Description

Title of the invention: HIDDEN COVERING SYSTEM COMPRISING A FAST CHARGING CONNECTOR TECHNICAL FIELD AND PRIOR ART

[0001] The present invention relates to an electrically actuated concealment system for moving a concealment element.

[0002] An electrically operated blackout installation comprises a blackout element such as a shutter or blind, and a blackout system comprising an actuator intended to roll up or unroll the blind or shutter, a rechargeable battery to power the actuator. Some installations comprise a photovoltaic panel connected to the battery to recharge it, which means that there is no need for a mains power supply near the area where the blackout installation is installed. However, the battery can only be recharged when the photovoltaic panel is sufficiently lit.

[0003] It is therefore desirable to provide for the ability to recharge the battery by a charging device, for example a rapid one, designated a power bank in English terminology, to compensate for the insufficiency of electrical energy supplied by the photovoltaic panel, for example in the case of particularly prolonged rainy weather and / or intensive use of the installation and / or in the presence of solar obstacles. To carry out a recharge by a charging device other than the photovoltaic panel, it is generally required to dismantle the installation to access the battery connector, and allow its connection to the charging device. Such an operation is therefore complex, especially since the battery is difficult to access. In addition, the risk of damage to the installation is not negligible due to the assembly and disassembly. Presentation of the invention

[0004] It is therefore an aim of the present invention to provide a concealment system powered by a photovoltaic panel allowing a battery recharging operation simplified by a power supply device other than the photovoltaic panel.

[0005] The aim stated above is achieved by a concealment system comprising an actuator for driving between several of a concealment element, at least one battery for powering the actuator, an electrical power supply device configured to recharge the battery, said device comprising at least one photovoltaic panel. The electrical power supply device comprises a first connector electrically connecting the electrical power supply device to the battery to recharge it via the photovoltaic panel, and a second connector allowing the connecting an external power supply device to the battery to recharge the battery instead of the photovoltaic panel or simultaneously.

[0006] This second connector then allows a quick and simplified connection of an external electrical power supply device to the battery without having to dismantle the system, in particular the actuator. Indeed, the electrical power supply device equipped with a photovoltaic panel is easily accessible from outside the system, since it is arranged so as to be exposed to light radiation.

[0007] The power supply device comprises a housing carrying the photovoltaic panel and the second connector which is accessible from outside the housing. The power supply device forms a module easily connectable to the battery pack and easily accessible for rapid recharging of the battery pack. In addition, this complete power supply device is easily positionable either on the box of the occultation system or on the glazing.

[0008] Preferably, the external power supply device is a fast charging device such as a power bank or connected to the mains. This charging can then be easily carried out by anyone.

[0009] Furthermore, by arranging the second connector on the power supply device, the second connector is connected to the power supply interface unit of the solar energy power supply device and charging is controlled by this interface. The implementation of an interface unit dedicated to charging by an external power supply device is advantageously eliminated.

[0010] Preferably, the electrical power supply interface unit comprises means for protecting the photovoltaic panel against the voltage / current delivered by the external power supply device, these means comprising for example at least one diode.

[0011] In a particularly advantageous manner, the second connector is a USB type connector, very advantageously of the USB-C® type and the actuator and the power supply devices preferably support PD technology for Power Delivery in English terminology or Energy Supply, and even more preferably PD technology and PPS technology for Programmable Power Supply in English terminology or Programmable Power Supply, associated with the USB standard version 3.0 and following.

[0012] PD power delivery technology allows more power to be delivered to the battery and allows for faster charging than a connector not compatible with this technology.

[0013] Since the USB 3.0 PD PPS standard allows the charging power to be adjusted according to the battery's needs, this results in reduced overheating, longer battery life of the battery and optimal recharging.

[0014] The implementation of a USB-C® connector very advantageously allows data exchange with the actuator. It is then possible to use this second connector to collect information on the system and / or ensure its adjustment. For example, the connector can be used to update the software in particular, or to communicate information to the actuator on its environment, such as the azimuth of the facade, geolocation, etc.

[0015] An object of the present application is then a concealment system comprising an actuator for driving between several positions a solar protection or concealment screen, and an electrical power supply unit for said actuator, the actuator comprising an electric motor, a reducer, at least one battery powering the electric motor, a control circuit, the electrical power supply unit being configured to recharge the at least one electric battery, said power supply unit comprising a housing, at least one photovoltaic panel carried by at least one face of the housing, an electrical power interface unit configured to manage the recharging of the battery by the photovoltaic panel, said photovoltaic panel being connected to the electrical power interface unit by a first connector. The power supply unit also comprises a second connector connected to the power supply interface unit configured to at least allow connection to an external power supply device in order to recharge the electric battery instead of the photovoltaic panel or with the photovoltaic panel, the second connector being carried by the housing so as to be directly accessible from the outside of said housing, the power supply unit also comprising means for electrically protecting the photovoltaic panel with respect to the external power supply device.

