Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Packaging incorporating a device for holding an object to be shipped and pre-cut blank for forming such packaging
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of packaging incorporating a device for holding at least one object or product for shipping and, in a preferred but not exclusive form, the field of packaging with an integrated holding device obtained by forming a pre-cut blank.
[0002] In the above field, it is known to wedge objects of various shapes arranged in a parallelepiped-shaped package with external wedge systems such as cushions inflated with air inside the package after the object to be wedged has been placed.
[0003] Packaging devices are also known, in particular boxes with a cardboard box bottom covered with a heat-shrinkable plastic sheet. The objects to be packaged are placed on the box bottom and the thermal film is stretched over the objects in order to hold them against the bottom of the box.
[0004] These devices according to the prior art allow objects of all shapes and weights to be held. However, they have the disadvantages of using elements external to the packaging, of requiring, in the case of heat-shrinkable film, special tools or finally of using plastic materials that are difficult to recycle.
[0005] The need therefore arose for a simple holding device intended to be implemented in packaging, but also for packaging incorporating such a device which does not have these drawbacks and in particular which is easy to recycle after use.
[0006] In order to achieve these objectives, the invention relates to a package produced by folding and assembling a pre-cut blank which comprises panels forming a package body, closing means capable of closing the package body and a holding device comprising a bottom plate associated with holding means capable of holding at least one product (P) against the bottom plate. According to the invention, the bottom plate fits into the body of the package along a cross-section of the package and the holding means comprise at least one extension articulated on one side of the bottom plate and separated from the latter by at least one fold line, and the length of the extensions, along the axis perpendicular to the fold line separating the extension from the bottom plate, being substantially greater than the distance separating the fold line from an opposite side of the bottom panel. The integration of the holding device into the packaging allows for wedging. without resorting to external systems. In addition, the wedging provided by a folding extension allows adaptation to products of different sizes and shapes. In addition, the production of the holding means in the same material as the body of the packaging, for example in compact or corrugated cardboard, facilitates recycling.
[0007] According to a characteristic of the invention, the holding means comprise at least two articulated extensions located on two opposite sides of the base plate and separated from the latter by at least one fold line, the sum of the lengths, along the axis parallel to the fold line separating the extensions from the base plate, of each of the opposite extensions is substantially greater than the distance separating said two fold lines. The implementation of two articulated extensions makes it possible to increase the adaptability of the holding means to the shape of the product(s) to be shipped.
[0008] In a preferred variant of this characteristic, the length L5 of each extension is greater than half the total length of the bottom panel measured in a direction perpendicular to the fold line separating the bottom panel from the articulated extensions.
[0009] According to a characteristic of the invention, the packaging comprises fixing means capable of fixing at least one extension to another element of the packaging. The fixing means thus integrated into the packaging avoid having to resort to additional tools such as adhesive tape or staples or even glue applied during the implementation of the wedging means. Of course, the fixing means are not necessarily integrated into the packaging according to the invention.
[0010] According to a variant of this characteristic, the fixing means comprise a strip of glue arranged on at least one extension. Preferably, the strip of glue is covered with a peelable protection.
[0011] According to another characteristic of the invention, at least one extension is connected to the base plate by a folding line located inside the base plate and at a distance from its edges. This characteristic allows better adaptation of the holding device to different sizes of products to be wedged.
[0012] According to a characteristic of the invention, the bottom plate rests against at least three panels forming the body of the packaging. Thus the bottom plate rests on a panel forming at least in part the bottom of the packaging and the plate rests on at least two other panels of the packaging. For the purposes of the invention, “resting” refers to the contact of a large face of the bottom plate with a panel of the packaging but also to the contact of the edge of the periphery of the bottom plate with a panel of the packaging.
[0013] According to another characteristic of the invention, the bottom plate is of substantially rectangular shape and each extension comprises a flap for connection with the bottom plate, delimited by a cutting line and a folding line extending from two corners of the bottom plate and intersecting each other, and a fixing flap.
[0014] The invention also relates to a pre-cut blank for forming by folding a package comprising a series of at least three main panels separated by fold lines, two secondary panels arranged on two opposite sides of a main panel, a closing panel separated from a main panel by a fold line, a bottom plate which is, on the one hand, bordered on at least one side by at least one extension and, on the other hand, separated from a main panel by a fold line and a closing flap, separated from a main panel or from the bottom plate by a fold line (55). According to the invention, the bottom plate is directly connected to the main panel by a beach line or connected to the main panel by means of at least one connecting panel which is then separated from the main panel and the bottom plate by a fold line.
