Description

Title of the invention: High voltage electrical rotating joint device configured to equip an energy exploitation installation TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The invention relates to electrical rotating joint devices configured to equip energy exploitation installations, of the fluidic and / or electrical type, in particular on offshore or underwater platforms.

[0002] In particular, the invention relates to a high voltage electrical rotating joint device.

[0003] The invention also relates to an energy exploitation installation, in particular fluidic and / or electrical, and for example on an offshore or underwater platform, comprising at least one such electrical rotating joint device. STATE OF THE ART

[0004] Rotating joint devices configured to equip energy exploitation installations in the maritime field can be installed on ships, structures enabling the production and / or distribution of fluid and / or electrical energy, and / or fluid and / or electrical connection.

[0005] An example of such an installation is aimed at oil production, and in particular allows the exploitation of offshore hydrocarbon fields.

[0006] Floating production, storage, processing, and unloading units can be formed by a vessel that is mobile, due to its environment, around a geostationary mooring tower. The vessel can be temporarily secured to the tower.

[0007] The installations may include conduits and cables which form an underwater network and which allow energy, fluidic and / or electrical communication for energy transfer between the seabed and the ship.

[0008] Such electric swivel joint devices may be part of a swivel joint assembly further comprising a stack of sealing swivel joint devices ("swivel stack device" in Anglo-Saxon terminology), the electric swivel joint device being able to be interposed between the sealing swivel joint devices.

[0009] Such electrical swivel joint devices, also called rotating electrical collectors or, in English terminology, "electrical swivel devices" are electromechanical devices configured to transfer electrical energy, for example, between the floating unit, in particular the ship, which is mobile, and the mooring turret which is fixed.

[0010] To ensure sealing and transfer of electrical energy between the floating unit and the turret, the electric rotating joint devices are provided with a first part, called fixed, secured to the turret and a second part, called mobile, secured to the ship. The second part of the electric rotating joint devices is therefore mobile relative to the first part of the electric rotating joint devices.

[0011] The electrical rotary joint devices have an internal chamber delimited by the first and second parts. This internal chamber is generally closed and fluid-tight.

[0012] For example, the electric rotary joint devices may be provided with several dynamic sealing members, called dynamic joints, arranged in spaces provided between the first fixed part and the second mobile part of the electric rotary joint devices.

[0013] Such dynamic sealing elements may include, for example, lips whose function is to ensure sealing against the fluid.

[0014] Patents EP 3 379 660 and EP 3 736 919 disclose in particular electrical rotary joint devices which operate with circular conductive tracks which are mounted on one of the first fixed part and second mobile part, in the internal chamber, and which cooperate with friction blocks which are mounted on the other of the second mobile part and first fixed part, in the internal chamber, in order to establish electrical connections, in particular according to several electrical phases.

[0015] In such an application called "offshore", the so-called high-voltage electrical rotating joint devices can, for example, be configured to transmit voltages of the order of or greater than 1,500 V in direct current or 1,000 V in alternating current, allowing the transfer of significant electrical power between a fixed structure connected to the seabed (subsea equipment) and a mobile part such as a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (or FPSO, acronym for "Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel" in English terminology).

[0016] Electrical rotary joint devices that are used in such applications must meet predetermined quality requirements to provide a certain level of safety, particularly in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

[0017] For these purposes, the internal chamber of the electrical rotating joint devices may contain in particular a dielectric fluid.

[0018] In document EP 3 379 660, it is provided that the dielectric fluid is a dielectric insulating gas having a dielectric strength greater than that of the air surrounding the electrical rotary joint device.

[0019] In document EP 3 736 919, a system for generating and injecting a mist of dielectric fluid into the internal chamber is provided, and a system for recovering and reinjecting the dielectric medium formed from the dielectric fluid and the dielectric fluid mist in the inner chamber.

[0020] These solutions make it possible in particular to isolate the conductive tracks in order, for example, to avoid the formation of electric arcs with neighboring conductive parts (generally metal parts), possibly to reduce the distance between the conductive tracks, or even to clean the internal chamber. Statement of the invention

[0021] The invention aims to provide an electrical rotating joint device, in particular high voltage, configured to equip an energy exploitation installation, in particular fluidic and / or electrical, having even better performances compared to the devices of the aforementioned prior art, while being simple, convenient and economical.

