Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to the field of polarized high sensitivity electromagnetic trip units for electrical protection equipment and the field of electrical protection equipment fitted with such polarized high sensitivity electromagnetic trip units, in particular of the differential protection type.
[0002] The electromagnetic trip unit, also commonly called a relay, is an essential component of the differential function. It connects the electronic circuit of the differential function, which, along with a measuring toroid, detects differential faults, to the mechanical part consisting of the mechanical lock and the electrical contacts that enable the breaking. An electromagnetic trip unit typically consists of a magnetic circuit, most often in two parts: a fixed part and a moving part, a permanent magnet, a spring, and a coil that can be powered by an external electronic circuit. The choice of magnetic structure for the electromagnetic trip unit must meet very stringent specifications, requiring compact dimensions to optimize its integration into electrical protection equipment, electrical characteristics enabling robust and compact differential functions, immunity to electromagnetic and climatic environments, and mechanical stability. To allow for cost-competitive industrialization, the electromagnetic trip unit's structure must also optimize the use of high-grade magnetic materials and reduce the number of assembly steps.
[0003] The current transformer, the electronic circuit, and the high-sensitivity polarized electromagnetic trip unit are typically sized to meet regulatory specifications related to personal protection and also to comply with volumetric constraints in order to be integrated into the increasingly compact platforms of electrical protective equipment. The key to this compactness lies particularly in the size of the electromagnetic trip unit, its power output, and its stability. Indeed, an electromagnetic trip unit that provides stable activation at a low power level allows the use of a small current transformer.
[0004] Publication DE102014226042A1 discloses an electromagnetic trigger comprising a magnetic system that includes an armature with a first magnetic foot and a second magnetic foot having a U-shape. A movable paddle is mounted to rotate about a pivot point relative to the magnetic system. A spring element is further attached by a first hook to the magnetic system at its first end. The spring element is also coupled to the movable paddle via a spring support mounted on the movable paddle, which has a second hook mounted on the movable paddle at its midpoint, to which the spring element is attached at its second end. The spring element is substantially positioned above the movable paddle, parallel to the movable paddle.
[0005] Publication DE102018204673A1 discloses a similar configuration and further shows that the electromagnetic trigger comprises a magnet surrounded by two lugs resting on the outer faces of a first magnetic foot and a second magnetic foot. The magnet extends vertically along the entire height of the end face of the armature, being attached to it. The spring support is located above the lugs.
[0006] These solutions have the disadvantage of not allowing for proper contact between the pallet and the frame. Furthermore, the hinge is very wide and bulky, and the moving pallet must have a specific Y-shape for stability.
[0007] Document EP0829896A2 describes a magnetic trip unit for a residual current circuit breaker, comprising a magnetic circuit powered by a permanent magnet with a U-shaped armature and a pivoting pivoting tang at a pivoting edge, and a pre-tensioned spring element for activating the pivoting tang in the opposite direction to a force generated by the permanent magnet. This solution is particularly noteworthy because the spring element is a torsion spring with its winding axis aligned with the pivoting edge. This solution offers the advantage of a highly effective hinge, but at the expense of compactness. The armature comprises two V-shaped end plates, and the permanent magnet is formed as a prism. As a result, the volume of the magnet and the thickness of the electromagnetic trigger are higher compared to the solutions described previously.
[0008] The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks and proposes a new high-sensitivity electromagnetic trigger structure with a small volume compared to the prior art known, which allows it to meet the compactness requirements.
[0009] To this end, the invention relates to an electromagnetic trip unit for a protective device, preferably a differential one, comprising at least: a coil, an armature, preferably made of magnetic material and preferably U-shaped, comprising at least a first armature piece having a first polar face and a second armature piece comprising a second polar face, which are at least at a juxtaposition zone arranged at a distance from each other so as to form an air gap 8, the second armature piece having a U-shape with at least one arm 9 surrounded by said coil, a magnet surrounded by first and second magnetic legs, which are located in the extension of a first end face of said armature opposite the second end face of the armature located on the side of the arm surrounded by said coil, a movable vane mounted pivoting relative to said armature, a return element coupled to the movable vane,The electromagnetic trigger is characterized in that: the magnet is attached to the first end face and extends from a base face of the armature over a first height less than a second height of the first and second armature pieces, so as to form above a receiving space located opposite the first end face, having a third height and configured to receive at least the return element; the return element is arranged longitudinally in a first direction, called vertical, within the receiving space, and is coupled by one end to the armature and by the other end to the moving pallet.