[0015] The invention also relates to a pre-cut blank for forming by folding a package comprising a series of four main panels separated by fold lines, two bottom panels, capable of forming the bottom of the package, and separated from two main panels spaced from a main panel, a closing panel, separated from a main panel by a fold line, and a bottom plate which is, on the one hand, bordered on at least one side by at least one extension and, on the other hand, separated from a connecting panel by a fold line, the connecting panel being separated from a main panel by a fold line.
[0016] According to a characteristic of the invention, the bottom plate comprises at least two articulated extensions located on two opposite sides of the bottom plate.
[0017] According to a characteristic of the invention, the blank comprises at least one substantially rectilinear strip of glue covered with a peelable protection located on at least one extension.
[0018] Of course, the various features, variants and embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other in various combinations to the extent that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive.
[0019] Furthermore, various other characteristics of the invention emerge from the appended description given with reference to the drawings which illustrate non-limiting forms of embodiment of the invention and where:

[0032] [Fig. 13] is a schematic perspective of a package incorporating a holding device formed from the blank illustrated in [Fig.6].
[0033] It should be noted that in these figures the structural and / or functional elements common to the different variants may have the same references.
[0034] In addition, on the flat views of pre-cut blanks for forming the devices and packaging in accordance with the invention:
[0035] the cutting lines and the contours of the pre-cut blank are represented in continuous lines,
[0036] the outgoing fold lines are represented by dotted lines,
[0037] the incoming fold lines are represented by mixed lines.
[0038] According to the invention, the fold lines can be produced in any appropriate manner adapted to the nature of the material constituting the blank, such as for example by creasing, half-measure cutting, dotted cutting or combinations of these techniques without this list being exhaustive or limiting. A fold line defined as re-entrant is a fold line that is at least re-entrant, that is to say that it can be both re-entrant and outgoing. The same applies to an outgoing fold line.
[0039] The invention aims to propose packaging integrating means for holding at least one product, particularly for shipping.
[0040] According to the invention, the packaging and its integrated holding device are obtained by shaping a pre-cut blank from a suitable material such as, for example, compact or corrugated cardboard or a plastic sheet. Thus, [Fig. 1] shows a first embodiment of a pre-cut blank F2 for forming a packaging comprising a holding device according to the invention.
[0041] The blank F2 has an internal face not visible in [Fig.l] and opposite the latter an external face 3. The internal face is intended to be oriented towards the inside of the packaging when the latter is in shape. The external face 3 of the blank is visible in [Fig.l]. The internal / external orientation makes it possible to define a folding direction of the blank F2. An outgoing fold is made towards the internal face 2, an inward fold is made towards the external face 3.
[0042] The pre-cut blank F2 comprises a part E constituting the packaging and a part 1 constituting the holding device.
[0043] Thus, part E, intended to form the body of the packaging, comprises a series of four main panels 20, 21, 22, 23 separated by retracting fold lines 24, 25, 26. The first main panel 20 comprises on two opposite edges two opposite main flaps 30 separated from the main panel 20 by a retracting fold line 31. The third main panel 22 carries on two opposite edges two secondary panels 32, separated from the main panel 22 by a retracting fold line 33. These secondary panels 32 comprise on two opposite free edges two secondary flaps 34, 35 separated from the respective flap 32 by a retracting fold line 36, 37. The first secondary flap 34 comprises on its free edge opposite the flap 32, two notches 38, the second flap flap 35 comprises, at the level of the re-entrant fold line 37 separating it from the flap 32, two openings 39 capable of receiving the notches 38 when the blank F2 is formed. The fourth main panel 23 comprises, on its edge opposite the third main panel 22, a closing panel 40, separated from the main panel 23 by a re-entrant fold line 4L. The closing panel 40 further comprises two ears 42, separated from the closing panel 40 by a re-entrant fold line 43.
[0044] The part 1 constituting the holding device comprises a bottom plate 4 from which two articulated extensions 5 extend. The two opposite articulated extensions 5 are separated from the bottom plate 2 by a fold line 7 offset towards the inside of the bottom plate 2 and smaller than the corresponding edge of the bottom plate 4. Thus, the bottom plate 4 has substantially the shape of an "H" lying on [Fig.l]. This embodiment is not limiting, but it makes it possible to adapt to small objects which can be held more effectively in the center of the holding device. It should be noted that the extensions 5 each have a length L5 , measured in a direction perpendicular to the fold lines 7, substantially greater than the distance L7 separating said fold lines 7.
