door at least partially exposes the area, allowing, for example, at least one object from the surroundings to be moved into or out of the receiving chamber. This is particularly relevant when the device is designed as a dishwasher, also referred to as a dishwasher, in which case the receiving chamber is a treatment chamber for washing dishes. Thus, in the open position, dishes from the surroundings can be moved into the receiving chamber via the exposed area for washing. Specifically, after a washing cycle, washed dishes can be removed from the receiving chamber via the exposed area.

[0007] To enable particularly advantageous door operation, that is, to allow the door to be pivoted manually relative to the hinge body, especially between the closed and open positions, in a particularly advantageous and convenient manner, the hinge has a base element, also referred to as a support element. For example, the base element can be designed as a base plate. Alternatively, the base element can be designed separately from the hinge body, with the base element being attached to the hinge body, in particular in such a way that relative movement between the base element and the hinge body is prevented. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the base element is an integral part of the hinge body, in particular a wall, and especially a side wall of the hinge body. The hinge further comprises a hinge arm which is pivotably connected to the base element about a first pivot axis relative to the base element. Thus, the hinge arm can pivot about the first pivot axis relative to the base element while being held against the base element, i.e., connected to it. In particular, the base element can be connected, at least indirectly, and especially directly, to the device body or to a component of the device body. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the hinge arm can be connected to the door or to a component of the door. In particular, the hinge arm can be designed separately from the door and connected to the door or the door component, or the hinge arm can be an integral part of the door, such that, for example, in the fully manufactured state of the device, the hinge arm is connected to the aforementioned door component. The hinge further comprises a transmission element which is rotatably mounted on the base element about an axis of rotation relative to the base element. This means that the transmission element can be rotated about the axis of rotation relative to the base element while being held on, i.e., connected to, the base element. In particular, it is conceivable that the axis of rotation is spaced apart from the first pivot axis. For example, the first pivot axis and the axis of rotation run parallel to each other. The transmission element can be designed as a disk, which is also referred to as a pivot disk or deflection disk. The transmission element is also called a deflection element.

[0008] The hinge also includes a spring, which is also referred to as a spring element. Preferably, the spring is a mechanical spring, and therefore preferably designed as a solid. In particular, the spring can be a helical spring. Furthermore, the hinge includes an actuating element, which is coupled to the spring. The actuating element is also pivotally coupled to the transmission element. The base element includes a guide, which is also referred to as the first guide. When the term "guide" is used before and after, it refers, unless otherwise specified, to the first guide of the base element. The actuating element is guided and displaceable along the first guide of the base element. This means that the actuating element can be moved along the guide and thus relative to the base element. If the actuating element is moved along the first guide of the base element and thus relative to the base element, the actuating element is guided by the first guide of the base element during this movement, particularly relative to the base element. In particular, the first guide is, or defines, for example, a first path of movement or a first guide path along which the actuating element can be moved relative to the base element. Thus, for example, the first guide defines a first direction of movement, corresponding in particular to the first path of movement or the first guide path, along which the actuating element can be moved relative to the base element. It is preferably provided that the first path of movement or the first guide path, and thus, for example, the first direction of movement, is straight or rectilinear, that is, runs along a first straight line. Thus, for example, the first guide, that is, the first path of movement or the first guide path, extends in a straight line along the first straight section. It is preferably provided that, in the installed position of the hinge, the first guide, and thus the first path of movement or the first guide path, and thus, for example, the first direction of movement, runs in a vertical direction. The hinge assumes its installed position when the device containing the hinge is fully manufactured and when the device is in its intended operating position. For example, in its operating position, the device rests on a plane that is at least substantially horizontal.Furthermore, it is conceivable that the first guide and thus, for example, the first path of movement or the first guide path and thus the first direction of movement, and in particular the first straight line, runs obliquely to the vertical direction and obliquely to the horizontal direction in the installation position of the hinge.

[0009] Since the actuating element is coupled to the spring and can be displaced along the first guide of the base element, and thus relative to the base element, the spring is tensioned and relaxed by moving the actuating element along the first guide and thus relative to the base element. In other words, if the actuating element is moved back and forth along the first guide and relative to the base element, the spring is thereby tensioned and relaxed, particularly alternately. Put another way, if, for example, the actuating element is moved in a first direction along the first guide relative to the base element, the spring is tensioned. If, for example, the actuating element is then moved in a second direction opposite to the first along the first guide relative to the base element, the spring is thereby at least partially relaxed. For example, the spring is designed as a tension spring, which, for instance, is guided when the actuating element is pushed along the first guide in the first direction, meaning its length increases and it is thereby tensioned. If, for example, the actuating element is then pushed in the second direction along the first guide, the spring is thereby shortened, meaning its length decreases and it is at least partially relaxed.