[0016] Preferably, the power supply unit comprises means for protecting the second connector against water and dust.

[0017] In an advantageous example, the second connector is a connector meeting the USB-C® standard. The second connector may be configured to transmit information using a PD (Power Delivery) energy supply technology and possibly using a PPS (Programmable Power Supply) technology. The second connector is advantageously configured to connect a configuration device and to allow an exchange of data between the configuration device and the control circuit and / or the interface unit. The occultation system may comprise at least one sensor of at least one external condition, for example the level of illumination or the temperature, and the system is advantageously configured to transmit the data to the configuration device via the second connector.

[0018] In an exemplary embodiment, the power supply device comprises several photovoltaic panels connected in parallel.

[0019] Another subject of the present application is a screening installation comprising a screening system according to the invention, a screen secured to the actuator to be driven by the latter, a box housing the actuator and at least partly the screen. The electrical power supply unit may be arranged at least partly outside the box so that the photovoltaic panel is subjected to light radiation.

[0020] Very advantageously, the arrangement of the power supply unit is such that the second connector is accessible from outside the trunk.

[0021] In one example, the housing is intended to be fixed to an exterior face of the trunk. In another example, the housing is intended to be fixed to a window intended to be obscured.

[0022] The housing may be formed by a part of said trunk. Brief description of the drawings

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0024] In [Fig. 1A] and [Fig. 1B], a schematic representation of an example of a concealment system according to the invention can be seen.

[0025] In [Fig.2A] and [Fig.2B], we can see an example of a screening installation according to the invention installed in an opening of a building.

[0026] In [Fig.3], we can see an example of an electrical diagram of the occultation system.

[0027] The occultation system S is intended to drive a occultation element between several positions. The occultation element forms for example a sun protection screen (visible in [Fig.2A]), such as a blind, shutter or other. The occultation element is not part of the occultation system.

[0028] In Figures 2A and 2B, the screening installation can be seen comprising the screening system, the screening element V and a box CO housing the screening system and at least part of the screening element. The screening installation is mounted in or near an opening O to be screened. The opening is made through a wall M of a dwelling.

[0029] The system comprises an actuator A1 which comprises a casing 2 of generally cylindrical shape of revolution of axis X. The actuator A1 comprises a torque head or support (not shown), the casing 2 of axis X, an electric motor 4 of axis X, a reducer 6. The reducer 6 is extended by an output shaft 10 extending along the axis X intended to drive in rotation an element (not shown) belonging to the screen or a winding tube on which the screen is mounted.

[0030] The system S also includes a rechargeable battery pack 8 intended to provide the electrical power to the electric motor useful for its rotation.

[0031] In the example shown, the battery pack 8 is arranged inside the actuator casing and is connected to the motor. Alternatively, the battery pack is located outside the actuator, in the shutter box, and is electrically connected to the actuator.

[0032] The battery pack 8 comprises one or more electric batteries connected in parallel or in series.

[0033] The occultation system also comprises a power supply unit DI comprising a solar energy supply device intended to electrically supply the battery in order to recharge it. The power supply device comprises at least one PV photovoltaic panel. The power supply device is electrically connected to the battery unit 8.

[0034] In another variant, the battery pack may be integrated into the power supply unit.

[0035] The PV photovoltaic panel is intended to be exposed to light radiation which it converts into electrical energy used to recharge the battery pack.

[0036] The electrical power supply unit preferably comprises a housing 9, for example a molded housing made of plastic material, supporting the photovoltaic panel, and by which the power supply unit DI is fixed either to the facade of the dwelling or to the glazing of the opening that the system equips, or on the system box.

[0037] Preferably, the housing 9 is shaped to provide an optimized inclination of the PV photovoltaic panel relative to solar radiation. The housing has, for example, an upwardly inclined face supporting the PV panel in order to maximize the sky surface facing the PV photovoltaic panel.

[0038] In Figures 2A and 2B, the power supply DI is located on the trunk CO. Alternatively, it can be located at a distance from the trunk CO.

[0039] The occultation system comprises a control circuit 12 of the electric motor formed by one or more circuit boards. This circuit 12 is connected to the motor 4 and to the battery pack 8.

