Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Sealing device between an opening and a frame of a door Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of sealing devices implemented between an opening and a frame of a door separating a first environment from a second environment. One objective sought is to ensure perfect sealing between the first environment and the second environment. State of the art
[0002] Many applications require two environments that communicate by means of a door to be preserved from each other, this door also allowing their physical separation in a sealed manner. This is for example the case for separating a clean room, a viral, bacterial or chemical environment or an area exposed to toxic gases or fumes, from the external environment. This is also the case on installations allowing the treatment of products placed in an enclosure and introduced into it thanks to the presence of an access door, for example an ozone treatment installation.
[0003] This physical separation between the two environments requires the presence of a sealing device which, in many cases, is reduced to a simple compressed seal between the opening and the door frame. The risks of contamination of the ambient environment by the risky environment, due for example to viruses, bacteria or toxic fumes or, conversely, of the healthy environment (for example, a clean room) to be preserved from the ambient environment, therefore remain present for many installations. Summary of the invention
[0004] The present invention aims to design a sealing device between a wall of an opening leaf and a wall of a door frame which ensures optimized sealing in order to physically separate in a sealed manner a first environment and a second environment by means of said door, when the latter is closed. The term "door" covers any opening / closing device composed of an opening leaf and a frame, the opening leaf being movable relative to the frame, for example by pivoting or sliding, to be moved into an open position allowing the first environment to communicate with the second environment or into a closed position to physically separate the first environment from the second environment. It may for example be a door as such, or a hatch, a sliding glass wall, a porthole door, of a removable plate or cover obstructing an opening or passage in a closed position and allowing the two environments to communicate in an open position.
[0005] The invention relates to a sealing device between a wall of an opening leaf and a wall of a frame which comprises at least two semi-rigid seals each having in a transverse section plane a block shape having a first length and at least one flexible seal having in a transverse section plane a tongue shape having a second length, the second length being greater than the first length. The term "semi-rigid" means a seal which has a Shore hardness of between 50 and 100 in order to maintain the shape of the semi-rigid seal when it is put under compression. Similarly, the term "flexible" means a seal which has a Shore hardness of between 25 and 50 in order to ensure deformation and the pressing of the flexible seal against the wall of the opening leaf or the frame during an overpressure in the chamber.
[0006] The first environment and the second environment may be at the same pressure, in particular atmospheric pressure, or at different pressures. According to the sealing device which is the subject of the invention, the two semi-rigid seals are spaced apart from each other and the flexible seal is placed between the two semi-rigid seals and associated with one of the two semi-rigid seals. The two semi-rigid seals and the flexible seal have the aforementioned characteristics. Said at least one flexible seal has an end portion projecting from said at least one semi-rigid seal with which it is associated, so that closing the opening compresses the at least one semi-rigid seal between the wall of the opening and the wall of the frame and, concomitantly, curves the at least one flexible seal on the side of its end portion to press it against the wall of the opening or the wall of the frame, depending on the configuration.Furthermore, the sealing device comprises a compression system configured to adjust the pressure to a first value PI in the space between the individual semi-rigid seal, i.e. the one not associated with the flexible seal, and said flexible seal.
[0007] Preferably, the individual semi-rigid seal is placed on the side of the environment to be preserved from the risky environment and the flexible seal and the semi-rigid seal associated with it are placed on the side of the risky environment, the value of the pressure PI will be higher than the pressure in the environment to be preserved and also than the pressure in the risky environment. Conversely, the individual semi-rigid seal could be placed on the side of the risky environment and the flexible seal and the semi-rigid seal associated with it would then be placed on the side of the environment to be preserved from the risky environment, the value of the pressure PI always being higher than the pressure in the environment to be preserved and also than the pressure in the risky environment.
[0008] Those skilled in the art will also understand that depending on the situation, the environment to be preserved and the environment at risk differ. According to a first example, the environment to be preserved is the ambient or external environment and the environment at risk is a toxic or infectious environment. Conversely, according to a second example, the environment at risk is the ambient or external environment and the environment to be preserved is a clean room.
