Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Lighting arrangement for a motor vehicle
[0001] The technical context of the present invention is that of interior equipment for a motor vehicle. More particularly, the invention relates to a lighting arrangement for a motor vehicle, and to a lighting system for a motor vehicle interior comprising such a lighting arrangement.
[0002] In the state of the art, the use of a system for projecting light information onto a dashboard in a motor vehicle interior is known. Such light information is mainly emitted by light sources integrated into the dashboard, so as to form, for example, a display screen. Such an architecture is however cumbersome to design because it requires the integration of a screen into the dashboard, which constrains both the dimensioning of the dashboard and its geometry to easily integrate said screen.
[0003] Techniques are also known for projecting luminous information onto a support acting as a projection surface. In this case, a known drawback lies in the lack of contrast between the image or luminous information projected onto the support and the natural illumination of the support itself, due to the illumination of the passenger compartment by light sources other than those which allow the formation of the projected image or luminous information. For example, in cases of daytime use, the dashboard is exposed both to sunlight and to the light emitted by the light source(s) which allow the formation of the projected image or luminous information. The illumination due to incident light from the sun is then much greater than that due to the light source(s) allowing the formation of the projected image or light information, which leads to insufficient contrast to be able to comfortably display and / or read the projected image or light information.
[0004] Indeed, it is considered that a contrast is sufficient to allow comfortable reading of the luminous information thus projected if the illumination received by the projection support and coming from the light source generating said luminous information is at least equal to twice the illumination of said support resulting from its exposure to daylight. In this case, considering that daylight coming from the sun corresponds to an illumination of the order of 90,000 lux inside a motor vehicle passenger compartment in full sunlight, it would then be necessary for the light source at the origin of the projection of luminous information onto the support be sized to provide illumination of around 180,000 lux on said support.
[0005] It is known to use laser sources, in particular single-mode or multi-mode laser sources for projection applications in a motor vehicle interior. However, no laser source compatible with motor vehicle interior lighting applications is known which makes it possible to achieve such a luminous flux.
[0006] Furthermore, to approach it, this induces a significant ocular risk for the passengers of the vehicle. In particular, to achieve a high level of illumination, the energy flux likely to enter the retina of the passengers is very high, and exceeds the threshold imposed by the regulations. It is therefore not possible to sufficiently increase the energy flux of the light sources to project a contrasting and visible image or luminous information, while ensuring the ocular safety of the passengers.
[0007] The object of the present invention is to propose a new lighting arrangement in order to respond at least to a large extent to the preceding problems and to further lead to other advantages.
[0008] Another object of the invention is to make it possible to project light information onto a projection surface in the field of automotive use.
[0009] Another aim of the invention is to improve the contrast between the illumination flux produced by a light source used to project light information and the ambient illumination flux to which the projection medium is subjected, and in particular under daytime use conditions of the projection device.
[0010] According to a first aspect of the invention, at least one of the aforementioned objectives is achieved with a light arrangement for the interior of a motor vehicle, the light arrangement comprising: - a support intended to receive light polarized according to a predetermined linear polarization direction and coming from a light source; - an optical device secured to the support, the optical device being configured, on the one hand, to absorb light polarized according to a polarization direction perpendicular to said predetermined linear polarization direction and, on the other hand, to transmit the light polarized according to the predetermined linear polarization direction and coming from the light source towards the support.
[0011] In the context of the present invention, the support forms a rigid structure on which the optical device is leaned or to which the optical device is associated or on which the optical device rests.
