Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Cosmetic treatment process
[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic hair treatment method, consisting of applying in a sequential manner, a pre-shampoo cosmetic composition, then a shampoo-type cleansing cosmetic composition, and finally a conditioner-type composition.
[0002] Hair can be weakened or damaged by the action of external atmospheric agents such as light and inclement weather, or by mechanical or chemical treatments such as brushing, combing, dyeing, bleaching, perming, and / or straightening. To remedy these problems, it is common to use hair care products that condition the hair. These hair care products can be conditioning shampoos or conditioners, which may be in the form of gels, hair lotions, or creams of varying thicknesses.
[0003] To improve the cosmetic properties of these compositions, it is known to introduce into them conditioning agents intended mainly to repair or limit the harmful or undesirable effects induced by the various treatments or aggressions which the hair fibers undergo, more or less repeatedly.
[0004] To this end, it has already been proposed to use, among other things, organosilanes in cosmetic care compositions to give hair satisfactory conditioning properties. Such compositions are described, for example, in patent applications FR2910276, EP2343042 and EP2111848.
[0005] However, the hair care compositions described in these documents provide conditioning and detangling properties that do not last long enough. In fact, these properties generally do not withstand washing well and tend to diminish after the first shampoo. In other words, even if these hair care compositions provide acceptable results during and immediately after use, it has been observed that these effects tend to disappear with repeated washings; it is therefore necessary to regularly reapply the hair care products to maintain adequate conditioning effects.
[0006] Application WO2016 / 083578 then proposed a hair care composition capable of providing not only satisfactory but also lasting conditioning properties after washing, for example, lasting at least after 3 shampoos. This hair care composition comprises a combination of organosilanes, high charge density cationic polymers and cationic surfactants.
[0007] A hair treatment method comprising the sequential application of a composition including organosilanes and a hair care or washing composition has also been proposed, for example by EP2111849. This document describes, in particular, the use of a composition including an organosilane as a pre-shampoo treatment, i.e., applied to the hair before washing with a shampoo containing at least one anionic surfactant and one amphoteric surfactant. This method notably results in soft, smooth hair that is easy to detangle.
[0008] However, it is still possible to improve the performance provided by such compositions, in particular in terms of providing strength (denser, more rigid hair), while maintaining a certain lightness (toned and flowing hair) as well as in terms of cosmetic properties such as detangling and smoothing to the touch; and this both immediately, when the composition is applied to the hair (at T0), but also in a residual manner, that is to say after several shampoos, for example residual effect after 2 to 4 shampoos.
[0009] This is the objective sought by the present invention.
[0010] The present invention therefore relates to a cosmetic treatment process, preferably for hair, of keratin fibers, in particular hair, especially human hair, comprising:
[0011] - a step (i) of applying to said keratin fibers, a composition cosmetic A comprising one or more organosilanes, then
[0012] - a step (ii) of washing said keratin fibers, comprising the application of a cleansing cosmetic composition B comprising one or more anionic surfactants and / or one or more amphoteric surfactants, then
[0013] - a step (iii) of applying to said keratin fibers, a composition cosmetic C comprising one or more amino acid type compounds and one or more hydroxylated (poly)carboxylic acids, comprising 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and / or their salts.
[0014] The process according to the invention makes it possible to bring strength and resistance to the hair, hence a visible indentation of the fiber, thus leading in particular to a reduction in hair breakage during subsequent styling or blow-drying steps and / or to a reduction in the presence of split ends at the tips of the hair.
[0015] Furthermore, the cosmetic properties of the fiber, such as detangling, smooth feel and elasticity, are improved.
[0016] These properties may be residual to subsequent shampoos, for example residual for up to at least 3 shampoos.
[0017] The cosmetic treatment process according to the invention therefore comprises a step (i) comprising the application to the hair of a cosmetic composition A such that defined below. This composition A is used as a pre-shampoo (before using a shampoo).
[0018] This step may or may not be followed by a pause step, for example a pause time of 1 to 15 minutes, in particular 2 to 5 minutes.
[0019] This step may also optionally be followed by a rinsing step, for example with water, before implementation of step (ii). Preferably, said step (i) is not followed by a rinsing step.