[0022] The invention thus relates, according to a first aspect, to an electrical rotating joint device, in particular high voltage, configured to equip an energy exploitation installation, in particular fluidic and / or electrical, for example on an offshore platform, comprising a first part having at least one first electrical connector and at least one first electrical track electrically connected to the first electrical connector, a second part having at least one second electrical connector and at least one second electrical track electrically connected to the second electrical connector, and an electrical interconnection mechanism configured to electrically interconnect the first electrical track and the second electrical track, with the first part and the second part being movable relative to each other and defining between them a closed internal chamber in which the first electrical track is housed, the second electrical track and the electrical interconnection mechanism; characterized in that the electrical interconnection mechanism comprises a plurality of electrical contact members which are housed prestressed between the first electrical track and the second electrical track and which are configured to form rolling and deformable contacts between the first electrical track and the second electrical track.

[0023] In the electrical rotating joint device according to the invention, the interconnection electrical contact between the first electrical track and the second electrical track is made using rolling and deformable electrical contact members.

[0024] Thus, in the electric rotating joint device, it is possible to do without the friction blocks of the prior art solutions.

[0025] The fact that the electrical contact members are deformable allows the pre-stressed mounting of these electrical contact members, which ensures permanent mechanical contact between the first electrical track, the second electrical track and the electrical contact members.

[0026] Furthermore, the fact that the electrical contact members are rolling makes it possible to ensure permanent mechanical contact despite the rotation of the first and second parts relative to each other and therefore of the first and second electrical tracks.

[0027] In other words, the electrical continuity between the first electrical track and the second electrical track is also ensured through the electrical contact members, while avoiding their wear by friction and therefore promoting the longevity of the electrical interconnection mechanism.

[0028] It should be noted that it is the combination of the prestressing and the rotational movement of the first and second electrical tracks relative to each other which generates the deformation of the electrical contact members, thus forming a larger contact surface between the electrical contact members and these first and second electrical tracks.

[0029] Particularly simple, convenient and economical preferred features of the device according to the invention are presented below.

[0030] The electrical contact members each have an internal face and an internal housing delimited by the internal face and the electrical interconnection mechanism comprises a plurality of conductive elastic members which are arranged in a respective internal housing and pressed against a respective internal face.

[0031] Such conductive elastic members are configured to adapt to the respective internal face of the electrical contact members despite the deformation of the latter due to the prestressing and the movement of the first and second electrical tracks.

[0032] The addition of such conductive elastic members pressed against the respective internal face of the electrical contact members makes it possible to thicken, in section, these electrical contact members without reducing their deformability.

[0033] In other words, these conductive elastic members make it possible to increase the passage section of the electrical energy without making the electrical contact members more rigid.

[0034] The electric rotating joint device thus offers the possibility of transferring electrical energy not only at high voltage but also at high current intensity.

[0035] The conductive elastic members can be formed by spiral springs.

[0036] The conductive elastic members may have a contact face which is applied to the respective internal face of the electrical contact members.

[0037] The electrical contact members are formed by cylindrical or truncated tubular portions.

[0038] The electrical contact members are arranged at a distance from each other between and along the first electrical track and the second electrical track.

[0039] The electrical interconnection mechanism comprises a support member on which the electrical contact members are arranged, movable in rotation.

[0040] The support member has the form of a chain provided with links each comprising at least one electrical contact member.

[0041] The support member comprises lower elements and upper elements arranged opposite each other and mechanically secured, each of the lower elements overlapping at least one other of the lower elements and each of the upper elements overlapping at least one other of the upper elements, thus forming the links.

[0042] Each link has, between the lower and upper elements which overlap, at least one space for receiving an electrical contact member.

[0043] Each link has at least one spacer pad arranged between two successive receiving spaces.

[0044] The links and the electrical contact members are arranged so that the electrical contact members project laterally from the links to ensure contact with the first electrical track and the second electrical track.

[0045] The first electrical track and the second electrical track have, in section, an L-shape and are arranged head to tail so as to form an internal space in which the electrical contact members are arranged.

[0046] The invention also relates, according to a second aspect, to an energy exploitation installation, in particular fluidic and / or electrical, comprising at least one electrical rotating joint device as described above, with the first part of the rotating joint device being subjected to a fixed unit of the installation and the second part of the rotating joint device being subjected to a mobile unit of the installation.