[0012] In the context of the present invention, the optical device is configured to allow only a portion of the light that reaches it to pass through, depending on its polarization. According to the invention, the optical device can take any shape and can comprise any material capable of interacting with light and its polarization. Thus, the optical device makes it possible to select a portion of the incident light, depending on its direction of polarization: a first portion of the incident light having a first linear polarization direction is transmitted by the optical device, which is then optically neutral with respect to it; while a second portion of the incident light having a second linear polarization direction, secant with respect to the first linear polarization direction, is at least partially absorbed by the optical device. In particular, when the second part of the incident light has a second linear polarization direction perpendicular to the first linear polarization direction, the optical device then completely opposes the propagation of the second part of the incident light beyond said optical device. In other words, the optical device is configured to allow light rays having a predetermined linear polarization direction to pass and to absorb light rays having a polarization direction secant, or even perpendicular, to the predetermined linear polarization direction.
[0013] In the context of its use in the automotive field for example, when the optical device is associated with a light source which emits linearly polarized light rays according to the predetermined linear polarization direction, then the optical device lets the light rays emitted by the light source pass, while other light rays coming from other light sources and having a polarization direction other than the predetermined linear polarization direction will not be transmitted by said optical device to the support.
[0014] In the context of the present invention, the design of the optical device depends on the predetermined linear polarization direction emitted by the light source which illuminates the optical device, as will be specified in the following paragraphs. Thus, it is appropriate to pair the light source with the optical device so that the predetermined linear polarization direction of the light rays emitted by the light source is aligned, i.e. parallel with the predetermined linear polarization direction which the optical device will be able to transmit.
[0015] In the context of the present invention, the optical device forms a transmission surface integral with the support. The optical device comprises an incident face, oriented towards and / or arranged opposite the light source, and an output face, oriented towards and / or arranged opposite the support. The optical device is configured to allow the polarized light coming from the light source to pass between its incident face and its output face.
[0016] In the context of the present invention, the light source is not part of the light arrangement according to the first aspect of the invention. The light source is configured to generate polarized light. In the context of the present invention, the polarized light source is configured to generate light rays having a predetermined polarization. This polarization is a linear polarization, according to a chosen polarization direction. The optical device is designed in correspondence with this predetermined linear polarization direction so as to be able to transmit the polarized light according to said predetermined linear polarization.
[0017] Thus, the light arrangement according to the first aspect of the invention makes it possible to provide a projection surface, formed in particular by the optical device fixed to the support, at which the contrast is increased due to the fact that said projection surface is a surface which absorbs the components of the light received when they are not parallel with the predetermined linear polarization direction. Subsequently, such a projection surface makes it possible to project light information with a sufficient level of contrast even though light is provided at the support by the ambient lighting, corresponding to the lighting which is not produced by the source. In particular, the ambient, unpolarized light will be absorbed at 50% by the optical device and transmitted at 50% by the optical device, while the light emitted by the polarized light source(s) - used in particular for the projection of an image or light information onto the support and through the optical device - is paired with the optical device, so that the light emitted by this or these light sources is transmitted at 100% by the optical device. Thus, the contrast of the projected image is improved.
[0018] Thus, the invention according to its first aspect makes it possible to increase the light intensity emitted by the polarized light source used to project the image or light information onto the support, relative to the light intensity emitted by the ambient light. The contrast of the projected image is therefore improved.
[0019] The light arrangement in accordance with the first aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical characteristics forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:
[0020] - The predetermined linear polarization direction is of the type and the direction of po perpendicular polarization is of the type. Due to the angle of incidence of the light coming from the sun on the windshield, part of this light will be reflected at the Brewster angle. Thus, a greater part of the light polarized along the direction of polarization P will be transmitted by the windshield into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. It is therefore interesting that the optical device can absorb light polarized along the polarization direction P, because it will represent a greater quantity of light than the light polarized along the polarization direction S, when we consider that the ambient light reaching the support comes from light from the sun.
[0021] - The optical device is located between the polarized light source and the support. In in other words, the optical device is associated with the support and is located optically opposite the light source, so that the polarized light generated by the light source can directly reach the optical device. The optical device advantageously forms a transmission surface for the part of the incident light whose polarization direction corresponds to the predetermined linear polarization direction, and an absorption surface for the part of the incident light whose polarization direction is perpendicular to the predetermined linear polarization direction.
