Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: System for fixing a furring strip to a wall for insulating a building Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical sector of building and new construction or renovation, and more particularly the installation of insulation between walls and partitions made for example of plasterboard.
[0002] The invention relates more particularly to a system for fixing a furring strip to a wall, advantageously in renovation on a wall made of stone or red honeycomb bricks. Prior art
[0003] Insulation from the inside of buildings requires the placement of glass wool insulation of a relative thickness of around 6 to 15 cm, depending on requirements, between the inside walls and the exposed plasterboards making up the inside walls.
[0004] Consequently, the plasterboards are spaced this distance from the wall against which they are fixed, and it is necessary to first fix furring strips vertically between the floor and the ceiling. This verticality is maintained by the use of very long rods which are anchored by doweling in the existing wall and which receive at the opposite ends a U-shaped profile rider which in turn is anchored on the corresponding furring strip.
[0005] Document FR2922924 describes such a device, optimized to solve the problem of the lack of control of the verticality of the furring strips and the existence of false plumb lines which can then lead to annoying verticality defects when installing the plasterboards on the rail(s).
[0006] To solve these problems, FR2922924 describes a device in the form of a very long profiled rod successively comprising four zones, a first zone of which corresponds to a screw part intended to engage in an anchoring plug arranged in a pierced cavity of the wall receiving the construction, this zone being extended by a second zone defined by a smooth tubular part passing through the insulating material continued in alignment by a third zone constituting a flat protruding from the volume of the rod, and a fourth zone extending the flat, threaded for receiving a U-shaped profiled rider fitting onto the furring.
[0007] This solution allows the operator to perform adjustments quickly, without any inconvenience and without requiring additional fixing parts.
[0008] However, this device can still be improved in terms of ergonomics of use and manufacturing costs. Statement of the invention
[0009] One of the aims of the invention is therefore to remedy the problems of the prior art by providing a system for installing a plasterboard support furring, in new construction or renovation, for insulating the interior of buildings, improved in terms of ergonomics of use and manufacturing costs.
[0010] For this purpose, such a system has been developed comprising a rod, preferably 6 mm in diameter, comprising successively and only, a first threaded end intended to engage in an anchor pin arranged in a hole drilled in the wall, a smooth intermediate portion, and a second end, opposite the first, and threaded with preferably a diameter of M6, for receiving a U-shaped profile rider to receive the fur in engagement.
[0011] In this way, the invention provides a system for laying a furring strip which is quick to implement and ergonomic, with a lower cost price than the systems of the prior art.
[0012] In particular, the system according to the invention can be used to fix a furring strip both in new construction and in renovation, for example on a stone wall with surface irregularities. Of course, the system according to the invention can also be used to fix false ceilings.
[0013] The fixing is simple and quick, and avoids the need to fix a horizontal furring to the wall.
[0014] The invention makes it possible to effectively replace intermediate supports which are not suitable for fixing furring strips on a stone wall, for example.
[0015] The fact that the rod comprises only three parts, namely two threaded ends and a smooth intermediate portion, i.e. devoid of any projections or flats, makes it easier to manufacture and reduces costs.
[0016] The screwing of the fur into the dowel is carried out in any suitable manner and in a simple and ergonomic manner.
[0017] For example, the screwing / unscrewing of the rod can be carried out using one of the techniques below: - with a specific adapted tool, - by screwing a nut around the second threaded end and acting on this nut with a tool conventionally adapted for this purpose; - using a threaded tip intended to be screwed around the second end of the rod and to be rotated by a screwdriver; - with a screwing / unscrewing device comprising a socket with a bearing intended to be engaged in a chuck of a screwdriver, the socket having a recess capable of receiving with angular displacement capacity a cylindrical sheath having three peripheral housings offset angularly by 120°, and opening into an internal recess of the sheath, each of the housings receiving a roller in communication by its generatrices with said recess intended to receive the second end of the rod so as to allow, on the one hand, a free coaxial engagement of the rod, and on the other hand, its rotational drive in one direction and in the other, by means of the screwdriver by wedging effect with the rollers resulting from an angular displacement of the sheath in the profiled recess of the sleeve.