[0009] The invention is not limited to the presence of two semi-rigid seals and a flexible seal, the sealing device being able to reproduce in cascade, one or more times, the presence of a flexible seal associated with a semi-rigid seal arranged one after the other with spacings, the pressures in the spaces between the semi-rigid seals and the flexible seals being decreasing starting from the preserved environment, towards the risky environment. Thus, according to one embodiment, the sealing device according to the invention comprises three semi-rigid seals successively spaced from one another and two flexible seals placed respectively between the three semi-rigid seals and associated with two successive semi-rigid seals, the compression system being configured to adjust the pressure to a first value PI in a first space between the individual semi-rigid seal, i.e. the one which is not associated with the flexible seal, and the first flexible seal associated with a first semi-rigid seal and to adjust the pressure to a second value P2 in a second space between the first semi-rigid seal and the second flexible seal associated with a second semi-rigid seal, the first pressure value PI being greater than the second pressure value P2.
[0010] According to another embodiment, the sealing device according to the invention comprises four semi-rigid seals successively spaced from one another and three flexible seals placed respectively between the four semi-rigid seals and associated with three successive semi-rigid seals, the compression system being configured to adjust the pressure to a first value P1 in a first space between the individual semi-rigid seal, i.e. the one not associated with the flexible seal, and the first flexible seal associated with a first semi-rigid seal, to adjust the pressure to a second value P2 in a second space between the first semi-rigid seal and the second flexible seal associated with a second semi-rigid seal and to adjust the pressure to a third value P3 in a third space between the second semi-rigid seal and the third flexible seal associated with a third semi-rigid seal, the first pressure value P1 being greater than the second pressure value P2 and the second pressure value P2 being greater than the third pressure value P3.
[0011] According to a preferred embodiment of the sealing device, the first pressure value PI is eight hundred and twenty millimeters of mercury (820 mm Hg, or 1093 hPa), the second pressure value P2 is eight hundred millimeters of mercury (800 mm Hg, or 1067 hPa) and the third pressure value P3 is seven hundred and eighty millimeters of mercury (820 mm Hg, or 1093 hPa). meters of mercury (780 mm Hg, or 1040 hPa). This implementation is particularly suitable for a first environment and a second environment at atmospheric pressure, i.e. a pressure of 760 millimeters of mercury (760 mm Hg, or 1013 hPa).
[0012] According to a preferred embodiment, the pressure difference between the first pressure value P1 and the second pressure value P2 is twenty millimeters of mercury (20 mm Hg, or 2666 Pa). In the same way, the pressure difference between the second pressure value P2 and the third pressure value P3 is twenty millimeters of mercury (20 mm Hg, or 2666.45 Pa).
[0013] According to one embodiment of the sealing device according to the invention, the compression system comprises a pressure control member between two successive semi-rigid seals, preferably a pressure switch. Thus, according to the design of the sealing device, said control member makes it possible to control the first pressure value P1 (in the presence of one, two or three spaces), the second pressure value P2 (in the presence of two or three spaces) and the third pressure value P3 (in the presence of three spaces). Preferably, the sealing device according to the invention additionally comprises an alarm system configured to signal a pressure anomaly between two successive semi-rigid seals.
[0014] The invention also relates to an installation comprising an opening and a frame separating a first environment from a second environment, said installation comprising a sealing device arranged between a wall of the opening and a wall of the frame, said walls being able to cooperate during the closing of the opening by means of said sealing device which comprises the characteristics of any one of the aforementioned characteristics. It may be, for example, an installation comprising a clean room or a toxic or infectious environment, separated from the external environment by an airlock door, or a machine carrying out a treatment on products in an enclosure, by means of a harmful liquid or gas, the enclosure being separated from the external environment by a door.
