The drive (1) comprises a mounting device (5), a first electric motor (6), a drive pulley (10), a reduction gear (11), and a reduction gear wheel (12) which is non-rotatably connected to a first shaft (6) of the first electric motor (6). The drive (1) also comprises a second reduction gear wheel (13) which is non-rotatably connected to a drive pulley (10). The first reduction gear wheel (12) and the second reduction gear wheel (13) are connected to a first transmission element (4) for transmitting the rotation of the first reduction gear wheel (12) to the second reduction gear wheel (13). The first electric motor (6) is mounted on the mounting device (5). The mounting device (5) is designed such that a second motor (8), which can drive an elevator (2), can be mounted on the mounting device (5).Furthermore, the invention relates to an elevator (2) comprising a drive (1) and a method for retrofitting a rope elevator with a drive (1).
