Description

Title of the invention: Motor vehicle comprising an air conditioning compressor and a support for said compressor

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of motor vehicles and in particular the fixing of a compressor in a vehicle comprising at least one electrical machine.

[0002] The compressor is preferably an air conditioning compressor of an air conditioning system.

[0003] The motor vehicle may be thermally powered, the electric machine being an alternator-starter. Alternatively, the motor vehicle may be a thermal and electric vehicle by being a hybrid vehicle, the electric machine ensuring at least partial propulsion of the vehicle. The motor vehicle may also be an electrically powered vehicle.

[0004] Today, the compressors of the air conditioning system of the motor vehicle are fixed on the electric machine, which makes it possible to take advantage of the latter's filtration. The electric machine is then connected to a support crossmember by two suspension pieces, each located at an opposite end of the electric machine.

[0005] The positioning of one of these suspension parts is faced with a lack of space which limits the fixing of the compressor other than on the electric machine.

[0006] Furthermore, the size of the electric compressors named "e-compressors" no longer allow their integration into engines. Indeed, such compressors require a more efficient filtration requirement, so they can no longer be attached to the electric machine of the powertrain.

[0007] In order to remedy this change in dimensions, such e-compressors are installed on crosspieces added for this purpose.

[0008] However, adding a crossbar can be particularly restrictive in terms of space requirements and safety.

[0009] There is therefore a need to improve the fixing of new air conditioning compressors in a motor vehicle comprising at least one electrical machine.

[0010] An objective of the invention is to provide a mounting for an air conditioning compressor, while ensuring sufficient space for a compressor filtration system.

[0011] The invention aims in particular to eliminate the additional crosspieces on which the e-compressors are fixed.

[0012] The present invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a cradle of vehicle attached to a chassis and extending transversely along a transverse axis, a technical front face and a compressor of an air conditioning system.

[0013] The vehicle comprises a support extending along a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the transverse axis and comprising two opposite longitudinal ends each fixed respectively to the technical front face and to the cradle.

[0014] The compressor is fixed on said support.

[0015] This allows for reliable fixing of an air conditioning compressor, while ensuring sufficient space for a compressor filtration system.

[0016] Furthermore, due to its shape, the support makes it possible to absorb the forces of a frontal impact on the technical front face.

[0017] Advantageously, the support comprises at least one boss extending along a vertical axis and comprising a bore cooperating with serial screw elements for fixing the compressor.

[0018] For example, the compressor comprises at least one fixing lug allowing fixing to a boss of the support.

[0019] Preferably, the support comprises at least two bosses each extending along the vertical axis and each comprising a bore cooperating with serial screw elements for fixing the compressor.

[0020] The bosses are for example made by stamping a metal sheet.

[0021] The bosses are, for example, parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction.

[0022] Advantageously, the support comprises a body of generally flat shape extending along the longitudinal axis having a width (along the transverse axis) less than its length (along the longitudinal axis).

[0023] Advantageously, the compressor includes an integrated filtration system.

[0024] The vehicle can thus comprise two longitudinal spaces delimited respectively between the technical front face and the compressor and between the compressor and the cradle.

[0025] Said longitudinal spaces make it possible to ensure the filtration volume necessary for the compressor.

[0026] Other aims, characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:

[0027] [Fig.l] illustrates very schematically a part of the front axle of a motor vehicle according to the invention; and

[0028] [Fig.2] represents a side view of [Fig.l].

[0029] In the following description, the terms “longitudinal”, “transverse”, “vertical”, “front”, “rear”, “left” and “right” are defined according to the usual orthogonal reference system for motor vehicles, shown in the drawings, and which includes:

[0030] - a longitudinal axis X, horizontal and oriented from the front to the rear of the vehicle;

[0031] - a transverse axis Y, horizontal, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X and oriented from left to right of the vehicle when the vehicle is moving;

[0032] - a vertical axis Z, orthogonal to the longitudinal and transverse axes X and Y and directed from bottom up.

[0033] Figures 1 and 2 illustrate an example of a front part 1 of a motor vehicle comprising a cradle 2 extending transversely along a transverse axis Y, two lower arms 3, 4 each fixed to one end of the cradle 2 and a technical front face 5 delimiting the external environment of the engine compartment (not shown) of the vehicle.

[0034] The cradle of a motor vehicle is a metal part fixed to the chassis of the vehicle and located under the vehicle's engine. The cradle connects different parts of the engine, including the engine, shock absorbers and the fuel tank, in order to reduce the movement of these parts while the vehicle is moving.

[0035] Generally speaking, the front axle of a motor vehicle comprises, on each side, a lower arm, bar or lower triangle of a suspension system which connects the cradle to the wheel hub, allowing in particular the attachment of a wheel spindle, a brake caliper and the connection with a universal joint.

[0036] The two lower arms 3, 4 are, here, symmetrical. Each arm 3, 4 is fixed to the cradle 2 by two fixing points A, B and to a wheel hub (not shown) by a third fixing point C.

[0037] The invention is not limited to the shape of the cradle illustrated in the figures.

[0038] The technical front face 5 is connected to the cradle 2 by a support 6 extending along the longitudinal axis X.

[0039] Each longitudinal free end of the support 6 is fixed by screw elements 6a, 6b, respectively on one end 2a of the cradle 2 and on the technical front face 5.

[0040] The support 6 comprises a body of generally flat shape extending along the longitudinal axis X having a width (along the transverse axis Y) less than its length (along the longitudinal axis X).

[0041] As illustrated, the support 6 comprises two bosses 6c, 6d each extending upwards along the vertical axis Z.

[0042] The two bosses 6c, 6d are parallel in the longitudinal direction X.

[0043] The motor vehicle further comprises a compressor 10 of an air conditioning system (not shown) of the motor vehicle. The compressor 10 comprises a integrated filtration system 11 fixed on the support 6 by screw means 12a, 12b respectively on a boss 6c, 6d of said support 6.

[0044] The compressor casing 10 comprises for this purpose two fixing lugs 13a, 13b allowing fixing respectively on a boss 6c, 6d.

[0045] Two longitudinal spaces are delimited respectively between the technical front face 5 and the compressor 10 and between the compressor 10 and the cradle 2 and make it possible to ensure the filtration volume necessary for the compressor 10.

[0046] Furthermore, due to its shape, the support 6 makes it possible to absorb the forces of a frontal impact on the technical front face.