[0010] The hinge also features a lever element which is pivotably connected to the transmission element about a second pivot axis relative to the transmission element. Preferably, the second pivot axis is spaced apart from the first pivot axis and the axis of rotation, and most preferably, the second pivot axis is parallel to the first pivot axis and parallel to the axis of rotation. Furthermore, the lever element is pivotably connected to the hinge arm about a third pivot axis relative to the hinge arm. Preferably, the third pivot axis is spaced apart from the first pivot axis, the axis of rotation, and the second pivot axis. Preferably, the third pivot axis is parallel to the first pivot axis, parallel to the second pivot axis, and parallel to the axis of rotation. Thus, by pivoting the hinge arm around the first pivot axis and relative to the base element, the transmission element can be driven by the hinge arm via the lever element and thereby rotated around the axis of rotation relative to the base element. This allows the actuating element to be driven by the transmission element and thus moved along the guide relative to the base element, tensioning and releasing the spring. In other words, if, for example, the hinge arm is pivoted or turned around the first pivot axis in a first pivot direction relative to the base element, the transmission element is driven via the lever element and thereby rotated around the axis of rotation in a first direction relative to the base element. The first pivot direction and the first direction of rotation can, for example, be the same in a plane of motion perpendicular to both the first pivot axis and the axis of rotation.By rotating the transmission element around its axis of rotation in the first direction relative to the base element, the actuating element is driven by the transmission element and thus, for example, moved along the guide in the first direction relative to the base element. This tensions the spring. If, for example, the hinge arm, also referred to as a pivot arm, is then pivoted or turned around its first pivot axis in a second pivot direction relative to the base element, opposite to the first pivot direction, the transmission element is driven by the hinge arm via the lever element and thus rotated around its axis of rotation in a second pivot direction relative to the base element, opposite to the first. For example, the second pivot direction and the second direction of rotation are, in particular, in the same direction with respect to the plane of motion, that is, in the plane of motion.By rotating the transmission element around its axis of rotation in the second direction relative to the base element, the actuating element is driven by the transmission element and thereby moved along the first guide in the second direction relative to the base element. This, for example, at least partially relaxes the spring. Specifically, the tensioning and relaxation of the spring means the following: For example, the actuating element can be moved along the first guide relative to the base element between at least one first actuation position and at least one second actuation position. For example, the actuating element can be moved from the first actuation position to the second actuation position by being moved or pushed along the first guide in the first direction. Thus, for example, the actuating element can be moved from the second actuation position to the first actuation position while being shifted or pushed along the first guide in the second direction. In the second actuation position, the spring is under greater tension compared to the first actuation position, meaning it is more compressed. Conversely, the spring is less compressed in the first actuation position compared to the second. In the first actuation position, the spring may be completely relaxed, or it may be compressed, but less so than in the second actuation position. Thus, the spring provides a spring force, at least in the second actuation position, which acts, for example, via the actuating element, the transmission element, and the lever element on the hinge arm and, for example, via the hinge arm on the door of the device. Therefore, the hinge arm can be pivoted or turned about the first pivot axis in the first pivot direction relative to the base element against the spring force. For example, the hinge arm can be turned or turned about the first pivot axis relative to the base element between at least one first pivot position and at least one second pivot position. For example, the hinge arm can be turned or turned from the first pivot position to the second pivot position by turning or turning the hinge arm about the first pivot axis relative to the base element in the first pivot direction. Thus, for example, the hinge arm can be pivoted or turned from the second pivot position to the first pivot position by pivoting the hinge arm around the first pivot axis relative to the base element in the second pivot direction. If, for example, the hinge arm is in the first pivot position, the actuating element is in the first actuating position. If, for example, the hinge arm is in the second pivot position, the actuating element is in the second actuating position. This means that the first pivot position of the hinge arm coincides with the first actuating position of the actuating element, and the second pivot position of the hinge arm coincides with the second actuating position of the actuating element. In particular, it is preferably provided that the first pivot position of the hinge arm corresponds to or coincides with the closed position of the door. In other words, it is preferably provided that the first pivot position of the hinge arm causes the door to close, and vice versa. Thus, it is preferably provided that the second pivot position of the hinge arm corresponds to or coincides with the open position of the door, so that preferably the second pivot position of the hinge arm causes the door to open, and vice versa. This means, in particular, that the door can be opened, i.e., pivoted or turned from the closed position to the open position, especially relative to the device body and the base element, by pivoting the hinge arm from the first pivot position to the second pivot position. Thus, for example, the door can be closed, that is, pivoted or turned from the open position to the closed position relative to the device body and the base element, by pivoting or turning the hinge arm from the second pivot position to the first pivot position around the first pivot axis relative to the base element. In other words, if the door is opened, the hinge arm is pivoted around the first pivot axis relative to the base element in the first pivot direction and thus moved or turned from the first pivot position to the second pivot position. If the door is then closed, the hinge arm is pivoted or turned around the first pivot axis relative to the base element in the second pivot direction and thus moved or turned from the second pivot position to the first pivot position. This means that it is preferably provided that the spring is tensioned when the door is opened, so that, for example, the spring force opposes the opening of the door. This is particularly advantageous because it prevents excessively rapid, surprising, and / or automatic opening of the door, i.e., opening caused by the weight of the door. This allows the door to be operated particularly conveniently, especially manually and thus by one person. In particular, it is possible to hold the door in equilibrium, i.e., in at least one intermediate position between the open and closed positions, by means of the spring force, so that, for example, unwanted and / or automatic opening and closing of the door from this intermediate position can be prevented.Furthermore, it is conceivable, for example, that when the door is moved from the intermediate position towards the closed position, it is pulled shut by spring force, and in particular without any human intervention, thus ensuring secure closure. Alternatively or additionally, it is conceivable that when the door is moved from the intermediate position towards the open position, it closes automatically, that is, due to its own weight and thus in particular without any human intervention, moving fully into the open position, specifically against the spring force. The spring force can then be used to prevent the door from opening too quickly and / or from slamming shut too hard in the open position. The lever element is or functions as a connecting lever via which the transmission element can be driven by the hinge arm. The transmission element can have a radius or diameter, particularly with respect to the axis of rotation, and this radius or diameter can advantageously be made large. This allows, for example, an advantageous transmission ratio, especially between the hinge arm and the spring, thus enabling efficient door operation.

