Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Vehicle storage device comprising a fuse box and two storage bins
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of storage spaces in the dashboards of motor vehicles and more particularly to a storage device forming such a storage space and comprising a fuse box.
[0002] Motor vehicles comprise a dashboard positioned in the passenger compartment and generally comprising at least one storage device, conventionally called a storage compartment.
[0003] There are closable storage devices comprising a flap provided with a tub pivotable relative to a frame between a closed position in which the tub is housed in a cavity and an open position in which the interior of the tub is accessible from the outside. This type of storage device forms a removable hutch providing a large storage volume.
[0004] A fuse box comprising fuses connected to an on-board network of the vehicle is housed in the bottom of the cavity, behind the tank.
[0005] However, access to the fuses requires complete disassembly of the tank to access the fuses, resulting in particular in disconnection of a shutter retarder, a retaining strap and the opening stops.
[0006] There are also storage devices comprising this tank system secured to a shutter movable relative to the frame with a fuse box integrated into the frame. The fuse box is positioned next to a cavity into which the tank is inserted when the shutter closes the cavity.
[0007] This type of solution provides easier and faster access to the fuses but a reduced storage volume due to the space occupied by the fuse box in the cavity. The volume in front of the fuse box hatch is not usable because it can spill out when the shutter is opened and it is difficult to store objects there while ensuring that the shutter closes.
[0008] There are also storage devices comprising a simple shutter without an integrated tank and a fuse hatch provided in the bottom of a cavity forming a storage space.
[0009] Access to the fuse is achieved by simply removing the fuse hatch, but the storage volume is not optimal because objects can spill out of the storage space when the shutter is opened.
[0010] The aim of the invention is therefore to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a storage device for the dashboard of a motor vehicle. providing greater storage volume while ensuring quick and easy access to fuses.
[0011] To this end, the invention thus relates, in its broadest sense, to a storage device intended for a dashboard of a motor vehicle comprising a base having a first cavity and a second cavity in which a fuse box is housed. The storage device comprises a flap comprising a first storage bin. The flap is movable relative to the base between a closed position in which the flap closes the first and second cavities, the first storage bin being housed inside the first cavity, and an open position in which the first storage bin is at least partially released from the first cavity to be accessible from outside the base.
[0012] According to the invention, the storage device comprises a second storage bin positioned in an upper portion of the second cavity of the base. The fuse box is positioned in a lower portion of the second cavity.
[0013] The invention thus provides a storage device for the dashboard of a motor vehicle providing a greater storage volume while guaranteeing simple and rapid access to the fuses.
[0014] No prior art solution offers such a storage device combining these two advantages at the same time.
[0015] According to a variant, the second storage bin is integral with the base.
[0016] Therefore, only the first storage bin is movable relative to the second storage bin.
[0017] According to a variant, the second storage bin is integrated into the fuse box.
[0018] This solution simplifies the design of the storage device, the fuse box and the second storage bin providing a unitary assembly that can be obtained during a molding operation, for example.
[0019] According to a variant, the second storage bin is adjacent to the first storage bin and distant from the first storage bin.
[0020] This solution allows the first storage bin to be movable relative to the second storage bin.
[0021] According to a variant, the first storage bin has a first upper opening. The second storage bin comprises a second upper opening.
[0022] These upper openings make it easier to access the storage spaces formed by the first storage bin and the second storage bin.
[0023] According to a variant, the fuse box is secured to a second external wall of the base. The second upper opening of the second storage bin is inclined relative to the second external wall of the base at an angle of between 30° and 80°.
[0024] This inclination makes it possible to orient the second upper opening of the second storage bin towards the user when the flap is open, facilitating access to the interior of the second storage bin.
[0025] According to a variant, the first upper opening extends in a first plane. The second upper opening extends along a second plane parallel to the first plane when the shutter is in the open position.
[0026] This improves the ergonomics of the storage bins.
[0027] According to a variant, the first plane and the second plane are inclined relative to each other when the shutter is in the closed position.
[0028] This makes it possible to optimize storage spaces and provide the largest possible second storage volume while facilitating access to the storage spaces.
[0029] According to a variant, the first storage bin defines a first storage volume larger than a second storage volume defined by the second storage bin.
[0030] The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising a dashboard comprising a storage device as defined previously.
[0031] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below, by way of non-limiting examples, with reference to the appended figures in which:
[0032] [Fig-1] schematically illustrates a top view of a storage device of a dashboard of a motor vehicle, according to one embodiment of the invention;
[0033] [Fig.2] schematically illustrates a transparent profile view of the storage device of [Fig.l] comprising a flap in the closed position;
[0034] [Fig.3] schematically illustrates a transparent profile view of the storage device of [Fig.l] when the shutter is in the open position.
[0035] The terms "lower" and "upper" will be understood according to their usual definition, in which the term "lower" indicates a greater proximity to the ground in the vertical direction than the term "upper".
[0036] The terms “front” and “rear” shall be understood in relation to the general orientation of the vehicle as taken in its normal direction of travel.
[0037] In the remainder of the description, elements having an identical structure and / or similar functions will be designated by the same reference.
[0038] Figures 1 to 3 illustrate a storage device 1 intended to be integrated into a dashboard of a motor vehicle, inside the passenger compartment.
[0039] The storage device 1 comprises a base 2 secured to the dashboard. The base 2 comprises a first cavity 7 and a second cavity 8 in which a fuse box 3 is housed.
[0040] The storage device 1 can be placed on the driver's side, on the left under the steering wheel, for example.