[0020] The cosmetic treatment process, in particular for hair according to the invention, also includes a washing step (ii), consisting of the application to the hair of a washing cosmetic composition B as defined below.
[0021] This step may or may not be followed by a pause step, for example a pause time of 1 to 15 minutes, in particular 2 to 5 minutes. It may also be followed by a rinsing step, for example with water.
[0022] Preferably, the process according to the invention includes an intermediate rinsing step between steps (ii) and (iii).
[0023] The cosmetic treatment process, in particular for hair according to the invention, also includes a step (iii) consisting of the application to the hair of a cosmetic composition C as defined below, comprising one or more amino acid type compounds and one or more hydroxylated (poly)carboxylic acids, comprising 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and / or their salts.
[0024] This step may or may not be followed by a pause step, for example a pause time of 1 to 15 minutes, in particular 2 to 5 minutes. It may also be followed by a rinsing step, for example with water; and / or a drying step, for example using a hairdryer or in the open air.
[0025] Preferably, the process according to the invention includes a rinsing step and a drying step, after step (iii).
[0026] The application step (i) of composition A and the washing step (ii) with composition B are carried out successively, or sequentially, which means that the application step (i) is carried out before the washing step (ii), intermediate steps, for example of pause and / or rinse, may be present between these two steps.
[0027] The time separating said step (i) of application of composition A (or pre-shampoo) from step (ii) of washing the hair is at most 60 minutes; it can for example be between 30 seconds and 60 minutes, in particular between 1 and 30 minutes, or even between 2 and 20 minutes, even better between 3 and 15 minutes, and especially between 4 and 10 minutes.
[0028] The washing step (ii) and the application step (iii) of composition C are carried out successively, or sequentially, which means that the washing step (ii) is carried out before the application step (iii), intermediate steps, for example pause and / or rinse may be present between these two steps.
[0029] The time separating said washing step (ii) from the application step (iii) of composition C is at most 60 minutes; it can for example be between 30 seconds and 60 minutes, in particular between 1 and 30 minutes, or even between 2 and 20 minutes, even better between 3 and 15 minutes, and especially between 4 and 10 minutes.
[0030] The process according to the invention advantageously provides a visible strengthening of the fiber (= addition of strength) and instant detangling, especially on wet hair, and this in a lasting way to subsequent shampoos, for example lasting up to at least 3 shampoos.
[0031] The invention therefore also relates to the use of said process for the visible strengthening of the fiber (= addition of strength) and / or for improving detangling, in particular on wet hair, and this advantageously in a way that remains effective after subsequent shampoos, for example, lasting up to at least 3 shampoos.
[0032] In the present description, the expression "at least one" is equivalent to the expression "one or more" and may be substituted for it; the expression "between x and y" is equivalent to the expression "from x to y" and may be substituted for it, and implies that the bounds are included. When it designates a hydrocarbon radical, the hydrophobic group comprises at least 10 carbon atoms, preferably from 10 to 30 carbon atoms, in particular from 12 to 30 carbon atoms and more preferably from 18 to 30 carbon atoms.
[0156] Preferably, the hydrocarbon group originates from a monofunctional compound.
[0157] By way of example, the hydrophobic group may be derived from a fatty alcohol such as stearyl alcohol, dodecyl alcohol, or decyl alcohol. It may also refer to a hydrocarbon polymer such as, for example, polybutadiene.
[0158] When X and / or X' denote a group comprising a tertiary or quaternary amine, X and / or X' may represent one of the following formulas: R, I ' for X for X'

[0172] and A- is a physiologically acceptable anionic counterion such as halide like chloride or bromide or mesylate.
[0173] As regards the meaning of Y, a hydrophilic group is understood to be a water-soluble group, whether polymeric or not.

[0175] When, according to a preferred embodiment, the polymer is hydrophilic, examples include polyethers, sulfonated polyesters, sulfonated polyamides, or a mixture of these polymers. Preferably, the hydrophilic compound is a polyether, and in particular poly(ethylene oxide) or poly(propylene oxide).