[0047] The fixed unit may be, for example, a mooring turret and the floating unit may be, for example, a ship, a wind turbine, or a hub-type concentrator in English terminology. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0053] [Fig.5] is a detail view of [Fig.4], showing in particular an electrical interconnection mechanism configured to electrically interconnect a first electrical track and a second electrical track of the electrical rotary joint device.

[0054] [Fig.6] is an isolated perspective view of a portion of the electrical interconnection mechanism. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0055] [Fig.l] illustrates an energy exploitation installation 1, in particular here of fluids, on an offshore platform, allowing for example the exploitation of hydrocarbon fields at sea 2.

[0056] Alternatively, it could for example be an electrical energy exploitation installation allowing the exploitation of wind farms.

[0057] The installation 1, also called a floating production, storage and unloading unit, can be provided with a mobile unit such as a ship 3 which is mobile due to its environment formed by the sea 2, and a fixed unit such as a mooring turret 4 which is geostationary and around which the ship 3 is mobile.

[0058] The mooring turret 4 can for example be mechanically secured to the seabed 2 via underwater anchors 5.

[0059] The ship 3 can be movable relative to the mooring turret 4 by means of a rolling mechanism 7.

[0060] The installation 1 may be provided with conduits 6 which form a network of underwater pipes allowing fluid communication for the transfer of fluid between the mooring turret 4 and the ship 3.

[0061] The installation 1 comprises a rotating joint assembly ensuring the seal between the ship 3 and the mooring turret 4 and therefore the integrity of the fluid transfer, via a stack in particular of rotating sealing joint devices.

[0062] This rotating joint assembly also ensures the transfer of electrical energy between the ship 3 and the mooring turret 4, via at least one electrical rotating joint device 10 installed in the stack of sealing rotating joint devices.

[0063] The at least one electrical rotating joint device 10 may be interposed between rotating sealing joint devices, or superimposed on the latter, or even arranged concentrically with at least one of these rotating sealing joint devices and / or with at least one other electrical rotating joint device.

[0064] Figures 2 and 3 show such an electric rotating joint device 10, which is generally cylindrical and comprises a first part 11, here fixed, which is configured to be secured to the mooring turret 4, as well as a second part 12, here mobile, which is configured to be secured to the ship 3.

[0065] In the example illustrated, the second part 12 can be movable in rotation relative to the first part 11, by means of a rolling element or bearing (not shown) at least partially interposed between the first and second parts 11 and 12.

[0066] The first and second parts 11 and 12 are here arranged in a substantially concentric manner.

[0067] The first part 11 may be provided with a cylindrical outer wall 20, a bottom wall 21 connected to a lower end of the cylindrical outer wall 20, and a central barrel 22 extending from the bottom wall 21, inside the cylindrical outer wall 20.

[0068] The electrical rotating joint device 10 comprises connection elements electrical which are mounted projecting from the bottom wall 21 and extend around the central barrel 22.

[0069] The second part 12 may be provided with a top wall 25 having a central opening and from which protrude, on either side of the top wall 25, in particular other electrical connection elements.

[0070] In the example illustrated, the first part 11 and the second part 12 are assembled so that the top wall 25 is located inside the cylindrical external wall 20 of the first part 11, substantially flush with an upper end of the cylindrical external wall 20 opposite its lower end, and with the central opening of the second part 11 which is located around the central barrel 22 of the first part 11.

[0071] The electric rotating joint device 10 is provided with sealing elements (not re presented) which are housed between the first and second parts 11 and 12 and which ensure a dynamic seal between them.

[0072] Still referring to figures 2 and 3, and also to [Fig.4], the electrical rotating joint device 10 is provided with an internal chamber delimited by the assembly of the first part 11 and second part 12.

[0073] This internal chamber 15 is here closed and sealed.

[0074] In an exemplary embodiment, the internal chamber 15 may comprise a di- electric, which may be under pressure.

[0075] Such a dielectric medium may comprise a mixture of dielectric liquid and / or dielectric gas, optionally with a mist of dielectric fluid.

[0076] The internal chamber 15 may further comprise an inert gas.

[0077] In an alternative embodiment, the internal chamber is devoid of such a dielectric medium.

[0078] As indicated above, electrical connection elements are arranged on the first part 11 and second part 12.

[0079] These electrical connection elements are formed by several first electrical connectors 111 which pass through first connector supports 116 housed in the bottom wall 21 of the first part 11, and which emerge on either side of the connector support 116 outside and inside the internal chamber 15.