[0015] According to one embodiment of the installation which is the subject of the invention, this is an installation for decontaminating articles with ozone which comprises a sealed box defining an enclosure and comprising a sealed opening and closing door, which allows access to the enclosure. The decontamination installation also comprises a system for producing ozone in the enclosure, an ozone treatment system, the sealing device being implemented between the opening of the door and the frame of the door arranged on the box. [0022] In the remainder of the description, the same references are used to designate the same characteristics according to the various embodiment variants, without indication to the contrary in the text.
[0023] In [Fig. 1], a door 1 is partially illustrated which comprises an opening 2 and a frame 3, the door 1 allowing a physical separation between a first environment 4 and a second environment 5. The first environment 4 is for example the ambient environment and the second environment 5 is for example a toxic or infectious room or enclosure. In the closed position as illustrated in [Fig.l], a sealing device 6 ensures a seal between the edge 7 of the opening 2 and the edge 8 of the frame 3. The opening and closing of the door 1 can be done for example by pivoting the opening 2 relative to the frame 3 by means of hinges (not illustrated), or by sliding the opening 2 relative to the frame 3 by means of a slide. The sealing device 6 is arranged between the edge 7 of the opening 2 and the edge 8 of the frame 3.
[0024] In [Fig.l], the sealing device 6 comprises an individual semi-rigid seal 11, with which no flexible seal is associated, and a first semi-rigid seal 12 with which a first flexible seal 13 is associated. The individual semi-rigid seal 11 is identical to the first semi-rigid seal 12, except for the presence of the first flexible seal 13 associated with said first semi-rigid seal 12. In [Fig.l], the individual semi-rigid seal 11, the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the first flexible seal 13 are secured to the edge 7 of the opening 2, for example by gluing or by force fitting the first end parts 11a, 12a, 13a respectively of the individual semi-rigid seal 11, the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the first flexible seal 13, into the edge 7 of the opening 2. The first end portion 12a of the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the first end portion 13a of the first flexible seal 13 may be assembled together to achieve said association, for example by gluing or welding; this association may also be obtained due to said securing of the first end portions 12a, 13a, juxtaposed, with the edge 7 of the opening 2.
[0025] In [Fig.l], the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first semi-rigid seal 12 have, in a cross-sectional plane illustrated in said [Fig.l], a block shape which is preferably rectangular, a square or oval shape being possible however. The first flexible seal 13 has, in this cross-sectional plane, a tongue shape whose length is greater than that of the first semi-rigid seal 12 so that the second end portion 13b of the first flexible seal 10 largely exceeds the second end portion 12b of the first semi-rigid seal 12 in a released position of said seals where the door 1 is in the open position (not illustrated). Thus, when the opening 2 closes the frame 3, the second end portions 11b, 12b of the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and of the first semi-rigid seal 12 press against the edge 8 of the frame 3, which compresses the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first semi-rigid seal 12, while the second end portion 13b of the first flexible seal 10 deforms to give a curved shape to said first flexible seal 13, as shown in [Fig.l]. The implementation could be reversed, the individual semi-rigid seal 11, the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the first flexible seal 13 being able to be secured to the edge 8 of the frame 3 and bear against the edge 7 of the opening 2, when the door 1 is closed. The individual semi-rigid seal 11 is distant from the first semi-rigid seal 12, thus leaving a first space 14 between the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first flexible seal 13 associated with the first semi-rigid seal 12.
[0026] According to this embodiment of [Fig.l], the sealing device 6 comprises a compression system 15 comprising a first compressor 16 and a first circuit 17 which opens into the first space 14, when the opening 2 is closed. In [Fig.l], the compression system 15 is arranged on the frame 3 and the first circuit 17 opens onto the edge 8 of said frame 3. In a variant, the compression system 15 could be arranged on the opening 2, in which case the first circuit 17 would open onto the edge 7 of said opening 2. When the door 1 is closed, the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first semi-rigid seal 12 are compressed between the edge 7 of the opening 2 and the edge 8 of the frame 3 and the first flexible seal 13 deforms and takes on a curved shape, as shown in [Fig.l].The compression system 15 makes it possible to increase the value of the pressure PI in the first space 14, which makes it possible to press the first flexible seal 13 against the edge 8 of the frame 3 and against the first semi-rigid seal 12, said pressure value PI being greater than the values. pressure in the first environment 4 and in the second environment 5. For example, when the first environment 4 and the second environment 5 are at atmospheric pressure, i.e. 760 millimeters of mercury (760 mm Hg, or 1013 hPa), the PI pressure value will preferably be set to 780 millimeters of mercury (780 mm Hg, or 1040 hPa).