[0011] The background of the invention is, in particular, that the doors of devices can have different weights, and thus also very high weights. This is usually due to the fact that each door typically has a base body and a front panel, also referred to as a furniture panel, which is attached to the base body. This allows, for example, the device to be integrated advantageously into an environment such as a kitchen, and in particular into furniture such as kitchen cabinetry. The front panels can have different weights, and can also be very heavy, depending on the material from which they are made. The hinge according to the invention can now be used particularly advantageously for doors with high weights, especially because the transmission element and the lever element, via which the transmission element is coupled to the hinge arm, allow for advantageous gear ratios between the hinge arm and the spring. This makes it possible, for example, to secure the door against excessively rapid opening and / or to move it securely into the closed position, particularly when the door is very heavy. Furthermore, the hinge according to the invention can be adapted to different door weights particularly easily and therefore quickly and cost-effectively, giving the hinge a particularly wide and thus flexible range of applications, also referred to as its operating range.

[0012] Since the actuating element is coupled to the spring, for example to one end of the spring, and since the actuating element is displaceable along the first guide, a spring guide is created by the actuating element and the first guide, by means of which the spring is to be guided, i.e., guided, especially when the spring is tensioned and relaxed.

[0013] To operate the door particularly advantageously, and especially with particular ease, i.e., to be able to pivot between the closed and open positions, one embodiment of the invention provides that the guide (first guide of the base element) extends in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Thus, for example, the plane coincides with or runs parallel to the aforementioned plane of movement.

[0014] Another embodiment is characterized by the fact that the base element has a second guide, provided in addition to the first guide. The transmission element, and with it the axis of rotation, are guided and displaceable along the second guide of the base element and thus relative to the base element. For example, the second guide defines a second path of movement or a second guide path along which the transmission element, and with it the axis of rotation, are displaceable relative to the base element. Thus, for example, the second guide defines a second direction of movement along which the transmission element and the axis of rotation are displaceable or can be displaced relative to the base element when the transmission element and the axis of rotation are moved along the second guide relative to the base element. It is preferably provided that the second path of movement or the second guide path, and thus, for example, the second direction of movement, runs in a straight line, i.e., along a second straight line. Preferably, the second straight line runs parallel to the first straight line. Thus, it is preferably provided that the second path of movement or the second guide path runs parallel to the first path of movement or the first guide path. Therefore, it is preferably provided that the second direction of movement runs parallel to the first direction of movement. Preferably, the second path of movement or the second guide path, and thus, for example, the second direction of movement, runs vertically in the installed position of the hinge, so that the second guide preferably extends vertically. In other words, it is thus provided, for example, that the second guide, in particular the second path of movement or the second guide track, extends along the second direction of movement and, for example, along the second straight line, wherein it is preferably provided that the second straight line runs in a vertical direction in the installed position of the hinge. Alternatively or additionally, the first straight line runs in a vertical direction in the installed position of the hinge.

[0015] Because the transmission element and the axis of rotation are slidably guided along the second guide of the base element, an advantageous coupling of the hinge arm via the lever element, the transmission element, and the actuating element with the spring can be achieved, allowing for particularly advantageous door operation. In particular, because the transmission element and the axis of rotation are slidable along the second guide and thus relative to the base element, an advantageous support of the transmission element, especially on the base element, can be provided, enabling particularly advantageous actuation of the hinge arm and thus of the door.

[0016] It has proven particularly advantageous if the second guide extends in the same plane as the first guide. This allows for advantageous movement of the actuating element and the transmission element, and consequently also of the lever element and the hinge arm, so that the hinge arm, and thus the door, can be operated, i.e., pivoted, with particular ease.

[0017] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the hinge has at least one braking surface which exerts a frictional force as a braking force on the transmission element, particularly at least indirectly and most preferably directly. The braking force opposes any rotation of the transmission element about the axis of rotation and relative to the base element. In other words, when the transmission element is rotated about the axis of rotation relative to the base element, it is braked by the braking force. This allows, for example, the door to be held particularly advantageously in equilibrium, that is, especially in the intermediate position. Furthermore, excessively rapid opening of the door and thus excessively hard slamming of the door in the open position can be avoided, resulting in a particularly advantageous operation of the door.Furthermore, this allows the hinge to be used for a variety of doors with different weights, resulting in particularly flexible application and thus a very wide range of uses. The braking surface is, for example, at least indirectly, and in particular directly, attached to the base element. This means, in particular, that the braking surface is positioned on the base element in such a way that relative movement between the base element and the braking surface is prevented. This allows the transmission element, and consequently the door, to be effectively braked.

[0018] In order to advantageously decelerate the transmission element during its rotation, and via the transmission element the hinge arm and the door, a further embodiment of the invention provides that the braking surface connects to the transmission element along the second guide, particularly in the aforementioned second direction. This makes it possible, for example, to particularly advantageously decelerate the transmission element, and via the transmission element and the lever element the hinge arm and thus the door, when the hinge arm is pivoted from the first pivot position to the second pivot position, especially when the door is opened. In particular, this makes it possible to decelerate the hinge arm more strongly by means of the braking surface when it is pivoted from the first pivot position to the second pivot position than when the hinge arm (swing arm) is pivoted from the second pivot position to the first pivot position. This can, for example, be particularly advantageous in preventing excessively fast, automatic opening of the door caused by the weight of the door, thus enabling a particularly advantageous operation of the door.