[0022] - The optical device is configured, on the one hand, to absorb polarized light according to a polarization direction perpendicular to the predetermined linear polarization direction and, on the other hand, to transmit the light polarized according to the predetermined linear polarization direction and coming from the light source.
[0023] - The optical device comprises a polarizer allowing it to filter the direction of predetermined linear polarization. In the context of the present invention, the polarizer may be of any type. Generally, the polarizer forming the optical device comprises conductive elements extending in a preferred elongation direction, perpendicular to the predetermined linear polarization direction, so that light polarized parallel to the preferred elongation direction is absorbed, while light polarized perpendicular to the preferred elongation direction is transmitted.
[0024] - The optical device is configured to absorb polarized light according to a P-type polarization direction. In this case, the light source intended to be associated with the light arrangement according to the first aspect of the invention is configured to emit S-type polarized light. Generally speaking, the predetermined linear polarization direction corresponds to a polarization direction transmitted by the optical device. In the context of use in the automotive field, a windshield of the motor vehicle tends to allow more of the P-type polarization component to pass through rather than the S-type polarization. Indeed, due to the angle of incidence of the natural light emitted by the sun, the inclination of the windshield of the motor vehicle and its refractive index, the S-type polarization component is reflected more by said windshield while the P-type polarization component is transmitted. Therefore, inside the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, the natural light emitted by the sun is more polarized according to the polarization direction P. In a search for maxi . mization of the contrast between the ambient light in the passenger compartment and that emitted by the light source, it is therefore particularly advantageous for the optical device to absorb the P-type polarization component of the natural light reflecting on the light arrangement according to the first aspect of the invention, because then, a greater part of the light from the sun is absorbed by the optical device.
[0025] - The optical device is fixed securely to the support, for example by gluing or by clipping onto the support. Optionally, the optical device is overmolded onto the support. This configuration allows for perfect integration of the optical device onto the support.
[0026] - The optical device comprises an absorption polarizer.
[0027] - The optical device is formed by a film, preferably integral with the support or associated with said support. The film is preferably a dichroic film. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to limit the size of the light arrangement in accordance with the first aspect of the invention. By way of non-limiting example, the film forming the optical device comprises a plurality of polyvinyl alcohol sheets which are stretched in a preferred direction and corresponding to a direction of polarization absorbed by said optical device. More particularly, the film forming the optical device is of the type of a polarizing sheet. The polarizing sheet is a polyvinyl alcohol polymer soaked in iodine. During the manufacture of the polarizing sheet, chains of polyvinyl alcohol polymer soaked in iodine are stretched such that they form a row of aligned and linear molecules in the material. This stretching is carried out in a preferred direction, leading to defining the predetermined linear polarization direction of the optical device, perpendicular to the preferred direction. During this stretching, the doping iodine attaches to the molecules of the iodine-soaked polyvinyl alcohol and makes them conductive along the length of the rows of molecules thus formed. Subsequently, when the polarized sheet forming the optical device is exposed to light, the part of the light linearly polarized in a polarization direction parallel to the rows of molecules is absorbed while the part of the light polarized perpendicular to the rows of molecules is transmitted.
[0028] - The light arrangement comprises an angular filtering device configured to reflect or transmit only incident light having an angle of incidence less than a predetermined value, for example equal to 50° relative to an incidence surface of the optical device. This advantageous configuration thus makes it possible to further improve the contrast of the light arrangement in accordance with the first aspect of the invention by carrying out spatial filtering which makes it possible to eliminate, i.e. to absorb and / or not to transmit and / or not to reflect and / or to diffuse light rays which reach the support and the optical device with a angle of incidence too far from that of the polarized light generated by the light source intended to interact with the optical device. In the context of the present invention, the angle of incidence is measured from an axis perpendicular to the incident surface of the optical device.