[0041] The storage device 1 comprises a flap 4 on which a first storage bin 5 is integrated. The first storage bin 5 defines a first storage volume 12 and has a first upper opening 9. The first storage bin 5 extends from an internal face 15 of the flap 4, towards the first cavity 7.
[0042] The first storage bin 5 comprises a first edge 23 delimiting the first upper opening 9.
[0043] The flap 4 is movable relative to the base 2 between a closed position in which the flap 4 closes the first and second cavities 7, 8 and an open position releasing access to the first and second cavities 7, 8.
[0044] The base 2 comprises an opening 22 closed by the flap 4. The first and second cavities 7, 8 open to the outside of the base 2 through the opening 22.
[0045] In the closed position as illustrated in [Fig.2], the first storage bin 5 is housed inside the first cavity 7. In the open position as illustrated in [Fig.3], the first storage bin 5 is at least partially clear of the first cavity 7 so that the first upper opening 9 is accessible from outside the base 2.
[0046] The first storage bin 5 comprises an internal wall 16 partially delimiting the first storage volume 12. The internal wall 16 is positioned opposite a first external wall 17 of the base 2. The first external wall 17 partially delimits the first cavity 7 when the flap 2 is closed.
[0047] The first storage bin 5 extends in the first cavity 7 in a first direction X, corresponding to the direction of travel of the vehicle when moving forward.
[0048] When the flap 2 is closed, the volume of the first cavity 7 is almost filled by the first storage bin 5.
[0049] The first cavity 7 is adjacent to the second cavity 8 along a second direction Y, perpendicular to the first direction X. The fuse box 3 is therefore positioned next to the first storage bin 5 when the flap 2 is closed.
[0050] The first cavity 7 and the second cavity 8 are communicating.
[0051] The fuse box 3 is fixed on a second external wall 18 of the base 2, connected to the first external wall 17.
[0052] The second cavity 8 has a depth in the first direction X that is less than the depth of the first cavity 7.
[0053] According to the invention, the storage device 1 comprises a second storage bin 6. The second storage bin 6 is positioned in an upper part 11 of the second cavity 8 of the base 2, i.e. above the storage box. fuse 3, the fuse box 3 being positioned in a lower part 19 of the second cavity 8.
[0054] According to an embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the second storage bin 6 is integral with the base 2.
[0055] Preferably, the second storage bin 6 is integrated into the fuse box 3. The fuse box 3 and the second storage bin 6 form a unitary assembly obtained during the same molding operation, for example.
[0056] Alternatively, the second storage bin 6 may be attached to the outer wall 18 of the base 2 so as to be positioned above the fuse box 3 or on the fuse box 3.
[0057] Alternatively, the second storage tray 6 can be fixed to an upper face of the fuse box 3.
[0058] Alternatively, the second storage bin 6 may be integral with the flap 4 and be adjacent to the first storage bin 5. The second storage bin 6 is then positioned in the upper part 11 of the second cavity 8 of the base 2, i.e. above the fuse box 3, when the flap 4 is in the closed position. The second storage bin 6 is positioned outside the upper part 11 of the second cavity 8 of the base 2 when the flap 4 is in the open position.
[0059] The second storage bin 6 comprises a second upper opening 14. The second storage bin 6 comprises a second edge 24 delimiting the second upper opening 14.
[0060] Preferably, the second upper opening 14 is located approximately at the same level as the first upper opening 9 of the first storage bin 5 when the flap 4 is closed. The first storage bin 5 and the second storage bin 6 are adjacent but distant.
[0061] When the flap 4 is open, as illustrated in [Fig.2], the first storage bin 5 is pivoted with the flap relative to an axis of rotation A, towards the rear of the vehicle. The first upper opening 9 of the first storage bin 5 is accessible.
[0062] The second storage bin 6 is fixed. The second upper opening 14 of the second storage bin 6 also becomes accessible.
[0063] The first storage bin 5 and the second storage bin 6 are no longer adjacent but offset.
[0064] The first storage volume 12 of the first storage bin 5 is larger than a second storage volume 13 defined by the second storage bin 6. The first storage volume 12 of the first storage bin 5 is at least twice as large as the second storage volume 13.
[0065] The second storage bin 6 has a parallelepiped shape with a rectangular section, for example.
[0066] Preferably, the second upper opening 14 of the second storage bin 6 is inclined relative to the second external wall 18 of the base 2 at an angle α of between 30° and 80°.
[0067] The base 2 comprises an upper wall 20 connected to the second external wall 18. The upper wall 20 is perpendicular to the second external wall 18.
[0068] The second upper opening 14 of the second storage bin 6 is inclined relative to the upper wall 20.
[0069] The fuse box 3 comprises a hatch 21 positioned below the second storage bin 6 and positioned opposite the opening 22 of the base 2.
[0070] When the shutter 4 is closed, the hatch 21 is positioned opposite the internal face 15 of the shutter 4.
[0071] When shutter 4 is open, the fuses are accessible by opening hatch 21.
[0072] The first upper opening 9 extends in a first plane and the second upper opening 14 extends along a second plane parallel to the first plane when the shutter 4 is in the open position.
[0073] As illustrated in [Fig.3], the first plane and the second plane are inclined relative to the second external wall 18 of the base 2 by the angle a when the shutter 4 is in the open position.
[0074] The first plane and the second plane are inclined relative to each other when the shutter 4 is in the closed position. The angle may be 90°, for example, the second external wall 18 of the base 2 being perpendicular to the upper wall 20 of the base 2.