[0010] The invention also relates to an electrical protection device comprising an electromagnetic trigger, characterized in that the electromagnetic trigger is according to the invention.
[0011] The invention will be better understood from the following description, which relates to several preferred embodiments, given by way of non-limiting examples, and explained with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings, in which: [ Fig. 1 ] there figure 1 represents a perspective view of an electromagnetic trigger according to a first variant of the invention [ Fig. 2 ] there figure 2 represents a top view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 1 , [ Fig. 3 ] there figure 3 represents a cross-sectional view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 1 , [ Fig. 4 ] there figure 4 represents a partial perspective view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 1 , [ Fig. 5 ] there figure 5 represents a partial side view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 4 , [ Fig. 6 ] there figure 6 represents a perspective view of an electromagnetic trigger according to a second embodiment of the invention, [ Fig. 7 ] there figure 7 represents a top view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 6 , [ Fig. 8 ] there figure 8 represents a cross-sectional view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 6 , [ Fig. 9 ] there figure 9 represents a partial perspective view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 1 , [ Fig. 10 ] there figure 10 represents a partial side view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 9 , [ Fig. 11 ] there figure 11 represents a front view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 6 , [ Fig. 12 ] there figure 12 represents a perspective view of an electromagnetic trigger according to a third embodiment of the invention, [ Fig. 13 ] there figure 13 represents a top view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 12 , [ Fig. 14 ] there figure 14 represents a cross-sectional view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 12 , [ Fig. 15 ] there figure 15 represents a partial perspective view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 12 , And [ Fig. 16 ] there figure 16 represents a partial side view of the electromagnetic trigger of the figure 12 .
[0012] As illustrated in the figures, an electromagnetic trip unit for a protective device, preferably a differential one, comprises at least: a coil 1, an armature 2, preferably of magnetic material and preferably in the shape of a U, comprising at least a first armature piece 3 having a first polar face 4 and a second armature piece 5 comprising a second polar face 6, which are at least at the level of a juxtaposition zone 7 arranged at a distance from each other so as to form an air gap 8, the second armature piece 5 having a U shape with at least one arm 9 surrounded by said coil 1, a magnet 10 surrounded by first and second magnetic legs 11, 12, which are located in the extension of a first end face 13 of said armature 2 opposite the second end face 14 of the armature located on the side of the arm 9 surrounded by said coil 1, a movable pallet 15 mounted pivotally relative to said armature 2, a return element 16 coupled to the movable pallet 15.
[0013] According to the invention, the electromagnetic trigger is characterized in that: . the magnet 10 is attached to the first end face 13 and extends from a base face 17 of the armature 2 over a first height h1 less than a second height h2 of the first and second armature pieces 3, 5 so as to form above a receiving space 18 located opposite the first end face 13, having a third height h3 and configured to receive at least the return element 16, the return element 16 is arranged longitudinally in a first direction D1 called vertical in the receiving space 18, and is coupled by a first end 19 to the armature 2 and by a second end 20 to the movable pallet 15.
[0014] Advantageously, this configuration allows, by modifying the position of the magnet 10, which is usually attached to the first end face 13 of the armature 2 and extends over the entire second height h2, for space to be freed up opposite the first end face 13 of the armature 2 and on the side of the movable pallet 15 to house at least part of the return element 16. In this space, called the receiving space 18, the return element 16 extends along the first direction D1, called vertical, substantially parallel to the first end face 13. This optimizes the contact of the movable pallet 15 with the first and second polar faces 4, 6 of the armature 2 in the closed position, while simultaneously creating an opening torque for the movable pallet 15. As a result, the compactness of the electromagnetic trigger is improved without impacting its stability.Within the framework of the invention, the return element 16 may have a tolerance angle between 0 degrees and 10 degrees with respect to the first end face 13. In this case, the return element 16 is considered to extend along the first direction D1, referred to as vertical, substantially parallel to the first end face 13 in the sense of the present invention, this angle being considered small. In this configuration, the movable pallet 15 can be pressed against the first and second polar faces 4 and 6, and optionally against the second coupling end 23 of the hinge support 21 described below.