[0176] The cationic associative polyurethanes of formula (la) according to the invention are formed from diisocyanates and various compounds possessing hydrogen-labile functions. The hydrogen-labile functions may be alcohol, primary or secondary amine, or thiol functions, which, after reaction with the dii-socyanate functions, give polyurethanes, polyureas, and polythioureas, respectively. The term "polyurethanes" in the present invention encompasses these three types of polymers, namely polyurethanes proper, polyureas, and polythioureas, as well as copolymers of these.
[0177] A first type of compound used in the preparation of polyurethane of formula (la) is a compound comprising at least one amine functional group. This compound may be multifunctional, but preferably it is difunctional, that is to say, according to a preferred embodiment, this compound comprises two labile hydrogen atoms attached, for example, to a hydroxyl, primary amine, secondary amine, or thiol functional group. A mixture of multifunctional and difunctional compounds may also be used in which the percentage of multifunctional compounds is low.
[0178] As previously stated, this compound may comprise more than one amine functional group. It is then a polymer bearing a repetition of the amine functional group.
[0179] This type of compound can be represented by one of the following formulas:
[0180] HZ-(P)n-ZH, or HZ-(P')p-ZH, in which Z, P, P', n and p are such as defined higher.

[0185] A third compound used in the preparation of the polyurethane of formula (la) is a hydrophobic compound intended to form the terminal hydrophobic groups of the polymer of formula (la).
[0186] This compound consists of a hydrophobic group and a labile hydrogen function, for example a hydroxyl, primary or secondary amine, or thiol function.
[0187] By way of example, this compound may be a fatty alcohol, such as stearyl alcohol, dodecyl alcohol, or decyl alcohol. When this compound has a polymer chain, it may be, for example, alpha-hydroxy hydrogenated polybutadiene.
[0188] The hydrophobic group of polyurethane of formula (la) can also result from the quaternization reaction of the tertiary amine of the compound having at least one tertiary amine motif. Thus, the hydrophobic group is introduced by the quaternizing agent. This quaternizing agent is a compound of the type RQ or R'Q, in which R and R' are as defined above and Q denotes a leaving group such as a halide, a sulfate, etc.
[0189] The cationic associative polyurethane may further comprise a hy sequence Drophile. This sequence is provided by a fourth type of compound used in the polymer preparation. This compound can be multifunctional. It is preferably difunctional. A mixture with a low percentage of the multifunctional compound is also possible.
[0190] The hydrogen-labile functions are alcohol, primary or secondary amine, or thiol functions. This compound may be a polymer terminated at the ends of the chains by one of these hydrogen-labile functions.
[0191] By way of example, when not polymers are involved, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and propylene glycol can be cited.
[0192] When dealing with a hydrophilic polymer, examples include polyethers, sulfonated polyesters, sulfonated polyamides, or a mixture of these polymers. Preferably, the hydrophilic compound is a polyether, and in particular a poly(ethylene oxide) or poly(propylene oxide).
[0193] The hydrophilic group denoted Y in formula (la) is optional. Indeed, the quaternary or protonated amine motifs may be sufficient to provide the solubility or hydrodispersibility necessary for this type of polymer in an aqueous solution.
[0194] Although the presence of a hydrophilic Y group is optional, cationic associative polyurethanes containing such a group are preferred.

[0627] In particular, composition C may advantageously include one or more thickeners, preferably chosen from thickening polymers, and even better from thickening polysaccharides, which may be of natural or synthetic origin.
[0628] Polysaccharides can be anionic, non-ionic, cationic or amphoteric; they are preferably anionic or non-ionic.
[0629] The basic units of polysaccharides can be mono- or disaccharides. The motifs that can be included in the composition of polysaccharides are preferably derived from the following sugars: glucose, galactose, arabinose, rhamnose, mannose, xylose, fucose, fructose, anhydrogalactose.
[0630] Examples of thickening polysaccharides include the following polymers and their derivatives:

[0640] These polymers can be modified physically or chemically. Physical treatments include temperature. Chemical treatments include esterification, etherification, amidation, and oxidation reactions. These treatments lead to polymers that can be nonionic, cationic, or amphoteric.
