AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for three-dimensional reconstruction of mobile elements in a scene are complex, time-consuming, and require specific sensor trajectory constraints or network infrastructure, making them impractical for discreet and autonomous operation.

Method used

A three-dimensional reconstruction process using an optronic system with an imaging and computer component, which acquires successive images of a mobile element from different angles and automatically reconstructs the element into a three-dimensional model without requiring specific sensor constraints or network communications.

Benefits of technology

Enables fast, discreet, and autonomous three-dimensional reconstruction of mobile elements at large distances, maintaining permanent and sufficient follow-up even under critical conditions, with improved robustness and visualization capabilities.

Abstract

Method for Three-Dimensional Reconstruction of a Moving Element. The present invention relates to a method for three-dimensional reconstruction of a moving element (12) in a scene (10). The method is implemented by an optronic system (16) comprising an imager and a computer. The method comprises the following steps: setting up tracking of a moving element in the scene such that the imager of the optronic system acquires several successive images of the moving element viewed from different angles as a function of the movement of the moving element relative to the optronic system, and three-dimensional reconstruction of the moving element based on the acquired images to obtain a three-dimensional model of the moving element.