[0045] Furthermore, in order to provide more flexibility to the articulated extensions 5, the extensions 5, according to this illustrated example, comprise fold lines 8, parallel to the fold lines 6, 7 separating the corresponding extensions 5 from the base plate 4. For reasons of readability of [Fig. 1], a single fold line 8 is shown on each extension 5. The implementation of such fold lines 8 is not strictly necessary for the production of packaging according to the invention insofar as the material constituting the blank can intrinsically have the necessary flexibility to allow the extensions 5 to be folded over each other on the product to be held as will appear subsequently.
[0046] When the blank F2 is formed into volume, the external face of the bottom plate 4 is intended to be located in the packaging while being oriented towards the bottom thereof. The blank F2 therefore further comprises a connecting panel 10, separated from the bottom plate 4 by an outgoing fold line 11 and separated from a main panel of the packaging by a re-entering fold line 12. This fold line 12 is in fact re-entering so as to turn the device 1 inside the packaging. The fold lines of the packaging, according to this first illustrated example, will therefore be re-entering since the external face 3 of the device is in contact with the inside of the packaging.
[0047] According to the example illustrated, the blank F2 comprises means for fixing the extensions 5 to one another which in the present case are formed by a rectilinear strip of glue covered with a peelable protection 9 which extends over two opposite articulated extensions 5 and the bottom plate 4. Such an embodiment of the fixing means is not strictly necessary. Thus, the fixing means could comprise a single point of glue protected by a peelable protection or any other mechanical fixing means making it possible to obtain a removable connection, such as for example a textile hook and loop system. The fixing means can also be external to the device 1 and not be integrated into the blank constituting the device 1. The fixing of the extensions 5 to one another can be done by means of adhesive tape or staples.
[0048] The blank F2 is formed in the following manner in order to obtain a package visible in [Fig. 2]. The outgoing and incoming fold lines 11, 12 separating the connecting panel 10 from the first main panel 20 and the holding device 1 are formed in order to return the holding device 1 towards the package. The incoming fold lines 36, 37 separating the secondary flaps 34, 35 from the secondary panels 32 are formed, as well as the incoming fold lines 31 separating the main flaps 30 from the first main panel 20 and the incoming fold lines 24, 25, 26 separating the main panels 20, 21, 22, 23, in order to block the flaps main panels 30 inside the secondary panels 32, the secondary flap 34 carrying the notches 38 is folded down last in order to secure the structure by engaging the notches 38 in the corresponding openings 39.
[0049] The packaging body may have a simpler structure. The secondary flaps 34, 35 provide rigidity to the structure, but are not necessary for the formation of a packaging body.
[0050] Figures 2 to 4 show the placement of a product P in the holding device within the packaging. Once placed on the base plate 4, the articulated extensions 5 are folded down and fixed one on the other in order to hold the product P.
[0051] [Fig. 5] illustrates an alternative embodiment of a blank F3 constituting a package incorporating a holding device according to the invention. This package is called an automatic bottom package.
[0052] The blank F3 comprises a constituent part of the packaging and a part integrating the blank of a holding device 1.
[0053] The blank F3 comprises a series of four main panels 20, 21, 22, 23 linked together by outgoing fold lines 24, 25, 26. Two main panels 21, 23 spaced from a main panel 22 are each linked to a bottom panel 45 by a re-entering fold line 46. The other two main panels 20, 22 are bordered on two opposite sides by flaps 47, 48 separated from the corresponding main panel 20, 22 by a re-entering fold line 49, 50. The main panel 23 at the end opposite the holding device 1 comprises, on its edge opposite the adjacent main panel 22, a closing strip 51, separated from said main panel 23 by a re-entering fold line 52.This same main panel 23 comprises, on the edge opposite the bottom panel 45, a closing panel 40, separated from said main panel 23 by a re-entrant fold line 4L. According to this illustrated example, the closing panel comprises a tear strip 52 intended to facilitate the opening of the packaging.
[0054] The second main panel 21 is also connected to a connecting panel 10 by a re-entrant fold line 12. The connecting panel 10 is connected to a holding device 1 by an outgoing fold line 11. The holding device 1 integrated into the blank F3 and visible in [Fig.5] is similar to that integrated into the blank F2 visible in [Fig.1].
[0055] The advantage of this design makes it possible to simply deposit a rectilinear strip of glue on the blank F3. A strip of glue covered with a peelable protection 9 is located along the holding device 1, in the same way as on the blank F2, but also on the closing panel 40.