[0080] These electrical connection elements are also formed by several second electrical connectors 121 which pass through second connector supports 126 housed in the top wall 25 of the second part 12, and which emerge on either side of the connector support 126 outside and inside the internal chamber 15.

[0081] The electrical connection elements are further formed by at least one pair of electrically conductive tracks, including a first electrical track 113 and a second electrical track 123 which are housed in the internal chamber 15.

[0082] The first and second electrical tracks 113 and 123 are here mechanically secured respectively to the first part 11 and the second part 12 by means of electrical insulation members 114, 124, for example in the form of a spacer and which on the one hand carry the first and second electrical tracks 113 and 123 and on the other hand are themselves mechanically secured respectively to the first part 11 and the second part 12.

[0083] In [Fig.4], only one pair of electrical tracks is illustrated but the electrical rotary joint device may comprise a plurality of pairs of tracks, arranged in a juxtaposed and / or superimposed and / or concentric manner.

[0084] In the illustrated example, the first electrical track 113 is electrically connected to a first connector 111 via an internal portion 112 of the latter, while the second electrical track 123 is electrically connected to a second connector 121 via an internal portion 122 of the latter.

[0085] The first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123 each extend in the internal chamber 15 according to a revolution.

[0086] The first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123 have, in section, an L shape and are arranged head to tail in the internal chamber 15.

[0087] Thus, an internal space is formed between the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123, this internal space being generally closed by respective branches of the L (see below in more detail).

[0088] The electrical rotary joint device 10 further comprises an electrical interconnection mechanism 50 housed in the internal chamber 15 and configured to electrically interconnect the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123.

[0089] In particular, the electrical interconnection mechanism 50 comprises a plurality of electrical contact members 30 which are configured to be housed pre-stressed between the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123.

[0090] In other words, the electrical contact members 30 are housed in the internal space provided between the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123.

[0091] These electrical contact members 30 are configured to form rolling and deformable contacts between the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123.

[0092] Now with reference to figures 5 and 6, the first electrical track 113 is fixed and has a first branch 113A connected to the internal portion 112 of the first electrical connector and a second branch 113B extending substantially perpendicularly to the first branch 113A, in the direction of the second electrical track 123.

[0093] The second electrical track 123 is here movable relative to the first electrical track 113 and it has a first branch 123A connected to the internal portion 122 of the second electrical connector 121 and a second branch 123B extending substantially perpendicularly to the first wall 123A, in the direction of the first electrical track 113.

[0094] The first electrical track and the second electrical track can be provided, at the free ends of the first and second branches which are respectively opposite each other, with additional engagement elements, for example a lip and a groove in which the lip is received, to ensure the positioning of the first electrical track and the second electrical track relative to each other and thus to have a relatively constant internal space along the first and second electrical tracks.

[0095] The electrical contact members 30, and more generally the electrical interconnection mechanism 50, are housed in this internal space so as to be prestressed between the second branches 113B and 123B of the first and second electrical tracks 113 and 123.

[0096] The electrical contact members 30 are here formed by cylindrical portions lindriques.

[0097] The electrical contact members 30 each have an external face by which they are in contact with the first and second electrical tracks 113 and 123, an internal face opposite the external face and an internal housing delimited by the internal face.

[0098] The electrical interconnection mechanism 50 comprises a plurality of conductive elastic members 40 which are arranged in the respective internal housing and pressed against the respective internal face of the respective electrical contact members 30.

[0099] The conductive elastic members 40 are here formed by spiral springs, and in particular of the foil type, having a contact face for example flat which is applied to the respective internal face of the electrical contact members 30.

[0100] The electrical contact members 30 are configured so that they deform under the combined action of the prestress and the relative movement of the first and second electrical tracks 113 and 123.

[0101] The electrical contact members 30 have a circular cross-section in the absence of stress, this cross-section being able to become substantially elliptical once the electrical contact members 30 are deformed between the first and second electrical tracks 113 and 123.

[0102] Such a deformation of the electrical contact members 30 also causes a deformation of the conductive elastic members 40, which results in an unwinding of the coils of the springs, the coils moving relative to each other, in order to remain applied to the inner face of the electrical contact members 30.

[0103] In other words, the spiral springs unwind to remain in intimate contact with the interior of the cylindrical tubular portions.

[0104] The electrical contact members 30 are here arranged at a distance from each other between and along the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123.

[0105] The electrical interconnection mechanism 50 comprises a support member 60 on which the electrical contact members 30 are arranged, movable in rotation.