[0027] The compression system 15 may additionally comprise a first control member 18 for the pressure between the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first flexible seal 13, preferably a pressure switch, shown diagrammatically [Fig. 1], which records the pressure value PI in the first space 14. In the event of an abnormal variation in the pressure value PI below a reference value, for example set at 770 millimeters of mercury (770 mm Hg, or 1027 hPa), the compression system 15 triggers an alarm system 19 configured to signal the pressure anomaly. This alarm system 19 may, for example, consist of a siren, an indicator light, a signaling screen or a combination of these systems.
[0028] [Fig. 2] takes up the characteristics described previously for [Fig. 1] and adds a second semi-rigid seal 20 associated with a second flexible seal 21, with a spacing relative to the first semi-rigid seal 12. The second semi-rigid seal 20 and the second flexible seal 21 are identical respectively to the first semi-rigid seal 12 and to the first flexible seal 13. The compression system 15 additionally comprises a second compressor 22 and a second circuit 23 which opens into a second space 24 when the opening 2 is closed, said second space 24 being located between the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the second flexible seal 21 associated with the second semi-rigid seal 20. In [Fig. 2], the compression system 15 is arranged on the frame 3 and the first circuit 17 and the second circuit 23 open onto the edge 8 of said frame 3.In a variant, the compression system 15 could be arranged on the opening 2, in which case the first circuit 17 and the second circuit 23 would open onto the edge 7 of said opening 2.
[0029] In [Fig. 2], when the door 1 is closed, the individual semi-rigid seal 11, the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the second semi-rigid seal 20 are compressed between the edge 7 of the opening 2 and the edge 8 of the frame 3 and the first flexible seal 13 and the second flexible seal 21 deform and take on a curved shape, as shown in [Fig. 2]. The compression system 15 makes it possible to increase the pressure value PI in the first space 14 and the pressure value P2 in the second space 24, while maintaining a pressure value PI greater than the pressure value P2, which makes it possible to press the first flexible seal 13 against the edge 8 of the frame 3 and against the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the second flexible seal 21 against the edge 8 of the frame 3 and against the second semi-rigid seal 20, said pressure values PI and P2 being greater than the pressure values in the first environment 4 and in the second environment 5. For example, when the first environment 4 and the second environment 5 are at atmospheric pressure, i.e. 760 millimeters of mercury (760 mm Hg, or 1013 hPa), the pressure value PI will preferably be set to 800 millimeters of mercury (800 mm Hg, or 1067 hPa) and the pressure value P2 will preferably be set to 780 millimeters of mercury (780 mm Hg, or 1040 hPa).
[0030] The compression system 15 may additionally comprise: - a first control member 18 of the pressure between the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first flexible seal 13, preferably a pressure switch, shown diagrammatically [Fig.2], which records the pressure value PI in the first space 14; - a second control member 25 of the pressure between the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the second flexible seal 21, preferably a pressure switch, shown diagrammatically [Fig.2], which records the pressure value P2 in the second space 24.
[0031] In the event of an abnormal variation in the pressure value PI and / or the pressure value P2, below reference values, for example set at 790 millimeters of mercury (790 mm Hg, or 1053 hPa) for the first pressure value PI and at 770 millimeters of mercury (770 mm Hg, or 1027 hPa) for the second pressure value P2, the compression system 15 triggers an alarm system 19 configured to signal the pressure anomaly. This alarm system 19 may for example consist of a siren, an indicator light, a signaling screen or a combination of these systems.
