Description

Title of the invention: Cable support device for a motor vehicle.

[0001] The technical field concerns support devices for storing a charging cable and motor vehicles equipped with such a device.

[0002] Electric motor vehicles are experiencing growing interest from customers, while their ranges are constantly being improved by car manufacturers. These vehicles draw their electrical energy from on-board batteries, which must be regularly recharged by connecting them to a charging station powered by an electricity distribution network. To do this, the vehicles are generally supplied with a connection device comprising a charging cable adapted to be connected to the charging station and to a connector adapted to connect the charging cable to the batteries. When the vehicle is not connected to a charging station, the charging cable is generally stored in the vehicle for later use in a box generally arranged in a rear wing of the vehicle.

[0003] Furthermore, managing the opening of a rear vehicle opening generally requires fixing an opening control at the level of a rear wing. In order to protect the opening control from its surroundings, it is common to place the control in a protective casing at least partially surrounding the control.

[0004] Thus, in a rear wing, the arrangement and fixing of a housing for the charging cable and the fixing of a protective casing for an opening control prove to be complex and cause reliability problems and significant production costs.

[0005] Thus, there is a need for a solution to reduce the complexity of installing the various aforementioned elements.

[0006] The present invention aims to overcome the problems set out above. In this technical context, one aim of the present invention is to provide a device for storing a charging cable and protecting an opening control, while reducing complexity.

[0007] To this end, the present invention relates to a support device designed to be fixed to a body of a motor vehicle comprising a first part forming a storage box designed to allow the storage of at least part of a charging cable for a battery of the motor vehicle, the device further comprising a second part designed to accommodate at least part a control for opening a vehicle door, the second part being integral with the first part.

[0008] The invention finally relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one device according to the invention fixed to the vehicle, the second part housing a control for opening an opening of the vehicle.

[0009] Thus, the device according to the invention makes it possible to replace, on the one hand, a cable storage box, thanks to the first part of the device and, on the other hand, to replace a protective casing of an opening control thanks to the second part of the device. The first and second parts coming from the same material, the device according to the invention makes it possible to reduce the number of parts to be installed, thus making it possible to reduce production costs. The installation of the device according to the invention represents a saving in assembly time. Finally, the device according to the invention represents a gain in reliability because the fixing of the device is improved in comparison with the fixings of the box and the casing usually used.

[0010] According to one embodiment of the invention, the device is obtained by molding plastic material.

[0011] According to one possibility, the device further comprises fixing means designed to allow the device to be fixed to the body of the vehicle.

[0012] Advantageously, the second part forms a casing designed to house a part of the opening control, the second part having a cutout to allow a part of the opening control housed in the second part to protrude from said second part.

[0013] The invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description which follows, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:

[0014] [Fig.l] [Fig.l] represents a perspective view of a support device according to the invention;

[0015] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of a motor vehicle according to the invention equipped with the support device of [Fig.l].

[0016] In these figures, the same references are used to designate the same elements.

[0017] A support device 1 according to the invention, illustrated in [Fig. 1], is designed to be fixed to a body 2 of a motor vehicle 3, illustrated in [Fig. 2], at the level of a rear wing.

[0018] The support device 1 is advantageously made of plastic material and is obtained by a molding process.

[0019] The support device 1 comprises a first part 4 which forms a storage box 5 designed to allow the storage of at least part of a cable of charging cable, not shown, for recharging a battery of the vehicle 3, in particular a motorization battery. The housing 5 is delimited by a bottom wall 6 and a side wall 7 projecting from the bottom wall 6. The housing 5 has an opening, not shown, opposite the bottom wall 6 and delimited at least in part by the side wall 7. The opening is sized to allow the introduction of at least part of the charging cable into the housing 5. Advantageously, the opening and the housing 5 are sized to allow the introduction of the entire charging cable of the vehicle 3.

[0020] The device 1 further comprises fixing means 8 designed to allow the device 1 to be fixed to the body 2 of the vehicle 3. In the example illustrated in the figures, the fixing means 8 have screwing screws 9 provided on a rim 10 extending over at least part of the contour of the side wall 7.

[0021] The device 1 further comprises a second part 11 designed to accommodate at least in part an opening control 12, illustrated in [Fig.2], of an opening, not illustrated, of the vehicle 3.

[0022] The second part 11, distinct from the first part 4, is made of the same material as the first part 4. In the example illustrated in the figures, the second part 11 projects from the rim 10.

[0023] As illustrated in the figure, the second part 11 forms a casing 13 designed to house a part of the opening control 12, delimited by a side partition 14 and a bottom partition 15. The second part 11 has a cutout 16, made in the bottom partition 15, to allow a part of the opening control 12, housed in the second part 11, to protrude from said second part 11.

[0024] As illustrated in [Fig.2], the device 1 is fixed to the body 2 of the vehicle 3 and the second part 11 accommodates the opening control 12 which projects from the casing 13 through the cutout 16.

[0025] Thus, the device 1 according to the invention makes it possible to replace at least two parts usually used to store the cable and protect the opening control 12, thanks, on the one hand, to the first part 4 of the device 1 and on the other hand thanks to the second part 11 of the device 1. The first 4 and second 11 parts coming from the same material, the device 1 according to the invention makes it possible to reduce the number of parts to be installed and thus to reduce production costs. The installation of the device 1 according to the invention represents a saving in assembly time, thanks to the fixing means 8. In addition, the device 1 provides a gain in reliability.

[0026] The invention is not limited to the embodiment of a support device described above, only by way of example, but other embodiments can be designed by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and scope of the present invention.
