Abstract

The invention relates to a chimney cover (1) comprising a base (2), a fastening means (3) dependent on the base (2) for removably attaching the chimney cover (1) to the cooking appliance (10), and a frame (4) projecting from the base (2) to at least partially surround the chimney (11). The base (2) includes an opening (20) for receiving a chimney (11) of a cooking appliance (10), and the fastening means (3) surrounds the opening (20). [0039] Referring now to the figures, we can see a chimney cover 1 for a cooking appliance 10. The chimney cover 1 comprises a base 2 with an opening 20, a fixing means 3 dependent on the base 2 and surrounding the opening 20 and a frame 4 projecting from the base 2 and surrounding the opening 20.

[0040] The base 2 is square in shape and includes a circular groove 5 on its lower surface 21, which surrounds the fixing means 3. The groove 5 is intended to receive an O-ring (not shown) to ensure the seal between the chimney cover 1 and the cooking appliance 10.

Demands

1. A chimney cover (1) comprising: a base (2) with an opening (20) for receiving a chimney (11) of a cooking appliance (10); a fastening means (3) dependent on the base (2) and surrounding the opening (20) for removably attaching the chimney cover (1) to the cooking appliance (10); and a frame (4) projecting from the base (2) to at least partially surround the chimney (11); wherein the frame (4) includes a discontinuity (41) to provide ventilation for the chimney (11).

2. Chimney cover according to claim 1, wherein the frame (4) includes a peripheral wall (40) having the discontinuity (41).

3. Chimney cover according to claim 2, wherein the peripheral wall (40) includes an inclined upper edge (42) to prevent the placement of an object on the frame (4).

4. Chimney cover according to claim 2 or claim 3, wherein the discontinuity (41) includes vents (41a, 41b, 41c, 41d) in the peripheral wall (40).

5. Chimney cover according to any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the peripheral wall (40) includes a slot (43) for water drainage.

6. Chimney cover according to any one of the preceding claims comprising a groove (5) surrounding the fastening means (3) to receive an O-ring to ensure sealing between the chimney cover (1) and the cooking appliance (10).

7. Chimney cover according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the fastening means (3) comprises a bayonet connector (30).

8. Chimney cover according to claim 7, wherein the bayonet connector (30) comprises a plurality of spaced feet (31) dependent on the frame.

9. Chimney cover according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the fixing means (3) includes a keying device (32) to ensure correct installation on the cooking appliance (10).

10. Chimney cover according to claim 9, wherein the keying device (32) comprises a spring-loaded arm (33) with a projection (34) at or near its end for removably engaging in a cavity or hole in the cooking appliance (10).

11. Cooking appliance (10) comprising a chimney (11) and a chimney cover (1) according to any one of the preceding claims.