[0032] [Fig. 3] takes up the characteristics described previously for figures 1 and 2 and adds thereto a third semi-rigid seal 26 associated with a third flexible seal 27, with a spacing relative to the second semi-rigid seal 20. The third semi-rigid seal 26 and the third flexible seal 27 are identical respectively to the first and second semi-rigid seals 12, 20 and to the first and second flexible seals 13, 21. The compression system 15 additionally comprises a third compressor 28 and a third circuit 29 which opens into a third space 30 when the opening 2 is closed, said third space 30 being located between the second semi-rigid seal 20 and the third flexible seal 27 associated with the third semi-rigid seal 26. In [Fig. 3], the compression system 15 is arranged on the frame 3 and the first circuit 17, the second circuit 23 and the third circuit 29 open onto edge 8 of said frame 3.In a variant, the compression system 15 could be arranged on the opening 2, in which case the first circuit 17, the second circuit 23 and the third circuit 29 would open onto the edge 7 of said opening 2.
[0033] In [Fig. 3], when the door 1 is closed, the individual semi-rigid seal 11, the first semi-rigid seal 12, the second semi-rigid seal 20 and the third semi-rigid seal 26 are compressed between the edge 7 of the opening 2 and the edge 8 of the frame 3 and the first flexible seal 13, the second flexible seal 21 and the third flexible seal 27 are deform and take a curved shape, as shown in [Fig. 4]. The compression system 15 makes it possible to increase the pressure value PI in the first space 14, the pressure value P2 in the second space 24 and the pressure value P3 in the third space 30, while maintaining a pressure value PI greater than the pressure value P2, itself greater than the pressure value P3, which makes it possible to press the first flexible seal 13 against the edge 8 of the frame 3 and against the first semi-rigid seal 12, the second flexible seal 21 against the edge 8 of the frame 3 and against the second semi-rigid seal 20 and the third flexible seal 27 against the edge 8 of the frame and against the third semi-rigid seal 26, said pressure values PI, P2 and P3 being greater than the pressure values in the first environment 4 and in the second environment 5.For example, when the first environment 4 and the second environment 5 are at atmospheric pressure, i.e. 760 millimeters of mercury (760 mm Hg, i.e. 1013 hPa), the pressure value P1 will preferably be set to 820 millimeters of mercury (820 mm Hg, i.e. 1093 hPa), the pressure value P2 will preferably be set to 800 millimeters of mercury (800 mm Hg, i.e. 1067 hPa) and the pressure value P3 will preferably be set to 780 millimeters of mercury (780 mm Hg, i.e. 1040 hPa).
[0034] The compression system 15 may additionally comprise: - a first control member 18 of the pressure between the individual semi-rigid seal 11 and the first flexible seal 13, preferably a pressure switch, shown diagrammatically [Fig.3], which records the pressure value PI in the first space 14; - a second control member 25 of the pressure between the first semi-rigid seal 12 and the second flexible seal 21, preferably a pressure switch, shown diagrammatically [Fig.3], which records the pressure value P2 in the second space 24; - a third control member 31 of the pressure between the second semi-rigid seal 20 and the third flexible seal 27, preferably a pressure switch, shown diagrammatically [Fig.3], which records the pressure value P3 in the third space 30.
[0035] In the event of an abnormal variation in the pressure value PI, the pressure value P2 and / or the pressure value P3, below reference values, for example set at 810 millimeters of mercury (810 mm Hg, or 1080 hPa) for the first pressure value PI, at 790 millimeters of mercury (790 mm Hg, or 1053 hPa) for the second pressure value P2 and at 770 millimeters of mercury (770 mm Hg, or 1027 hPa) for the third pressure value P3, the compression system 15 triggers an alarm system 19 configured to signal the pressure anomaly. This alarm system 19 may for example consist of a siren, an indicator light, a signaling screen or a combination of these systems.