[0040] The battery pack 8 is also intended to provide power to the control circuit 12. The control circuit 12 ensures the control of the actuator according to the instructions received from the user. For this purpose, the control circuit 12 comprises an external communication unit allowing a communication link with an external device, in particular communication by radiofrequency waves. The communication unit can be carried by one or more of the circuit cards of the control circuit. The external control device can be, in a non-limiting manner, a remote control, a smartphone or a tablet.

[0041] The external communication unit comprises in particular a radio frequency transceiver, via which screen movement orders can be transmitted from a radio remote control not shown, and physical communication elements for a user, such as a light diode or LED and / or a programming button.

[0042] The control circuit 12 comprises a circuit board preferably arranged in the actuator housing.

[0043] Preferably, the occultation system also comprises a human-machine interface, for example a screen and / or a light display of the light diode type and / or even a sound transmitter to inform the user of the state of charge of the battery, in particular when the charge of the battery is below the threshold required to power the actuator.

[0044] The power supply DI also comprises a power supply interface unit 14 configured to manage the power supply of the battery pack 8 by the photovoltaic panel PV.

[0045] The electrical power supply interface unit 14 comprises a first connector C1 by which the interface unit 14 is electrically connected to the photovoltaic panel PV by a wired connection 16. The power supply interface unit 14 is also electrically connected to the battery pack 8 by a wired connection 18. The interface unit 14 ensures the recharging of the battery pack 8, in particular depending on the charge level of the battery. For example, it interrupts the power supply if the charge of the battery pack 8 exceeds a given charge threshold and ensures the power supply if the charge of the battery pack 8 falls below a given discharge threshold.

[0046] The interface unit 14 comprises, for example, a circuit board comprising the electronic components enabling the charge management function to be ensured by the PV photovoltaic panel.

[0047] Preferably, the interface unit 14 is housed in the housing 9, and only the wired connection 18 leaves the housing to be connected to the actuator.

[0048] The housing 9 is advantageously waterproof, ensuring protection of the interface unit against bad weather and dust.

[0049] According to the invention, the power supply unit also comprises a second connector C2 intended to connect an external power supply device D2 to the occultation system. The external power supply device D2 is intended to recharge the battery unit when the electrical energy supplied by the solar energy power supply device is not sufficient to recharge the battery unit. This situation may occur, for example, in the event of prolonged bad weather and / or intensive use of the actuator of the occultation system.

[0050] The power interface unit 14 is configured to ensure the recharging of the battery by the power supply device D2 instead of or in addition to the photovoltaic panel PV.

[0051] The external power supply device D2 is, for example, a power supply device allowing rapid recharging. For example, the charger sold under the Oximo Wirefree® brand can be used.

[0052] The charging device D2 can be of the external battery type called a power bank in English terminology, or a power supply device connected to the network.

[0053] The second connector C2 is arranged on the housing 9 so as to be easily accessible to a user to connect the external power supply device D2.

[0054] Thanks to the invention, it is not required to have access to the battery located in the actuator or nearby in order to be able to connect the external charging device to the battery.

[0055] For example, the second connector is located on the front face, on a side face or a lower face of the housing. Generally, when the occultation installation is mounted on a window or a French window, the second connector is located outside the dwelling. Preferably, means for sealing the second connector are provided to protect the second connector from rain and / or dust. These sealing means comprise, for example, a sliding shutter or a plug. Preferably, the sealing means are such that they are as little visible as possible in order to conceal the presence of the second connector, this being intended for very occasional use.

[0056] In another exemplary embodiment, the trunk has on its front face a location for housing the power supply unit, the housing then being able to be formed by a part of the trunk. The second connector C2 is then directly accessible through the front face of the trunk. The trunk is for example molded from plastic material and directly integrates the windows and / or recesses required to receive the housing of the power supply unit.

[0057] Alternatively, the housing of the power supply device is such that the second connector is directly accessible from inside the building and allows recharging even when the shutter is closed.

[0058] The second connector C2 comprises, for example, a JST® or Molex® type connector. In an exemplary embodiment, the second connector C2 may be directly carried by the circuit board of the power interface unit.

[0059] In another embodiment, the second connector C2 is connected to the circuit board of the interface unit by an electrical cable. It is then envisaged that the box or housing comprises a closed housing in which the cable and the second connector are housed. When recharging is required via the second connector, the housing is opened and the cable is unwound so that the second connector is easily accessible.

[0060] In an exemplary embodiment, the interface unit is configured so that, when the external charging device is connected to the second connector C2, it charges the battery pack instead of or in addition to the photovoltaic panel. The management of the recharging of the battery pack by the external power supply device is also managed by the power supply interface unit.

