Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Partition wall assembly kit
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of construction, and more particularly to the field of partition walls.
[0002] Plasterboard is commonly used in the construction industry to create walls or partitions within buildings, in order to separate several rooms in these buildings or to create compartmentalized spaces within the same room.
[0003] Plasterboard panels are particularly well-suited to such applications because they are lightweight and easy to install. These plasterboard panels are, for example, mounted on a metal frame, the various uprights of which form the structure of the partition wall. The plasterboard panels, on the one hand, and the frame, on the other, are of significant dimensions, which depend on the desired dimensions of the partition wall. This partition wall must, in fact, fit the walls and ceiling of the room it is intended to divide.
[0004] The large dimensions of the plasterboard and the frame can be a constraint for non-professional individuals who wish to assemble and install their own partition walls. These individuals are often obliged to use utility vehicles capable of transporting the partition wall components. Furthermore, when making their purchases, individuals have numerous options among the different plasterboards and frames, making it difficult for them to know which to choose for building a partition wall.
[0005] The present invention falls within this context by proposing a set of constituent elements for a partition wall, including a plasterboard panel and a partition wall frame, these constituent elements being suitable for transport by individuals. The set of constituent elements, or kit, also facilitates the choice made by individuals among the various products available.
[0006] The main object of the present invention is therefore a partition wall assembly kit, comprising at least one foldable plasterboard, vertical uprights, at least one horizontal upright, and at least one connector for connecting the horizontal upright to the vertical uprights.
[0007] The assembly kit according to the invention comprises the constituent elements of the partition wall. Such a partition wall, or distributive partition, allows for partitioning within a building, for example to divide two rooms or to create a separate space within the same room.
[0008] As part of its component parts, the assembly kit includes a plasterboard Foldable. The foldable nature of the plasterboard allows it to take on a folded configuration, in which its dimensions are reduced, and an unfolded configuration in which it is ready to be assembled. In its folded configuration, the foldable plasterboard can thus be easily transported in a vehicle by a user of the assembly kit.
[0009] The assembly kit further includes studs, for example metal studs, and at least one connector, which contribute to forming a framework for the partition wall. The assembly kit thus includes vertical studs designed to cooperate with the longitudinal edges of the folding plasterboard panels, which correspond to their longest sides when the panels are in their unfolded configuration. The assembly kit also includes at least one horizontal stud, positioned substantially perpendicular to the vertical studs, which notably reinforces the framework, thereby providing mechanical stability to the partition wall. The vertical studs are connected to the at least one horizontal stud by means of a connector, which is an intermediate piece that allows these studs to be adjusted relative to one another.Furthermore, by joining the uprights together, the connector provides rigidity to the frame.
[0010] The assembly kit thus comprises the components of a partition wall with significantly smaller dimensions compared to partition walls of the prior art, since the studs are assembled together to obtain the desired frame dimensions and the plasterboard is unfolded for this purpose. The reduced dimensions of the plasterboard and the frame facilitate the user's transport of the assembly kit.
[0011] The reduction in dimensions of the elements of the assembly kit also offers flexibility with regard to the dimensions of the partition walls that can be made from this assembly kit.
[0012] The assembly kit also allows the constituent elements of the partition wall to be brought together in a single product, which facilitates the user's purchasing experience.
[0013] According to an optional feature of the invention, at least one connector comprises a cross-shaped connector.
[0014] The cross-shaped connector allows two vertical studs and two horizontal studs to be joined in pairs, so that the vertical studs face each other and the horizontal studs face each other. The cross-shaped connector is, for example, placed within a partition wall at a junction between two folding plasterboard panels.
[0015] According to an optional feature of the invention, at least one connector comprises a T-shaped connector.
[0016] The T-shaped connector allows two vertical studs to be joined in pairs and a horizontal stud to one side of them, so that the vertical studs face each other and the horizontal stud is substantially perpendicular to them. The T-shaped connector is, for example, positioned at one end of a partition wall. The T-shape results from this arrangement, since the end of the partition wall is located at the boundary of a space without a folding plasterboard panel and therefore does not require a horizontal stud.
[0017] According to an optional feature of the invention, the connector comprises a longitudinal bar for receiving the vertical uprights and at least one crossbar for receiving the horizontal upright, the longitudinal bar comprising a main extension dimension between 650 and 750 millimeters and the crossbar comprising a dimension between 250 and 350 millimeters.