[0036] [Fig.4] shows a variant which reproduces in all respects the characteristics of [Fig.3] described above, except for the fact that the sealing device 6 is not arranged between edge 7 of opening 2 and edge 8 of frame 3, but between a face 32 of opening 2 and a face 33 of frame 3, door 1 being a sliding door.
[0037] The semi-rigid seals 11, 12, 20, 26 have a Shore hardness on a scale of 0 to 100, between 50 and 100 and the flexible seals 13, 21, 27 have a Shore hardness on a scale of 0 to 100, between 25 and 50 allowing them to undergo deformations of 30 to 50% and, thus, to ensure a seal due to its flexibility and the overpressures created in the spaces 14, 24, 30 between said semi-rigid seals 11, 12, 20 and the flexible seals 13, 21, 27. Preferably, the material chosen for all these semi-rigid seals 11, 12, 20, 26 and flexible seals 13, 21, 27 is ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM).
[0038] The sealing device 6 can be implemented on any type of installation requiring the physical and sealed separation of a first environment 4 from a second environment 5, by means of a door 1. In an implementation shown schematically in [Fig. 5], it is an installation 100 for decontaminating articles 101 with ozone which comprises a sealed box 102, defining an enclosure 103 and comprising a sealed opening and closing door 1 allowing access to the enclosure 103.
[0039] In [Fig.5], the installation 100 also comprises a production system of ozone 104 in the enclosure 103 and an ozone treatment system 105. The ozone production system 104 consists of an ozonator (not shown) which transforms oxygen into triatomic oxygen and makes it possible to obtain a mixture of air and ozone whose percentages will be defined according to a volume, time and concentration scale adapted to the enclosure 103 of the box 102. Ozone has a very high bactericidal and virucidal power acting by oxidation; it is thus able to destroy viruses whatever their mutation. The ozone treatment system 105 comprises a vacuum cleaner (not shown), preferably positioned in the lower part of the enclosure 103, which extracts the ozone from the enclosure 103 and a thermal catalyst (not shown) which transforms the triatomic oxygen into oxygen. Ozone is advantageously very ecological because it uses oxygen to transform into triatomic oxygen and transform back into oxygen after passing through the thermal catalyst. At the end of the decontamination cycle, the ozonated air present in enclosure 103 is sucked in and sent through the thermal catalyst which transforms the unconsumed ozone back into oxygen in order to comply with discharge standards.
[0040] In [Fig.5], the sealing device 6 is implemented between the opening 2 of the door 1 and the frame 3 of the door 1, said frame 3 being formed on the upper wall 106 of the box 102. The sealing device 6 will be arranged on the peripheral edge 107 of the internal face 2a of the opening 2 and will bear against the contour 108 forming the opening 109 on the upper wall 106.
[0041] The installation 100 also comprises a cage 110 having, in [Fig. 5], the shape of a mesh drum provided with an access hatch 111 for the introduction and removal of the articles 101 to be treated with ozone, said cage 110 being activated in rotation along an axis XI to agitate the articles 101 and treat all their surfaces with ozone. Of course, the installation 100 could take other forms while ensuring decontamination of the articles 101 with ozone and comprising a sealing device 6 between the opening 2 and the frame 3 of the door 1 providing access to the enclosure 103 of the box 102.
[0042] Variants are conceivable within the scope of the invention, for example as regards the association of the semi-rigid seal 12, 20, 26 and the flexible seal 13, 21, 27. In the preceding examples, the semi-rigid seal and the flexible seal are two separate parts associated by assembly with each other (gluing or welding, for example) and / or with the wall of the frame 2, or even the wall of the opening 3, depending on the arrangement provided. The semi-rigid seal 12, 20, 26 and the flexible seal 13, 21, 27 may consist of a single two-material molded part, the first material implementing the semi-rigid seal and the second material implementing the flexible seal, or even a single-material seal, in which case the flexibility and the semi-rigidity will depend on the thickness of the block shape and the thickness of the tab shape.