[0061] In a particularly advantageous manner, the interface unit 14 comprises means 15 for electrically protecting the photovoltaic panel, more particularly the cells that compose it against the current / voltage delivered by the external power supply device. These means 15 comprise, for example, a diode mounted so as to prevent the current supplied by the external power supply device from circulating in the photovoltaic panel. The diode is mounted on the card circuit of the power supply interface unit.

[0062] In [Fig. 6], we can see a schematic representation of an exemplary embodiment of the power supply unit D1', in which several photovoltaic panels PV1, PV2 and PV3 are implemented. The panels are advantageously electrically connected, in parallel. Advantageously, the housing of the power supply unit is configured to allow the installation of one or more photovoltaic panels depending on the needs. In this example, the battery unit 8 is outside the actuator. The actuator is connected to the power supply DI' by a connector C. In addition, in this example, means for preventing the current supplied by the external power supply device from flowing into the photovoltaic panels are provided at each panel, thus forming independent modules. Alternatively, common protection means can be implemented.

[0063] In a particularly advantageous exemplary embodiment, the second connector is a USB type connector, very advantageously of the USB-C® type, configured to cooperate with a compatible external power supply device.

[0064] The USB interface module can be either integrated into the actuator control circuit or into the power supply interface unit.

[0065] The female USB-C® type connector shown alone in [Fig.4A] has the advantage of having two orthogonal planes of symmetry, it is reversible and non-polarized, which facilitates connection to the external power supply device.

[0066] Very advantageously and as shown in [Fig.4B], the charging connector is itself connected to a magnetic adapter 26, which allows for easier connection, for example “blind”, in particular for a connector at a height. The connector 28 of the external power supply device D2 is also magnetic to connect to the adapter.

[0067] The USB interface module is configured to preferably support PD technology for Power Delivery in English terminology or Energy Supply, and even more preferably PD technology and PPS technology for Programmable Power Supply in English terminology or Programmable Power Supply, associated with the USB standard version 3.0 and following.

[0068] The PD power supply technology makes it possible to deliver greater power to the battery and to carry out faster charges than a connector not compatible with this technology. This is particularly suitable in the case of the present invention where recharging by the external device is exceptional and it is desirable for it to take place very quickly to limit the inconvenience caused by the discharge of the battery pack.

[0069] The PPS programmable power supply technology ensures regularly renegotiated communication between the battery pack and the external power supply device, allowing the power supply device to dynamically adjust the voltage and current according to the battery charge state determined by the actuator. Regularly, all of these parameters change to adapt to the needs of the battery, which makes it possible to optimize its charge, and to extend the battery life.

[0070] Since the USB 3.0 PD PPS standard allows the charging power to be adjusted according to the battery's needs, this results in reduced overheating, longer battery life of the battery and optimal recharging.

[0071] PD and PPS technologies are supported by the actuator and by the external power supply device.

[0072] In the example shown, recharging by the photovoltaic panel PV and recharging by the external power supply device D2 take place via the same electrical connection between the interface unit 14 and the control circuit 12. Alternatively, separate electrical connections are implemented.

[0073] An example of the sequence of recharging the battery by an external power supply device will now be described.

[0074] When the user notices that the occultation system is not working and / or that the human-machine interface indicates a discharge of the battery, he accesses the second connector C2 near the photovoltaic panel to which he connects the external power supply device D2. The battery recharging operation begins. Depending on the external power supply device, the recharging may be more or less rapid. It may be envisaged that the battery is only partially recharged, which is sufficient to power the actuator, with the complete charge being carried out by the photovoltaic panel. When the battery charge reaches a sufficient recharge threshold, the human-machine interface sends the information to the user who disconnects the external recharging device. The occultation system is then ready to operate and the battery is then recharged via the photovoltaic panel.

[0075] It may be envisaged that the occultation system can be activated while the external power supply device is connected and the battery is being recharged.

[0076] In the case of a second USB-C® type connector and an interface unit supporting PD power supply technology, the battery charging time can be significantly shortened.

[0077] Furthermore, the implementation of a USB-C® connector is capable of ensuring data transfer.

[0078] In an exemplary embodiment, the USB interface module is then configured to ensure this data transfer. It is then possible, when the second connector C2 is not used for recharging the battery pack, to use it to connect an external device to collect data and / or to configure the actuator.

[0079] For example, the external device may be a system configuration device, such as an adjustment tool comprising a personal computer or a specific installation tool provided with an output port comprising a USB-C® connector compatible with the USB-C® port of the second connector C2. For example, the external device is used for controlling and configuring the actuator in the factory or at the installation site. Thus, the charging connector can be used both for recharging the battery(ies) and for controlling and configuring the actuator.