[0029] - According to a first variant embodiment, the angular filtering device is formed by the support itself. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to avoid saturating the optical device and to offer a more compact architecture.
[0030] - In this first variant embodiment, the support forming the device of angular filtering comprises a plurality of micro-structured elements. Such micro-structured elements can be obtained by applying a layer of matt paint to the support, preferably of the micro-structuring type. This advantageous configuration thus makes it possible to diffuse the incident light for a certain given angular range. Consequently, such an angular filtering device also makes it possible to provide a projection surface for the polarized light generated by the light source which, itself, is intended to be oriented according to an optimal angle of incidence which will not be transformed or almost not at all by the angular filtering device. In this first variant embodiment, the support is no longer Lambertian, but on the contrary has a predetermined bidirectional reflectivity, leading to the light reflected by the support having a non-uniform luminance depending on the direction considered.
[0031] - Particularly advantageously the bidirectional reflectivity of the support forming the angular filtering device is such that it favors the luminance for certain reflection angles corresponding in particular to those of the position of the eyes of the observers of the support in a motor vehicle, in other words, an orientation and / or a configuration of the micro-structured elements forming the angular filtering device are configured to allow a reflection of the incident polarized light coming from the light source intended to collaborate with the light arrangement in a predetermined observation direction, while the ambient light coming for example from the daytime lighting of the passenger compartment and passing through the windshield of the motor vehicle is reflected or diffused in at least one direction different from the observation direction.
[0032] - According to a second variant embodiment, the angular filtering device is located between the optical device and the support. The position of the angular filtering device with respect to the optical device and the support is considered according to the path of the light. In this second embodiment, the angular filtering device is separate from the support. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to avoid saturating the optical device.
[0033] - In this second variant embodiment, the support can be optically Lambertian type, so that the light reflected by the support has the same luminance in all directions considered.
[0034] - In this second variant embodiment, the angular filtering device comprises a film comprising a plurality of thin layers. In particular, the at least one thin-film material of the filtering device comprises titanium dioxide and / or magnesium fluoride and / or silicon dioxide. Thus, the stack of thin layers makes it possible to transmit the incident light rays according to a predetermined range of angles of incidence. More particularly, the incident light rays reaching the angular filtering device with an angle of incidence included in the predetermined range are transmitted towards the support so that, once reflected on the support, they are reflected towards a predetermined observation zone. Conversely, the incident light rays reaching the angular filtering device outside the predetermined range of angle of incidence are reflected by the support in directions located outside the predetermined observation zone.
[0035] - By way of non-limiting example, the predetermined range of angle of incidence of the angular filtering device is between 0° and 30° relative to an angle of incidence normal to the angular filtering device.
[0036] - The light arrangement includes a screen for protecting the optical device. This advantageous configuration makes it possible to protect the light arrangement, and in particular the optical device, against scratches and / or impacts linked to its installation in a motor vehicle interior in particular, or to its use itself.
[0037] - The protective screen is located optically in front of the optical device and, where appropriate where appropriate, of the filtering device. In particular, the protective screen comprises a surface which extends in front of the optical device, the surface being formed of polycarbonate or polymethyl methacrylate acrylic. Alternatively, the protective screen comprises a surface coating of the optical device and, where appropriate, of the filtering device.
[0038] - According to a second aspect of the invention, a lighting system is proposed for a motor vehicle interior, the lighting system comprising: - a light arrangement in accordance with the first aspect of the invention or according to any of its improvements; - a laser module configured to emit linearly polarized light in the direction of the optical device of the light arrangement according to said predetermined linear polarization direction, so that said polarized light emitted by the laser module is transmitted by the optical device towards the support.
[0039] - The laser module forms the light source for the conformal light arrangement to the first aspect of the invention. Advantageously, the laser module is configured to emit linearly polarized light along an S-type polarization direction. Generally, the laser module is configured to emit linearly polarized light along a polarization direction perpendicular to the polarization direction absorbed by the optical device of the light arrangement.