[0641] The nonionic guar gums usable according to the invention can be modified by C1-C6 hydroxylakyl groups. Among the hydroxyalkyl groups, mention may be made of hydroxymethyl, hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl, and hydroxybutyl groups. These guar gums are well known in the prior art and can, for example, be prepared by reacting corresponding alkene oxides, such as propylene oxides, with guar gum, so as to obtain guar gum modified by hydroxypropyl groups. The degree of hydroxyalkylation preferably varies from 0.4 to 1.2 and corresponds to the number of alkylene oxide molecules consumed per number of free hydroxyl groups present on the guar gum.Such non-ionic guar gums, possibly modified by hydroxyalkyl groups, are for example sold under the trade names JAGUAR HP8, JAGUAR HP60 and JAGUAR HP120 by the company RHODIA CHIMIE.
[0642] Guar gums modified with cationic groups, particularly useful according to the invention, are guar gums comprising trialkylammonium cationic groups. Preferably, 2 to 30% by number of the hydroxyl groups of these guar gums bear trialkylammonium cationic groups. Even more preferably, 5 to 20% of the hydroxyl groups of these guar gums are branched by trialkylammonium cationic groups. Among these trialkylammonium groups, trimethylammonium and triethylammonium groups are particularly noteworthy. Even more preferably, these groups represent 5 to 20% by weight relative to the total weight of the modified guar gum. According to the invention, guar gums modified with 2,3-epoxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride can be used. These guar gums modified by cationic groups are products already known in themselves and are described for example in US patents 3,589,578 and 4,013,130. Such products are sold in particular under the trade names JAGUAR C13 S, JAGUAR C 15, JAGUAR C 17 by the company RHODIA CHIMIE.

[0644] The starch molecules used in the present invention may originate from any plant source of starch, in particular cereals and tubers; more specifically, they may be starches from maize, rice, cassava, barley, potato, wheat, sorghum, peas, oats, or tapioca. Hydrolysates of the starches mentioned above or other starch derivatives may also be used. The starch is preferably derived from potato. The starches may be modified chemically or physically, in particular by one or more of the following reactions: pregelatinization, oxidation, crosslinking, esterification, etherification, amidation, and heat treatments.
[0645] More specifically, these reactions can be carried out in the following way:
[0646] - pregelatinization by bursting the starch granules (for example, drying and cooking in a drum dryer);
[0647] - oxidation by strong oxidants leading to the introduction of carboxyl groups in the starch molecule and to the depolymerization of the starch molecule (for example by treating an aqueous solution of starch with sodium hypochlorite);
[0648] - crosslinking by functional agents capable of reacting with groups hydroxyl groups of starch molecules which will thus be linked together (for example with glyceryl and / or phosphate groups);
[0649] - esterification in alkaline medium for the grafting of functional groups, in particular acyl in C1-C6 (acetyl), hydroxyalkyl in C1-C6 (hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl), carboxymethyl, octenylsuccinic.
[0650] Among starch derivatives, dextrins can be notably mentioned.
[0651] According to the invention, amphoteric starches comprising one or more anionic groups and one or more cationic groups can also be used. The anionic and cationic groups may be linked to the same reactive site of the starch molecule or to different reactive sites; preferably, they are linked to the same reactive site. The anionic groups may be of the carboxylic, phosphate, or sulfate type, and preferably carboxylic. The cationic groups may be of the primary, secondary, tertiary, or quaternary amine type.
[0652] Amphoteric starches are in particular selected from compounds with the following formulas: R' R HC—C—COOM / H St-O“(GH,VhL „ u \ HH CC — COOM (Î8) I R' R COOM R HQ---C—COOM / H St“O-(CHsVN (H la) R\ n' ! St - O “ C —C - COOM H.> H R\ R" (iVa) 'N / St —O — O ---C--COOM H H.,.
[0653] in which:

The preferred amphoteric starch is a starch chloroethylamido dipropionate.
[0661] Cellulose and cellulose derivatives can be anionic, cationic, amphoteric or nonionic. Among these derivatives, cellulose ethers, cellulose esters and cellulose ether esters may be mentioned.