[0019] In particular, the invention makes it possible to guide the transmission element by means of the second guide, which is designed, for example, as a vertical elongated hole, in such a way that the transmission element is pressed against the braking surface, which is formed, for example, by a brake pad or designed as a brake pad, by means of the spring force acting, in particular, along the first guide and especially in the second direction, and by a second force, also referred to as a lever force, which is exerted, for example, by the lever on the transmission element and thereby acts, for example, along the second guide, in particular in the second direction, so that, for example, the spring force and the lever force act in the same direction, which is, for example, the second direction. In particular, the invention makes it possible to press the transmission element downwards against the braking surface in the second direction and / or in the vertical direction when the hinge is installed, by means of spring force and lever force, so that the transmission element is advantageously braked, especially during its rotation, which occurs when the hinge arm pivots from the first pivot position to the second pivot position. This allows the hinge to be used advantageously even for doors with high weights.

[0020] Preferably, the first direction of the hinge, when installed, points vertically upwards, and the second direction, when installed, points vertically downwards. For example, the aforementioned plane is a vertical plane, meaning it runs vertically.

[0021] In order to decelerate the transmission element particularly advantageously and thus achieve particularly advantageous door operation, a further embodiment of the invention provides that a contact surface of the rotating element, formed, for example, by an outer circumferential surface of the rotating element, whose contact surface points away from the axis of rotation in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation, is in, in particular, direct contact with the braking surface, whereby the braking force acts, in particular, directly on the contact surface. It is preferably provided that the direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation is the second direction or coincides with the second direction.

[0022] Another embodiment is characterized in that the braking surface is made of a first material and the transmission element, in particular the contact surface, is made of a second material different from the first. This allows the transmission element, and via the transmission element and the lever element the hinge arm and thus the door, to be braked particularly effectively and efficiently, resulting in a particularly advantageous, and in particular a particularly comfortable, actuation of the hinge arm and thus the door.

[0023] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the braking surface is formed by a braking element that is separate from and held on the base element, and which is, for example, the aforementioned brake pad. This allows the hinge to be manufactured particularly easily and thus in a time- and cost-effective manner, as well as to be maintained or repaired in a particularly time- and cost-effective way, since, for example, in the event of wear of the braking element or the braking surface, only the braking element and not the entire base element needs to be replaced. Furthermore, this allows the braking force to be adjusted easily and as required, so that the transmission element can be braked particularly effectively.

[0024] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least a predominant part, i.e., at least more than half, of the spring, and in particular the entire spring, connects vertically downwards to the transmission element when the hinge is installed. This allows for a particularly advantageous, and especially a particularly compact, hinge design, enabling the hinge to be arranged particularly advantageously in and / or on the device body. Consequently, advantageous dimensions of, for example, the transmission element and / or the spring can be achieved, allowing, for example, a particularly advantageous transmission ratio between the spring and the hinge arm. As a result, particularly advantageous door operation can be ensured.

[0025] Another embodiment is characterized in that at least the predominant part, i.e., at least more than half, of the spring, and in particular the entire spring, is arranged in a lower region of the base element when the hinge is installed, or extends vertically downwards from the base element when the hinge is installed. This also allows for a particularly advantageous, and especially a particularly compact, hinge design, and / or the hinge can be arranged particularly advantageously within the device body, enabling particularly advantageous dimensions of the hinge, especially of the spring and / or the transmission element. Consequently, an advantageous transmission between the hinge arm and the spring can be achieved, resulting in a particularly advantageous door actuation.

[0026] In particular, the spring can be arranged in the hinge's installed position and in / or on a foot of the base element, which may be designed, for example, as a support plate. This allows for a particularly advantageous, and especially a particularly compact, hinge design. The rationale is that there is usually sufficient space in the lower area to accommodate at least part of the hinge, particularly the spring, thus enabling advantageous dimensions of the hinge, especially of the transmission element and / or the spring. As previously described, this allows for an advantageous transmission between the hinge arm and the spring, enabling the hinge arm, and therefore the door, to be operated—that is, pivoted—particularly efficiently, especially manually by a person.

[0027] In a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating element is pivotally coupled to the transmission element by engaging in a guide track of the transmission element, also referred to as a third guide track, wherein the actuating element is displaceable along the third guide track of the transmission element relative to the transmission element, and in particular guided. This allows, for example, a rotation about the axis of rotation and relative to the base element, i.e., a rotary movement, of the transmission element to be particularly advantageously converted or redirected into a movement of the actuating element, particularly a vertical movement, along the first guide, thus enabling a particularly advantageous coupling between the transmission element and the actuating element, and therefore between the hinge arm and the spring. In particular, it is possible, by means of the third guide track, that is, by constructively designing the third guide track, especially its shape, to establish a ratio in which the rotational movement of the transmission element is converted or redirected into the movement of the actuating element along the first guide. In other words, it is possible, for example, to establish a translation between the transmission element and the actuating element, that is, between the rotational movement of the transmission element and the displacement of the actuating element along the first guide, by means of the third guide track, that is, by constructively designing or defining the third guide track, especially its shape. This allows, for example, a particularly advantageous ratio between the hinge arm and the spring to be set, so that the hinge can be optimally adapted to the different weights of different doors. This ensures a particularly large or wide range of applications for the hinge. In other words, by adjusting the aforementioned ratio, especially in conjunction with the spring force and spring constant, a desired characteristic of the hinge, also known as the hinge characteristic, can be set as needed, so that the hinge, or rather its characteristic, can be adapted to different doors that differ, particularly in their weights.