[0018] The system preferably comprises a dowel, for example 8 mm in diameter and with a length of between 60 mm and 75 mm, for example 68 mm.
[0019] This dowel has the advantage of engaging in several cells when the rod is fixed in a red brick wall.
[0020] The system according to the invention also comprises a U-shaped rider whose wings are notched to be fixed on the furring, the bottom of the rider has a threaded opening for screwing the second threaded end of the rod.
[0021] The rod implemented in the invention has a length of between 90 mm and 650 mm, preferably between 110 mm and 300 mm. Brief description of the drawings

[0027] With reference to figures 1 to 5, the invention relates to a system for installing a furring strip (F) supporting plasterboard, in new construction or renovation, for insulating the interior of buildings, improved in terms of ergonomics of use and manufacturing costs.
[0028] The system of the invention comprises a rod (1) which comprises successively and only, a first threaded end (la) preferably 6 mm in diameter intended to engage in an anchoring pin (5) arranged in a hole drilled in the wall (P), a smooth intermediate portion (1b) and a second threaded end (le) preferably in M6 for receiving a U-shaped profile rider (6) to receive the furring (F) in engagement.
[0029] The system further comprises a dowel (5), preferably with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of between 60 and 75 mm, for example 68 mm, and a U-shaped rider (6) whose wings are notched to be fixed to the furring (F). The bottom of the rider (6) has a threaded opening for screwing the second threaded end (le) of the rod (1), for example until it comes to a stop at the end of the thread.
[0030] In practice, for the installation of the system according to the invention it is appropriate, after having possibly drawn visual markers on the wall to identify the positioning of the furring (F) and the holes to be drilled, to drill said holes for example 8 mm in diameter and to insert the dowels (5) therein.
[0031] The next step is to screw the first threaded end (la) of the rods (1) into the dowels (5).
[0032] This step can be carried out quickly and ergonomically by means of a screwing / unscrewing device, see figures 2, 4 and 5, which comprises a socket (2) with a bearing intended to be engaged in a chuck of a screwdriver (V). The socket (2) has a recess (2b) capable of receiving a cylindrical sheath (3) with angular displacement capacity. The sheath (3) has three peripheral housings (3a) angularly offset by 120° and opens into an internal recess (3b) of the sheath (3). Each of the housings (3a) receives a roller (4) in communication by its generatrices with the recess (3b).The latter is intended to receive the second end (le) of the rod (1) so as to allow free coaxial engagement of the rod and its rotation in one direction and the other, by means of the screwdriver (V) by wedging effect with the rollers (4) resulting from an angular displacement of the sheath (3) in the profiled recess (2b) of the socket (2).
[0033] It follows from these characteristics that, after having locked the sleeve on the chuck of the screwdriver (V), it is sufficient to coaxially engage said sleeve around the first threaded end (Ic) of the rod (1), which is centered between the rollers of the sheath. The rotational drive of the sleeve concomitantly causes the angular displacement of the sheath generating a wedging effect with the rollers, of the threaded end (Ia) of the rod, consequently allowing it to be screwed or unscrewed.
[0034] After positioning the rod (1), then the insulator (7) and the rider (6), the operator must position the furring (F) on the rider(s) (6) depending on the number of systems installed.
[0035] The rod (1) according to the invention may have a length of between 90 and 650 mm, preferably between 110 mm and 300 mm. The second end (le) of the rod (1) may have a length of between 20 mm and 35 mm, for example 25 mm, the first threaded end (la) may have a length equivalent to that of the dowel, for example of between 60 and 75 mm, for example 70 mm.
[0036] In short, the system for installing a furring strip (F) according to the present invention offers an advanced technical solution which combines both an optimization of manufacturing costs and an improvement in the ergonomics of use.