[0040] - In the context of the present invention, the laser module comprises one or several laser sources, each laser source being selectively controllable so as to emit linearly polarized light towards the optical device of the light arrangement. Preferably, the laser module comprises at least one laser source configured to emit green light, at least one laser source configured to emit red light, and at least one laser source configured to emit blue light.
[0041] - Each laser source is configured to emit light polarized according to said predetermined linear polarization direction, as described above. All laser sources forming the laser module have the same linear polarization, and in particular the same linear polarization direction.
[0042] - Each laser source comprises, for example, one or more light-emitting diodes nescent.
[0043] - According to an alternative embodiment, the laser module comprises at least one mi raster or vector type electromechanical system.
[0044] - According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the laser module is advantageously securely attached to a roof of the passenger compartment, so that the polarized light emitted by said laser module reaches the optical device at an angle of incidence of less than 50° relative to an incidence surface of the optical device. The angle of incidence is measured from an axis perpendicular to the incidence surface of the optical device.
[0045] - The support of the light arrangement with which the optical device is associated is preferably a dashboard of the passenger compartment. For example, the support is formed by a part of a dashboard panel of the dashboard.
[0046] Various embodiments of the invention are provided, integrating according to all of their possible combinations the different optional characteristics set out here.
[0047] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description on the one hand, and from several exemplary embodiments given for informational and non-limiting purposes with reference to the appended schematic drawings on the other hand, in which:
[0048] [Fig.l] illustrates a first schematic view of the conformal light arrangement to the first aspect of the invention, in its context of use applied to the motor vehicle;
[0049] [Fig.2] illustrates a schematic view of a lighting system comprising an ar light storage according to the first aspect of the invention.
[0050] Of course, the features, variants and different embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other, in various combinations, provided that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be imagined comprising only a selection of features described below in isolation from the other features described, if this selection of features is sufficient to confer a technical advantage or to differentiate the invention from the state of the prior art.
[0051] In particular, all the variants and all the embodiments described can be combined with each other if nothing prevents this combination from a technical point of view.
[0052] In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.
[0053] With reference to figures 1 and 2, the invention addresses a light arrangement 1 comprising: - a support 11 intended to receive polarized light L1 according to a predetermined linear polarization direction, preferably of type S or P, and more preferably of type S, and coming from a light source 21; - an optical device 13 secured to the support 11, the optical device 13 being configured, on the one hand, to absorb polarized light L1 according to a polarization direction perpendicular to said predetermined linear polarization direction and, on the other hand, to transmit the polarized light L1 according to the predetermined linear polarization direction and coming from the light source 21 towards the support 11.
[0054] Additionally, the light arrangement 1 according to the invention is associated with a light source 21 to form a light system 2. Such a light system 2 thus comprises the light arrangement 1 according to the invention and a laser module forming the light source 21, the laser module being configured to emit in the direction of the optical device 13 of the light arrangement 1 a linearly polarized light L1 according to the predetermined linear polarization direction, so that said polarized light L1 emitted by the laser module is transmitted by the optical device 13 towards the support 11.
[0055] Thus, it is understood that the light transmitted by the optical device 13 is then reflected by the support 11 in the direction of the optical device 13, and passes back through the optical device 13 to be emitted in the direction of an observer 4. During the reflection of the light transmitted by the optical device 13 on the support 11, the polarity The reflection of this transmitted light is preserved, which allows it to re-pass through the optical device 13 without being attenuated by it. In particular, when the light source 21 projects an image, this image will be visible thanks to the reflection of the light emitted by this light source 21 on the support 11, and its transmission through the optical device 13.