[0028] It has proven particularly advantageous if the guide track is curved, i.e., arc-shaped, so that the guide track is preferably designed as a guide curve, which is also referred to as a control curve. This allows the aforementioned ratio between the rotational movement of the transmission element and the translational movement of the actuating element along the first guide to be set particularly advantageously, thus enabling particularly efficient door operation.

[0029] In order to achieve a particularly advantageous translation between the hinge arm and the spring, and thus a particularly advantageous actuation of the door, it is provided in a further embodiment of the invention that the third guide track extends in a guide track plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation, which is preferably the aforementioned plane or runs parallel to the aforementioned plane.

[0030] A second aspect of the invention relates to a device, which is designed, for example, as a household appliance or a piece of furniture. The device comprises a device body and at least one door, also referred to as a flap, which is pivotally connected to the device body by means of at least one hinge according to the first aspect of the invention. Advantages and advantageous embodiments of the first aspect of the invention are to be regarded as advantages and advantageous embodiments of the second aspect of the invention, and vice versa. Thus, for example, the door can be pivoted relative to the device body by means of the hinge, in particular between a closed position and at least one open position.

[0031] Further advantages, features, and details of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment and from the drawing. The features and combinations of features mentioned above in the description, as well as those mentioned below in the figure description and / or shown in the figures alone, can be used not only in the combinations specified, but also in other combinations or individually, without departing from the scope of the invention.

In the figures, identical or functionally equivalent elements are provided with the same reference numerals.

[0033] Fig. 1 Figure 10 shows a section of a schematic perspective view of a device 10. The device 10 is located in the [location / model]. Fig. 1 The illustrated embodiment is designed as a household appliance. In particular, the device 10 is designed as a dishwasher, which is also referred to as a dishwasher. The device 10 has a device body 12, which in the Fig. 1 In the illustrated embodiment, the housing is a casing. The casing is also referred to as a device casing. The casing (device body 12) has a receiving chamber 14, also referred to as a receiving area, wherein the receiving chamber 14, and thus the casing, has an opening 16. The opening 16 opens on one side into the receiving chamber 14 and on the other side to an area surrounding the casing (device body 12). In the embodiment shown Fig. 1 In the illustrated embodiment, the receiving chamber 14 is a treatment chamber for washing dishes.

[0034] The device 10 further comprises a door 18, also referred to as a flap, and at least one hinge 20. The door 18 is pivotally connected to the device body 12 via the hinge 20, i.e., by means of the hinge 20, such that the door 18 can pivot between a closed position and at least one open position relative to the device body 12. Fig. 1 The door 18 is in an intermediate position, which lies between the open position and the closed position. Specifically, the open position and the closed position are the respective end positions of the door 18, which are also referred to as end positions. The door 18 can be moved into the respective end position, but cannot be moved beyond it. In the closed position, the door 18 completely covers the opening 16 and thus the receiving space 14. In the open position, the door 18 exposes at least a portion of the opening 16 and thus of the receiving space 14, so that in the open position of the door 18, dishes from the surroundings can be moved into the receiving space 14, or dishes from the receiving space 14 can be moved to or into the surroundings. In particular, it is conceivable that the door could be opened by means of at least or exactly one second element, as shown in the figures. The device body 12 is pivotally connected to the device body 12 by a hinge that is not readily apparent, the hinges being arranged, for example, on opposite sides of the device body 12 in the transverse direction of the device 10. The transverse direction is in . Fig. 1 illustrated by a double arrow 22 and runs in a Fig. 1 The device 10 is in the horizontal position shown in the diagram, that is, in a horizontal plane. The device 10 assumes its operating position in its intended position, i.e., orientation. In particular, the door 18 can be pivoted about a door pivot axis relative to the device body 12, wherein, in the operating position of the device 10, the door pivot axis runs transversely to the device 10. The preceding and following descriptions of the hinge 20 can readily be transferred to the other hinge and vice versa. For example, a person in the vicinity can manually operate the door 18 and thereby manually pivot it between the closed and open positions relative to the device body 12. As will be explained below, a particularly advantageous operation of the door 18 can be ensured by means of the hinge 20. For this purpose, the hinge 20, as shown below, is particularly well suited to this purpose. Fig. 2 As can be seen, a base element 24, also referred to as a support element or support part, is formed, for example, as a base plate, which is also referred to as a support plate. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the base element 24 is formed separately from the device body 12 and is connected to the device body 12 at least indirectly, and in particular directly. The device body 12 has two side walls 26 and 28, which are spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction of the device 10 and define the receiving space 14 in the transverse direction of the device 10. The base element 24 is attached, for example, to the side wall 26, in particular such that relative movements between the side wall 26 and the base element 24 are prevented. It can be seen that the side wall 26 is a component of the device body 12.

[0035] The hinge 20 also has a hinge arm 30, also simply referred to as an arm or pivot arm, which is pivotably connected to the base element 24 about a first pivot axis 32 relative to the base element 24. In the installed position of the hinge 20, the pivot axis 32 runs in the transverse direction of the device 10, with the hinge 20 assuming its installed position when the device 10 is fully manufactured and when the device 10 is in its intended operating position, which is in Fig. 1 As shown, the device 10, in its fully manufactured state, has the hinge 20, which is attached to the side wall 26 of the device 10 in its fully manufactured state. In particular, the hinge 20 defines the door pivot axis. It is conceivable that the first pivot axis 32 coincides with or is the door pivot axis.