[0018] The longitudinal bar extends from one end of the connector to the other along the main extension direction of the connector. The transverse bar extends substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal bar, and its base corresponds to its junction with the longitudinal bar, while its free end is at a distance from the longitudinal bar. With reference to the longitudinal bar, the expression "designed to receive" refers to the possibility for this longitudinal bar to receive the two vertical supports, in opposite directions with respect to the main extension direction of the connector; in other words, the vertical supports are received by the connector in opposition to each other. Conversely, the transverse bar receives a single horizontal support. The connector may, however, have two transverse bars, facing each other through the longitudinal bar, each of which receives a horizontal support.
[0019] According to one embodiment, the longitudinal bar has a main extension dimension of 700 millimeters and the transverse bar has a dimension of 300 millimeters. Such dimensions make it possible to obtain partition walls of different sizes, while adapting to the gaps that may exist on the different walls and ceilings of the buildings that the partition walls equip.
[0020] According to an optional feature of the invention, the crossbar is disposed at a distance from one end of the longitudinal bar of between 100 and 200 millimeters.
[0021] According to one embodiment, the crossbar is positioned at a distance of 150 millimeters from one end of the longitudinal bar. This dimension is measured along the main extension direction of the connector.
[0022] According to an optional feature of the invention, the connector is made of wood.
[0023] The connector thus exhibits optimal mechanical properties and, in particular, allows for the stiffening of the frame. Alternatively, the connector is made of synthetic material, for example plastic, and then offers advantages in terms of ease of production.
[0024] According to an optional feature of the invention, the foldable plasterboard has, in a folded configuration, a substantially rectangular shape, a larger side of the plasterboard having a dimension between 2600 and 2800 millimeters and a smaller side of the plasterboard having a dimension between 500 and 700 millimeters.
[0025] In its unfolded configuration, the foldable plasterboard is substantially flat. It has a general rectangular shape, the dimension of its longer side corresponding to its length while the dimension of its shorter side corresponds to its width.
[0026] In a particular embodiment, the plasterboard has a larger side measuring 2700 millimeters and a smaller side measuring 600 millimeters, which allows for the creation of standard-sized partition walls.
[0027] According to an optional feature of the invention, the assembly kit includes a layer of insulating material.
[0028] The layer of insulating material is intended to cover at least one face of the folding plasterboard. This layer of insulating material is, for example, mineral wool. It provides the partition wall with thermal and acoustic insulation.
[0029] According to an optional feature of the invention, the assembly kit includes at least one fastening element.
[0030] This fastening element is, for example, a set of screws, which are intended to fasten the folding plasterboard to the uprights.
[0031] According to an optional feature of the invention, the assembly kit includes a jointing material.
[0032] This is, for example, a joint compound.
[0033] According to an optional feature of the invention, the assembly kit includes rails for fixing the vertical uprights.
[0034] The fixing rails are arranged at longitudinal ends of the partition wall, that is to say at its ends intended to be in contact with the floor and ceiling of the room which it helps to delimit.
[0035] The invention also relates to a partition wall assembled from the assembly kit as previously mentioned, comprising a frame formed by vertical uprights and a horizontal upright connected by at least one connector, the a folding plasterboard being fixed over this framework.
[0036] The invention further relates to a method of assembling a partition wall from an assembly kit as previously mentioned, comprising a step of assembling the vertical uprights and at least one horizontal upright using the connector so as to erect a framework, and a step of laying the foldable plasterboard over the framework.
[0037] The partition wall produced by the assembly method can be the aforementioned partition wall. The assembly step establishes the framework of the partition wall, which consists of the studs and the connector. "Erecting the framework" means that it is placed vertically. The folding plasterboard is then positioned over the framework, unfolded, and fixed to it. The assembly method may also include an insulation step during which the layer of insulating material is placed between two folding plasterboard panels.
[0038] According to an optional feature of the invention, the foldable plasterboard is a first foldable plasterboard which, during the installation step, is placed over a first side of the frame, the assembly method comprising an additional installation step during which a second foldable plasterboard is placed over a second side of the frame.
[0039] The layer of insulating material is then placed between the first foldable plasterboard and the second foldable plasterboard.

[0045] The features, variants, and different embodiments of the invention can be combined in various ways, provided they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be conceived comprising only a selection of features, which will be described hereafter in isolation from the others. characteristics described, if this selection of characteristics is sufficient to confer a technical advantage and / or to differentiate the invention from the prior art.
[0046] In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.
[0047] Figures 1 to 4 schematically illustrate the constituent elements of an assembly kit 1 for a partition wall 2 according to the invention. Such a partition wall 2 is intended to separate two rooms within a building, or to create a partition within the same room. The partition wall 2 is, for example, configured to extend between a floor 4 and a ceiling 6 of a room, as can be seen in Figures 3 and 4.
