Description
Title of the invention: ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING AT LEAST ONE PIECE OF INFORMATION RELATING TO AN ELECTRICAL RECHARGE OF A VEHICLE BATTERY
[0001] The technical field of the invention relates to motor vehicles, in particular of the electric or hybrid type. One aspect of the invention relates more particularly to an electronic device for displaying at least one item of information relating to an electrical recharge of a battery for an electric or hybrid vehicle.
[0002] Electric or hybrid vehicles draw their electrical energy from on-board batteries. These batteries must be regularly recharged by connecting them to a charging station powered by an electricity distribution network.
[0003] Charging a battery at a charging station is generally carried out in public places (urban car parks, shopping centre car parks, rest areas, service stations, etc.) and can last several hours. During this charging, the vehicle is generally locked, with no occupants on board or nearby, and it is impossible for other users of electric vehicles to determine when the charging will end. This impossibility often leads to queues or congestion in these places for those looking for an available electric charging station.
[0004] The aim of the invention is in particular to propose an electronic device making it possible to display at least one item of information relating to an electrical recharge of a battery for an electric or hybrid vehicle.

[0021] [Fig.5] illustrates, schematically, a profile view of a vehicle window on which a support is arranged.
[0022] The figures are presented for information purposes only and in no way limit the invention.
[0023] Unless otherwise specified, the same element appearing in different figures has a single reference.
[0024] [Fig.l] illustrates an electric vehicle 1 equipped with an electronic device 2 for displaying at least one item of information relating to an ongoing electrical recharge of a battery included in the vehicle 1.
[0025] The device 2 is arranged behind the windshield 3 of the vehicle 1. According to the embodiment illustrated, the device 2 forms a circular pancake. It is understood that this circular pancake shape is not limiting so that the device 2 could take any other shape and could form, for example, a square, rectangular, triangular or even ovoid pancake.
[0026] The device 2 comprises means of communication 4 with means of control 5 of the vehicle 1. According to a non-limiting embodiment, these means of control 5 are formed by a vehicle control unit (better known as the acronym VCU for Vehicle Control Unit in English). According to another non-limiting embodiment, these control means 5 are formed by a battery control system (better known by the acronym BMS for Battery Management System in English).
[0027] Such control means 5 have information relating to an end time of electrical recharging of the vehicle battery, a start time of electrical recharging, a charge level of the battery and a state of the electrical recharging. In addition, these control means 5 also have information relating to an end time of a transfer of electrical energy from the battery to an electrical network external to the vehicle, a start time of the transfer of electrical energy, and a state of electrical energy transfer. This information can be determined by the control means 5 from data supplied by different computers of the vehicle 1.
[0028] In order to be able to exchange data with the control means 5 of the vehicle 1, the communication means 4 comprise connection means 6 to the control means 5.
[0029] According to a non-limiting embodiment, the connection means 6 are of the wired type.
[0030] According to another embodiment, the connection means 6 are of the wireless type and use for example a communication protocol of the RFID, NFC or WiFi type.
[0031] The communication means 4 are constructed and arranged to obtain from the control means 5: • Information reflecting an end time for electric charging; • Information reflecting an electric charging start time; • Information reflecting the battery charge level; • Information reflecting the status of the electric recharge.
[0032] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting an end time of electric recharging is formed by the end time of recharging or a remaining recharging duration making it possible to estimate the end time of recharging.
[0033] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting an electric charging start time is formed by the charging start time or a charging duration carried out making it possible to estimate the charging start time.
[0034] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting a battery recharge level can be formed by a level called SoC (for State of Charge in English).
[0035] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting a state of the electrical recharge may be formed by information reflecting a recharge in progress, a recharge completed or an anomaly in the recharge in progress.
[0036] The electronic device 2 for displaying at least one piece of information relating to a electric recharging of a battery included in the vehicle 1 also includes: • Means of displaying 7 information reflecting an end time for electric charging; • Means of displaying 7 information reflecting an electric charging start time; • Means of displaying 7 information reflecting a level of electric recharge; • Means of displaying 8 the state of electric charging.
[0037] In the example illustrated, the display means 7 for displaying the information reflecting an end time for electric charging are formed by a main screen of circular type. This main screen is arranged in the center of the device 2 and displays the end time for charging, namely 3:45 a.m.
[0038] Thus, when a user approaches vehicle 1, he can read the end time of the electric recharge and decide whether to wait or head towards another available electric recharge terminal more quickly.
[0039] In a different embodiment not shown, the end of charging time can be replaced by a remaining charging time. Thus, when a user wishes to estimate the end of charging time, it is sufficient to add the remaining charging time with the current time.
[0040] In the example illustrated, the means 7 for displaying the information reflecting a start time for electric charging are also formed by the main screen. This main screen displays the start time for electric charging, namely 1h30.
[0041] This information can be useful when the vehicle is parked in a place where the parking time is limited. Thus, even if the electric charging is not finished, a user can identify that the authorized parking time is soon to expire and that the space will soon be freed.
[0042] In a different embodiment not shown, the charging start time can be replaced by a charging duration completed. Thus, when a user wishes to estimate the charging start time, it is sufficient to subtract the charging duration completed from the current time.
[0043] Furthermore, the means 7 for displaying the information reflecting a start time for electric recharging are formed by the main screen. It is understood that these means could be formed by a second screen.