[0015] Preferably, the magnet 10 extends longitudinally in a second direction D2 called horizontal perpendicular to the first direction D1.
[0016] Advantageously, in this alternative configuration compared to the prior art, the magnet 10 can be disposed relative to the armature 2 with its greatest length in the direction of the second horizontal direction D2.
[0017] Preferably, the electromagnetic trigger further includes a hinge support 21 housed in the receiving space 18, being fixed relative to the armature 2, and comprising a first coupling end 22 coupled to the first end 19 of the spring element and a second coupling end 23 coupled directly or indirectly to the movable pallet 15.
[0018] Advantageously, the hinge support 21 is also housed mostly in the receiving space 18, which helps to optimize the compactness of the electromagnetic trigger.
[0019] The first armature piece 3 and / or the second armature piece 5 preferably have at least one notch 28 to form a housing 29 in the armature 2 to partially receive the magnet 10.
[0020] Advantageously, the housing 29 of the armature 2 allows part of the volume of the magnet 10 to be integrated into the armature 2, which improves the compactness of the electromagnetic trigger.
[0021] As illustrated by the figures 1 à 5 , the first armature piece 3 and the second armature piece 5 preferably each have a notch 28, the housing 29 is provided in the first end face 13 on the side of the base face 17 and the magnet 10 has at least a first part 30 disposed in the housing 29 and a second part 31 protruding from the first end face 13.
[0022] In this first embodiment variant, the housing 29 of the armature 2 allows the volume of the first part of the magnet 30 to be integrated, which makes it possible to improve the compactness of the electromagnetic trigger, since only the volume of the second part 31 is salient from the first end face 13 of the armature 2 and not the entire volume of the magnet 10 as is the case in the prior art cited.
[0023] In this case, the electromagnetic trigger preferably comprises a first breech 24 and a second breech 25 surrounding the magnet 10 and forming said first and second magnetic legs 11, 12, the first breech 24 resting on a first external face (not visible) of the first armature piece 3 and the second breech 25 resting on a second external face 27 of the second armature piece 5.
[0024] Advantageously, the derivation of the magnetic field of the magnet 10 is done using the first and second yokes 24, 25.
[0025] The magnet 10 is preferably mounted flush with the first and second external faces 27 and the first and second yokes 24, 25 are parallel to the first and second external faces 27 and the magnet 10 has a parallelepiped shape preferably rectangular.
[0026] Advantageously, in this arrangement the thickness of the electromagnetic trigger can be reduced.
[0027] As an alternative to the first embodiment, and as illustrated by the figures 6 à 16 , the electromagnetic trigger comprises a single breechblock 32 resting on the second outer face 27 of the second armature piece 5 forming the second magnetic leg 12 and the first armature piece 3 extends to form the first magnetic leg 11, the single breechblock 32 and the first magnetic leg 11 surrounding the magnet 10.
[0028] Advantageously, the derivation of the magnetic field of the magnet 10 is done using the single yoke 32 and the first magnetic leg 11 extending and forming part of the first armature piece 3. This results in a reduction in the number of parts compared to the first embodiment described previously.
[0029] In this case, preferably the magnet 10 has a truncated pyramid shape with a square or rectangular base, the single yoke 32 has a deflected portion 33, and the first magnetic leg 11 is parallel or deflected with respect to the first external face of the first armature piece 3.
[0030] Advantageously, the shape of magnet 10 allows for optimization of its volume while also reducing the thickness of the electromagnetic trigger. The single bolt 32 and the first magnetic leg 11 have shapes that advantageously conform to the shape of magnet 10.

[0052] The third height h3 of the reception space 18 which extends in the first direction D1 corresponds approximately to the second height h2 subtracted from the first height h1.
[0053] The reception space 18 has a first width l1 in the direction of the second direction D2.