[0048] The assembly kit 1 comprises various components that allow for the formation of the partition wall 2 on the one hand and its installation on the other. The assembly kit 1 thus includes a folding plasterboard panel 8, which is shown in a folded configuration in [Fig. 3] and in an unfolded configuration in [Fig. 4]. The folding plasterboard panel 8 has a generally rectangular shape. It extends between a first transverse side 10, intended to come into contact with the floor 4, and a second transverse side 12 intended to come into contact with the ceiling 6 when the folding plasterboard panel 8 is in its unfolded configuration to form the partition wall 2.The first transverse side 10 and the second transverse side 12 correspond to the shorter sides of the folding plasterboard 8 when it is in its unfolded configuration. These two transverse sides 10 and 12 are connected by a first longitudinal side 14 and a second longitudinal side 16, which correspond to the longer sides of the folding plasterboard 8. In the unfolded configuration, the dimensions of the transverse sides 10 and 12 of the folding plasterboard 8, measured between the first longitudinal side 14 and the second longitudinal side 16 perpendicular to them, are between 500 and 700 millimeters. The transverse sides 10 and 12, for example, measure 600 millimeters. Similarly, in this unfolded configuration the dimensions of the longitudinal sides 14, 16, measured between the first transverse side 10 and the second transverse side 12 perpendicular to them, are between 2600 and 2800 millimeters. The longitudinal sides 14, 16 measure, for example, 2700 millimeters.
[0049] The assembly kit 1 comprises uprights, including at least one first vertical upright 18, a second vertical upright 20, and a horizontal upright 22, such uprights 18, 20, 22 being shown in [Fig. 2]. These uprights 18, 20, 22 contribute to forming a framework of the partition wall 2. The uprights 18, 20, 22 are, for example, metal rods, at least a portion of which is hollowed out along a longer dimension of these uprights 18, 20, 22.
[0050] The uprights 18, 20, 22 are intended to cooperate with at least one connector 24 which, together with them, forms the framework of the partition wall 2. The connector 24 is made of wood. In other embodiments, the connector 24 may be made of plastic. Such a connector 24 is shown alone in [Fig. 1], it is associated with the vertical uprights 18, 20 and the horizontal upright 22 in [Fig. 2], and a plurality of connectors 24, each associated with uprights 18, 20, 22, is illustrated in Figures 3 and 4.
[0051] The connector 24 is more specifically intended to connect at least one horizontal upright 22 to the first vertical upright 18 and the second vertical upright 20. For this purpose, the connector 24 has a longitudinal bar 26 and at least one transverse bar 28. The longitudinal bar 26 and the at least one transverse bar 28 are substantially perpendicular to each other. The longitudinal bar 26 has a main extension dimension of between 650 and 750 millimeters. This longitudinal bar 26 measures, for example, 700 millimeters. The transverse bar 28 has a main extension dimension, measured between a free end and an end fixed to the longitudinal bar, of between 250 and 350 millimeters. The transverse bar 28 measures, for example, 300 millimeters. The crossbar 28 is further arranged at a distance from one end of the longitudinal bar 26 of between 100 and 200 millimeters, for example at a distance of 150 millimeters. Here, "end of the longitudinal bar 26" means one end thereof according to its principal extension dimension.
[0052] Each of the longitudinal bar 26 and the transverse bar 28 is configured to receive, respectively, the vertical uprights 18, 20 and a horizontal upright 22. The bars 26, 28 thus have shapes complementary to the hollowed portions of the uprights 18, 20, 22, so that these uprights 18, 20, 22 can be inserted, at least partially, around the connector 24 and overlapping it. Depending on the embodiment of the connector 24, the uprights 18, 20, 22 can be inserted at least partially within the bars 26, 28 of the connector 24, or the bars 26, 28 of the connector 24 can be inserted into the uprights 18, 20, 22.
[0053] When the connector 24 comprises a single crossbar 28, it has a T-shape, as illustrated in [Fig. 4]. Conversely, when the connector 24 comprises two crossbars 28, these are arranged on either side of the longitudinal bar 26 and opposite each other, so that the connector 24 has a cross-shape, as is particularly visible in Figures 1 and 2. The connector 4 is illustrated in [Fig. 2] with its longitudinal bar 26 embedded in both the first vertical post 18 and the second vertical post 20, a first crossbar 28 being embedded in a horizontal post 22, and a second crossbar 28 being free, i.e., ready to receive another horizontal post 22.
