Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: CONTAINER FOR COSMETIC PRODUCT HAVING A PATTERNED LAYER FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The invention relates to containers for cosmetic products and more particularly to a container for cosmetic products having a patterned layer with improved characteristics.
[0002] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] A conventional cosmetic product container 1 is shown in Figures 11 and 12 and comprises a concave base 2, a lid 3 hingedly attached to the base 2 by means of a hinge (not numbered), and a receptacle 5 in the base 2. A cosmetic product 4 is placed in the receptacle 5. A user can turn the lid 3 about the hinge either to close the base or to open the base 2. To attract consumers to purchase the cosmetic product 4, a pattern (e.g., a drawing or letters) is arranged on an uneven surface of the cosmetic product 4. However, the pattern may become blurred or even disappear after a long period of use of the cosmetic product 4. As a result, the cosmetic product container 1 may be visually unattractive.
[0004] Improvements are therefore still necessary. Summary of the invention
[0005] The invention therefore aims to provide a container for a cosmetic product comprising a housing comprising a base having a receptacle on a bottom, and a lid pivotally attached to the base for opening or closing the base; at least one metal tray disposed in the receptacle, each metal tray comprising at least one first patterned layer on an inner bottom, each first patterned layer having a design or letters formed thereon; and at least one transparent cosmetic product disposed in the at least one metal tray and on the at least one first patterned layer.
[0006] According to one embodiment of the invention, the at least one first patterned layer is formed on the internal bottom of the at least one metal plate by laser impact.
[0007] According to one embodiment of the invention, the at least one first patterned layer is formed on the internal bottom of the at least one metal tray by screen printing.
[0008] According to one embodiment of the invention, the container for cosmetic product further comprises a plastic sheet formed on a lower side of the at least one first patterned layer, the plastic sheet comprising an adhesive layer fixed on the internal bottom of the at least one metal tray.
[0009] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cosmetic product container further comprises a second patterned layer formed on an external lower side of the at least one metal tray.
[0010] According to one embodiment of the invention, the at least one transparent cosmetic product is a solid or powder block.
[0011] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cover comprises a hinge tube on one edge, and the base comprises a cavity on one edge hingedly attached to the hinge tube.
[0012] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cover further comprises a latch on the edge opposite the hinge tube, and the base further comprises a recess on the edge removably attached to the latch.
[0013] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cover and the base are formed from a single piece.
[0014] According to one embodiment of the invention, the at least one metal tray is made of aluminum or iron.
[0015] The invention has the following advantages and benefits over the conventional state of the art: when a user uses the cosmetic container, the user can take the transparent cosmetic on the first patterned layer. The design or letters of the first patterned layer will not be compromised even when the transparent cosmetic is consumed. The user can clearly see the design or letters of the first patterned layer through the transparent cosmetic. The integrity of the first patterned layer is thus maintained.
[0016] The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Brief description of the drawings

[0028] [Fig. 12] is a longitudinal sectional view of the conventional cosmetic product container of [Fig. 11]. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0029] Referring to Figures 1-8, a cosmetic product container 100 in accordance with a first preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a housing 10, as described in detail below.
[0030] The housing 10 comprises a cover 11 and a base 12. The cover 11 comprises a hinge tube 111 on one edge and a latch 112 on the edge opposite the hinge tube 111. The base 12 comprises a cavity 121 on one edge hingedly attached to the hinge tube 111, a recess 122 on the edge removably attached to the latch 112 by snap-fitting, and a receptacle 123 on a bottom defined by the raised edge. Thus, the cover 11 can be pivoted to close or open the base 12.
[0031] As shown more particularly in [Fig.7], in another configuration, the cover 11 and the base 12 are formed from a single piece.
[0032] A metal tray 20 is also provided in the receptacle 123. The metal tray 20 includes a first patterned layer 21 on an inner bottom. The first patterned layer 21 has a design or letters formed thereon. In the embodiment, the metal tray 20 is made of aluminum or iron. The first patterned layer 21 is formed on the inner bottom of the metal tray 20 by laser impact (see [Fig.4]). A surface of the first patterned layer 21 is uneven due to the pattern.
[0033] A transparent cosmetic product 30 is arranged in the metal tray 20 and on the first patterned layer 21. The transparent cosmetic product 30 is in the form of a solid block (for example, mascara, lipstick, etc.) or powder (for example, powder, eyeshadow, etc.).
[0034] As more particularly shown in [Fig.5], a plastic sheet 40 is also provided, formed on a lower side of the first patterned layer 21. The plastic sheet 40 comprises an adhesive layer 41 attached to the inner bottom of the metal tray 20. The adhesive layer 41 is a double-sided adhesive tape or glue.
[0035] As shown more particularly in [Fig.6], the first patterned layer 21 is formed on the inner bottom of the metal plate 20 by screen printing. Thus, a surface of the first patterned layer 21 is flat without being adversely affected by the pattern of the first patterned layer 21.
[0036] As shown more particularly in [Fig. 8], the cover 11 and the base 12 are both formed of a transparent material. A second patterned layer 22 is formed on an outer lower side of the metal tray 20. Thus, a user can see the design or letters of the second patterned layer 22 through the base 12.
[0037] As shown more particularly in Figures 1 to 3, when a user uses the cosmetic container 100, the user can take the transparent cosmetic 30 on the first patterned layer 21. The design or letters of the first patterned layer 21 will not be compromised even when the transparent cosmetic 30 is consumed. The user can clearly see the design or letters of the first patterned layer 21 through the transparent cosmetic 30. The integrity of the first patterned layer 21 is thus maintained.
[0038] Referring to [Fig. 9], a cosmetic container according to a second preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated. The features of the second preferred embodiment are substantially the same as those of the first preferred embodiment, except that there are a plurality of metal trays 20 (e.g., two) in the base 12. Each metal tray 20 includes the first patterned layer 21 on which the transparent cosmetic 30 is disposed. This embodiment is intended to increase the variations of the cosmetic container.
[0039] Referring to [Fig. 10], a cosmetic container according to a third preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated. The features of the third preferred embodiment are substantially the same as those of the first preferred embodiment, except that the metal tray 20 comprises a plurality of first patterned layers 21 (e.g., three) each with the transparent cosmetic 30 disposed thereon. This embodiment is intended to increase the variations of the cosmetic container.
[0040] Although the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention may be practiced with modifications, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