[0662] Among the nonionic cellulose ethers, examples include alkylcelluloses such as methylcelluloses and ethylcelluloses (for example, Ethocel Standard 100 Premium from DOW CHEMICAL); hydroxyalkylcelluloses such as hydroxymethylcelluloses, hydroxyethylcelluloses (for example, Natrosol 250 HHR offered by AQUALON) and hydroxypropylcelluloses (for example, Klucel EF from AQUALON); mixed hydroxyalkyl-alkylcelluloses such as hydroxypropylmethylcelluloses (for example, Methocel E4M from DOW CHEMICAL), hydroxyethylmethylcelluloses, hydroxyethylethylcelluloses (for example, Bermocoll E 481 FQ from AKZO NOBEL) and hydroxybutylmethylcelluloses.
[0663] Among cationic cellulose ethers, crosslinked or non-crosslinked quaternized hydroxyethylcelluloses may be mentioned. The quaternizing agent may be, in particular, diallyldimethylammonium chloride (for example, Celquat L200 from NATIONAL STARCH). Another cationic cellulose ether is hydroxyethylcellulose hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium (for example, Ucare polymer JR 400 from AMERCHOL).
[0664] Preferably, the composition comprises one or more thickening agents selected from, alone or in mixture, non-ionic polysaccharides, better selected from, alone or in mixture, non-ionic guar gums modified by C1-C6 hydroxylakyl groups.

[0671] Apply composition A above to previously wet hair, and leave for a few minutes (0 to 5 minutes).
[0672] Next, a standard shampoo composition (comprising anionic and amphoteric surfactants) is applied to unrinsed hair, washed in the usual way, and then the hair is rinsed with water.
[0673] Next, apply composition C, leave for a few minutes before rinsing the hair with water, then dry with a hairdryer or let it air dry.
[0674] Before drying, it is observed that damp hair detangles very easily.
[0675] After drying, the hair appears to have been repaired. The hair's interior is visibly strengthened; detangling, smoothness, and elasticity are improved. Hair repair is consistent from root to tip.
[0676] The process according to the invention makes it possible to obtain the association of a repair at the heart of the fiber with instant detangling, especially on wet hair, an addition of strength and this in a lasting way. Example 2
[0677] The denaturation temperature of strands treated according to the invention is compared with that of the comparative strands.
[0678] PI: Protocol according to the invention
[0679] Step 1: On moderately sensitized hair strands (SA20), apply Composition A from example 1 is used at a rate of 0.4g of composition per gram of hair strand. The composition is left on the hair for a processing time of 5 minutes.
[0680] Step 2: A shampoo composition is applied at a rate of 0.4g of composition per gram of strand. The strands are then rinsed with water.
[0681] Step 3: Composition C from example 1 is applied, at a rate of 0.4g of composition per gram of wick, then rinse with water after a 5 minute waiting time.
[0682] Steps 2 and 3 are repeated 4 times.
[0683] P2: Comparative Protocol
[0684] Step 1: On moderately sensitized hair strands (SA20), the shampoo composition is applied at a rate of 0.4g of composition per gram of strand. The strands are then rinsed with water.
[0685] Step 2: Composition C is applied, at a rate of 0.4g of composition per gram of wick, then rinse with water after a 5 minute waiting time.
[0686] Steps 1 and 2 are repeated 4 times.
[0687] The integrity (i.e. repair) of the keratin fibers of the strands is then evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (also called DSC).
[0688] The principle of the test consists of measuring the protein denaturation temperature. The higher the protein denaturation temperature, the better the integrity of the cortex proteins, which translates into greater fiber strength.
[0689] The following results are obtained:
[0690] [Tables3] Untreated control Protocol 1 invention Protocol 2 comparison Denaturation temperature (°C) 141.3 156.9 154
[0691] It is observed that the PI protocol according to the invention makes it possible to increase the denaturation temperature of the fiber proteins significantly compared to the comparative P2 protocol.
[0692] The protocol according to the invention therefore makes it possible to improve the strengthening / repair of the hair.
