Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Public transport car, comprising a display device on a window
[0001] The present invention relates to a public transport vehicle, in particular a railway vehicle, comprising at least one side window provided with a pane of glass.
[0002] In some cases, it is desired to display information on the glass of a side window of the car. For this purpose, a device for displaying images on the glass is provided.
[0003] The image display devices known in the state of the art are however not satisfactory.
[0004] In particular, some display devices include LCD screens embedded in the glass. Such LCD screens do not allow transparency of the glass, and require complete replacement of the glass in the event of failure.
[0005] In order to maintain transparency of the window, there are also display devices comprising an image projector. However, given the architecture of a railway vehicle car, it is difficult to arrange such an image projector so as to obtain a satisfactory image on the window. More particularly, either the image is clear but too small, or the image is blurred and / or subject to trapezoidal distortion. To obtain a sufficiently large and clear image, it would be necessary to arrange the projector at a sufficient distance from the window, but this is not possible in a railway vehicle, due to the presence of passengers, and the arched shape of the ceiling to which the projector is fixed, as well as the proximity of the voussoir to the glazing, the target area for the implementation of projectors.
[0006] The invention aims in particular to remedy these drawbacks, by proposing a system making it possible to display sufficiently large and clear images, despite the constraints linked to the architecture of a railway vehicle.
[0007] To this end, the invention relates in particular to a public transport vehicle, in particular a railway vehicle, comprising at least one side window provided with a pane, and a device for displaying at least one item of information on the pane, characterized in that the display device comprises:
[0008] - an image projector, fixed to a ceiling of the car, intended to emit rays bright,
[0009] - a system of at least one mirror arranged to reflect the light rays emitted by the image projector, towards the window.
[0010] The mirror system makes it possible in particular to increase the path traveled by the light rays, in a reduced storage space for the projector.
[0011] Furthermore, the projector is not directed directly towards the window, but away from it, which limits trapezoidal distortions.
[0012] A car according to the invention may further comprise one or more of the following characteristics, taken alone or in any technically conceivable combination.
[0013] - The mirror system comprises a first and a second mirror, the first mirror being arranged to reflect the light rays emitted by the image projector towards the second mirror, and the second mirror being arranged to reflect the light rays reflected by the first mirror, towards the window.
[0014] - The second mirror is a pixelated mirror.
[0015] - At least one of the mirrors is connected to a support by movable connecting means allowing adjustment of the mirror position by translation and / or by inclination.
[0016] - The image projector is at least partly housed in a housing delimited by the ceiling, typically a voussoir.
[0017] - The window comprises a film, in particular a holographic film, covering the glass or integrated into the glass, the film forming a projection surface for the image.
[0018] - The car has a plurality of windows, each being equipped with a device respective display.
[0019] The invention will be better understood on reading the following description, given solely by way of example and with reference to the single appended figure [fig.l], schematically representing a railway vehicle car according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
[0020] The figure shows partially and schematically a car 10 of a public transport vehicle, in particular a railway vehicle.
[0021] The car 10 comprises a structural body 30 comprising side walls and a ceiling, as well as a voussoir 28.
[0022] At least one of the side walls, preferably each side wall, is provided with at least one window 14, comprising a pane of glass 16.
[0023] The car 10 comprises, for at least one of the windows, and preferably for each window, a respective device for displaying images on the window 16.
[0024] The display device comprises an image projector 20 capable of emitting light rays for the purpose of forming an image on a projection surface. The image projector 20 is preferably a video projector.
[0025] The image can be of any conceivable type, and for example it can include informative text.
[0026] The projector 20 is housed at least partly in a housing provided in the voussoir 28. The image projector 20 is fixed to the structural box 30 by means of a first support 32, and first movable fixing means 34 connecting the image projector 20 to the first support 32. The image projector 20 is tiltable thanks to the first movable fixing means 34.
[0027] The projector 20 is oriented to emit the light rays opposite the window 16. As an example, a light ray R has been shown in the figure.
[0028] The display device further comprises a system 22 of at least one mirror, arranged to reflect the light rays R emitted by the image projector 20, in the direction of the window 16.
[0029] Advantageously, the system 22 comprises two mirrors, namely a first mirror 24 and a second mirror 26.
[0030] The first mirror 24 is arranged to reflect the light rays R emitted by the image projector 20, towards the second mirror 26. The second mirror 26 is arranged to reflect the light rays R reflected by the first mirror 24, towards the window 16.
[0031] At least one of the mirrors 24, 26 is connected to a second support 36 fixed to the structural body 30, in particular to the ceiling, by second movable fixing means 38 allowing adjustment of the position of the mirror by translation and / or by inclination.
[0032] It is thus possible to adjust the alignment of the mirrors to obtain a satisfactory image on the projection surface.
[0033] Advantageously, the second mirror 26 is a pixelated mirror. Such a pixelated mirror makes it possible to enlarge the image and to correct the trapezoidal distortion due to the orientation of the projector 20.
[0034] Optionally, the trapezoidal distortion is also corrected by means of suitable software, at the level of the projector 20.
[0035] Advantageously, the first 24 and second 26 mirrors are connected to each other, for example by means of a hinge allowing the mirrors 24, 26 to be inclined relative to each other.
[0036] Preferably, the window 14 comprises a film covering the glass 16 or integrated (laminated) to the glass 16, the film forming the projection surface for the image. This film is typically a holographic film.
[0037] The film allows for better reflection of the image than the glass itself, while remaining transparent or substantially transparent. The film therefore forms an effective contact surface.
[0038] It will be noted that the mirrors guarantee maximum reflection of the luminous flux emitted by the projector 20. There is therefore no loss of brightness between the projector 20 and the window 16.
[0039] It will be noted that the invention is not limited to the embodiment previously described, but could have various complementary variants.