[0056] The support 11 forms a rigid structure on which the optical device 13 is attached or with which the optical device 13 is associated. When the invention is implemented in a motor vehicle interior, the support 11 is advantageously a part of a dashboard, and more particularly of a front dashboard on which it is desired to project an image using the light source 21. More generally, the support 11 is a preferably rigid projection surface, which can be flat or curved depending on the desired effects.
[0057] The light reaching the optical device 13 of the light arrangement 1 can come from several sources:
[0058] - of the light source 21 forming a polarized light source L1 to which the light arrangement 1 is associated in the light system 2 according to the invention, that is to say for example the laser module;
[0059] - a daylight source L2, L2', L3 illuminating the light arrangement 1 with a natural light, such as that emitted by the sun 3;
[0060] - possibly other non-polarized light sources.
[0061] The light source 21 generating the polarized light L1 is configured to collaborate with the optical device 13 of the arrangement, so that the polarized light L1 emitted by the light source 21 is transmitted by the optical device 13.
[0062] The sun 3 emits unpolarized light, which contains all the polarization components oriented according to all possible polarization directions.
[0063] Similarly, the possible non-polarized light sources emit light comprising polarizations aligned according to each of the polarization directions, according to a statistically homogeneous distribution.
[0064] Thus, the support 11 and the optical device 13 of the light arrangement 1 are reached by incident rays coming from all or part of these light sources 21, 3. In a particularly advantageous manner, the optical device 13 will make it possible to increase the apparent light intensity of the polarized light L1 emitted by the polarized light source L1 with respect to the non-polarized light sources, so that the contrast of the image projected by the light source is improved. Indeed, the optical device 13 transmits only the part of the incident light which has a linear polarization parallel to the predetermined linear polarization direction, then, statistically, the light intensity of the non-polarized light at the output of the optical device 13 will be less than the incident light intensity, or even substantially equal to half of the incident light intensity.
[0065] More particularly, in the context of application to the automotive field, the daytime light L2, L2', L3 emitted by the sun 3 is an unpolarized light which comprises both - and in statistically equal proportion - a P-type polarization and an S-type polarization. When passing through a windshield 5 of the motor vehicle, a slight shift is introduced, since the windshield 5 reflects - at its outer face 51 - a slightly larger quantity of the S-type polarized incident light rather than the P-type polarized one. This shift is introduced due to the angle of incidence of the daytime light L2, L3 on the windshield, the inclination of said windshield on the motor vehicle and its refractive index. For certain angles of incidence of the daytime light on the windshield, the S component is reflected by the windshield but not the P component.
[0066] The daytime light L2, L3 which enters the passenger compartment is therefore a randomly polarized light, with however a residual polarization which is mainly of type P and a minor part of type S.
[0067] Consequently, the daylight L2, L3 present in the passenger compartment and reaching the optical device 13 of the light arrangement 1 interacts with the optical device 13 which ultimately only allows one of these two polarizations to pass.
[0068] Advantageously, the optical device 13 is configured to allow the S-type polarization to pass and to absorb the P-type polarization.
[0069] Thus, at the output of the optical device 13, that is to say at the level of the projection surface formed on the support 11 by the light arrangement 1, only the part of the daylight L2' which has a polarization of type S remains, in reduced quantity compared to the daylight L2, L3 initially emitted by the sun 3 and taken outside the passenger compartment.
[0070] Consequently, the lighting system 2 according to the invention therefore provides for associating with this lighting arrangement 1, the light source 21 generating a linearly polarized light L1, and preferably of type S. Thus, in proportion to the daytime light L2, L2', L3 polarized of type S having passed through the windshield 5 and the optical device 13, the light polarized L1 by the light source 21 will be more reflected by the support, and the image projected by the light source 21 will appear with better contrast. Typically, the invention now makes it possible to use light sources 21, 3 of the type of a laser module comprising laser sources of class less than or equal to 2.
[0071] Of course, the laser module may comprise a plurality of laser sources, and in particular, at least one laser source configured to emit green light, at least one laser source configured to emit red light, and at least one laser source configured to emit blue-colored light. Each laser source of the laser module generates polarized light along the predetermined linear polarization direction, and preferably along the direction S.