[0044] In the example illustrated, the display means 7 for displaying information reflecting a level of electrical recharge are formed by the main screen. This main screen displays a percentage of electrical recharge, namely 66%.
[0045] Thus, the driver can easily determine the percentage of recharge of his battery and decide to interrupt the electric recharge if the recharge level of the battery is sufficient.
[0046] In a different embodiment not shown, the information reflecting an electric recharge level can be replaced by a recharge level not carried out. In the illustrated example, the 66% would be replaced by 44%.
[0047] Furthermore, the means 7 for displaying the information reflecting a level of electric recharge are formed by the main screen. It is understood that these means could be formed by a second screen or a third screen.
[0048] In the example illustrated, the display means 8 for displaying the information reflecting the state of electrical recharging are formed by two secondary screens arranged on either side of the main screen. These two secondary screens are located at the periphery of the device 2.
[0049] In a different embodiment, the display means 8 for displaying the information reflecting the state of electric recharging could be formed by the main screen.
[0050] In the example illustrated, each of the secondary screens displays a flash indicating that electrical charging is in progress.
[0051] [Fig.2] illustrates an electric vehicle 1 equipped with an electronic device 2 for displaying at least one item of information relating to a completed electric recharge of a battery included in the vehicle 1.
[0052] In the example illustrated, the display means 7 of the information reflecting an electrical recharge level display an electrical recharge percentage of 100%. Furthermore, the display means 8 of the information reflecting the electrical recharge state no longer display the two flashes. This absence of flashes indicates that the electrical recharge is complete.
[0053] Thus, a user wishing to recharge his battery is informed that the electric recharge is finished and that the driver will come to collect his vehicle shortly.
[0054] [Fig. 3] illustrates an electric vehicle 1 equipped with an electronic device 2 for displaying at least one item of information relating to an electrical recharge of a battery included in the vehicle 1, said electrical recharge exhibiting an anomaly.
[0055] In the example illustrated, the means 8 for displaying the information reflecting the state of electrical recharging display two triangular panels each comprising an exclamation mark. These two panels reflect an anomaly in the electrical recharging in progress.
[0056] Thus, a user wishing to recharge his battery is informed that the electric recharge has encountered a problem and that it is preferable to go to another electric recharge terminal.
[0057] [Fig.4] illustrates an electric vehicle 1 equipped with an electronic device 2 for displaying at least one item of information relating to an electric recharge of a battery included in the vehicle 1, said display device displaying a transfer of electrical energy from the battery to an electrical network external to the vehicle.
[0058] According to this embodiment, the communication means 5 are constructed and arranged to obtain from the control means 6: • Information reflecting the end time of a transfer of electrical energy from the battery to an electrical network outside the vehicle; • Information reflecting a start time of the transfer of electrical energy; and • Information reflecting a state of electrical energy transfer.
[0059] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting an end time of an electrical energy transfer is formed by the end time of the electrical energy transfer or a remaining electrical energy transfer duration making it possible to estimate the end time of the transfer.
[0060] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting a start time of the transfer of electrical energy is formed by the start time of the transfer of electrical energy or a duration of electrical energy transfer carried out making it possible to estimate the start time of the transfer of electrical energy.
[0061] In a non-limiting manner, the information reflecting a state of electrical energy transfer may be formed by information reflecting an ongoing electrical energy transfer, a completed electrical energy transfer or an anomaly of the ongoing electrical energy transfer.
[0062] The electronic device 2 for displaying at least one item of information relating to an electrical recharge of a battery included in the vehicle 1 further comprises: • Means 7 for displaying information reflecting an end time of a transfer of electrical energy from the battery to an electrical network outside the vehicle; • Means 7 for displaying information reflecting a start time of the transfer of electrical energy; • Means 8 for displaying information reflecting a state of electrical energy transfer.
[0063] In the illustrated example, the display means 7 for displaying the information reflecting an end time of an electrical energy transfer are formed by the main screen of circular type. This main screen displays the end time of the transfer, namely 3:45 in the illustrated example.
[0064] In a different embodiment not shown, the end time of the electrical energy transfer may be replaced by a remaining electrical energy transfer duration.
[0065] In the example illustrated, the display means 7 of the information reflecting a The start time of the electrical energy transfer is formed by the main screen. This screen displays the start time of the electrical energy transfer, namely 1:30.
[0066] In a different embodiment not shown, the start time of the electrical energy transfer may be replaced by a duration of electrical energy transfer carried out.
[0067] In the example illustrated, the display means 8 for displaying the information reflecting the state of the transfer of electrical energy are formed by the two secondary screens arranged on either side of the main screen.
[0068] In the example illustrated, each of the secondary screens displays a double arrow indicating that the transfer of electrical energy is in progress.
[0069] If the electrical power transfer is complete, the two secondary screens may no longer display the two double arrows. If the electrical power transfer encounters a problem, the two secondary screens may display a triangular panel including an exclamation point.
[0070] [Fig. 5] illustrates a side view of a glazing 3 of a vehicle on which a support 9 is arranged. This support 9 can be secured to the glazing 3 by securing means formed by a suction cup or by a surface covered with an adhesive material. An electronic display device 2 according to the invention is arranged between the glazing 3 and the support 9.