[0036] The hinge 20 also has a transmission element 34, which is rotatably mounted on the base element 24 about a pivot axis 36 relative to the base element 24. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the pivot axis 32 and the pivot axis 36 run parallel to each other, with the pivot axis 32 and the pivot axis 36 being spaced apart from each other, particularly in the depth direction of the device 10. The depth direction of the device 10 is illustrated by a double arrow 38 and runs perpendicular to the transverse direction. In the operating position of the device 10, the depth direction runs horizontally, i.e., in the aforementioned horizontal plane, so that the transverse direction and the depth direction extend in the common horizontal plane in the operating position of the device 10. Along the depth direction of the device 10, the receiving space 14 is bounded to the rear by a rear wall 40 of the device body 12.In the closed position of the door 18, the receiving space 14 is bounded forward in the depth direction of the device 10 by the door 18. In the vertical direction of the device 10, the receiving space 14 is bounded downward by a base of the device body 12, which is not visible in the figure. In the vertical direction of the device 10, the receiving space 14 is bounded upward by a top of the device body 12, which is not visible in the figure. The vertical direction of the device 10 is illustrated by a double arrow 42 and runs perpendicular to the depth direction and perpendicular to the transverse direction, whereby in the operating position of the device 10, the vertical direction runs vertically.

[0037] The hinge 20 also features a Fig. 2 The figure shows a partial view of spring 44. In this case, spring 44 is a mechanical spring, and thus designed as a solid body. Spring 44 can be designed as a tension spring or a compression spring; in this case, for example, spring 44 is designed as a compression spring. The hinge 20 also has an actuating element 46, which is coupled to spring 44. Spring 44 has two ends, E1 and E2, which are spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of spring 44. In the installed position of the hinge 20, the longitudinal direction of spring 44 is vertical. For example, the end E1 of the spring 44 can be supported, at least indirectly, and in particular directly, against a first stop 48 provided on the base element 24, the stop 48 being provided, at least indirectly, and in particular directly, on the base element 24, in particular such that relative movements between the base element 24 and the stop 48 are prevented. The second end E2 can be supported, for example, at least indirectly, and in particular directly, against the actuating element 46, and in particular against a second stop 50 of the actuating element 46, in the longitudinal direction of the spring 44. For example, the ends E1 and E2, and thus the spring 44, are arranged between the stops 48 and 50 in the longitudinal direction of the spring 44.In particular, as will be explained below, the stop 50 is translationally movable in the longitudinal direction of the spring 44 relative to the stop 48, and thus displaceable, whereby the spring 44 can be tensioned and relaxed.

[0038] For example, if the stop 50 is moved towards the stop 48, the end E2 is moved towards the end E1. This compresses and thus tensions the spring 44. If, and especially subsequently, the stop 50 is moved away from the stop 48, the spring 44 can at least partially relax. In other words, the end E2 can move away from the end E1, allowing the spring 44 to increase in length and thus at least partially relax. By tensioning the spring 44, it provides a spring force which acts, at least indirectly, and especially directly, on the actuating element 46, particularly via the stop 50 of the actuating element 46, especially in the longitudinal direction of the spring 44 and thus, for example, in the vertical direction.

[0039] Especially good in combination with Fig. 3b It is evident that the base element 24 has a first guide 52. The base element 24 can be formed in one piece or as a single component. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the base element 24 is formed in multiple parts and thus has several separately formed and therefore interconnected components. The actuating element 46 is pivotally coupled to the transmission element 34 and is guided and displaceable along the first guide 52 of the base element 24, and thus translationally movable. This means that the actuating element 46 can be displaced along the guide 52 of the base element 24 and thus relative to the base element 24. The first guide 52 is or comprises a first path of movement, which is also referred to as the first guide path. For example, the actuating element 46 engages in the first path of movement, allowing it to be guided and moved along this path relative to the base element 24. The first path of movement defines a first direction of movement along which the actuating element 46 can be guided and moved relative to the base element 24. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the first guide 52, and thus the first path of movement, extends in a straight line along a first straight line in the first direction of movement. In this case, the first guide 52 runs vertically in the installed position of the hinge 20. Therefore, the first guide 52 extends vertically, making it a vertical guide, specifically a vertical sliding guide. The spring can be tensioned and relaxed by moving the actuating element 46 along the first guide 52 and thus along the first path of movement and along the first direction of movement, the movement of which takes place in a vertical direction because the first guide 52 runs vertically, in particular with regard to the installation position of the hinge 20.

[0040] In Fig. 2 Arrow 54 illustrates a first direction, which coincides with or runs parallel to the first direction of movement. Arrow 56 illustrates a second direction, which is opposite to the first direction and coincides with or runs parallel to the first direction of movement.

[0041] In Fig. 3a und 3b The actuating element 46 is, for example, in a first actuating position. Fig. 2 The actuating element 46 is, for example, in a second actuating position. The actuating element 46 can be moved from the first actuating position to the second actuating position by pushing or shifting it along the first guide 52 in the first direction relative to the base element 24. This, for example, moves the stop 50 towards the stop 48, thereby tensioning the spring 44, in this case compressing and tensioning it. If, for example, the actuating element 46 is then pushed or shifted along the first guide 52 in the second direction relative to the base element 24, opposite to the first direction, this shifts or pushes the actuating element 46 from the second actuating position back to the first actuating position, i.e., it is pushed back. This, for example, moves the stop 50 away from the stop 48, allowing the spring 44 to at least partially relax. It can be seen that the spring force of spring 44 opposes the movement of the actuating element 46 from the first actuating position to the second actuating position. For example, the spring force of spring 44 can cause or at least assist the movement of the actuating element 46 from the second actuating position to the first actuating position.