[0072] With reference to [Fig. 2], the optical device 13 is located between the light source 21 generating the polarized light L1 and the support 11, so that the optical device 13 is located opposite the light source 21 so that the polarized light L1 generated by the light source 21 directly reaches the optical device 13.The optical device 13 forms a transmission surface for the part of the incident polarized light L1 whose polarization direction corresponds to the predetermined linear polarization direction of the optical device 13, and an absorption surface for the part of the incident polarized light L1 whose polarization direction is perpendicular to the predetermined linear polarization direction of the optical device 13.
[0073] The optical device 13 is fixed integrally to the support 11 by gluing or by means of overmolding.
[0074] The optical device 13 is advantageously of the absorption polarizer type.
[0075] Alternatively or additionally, the optical device 13 comprises an angular filtering device 12 configured to reflect or transmit only incident polarized light and / or incident daylight L2, L3 and / or incident unpolarized light having an angle of incidence included within an opening angle 15 shown in dotted lines in [Fig. 2]. By way of example or limitation, the opening angle 15 is chosen so that the angular filtering device 12 reflects or transmits only incident polarized light and / or incident daylight L2, L3 and / or incident unpolarized light having an angle of incidence less than 50°, measured from an axis O perpendicular to the surface of incidence of the optical device 13.
[0076] According to a first variant embodiment, the angular filtering device 12 is formed by the support 11 itself. The support 11 forming the angular filtering device 12 comprises a plurality of micro-structured elements. Such micro-structured elements can be obtained by applying a layer of matt paint to the support, preferably of the micro-structuring type.
[0077] According to a second embodiment, the angular filtering device 12 is located between the optical device 13 and the support 11. The angular filtering device 12 is then separate from the support 11. The angular filtering device 12 comprises a film comprising a plurality of thin layers. In particular, the thin layers of the filtering device comprise titanium dioxide and / or magnesium fluoride and / or silicon dioxide. The stacking of the thin layers makes it possible to transmit the incident light rays according to a predetermined range of angles. of incidence shown in [Fig.2] as an opening angle 15. The incident light rays having such an angle of incidence included in the opening angle 15 are then reflected by the support 11.
[0078] Thus, the angular filtering device 12 is particularly clever in its combination with the optical device 13 since it makes it possible to attenuate and / or absorb and / or diffuse and / or reflect in a direction opposite to the observer 4 any light ray which has an angle of incidence too far from that of the light rays emitted by the light source 21 generating the polarized light L1, that is to say located outside the opening angle 15. In [Fig. 2], the rays L1' and L2' thus correspond to light rays having a linear polarization parallel to the predetermined linear polarization direction emitted by the light source and transmitted by the optical device 13 and whose angle of incidence on the optical device 13 and / or on the angular filtering device 12 is included in the opening angle 15, so that they are reflected by the support 11 in the direction of the observer 4.Conversely, the other light rays which reach the optical device 13, either with a polarization perpendicular to the predetermined linear polarization direction of the optical device 13, or with an angle of incidence outside the opening angle 15 are respectively absorbed by the optical device 13 or reflected in a direction other than that of the observer 4. Thus, the angular filtering device 12 makes it possible to reinforce the contrast of the image formed by the light source 21 on the projection surface of the light arrangement 1.
[0079] Finally, the light arrangement 1 comprises a protective screen 14 for the optical device 13. The protective screen 14 is located optically in front of the optical device 13 and, where appropriate, of the angular filtering device 12. In particular, the protective screen 14 comprises a surface which extends in front of the optical device 13, the surface being formed of polycarbonate or poly-acrylic methyl methacrylate. Alternatively, the protective screen 14 comprises a surface coating of the optical device 13 and, where appropriate, of the angular filtering device 12.