[0106] In particular, in the example illustrated, the support member 60 has the form of a chain provided with links 65 each comprising at least one electrical contact member 30.

[0107] The support member 60, better visible in [Fig.6], comprises lower elements 31 and upper elements 32 arranged opposite each other and mechanically secured.

[0108] Each of the lower elements 31 overlaps at least one other of the lower elements 31 and each of the upper elements 32 overlaps at least one other of the upper elements 32, thus forming the links 65.

[0109] Each link 65 has, between the lower elements 31 and the upper elements 32 which overlap, at least one space for receiving a member of electrical contact 30.

[0110] Each link 65 has at least one spacing pad 70 arranged between two successive receiving spaces.

[0111] The lower elements 31 and the upper elements 32 are assembled at the level of the spacing pads 70, by the cooperation of a male part 310 and a female part 320 which they comprise respectively.

[0112] In particular, in the example illustrated, the lower elements 31 and the upper elements 32 are each provided respectively with a first end plate respectively 311 and 321, with a second end plate respectively 312 and 322, and with a male or female part respectively 310 and 320, arranged between the first end plate and the second end plate.

[0113] The first and second end plates 311, 321, 312 and 322 are provided to support and hold the electrical contact members 30 in the internal spaces provided in the links 65.

[0114] The overlap of the lower elements 31 and the upper elements 32 is made at the level of the first and second end plates 311, 321, 312 and 322, with in particular the first end plate of a lower element which overlaps the second end plate of another adjacent lower element, and with the first end plate of the upper element opposite the same lower element which overlaps the second end plate of another upper element opposite the same other lower element.

[0115] The links 65 and the electrical contact members 30 are arranged so that the electrical contact members 30 protrude laterally from the links 65 to ensure contact with the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123.

[0116] In the electrical rotating joint device 10 described above, the electrical interconnection between the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123 is made by means of the rolling and deformable electrical contact members 30.

[0117] The fact that the electrical contact members 30 are deformable allows the pre-stressed mounting of these electrical contact members 30, which ensures permanent mechanical contact between the first electrical track 113, the second electrical track 123 and the electrical contact members 30.

[0118] Furthermore, the fact that the electrical contact members 30 are rolling makes it possible to ensure permanent mechanical contact despite the rotation of the first and second parts 11, 12 relative to each other and therefore of the first and second electrical tracks 113, 123.

[0119] In other words, the electrical continuity between the first electrical track 113 and the second electrical track 123 is also ensured through the electrical contact members 30, while avoiding their wear by friction and therefore promoting the longevity of the electrical interconnection mechanism 50.

[0120] It should be noted that it is the combination of the prestressing and the rotational movement of the first and second electrical tracks 113, 123 relative to each other which generates the deformation of the electrical contact members 30, thus forming a larger contact surface between the electrical contact members 30 and these first and second electrical tracks 113, 123.

[0121] It should also be noted that the conductive elastic members 40 are configured to adapt to the respective internal face of the electrical contact members 30 despite the deformation of the latter due to the prestressing and the movement of the first and second electrical tracks 113, 123.

[0122] The addition of such conductive elastic members 40 pressed against the respective internal face of the electrical contact members 30 makes it possible to thicken, in section, these electrical contact members 30 without reducing their deformability.

[0123] In other words, these conductive elastic members 40 make it possible to increase the passage section of the electrical energy without making the electrical contact members 30 more rigid.

[0124] The electrical rotating joint device 10 thus offers the possibility of transferring electrical energy not only at high voltage but also at high current intensity.

[0125] Variants not illustrated are presented below.

[0126] The electrical contact members may be formed by frustoconical rather than cylindrical portions.

[0127] The conductive elastic members may be formed by spring blades rather than spiral springs.

[0128] The conductive elastic members can be formed by conductive composite or elastomeric parts.

[0129] The conductive elastic members can be formed by an entanglement, for example random, of conductive wires.

[0130] The electrical interconnection mechanism may be devoid of conductive elastic members.

[0131] The electrical tracks may be U-shaped or I-shaped rather than L-shaped, or take other shapes.

[0132] The first part could be movable in rotation relative to the second part which would be fixed, or the first and second parts are movable.

[0133] The installation allows for the exploitation of electrical energy, for example in a wind farm environment or is configured to equip a hub-type concentrator.

[0134] It is recalled more generally that the invention is not limited to the examples described and represented.