[0056] The blank F3 is formed in the following manner. The inward and outward fold lines 11, 12 bordering the connecting panel 10 are formed in order to turn the holding device 1 against the inside of the body of the packaging. The packaging is then mounted in a known manner. The folding lines 24, 25, 26 are formed so as to partly constitute the body of the packaging by the main panels 20, 21, 22, 23. To do this, the closing strip 51 is fixed on the main panel 20. The folding lines 49, 50 separating the flaps 47, 48 of the two main panels 20, 21 are formed, then the folding lines 46 separating the bottom panels 45 from the other two main panels 21, 23 are formed so as to form the bottom of the body of the packaging. The product(s) P to be held are placed in the holding device 1 within the body of the packaging which is closed by means of the closing panel 40. The packaging can be opened easily thanks to the tear-off strip 52.
[0057] [Fig. 6] illustrates an alternative embodiment of a blank F4 constituting a package incorporating a holding device 1 according to the invention. This embodiment is different from those previously described, in particular in that the device 1 is not required to be turned towards the inside of the package. Thus, the internal face 2 of the device 1 is in continuity with the internal face of the body of the package. The main folding lines will therefore be in the same direction.
[0058] To form the body of the packaging, the blank F4 comprises a series of four main panels 20, 21, 22, 23 separated by outgoing fold lines 65, 66, 67. The first main panel 20, connected to the base plate 4, comprises on two opposite edges flaps 68 separated from the main panel 20 by an outgoing fold line 69. The third main panel 22 also comprises secondary panels 32 separated from the main panel by an outgoing fold line 70. These secondary panels 32 are bordered on two opposite sides by secondary flaps 34, 35, separated from the corresponding secondary panel 32 by outgoing fold lines 71, 72.
[0059] According to this example, the blank F4 also incorporates a holding device 1 comprising a bottom plate 4 of substantially parallelepipedal shape bordered, on the one hand, on two opposite sides by two articulated extensions 5 which are connected to the bottom plates by outgoing fold lines 7, and on the other hand, on the other two opposite sides by a closing flap 54 and by a main panel 20. The bottom plate 4 is separated from the closing flap 54 by an outgoing fold line 55 and separated from the main panel 20 by an outgoing fold line 56. According to this illustrated example, the bottom plate 4 comprises openings 57.
[0060] The articulated extensions 5, according to this particular embodiment, comprise a connecting flap 60 which comprises a common edge with the bottom plate 4 and which is delimited by a cutting line 61 and an outgoing folding line 62 which extend from the common edge between the bottom plate 4 and the extension 5 and which intersect inside the extension 5 giving it a triangular shape. The remaining part of the extension 5 forms the fixing flap 63. A re-entrant fold line 64 extends from the crossing described above towards the opposite free edge of the extension 5, being perpendicular to the fold line 7 separating the bottom plate 4 from the extensions 5.
[0061] The advantage of the design of such a blank is that it is possible to deposit a strip of glue there rectilinearly on each side of the blank F4. Two strips of glue covered with a peelable protection 9 are located across each side of the blank F4. Each strip of glue is therefore on each of the secondary panels 32 as well as on their respective secondary flaps 34, 35, but also on each of the flaps 68 of a main panel 20 and finally on each of the fixing flaps 63.
[0062] Figures 7 to 13 illustrate the shaping of blank F4. First, the outgoing fold lines 62 separating the fixing flaps 63 from the connecting flaps 60 are formed in order to turn the fixing flaps 63 over, so that the glue strip is located on the face opposite the face carrying the product P. The product P is then placed on the bottom plate 4 and the fixing flaps 63 are folded over each other and fixed after removing the peelable protection 9, in order to hold the product P against the bottom plate 4. Then, the outgoing fold lines 65, 66 separating the first two main panels 20, 21 are formed, at the same time as the outgoing fold lines 69 separating the flaps 68 from the first main panel 20 and the outgoing fold line 55 separating the closing flap 54 from the bottom plate 4. Finally, the fold lines 66, 67 separating the last three main panels 21,22,23 are formed. The peelable protections 9 of the secondary panels 32 and the secondary flaps 34, 35 are removed and the fold lines 70, 71, 72 separating the secondary panels 32 from the main panels 22 and the secondary flaps 34, 35 from the secondary panels 32 are formed so as to securely close the packaging.
[0063] Of course, various other modifications may be made to the invention within the scope of the appended claims.