[0042] The hinge 20 also has a lever element 58, which is pivotably connected to the transmission element 34 about a second pivot axis 60 relative to the transmission element 34. Furthermore, the lever element 58 is pivotably connected to the hinge arm 30 about a third pivot axis 62 relative to the hinge arm 30. It can be seen that the pivot axes 60 and 62 run parallel to each other and are spaced apart, with the pivot axes 60 and 62 extending in the transverse direction of the device 10, particularly in the installed position of the hinge 20. Thus, in the embodiment shown in the figures, the pivot axes 32, 60, and 62 and the axis of rotation 36, especially when considered in pairs, are parallel to each other and spaced apart. Furthermore, in the installed position of the hinge 20, the pivot axes 32, 60, and 62 and the axis of rotation 36 extend in the transverse direction of the device 10.It can be seen that the lever element 58 is articulated both with the hinge arm 30 (swivel arm) and with the transmission element 34. By pivoting or pivoting the hinge arm 30 about the first pivot axis 32 and relative to the base element 24, the transmission element 34 can be driven by the hinge arm 30 via the lever element 58 and thus rotated about the axis of rotation 36 relative to the base element 24. This allows the actuating element 46 to be driven by the transmission element 34 and thus displaced along the first guide 52 relative to the base element 24, thereby tensioning and releasing the spring 44. The hinge arm 30 is located between a... Fig. 3a und 3b shown, first swivel position and one in Fig. 5a und 5b The second pivot position shown can be pivoted about the first pivot axis 32 relative to the base element 24. In particular, the pivot positions of the hinge arm 30 are respective end positions of the hinge arm 30, which can be pivoted into the respective end position but cannot be pivoted beyond the respective end position. Fig. 4a, b show an intermediate position of the hinge arm 30, also referred to as an intermediate position, wherein the intermediate position lies between the first pivot position and the second pivot position.

[0043] For example, in Fig. 3a A first direction of rotation is illustrated by arrow 64. Furthermore, in Fig. 3a One of the two swivel directions, opposite to the first, is illustrated by an arrow 66. Fig. 3a An arrow 68 illustrates a first direction of rotation of the transmission element 34, and an arrow 70 illustrates a second direction of rotation of the transmission element 34, opposite to the first. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the first pivot position of the hinge arm 30 corresponds to the closed position of the door 18, and the second pivot position of the hinge arm 30 corresponds to the open position of the door 18. Furthermore, the intermediate position of the hinge arm 30 corresponds to the position shown in the figure. Fig. 1 The intermediate position of the door 18 is shown. When the door 18 is in the closed position, the hinge arm 30, also referred to as the pivot arm, is in its first pivot position. When the door 18 is opened, the hinge arm 30 pivots about the pivot axis 32 relative to the base element 24 in the first pivot direction, specifically such that the door 18 pivots from the closed position to the open position, and thus the hinge arm 30 pivots from the first pivot position to the second pivot position. If, for example, the door 18 is then closed, i.e., pivoted from the open position to the closed position, the hinge arm 30 pivots about the pivot axis 32 relative to the base element 24 in the second pivot direction, thereby pivoting from the second pivot position to the first pivot position. When the hinge arm 30 is pivoted in the first direction, the transmission element 34 is driven via the lever element 58 such that the transmission element 34 is rotated in the first direction about the axis of rotation 36 relative to the base element 24. This causes the actuating element 46 to be moved along the first guide 52 in the first direction, shifting from the first actuating position to the second actuating position. This tensions the spring 44.If the transmission element 34 is rotated around the axis of rotation 36 relative to the base element 24 in the second direction of rotation, in particular by pivoting the hinge arm 30 in the second pivoting direction, the actuating element 46 is thereby moved along the first guide 52 relative to the base element 24 in the second direction and thus moved from the second actuating position to the first actuating position, thereby relaxing the spring 44.

[0044] Looks especially good Fig. 3a, b It can be seen that the first guide 52 extends in a plane which runs perpendicular to the axis of rotation 36.

[0045] Looks especially good Fig. 3b , 4b and 5bIt is evident that the base element 24 has a second guide 72, which is, for example, designed as an elongated slot. The second guide 72 is or comprises a second path of movement, which is also referred to as the second guide path. The second guide 72 defines or forms a second direction of movement along which the transmission element 34, and with it the axis of rotation 36, can be displaced relative to the base element 24. This means that the transmission element 34, and with it the axis of rotation 36, can be displaced along the second guide 72 and thus along the second path of movement and relative to the base element 24. In the embodiment shown in the figure, the second guide 72, and thus the second path of movement and thus the second direction of movement, extend in a straight line and thus along a second straight line, which in this case runs parallel to the first straight line. Thus, the second straight line, and therefore the second guide 72 and the second path of movement, run vertically in the installed position of the hinge 20, that is, in a vertical direction. The guides 52 and 72 are spaced apart from each other and, in particular, separated from each other. The guides 52 and 72 extend in the same plane mentioned above.