[0054] The T-shaped connector 24 is intended to be positioned at the ends of the partition wall 2, in particular at the ends of this partition wall 2 that are in contact with the walls of the room in which the partition wall 2 is located. Conversely, the cross-shaped connector(s) 24 are intended to be positioned in the middle of the partition wall 2, that is, at a distance from its ends in contact with the walls of the room that the partition wall 2 forms. This arrangement results from the placement of the studs 18, 20, 22 within the partition wall 2, with two horizontal studs 22 required in the middle of the partition wall 2, while at its ends a single horizontal stud 22 is sufficient.
[0055] A method for assembling the partition wall 2 using the assembly kit 1 will now be described with reference to Figures 3 and 4. Such an assembly method includes an assembly step, which corresponds to the formation of the framework of the partition wall 2. This framework comprises, as previously mentioned, both the vertical studs 18, 20, at least one horizontal stud 24, and the connector 24. The assembly step includes, firstly, a sub-step of installing fixing rails 30, which are components of the assembly kit 1. These fixing rails 30 facilitate the mounting of the vertical studs 18, 20. For this purpose, they are positioned along the floor 4 and the ceiling 6 between which the partition wall 2 is intended to be erected. The fixing rails 30 are then fixed either to the floor 4 or to the ceiling 6, by means of fastening elements provided for this purpose in the assembly kit 1, for example screws. The first vertical post 18 is then joined to the second vertical post 20 by means of the connector 24, then these first and second vertical posts 18, 20 are crimped respectively to a fixing rail 30 located on the floor 4 and to a fixing rail 30 located on the ceiling 6.
[0056] The partition 2 here includes several connectors 24; it is understood that it has two T-shaped connectors 24 at each of its ends, while the connectors 24 arranged in the middle of the partition 2, i.e. between the T-shaped connectors 24, are cross-shaped connectors 24.
[0057] The assembly step continues with the installation of the horizontal uprights 22 of the partition wall 2, which are joined to the connectors 24 so as to be positioned perpendicular to the vertical uprights 20, 22. As mentioned previously, the T-shaped connectors 24 allow two vertical uprights 18, 20 to be joined to one horizontal upright 22, while the cross-shaped connectors 24 allow two vertical uprights 18 to be joined to two horizontal uprights 22. As is particularly visible in [Fig. 3], each horizontal upright 22 extends between two connectors 24, namely either between a T-shaped connector 24 and a cross-shaped connector 24, or between two cross-shaped connectors 24.
[0058] Once the framework of the partition wall 2 is assembled, the assembly method continues with an installation step. During this installation step, the folding plasterboard 8 is placed over the framework. To do this, the folding plasterboard 8, in its folded configuration, is positioned against the framework so that its first transverse side 10 is against the floor 4 and its longitudinal sides 14, 16 rest against the first two adjacent vertical studs 18. The folding plasterboard 8 is then unfolded to its unfolded configuration, in which its second transverse side 12 is against the ceiling 6 and its longitudinal sides 14, 16 rest against the second two vertical studs 20, which are arranged in line with the first two adjacent vertical studs 18.The folding plasterboard is then fixed, via fastening devices 31, to the vertical uprights 18, 20 and / or to the horizontal uprights 22. .
[0059] In some embodiments of the partition wall 2, it includes a layer of insulating material 32. Such insulating material 32 takes, for example, the form of a panel, which is, during an insulation substep, placed over the framework before the step of laying the foldable plasterboard 8. The insulating material is illustrated in particular in [Fig.4].
[0060] The installation step is repeated until the framework is covered, from one end to the other, by folding plasterboards 8. In this way, each cross-shaped connector 24 is positioned at a junction between two folding plasterboards 8. Each folding plasterboard 8 is then joined to the folding plasterboard 8 directly adjacent to it by means of a jointing material supplied in the assembly kit 1. Such a jointing material makes it possible in particular to fill any gaps that might remain between the folding plasterboards 8; for this purpose, it is applied at a junction area between the longitudinal sides 14, 16 of the two adjacent folding plasterboards 8.
[0061] In certain embodiments of the assembly method, folding plasterboard panels 8 are placed on either side of the partition wall frame 2. In this case, the assembly kit 1 comprises at least one folding plasterboard panel 8, which is placed overlapping one side of the frame, and a second folding plasterboard panel 8, which is placed overlapping a second side of the frame, these folding plasterboard panels 8 thus being opposite each other. When the assembly method includes the insulation step, the insulating material 32 will then be placed between the first folding plasterboard panel 8 and the second folding plasterboard panel 8.
[0062] The present invention thus proposes an assembly kit for a partition wall whose elements have dimensions and functionalities configured to facilitate their transport by individuals.
[0063] The present invention is not limited to the means and configurations described and illustrated herein and also extends to any equivalent means and configuration as well as to any technically operative combination of such means.