[0080] An example of data exchange will now be described.

[0081] The control unit and / or the power supply interface may be in communication with a remote weather station outside the building, including, in particular, one or more sensors that may be configured to determine, for example, a temperature, a level of illumination, or even a wind speed. This information is used to manage the recharging of the battery and / or the use of the actuator. The temperature sensor, the brightness sensor and / or the sensor measuring the wind speed may be integrated directly into the occultation system.

[0082] The information provided by these sensors can be retrieved by the external device connected to the USB-C® connector.

[0083] Very advantageously, a power supply method is provided that can also be used in the case where the battery is completely discharged. This mode is called “dead battery” mode in English terminology. In this case of a discharged battery, the power supply method comprises a step of sending, by the external power supply device, a low voltage to initiate communication with the actuator. For example, the minimum voltage to initiate communication is of the order of 5V. In particular, this sending step follows a predefined period following a connection between the actuator and the power supply device, during which, the battery pack no longer being sufficiently charged to require a power supply profile, no information is received by the power supply device.

[0084] In this case, the step of sending a minimum voltage allows the actuator to initiate the step of transmitting a request in accordance with the power supply method.

[0085] This method is particularly suitable for the concealment system according to the invention since the external power supply device is generally implemented when the battery pack is completely discharged.

[0086] An example of the progress of a feeding process will now be described using [Fig.5].

[0087] The actuator is first connected to a power supply device by the second connector C2. Information exchanges between the interface unit and the power supply device then take place.

[0088] During a capacity request step 100, the interface unit requests the power supply device for its charging capacities. These are different depending on whether it is a power supply device connected to the mains or a photovoltaic panel. Indeed, for example, the power delivered by the power supply device on the mains is different from that delivered by the photovoltaic panel. They are also different depending on the technologies with which the power supply device is compatible, including PD and / or PPS technologies. In the case of this power supply device not compatible with PD or PPS technologies, the voltage and current values that can be transmitted by the power supply device are unique and fixed.

[0089] During a step 200, the power supply device responds to the interface unit by providing information on its capabilities, during a response step. Alternatively, the power supply device provides an available voltage and current during this response step.

[0090] During an optional evaluation step 300, the interface unit evaluates the battery recharging needs, in other words the power parameters adapted to the battery situation. This step takes place when the interface unit supports PPS technology.

[0091] During a selection step 400 and in the case where the power supply device has provided information on its capacities, the interface unit chooses a charging profile according to the response of the power supply device. The charging profile is advantageously selected from several profiles corresponding to the capacities of the power supply device and possibly according to the information relating to the evaluated power supply parameters. In an exemplary embodiment, the interface unit selects from the profiles proposed by the power supply device, the one which best corresponds to the needs. In another exemplary embodiment, the interface unit also comprises several current / voltage pairs which can be chosen to best correspond to the capacities of the power supply device.

[0092] During a transmission step 500, the interface unit informs the power supply device of the selected profile by means of a power supply profile request. During a step 600, the power supply device then sets up the charging process according to the profile selected during a charging step.

[0093] In the alternative case where, following the connection between the interface unit and the power supply device during step 200, the interface unit receives a voltage and a current directly from the power supply device and before the selection step, steps 300 to 600 are omitted and the batteries are recharged using the voltage and current available at the input of the charging connector. It may then advantageously be provided to set up feedback to the user to signal non-optimal recharging, for example by means of a particular flashing of the light-emitting diode of the actuator.

[0094] The actuator motor can advantageously rotate during the recharging phase.

[0095] Furthermore, thanks to the invention, the type of power supply device is detectable by the interface unit due to the exchange of information, this information allows also to adapt the behavior of the actuator.

[0096] In addition, the communication between the power supply device and the interface unit allows selection of the best power profile for charging the battery and therefore better charge management.

[0097] Communication established between the external power supply device and the interface unit allows the interface unit to detect to which type of power supply device it is connected, either a power supply device connected to the mains or an external battery. The charging procedure is then adapted to the type of power supply device. This knowledge of the type of power supply device by the interface unit also makes it possible to adapt the feedback provided to the user, for example to indicate the state of the actuator, for example being charged or charged. For example, in the case of an external power supply device connected to the mains, the interface unit provides feedback to the user on its state, for example being charged or charged, by means of indicator lights, for example of the LED type, by movement on the screen and / or by transmitting information to a device equipped with a display screen. In the case of charging by an external battery, the emission of feedback in the case of charging by a photovoltaic panel is deactivated to limit electricity consumption.