[0046] Looks especially good Fig. 3a , 4a and 5aIt can be seen that the hinge 20 has a braking surface 74 which exerts a frictional force as a braking force, particularly directly, on the transmission element 34. This braking force opposes any rotation of the transmission element 34 about the axis of rotation 36 and, for example, in the first direction of rotation (arrow 68) relative to the base element 24. In other words, when the transmission element 34 is rotated relative to the base element 24 about the axis of rotation 36 in the first and / or second direction of rotation, it is braked by the braking force, i.e., by the braking surface 74. This prevents, for example, the door 18 from opening too quickly and from slamming shut too hard. The braking surface 74 is specifically designed on the base element 24 in such a way that relative movements between the braking surface 74 and the base element 24 are prevented. The braking surface 74 connects to the transmission element 34 along the second guide 72, and in particular in the second direction. In the installed position of the hinge 20, the second direction (arrow 56) runs vertically downwards, and the first direction runs vertically upwards (arrow 54) in the installed position of the hinge 20.

[0047] The transmission element 34 has a contact surface 76 which is in, in particular direct, contact with the braking surface 74, whereby the braking force acts on the contact surface 76. The contact surface 76 points in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation 36, in particular away from the axis of rotation 36, and is formed, for example, by an outer circumferential surface of the transmission element 34.

[0048] Preferably, the braking surface 74 is made of a first material and the transmission element 34 is made of a second material different from the first material, whereby the transmission element 34 can be braked particularly advantageously.

[0049] In the embodiment shown in the figure, the braking surface 74 is formed by a braking element 78, which is designed separately from the base element 24 and is, for example, designed as a brake pad or is also referred to as a brake lining. The braking element 78 is attached to the base element 24, in particular in such a way that relative movements between the braking element 78 and the base element 24 are prevented.

[0050] From a synthesis of Fig. 1 bis 5b It is evident that at least a predominant part of the spring 44 is arranged in a lower region UB of the base element 24 when the hinge 20 is installed, or that at least the predominant part of the spring 44 extends vertically downwards from the base element 24 when the hinge 20 is installed. In particular, it is conceivable that the spring 44 is arranged in and / or on a foot of the base element 24, which may, for example, be designed as a support plate. This allows for a particularly advantageous, and especially compact, design of the hinge 20, enabling the hinge 20 to be arranged particularly advantageously in the device body 12.

[0051] The actuating element 46 is, for example, coupled to the first guide 52 and thus guided and displaceable along the guide 52 in such a way that a coupling element 80 ( Fig. 3b The actuating element 46 engages in the guide 52, in particular in its first path of movement. In the embodiment shown in the figures, the actuating element 46 is pivotally coupled to the transmission element 34 such that the actuating element 46, in particular the coupling element 80, also engages in a third guide path 82 of the transmission element 34, also referred to as the third path of movement. The coupling element 80, and thus the actuating element 46, is displaceable along the third guide path 82 relative to the transmission element 34.In other words, if the transmission element 34 is rotated about the axis of rotation 36 relative to the base element 24, particularly when and / or when the hinge arm 30 is pivoted about the pivot axis 32 relative to the base element 24, the actuating element 46 is displaced in the guide track 82, and the actuating element 46 is driven by the transmission element 34, in particular by at least one wall of the transmission element 34 that delimits the guide track 82, and in particular directly, such that the actuating element 46 is displaced in and along the first guide 52. The guide track 82 is also referred to as the control cam and, in the embodiment shown in the figures, is arcuate, i.e., curved. This allows a rotational movement of the transmission element 34 about the axis of rotation 36 and relative to the base element 24 to be converted, i.e., redirected, into a translational movement along the first guide 52 and relative to the base element 24, i.e., a displacement of the actuating element 46. In particular, by designing, i.e., constructively structuring, the control cam, an advantageous transmission ratio between the hinge arm 30 and the spring 44 can be set or designed, whereby, for example, an advantageous torque, especially one opposing the opening of the door 18 and also referred to as the hinge torque, can be set or designed.

[0052] For example, from Fig. 3a , 4a and 5aIt is evident that the transmission element 34 is articulated to the lever element 58 in such a way that the transmission element 34, in particular a coupling element 84 of the transmission element 34, engages in a fourth guide 86 of the lever element 58, wherein the coupling element 84 and thus the transmission element 34 is displaceable along the guide 86 relative to the lever element 58. In particular, the guide 86 can be designed as an elongated slot.

[0053] The aforementioned spring force of spring 44 is in Fig. 6 illustrated by a force arrow F1. A second force, also known as lever force, is represented in Fig. 6 This is illustrated by a force arrow F2. The second force results, for example, from the pulling on and across the door 18 and the hinge arm 30, particularly to open the door 18. Alternatively or additionally, the second force can result from the weight of the door 18, especially in the intermediate position and / or when the door 18 is open. Force arrows F2a and F2b also illustrate components of the second force, which are referred to as force components. The force component illustrated by force arrow F2a acts vertically and downwards, and is therefore a vertical force component. The force component illustrated by force arrow F2b acts horizontally and is thus a horizontal force component.A third force, also referred to as the sum force, is illustrated by force arrow F3. This force acts vertically downwards on the transmission element 34. The sum force results from the spring force (force arrow F1) and the vertical force component (force arrow F2a), specifically being the sum of the spring force (force arrow F1) and the vertical force component (force arrow F2a). The spring force and the vertical force component of the second force act vertically downwards. By means of the third force (force arrow F3), acting vertically downwards, the transmission element 34, in particular its contact surface 76, is pressed against the braking surface 74, thus exerting a braking force on the transmission element 34. The braking force is in . Fig. 6This is illustrated by a force arrow Fr and results from the third force multiplied by the coefficient of friction of the braking surface 74. This allows the transmission element 34 and thus the door 18 to be braked advantageously.
